Pros SemRush being a well-known brand to SEO experts is surprisingly cheaper than its competitors- but the most powerful tool I've ever used. The Keyword Tool helped me a lot; this feature made me monitor the keywords our competitors were using and helped us rank at the top of Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs). I also use this to monitor our website analytics, fix bugs, and optimize our website pages. Semrush never fails its customers; the software will definitely help you reach your goals and KPIs. Pros The onboarding process is very simple and multiple user accesses can also be created in an account. The Semrush tool is a one-stop solution centre for understanding the nuances of Website SEO. The model lets you analyze your domain along with different other domains to let you review and compare your website's performance with different other websites. Objective-oriented tools within Semrush such as organic research, keyword magic, position tracking, backlink analysis and site audit allow us to troubleshoot and find problems and fix them in real-time while also being able to set up goals and accomplish them. There are many tools wrapped into this one software, which makes it easier to keep all my digital marketing under one roof. Cons Honestly, I'm a bit overwhelmed by the amount of tools available in SEMRush. It reveals how in depth your digital marketing can get and makes me feel like I am dropping the ball at times. I think it would be interesting if you could identify the stage you are at in your marketing, and SEMRush would help you priotize what would allow you to be most effective. Now that SEMrush is a paid platform, they also offer wayyyy more tools and they are constantly updating/adding features. They have a pretty responsive customer support, but I have had responses take 1-2 days to get back to me. However, I can't personally say that this response time has ever, in any way disrupted my flow of work and when I did have a more urgent issue they were great about helping me quickly. While Sprout is now a totally great tool, ultimately us not being able to tag any person or company on Facebook when posting through Sprout was what made us switch. However, if you just need social media tools then Sprout is an excellent option and I understand they no longer have these issues. SEMrush provides you with the information you need to make wise decisions and to do so daily. When it comes to creating a website, there are a lot of moving parts. With so many data points, creating a visual model is essential if you want to use the information proactively. SEMrush gives me the tools I need to improve the performance, speed, and intelligence of my websites. Pros Any software has both internal and external benefits. On the exterior, I like to see good design, good navigation, and a good rate of work. It has one of the largest keyword databases among similar tools, as well as all the essential configurations like keyword magic tools that allow you to add stop words and all the other features that a current SEO tool should have. To keep our SEM and SEO teams in touch, we use SEMrush to get a lot of information regarding keywords, technical, and competition data. When we first started using SEMrush, we utilized it as an "add-on" to other products, but now it is our primary tool. SEMrush's API access is just another perk of an enterprise-level subscription. In addition, we use the organic research tool a lot to learn about our domain as well as our competitors'. Excellent at shaping organic strategy and analysing the organic competitive landscape. Cons A huge negative that the PPC data Semrush provides is totally flawed. Not accurate for my own client base that I know the figures for, so can't be trusted to pull up accurate numbers for any other company. That and the fact it is the most expensive on the market makes it no longer cost justifiable when other tools can do what Semrush can do. Every serious business looking for growth should be using SEMRush or a similar product as they reveal a lot about your website. Pros I have enjoyed that SEMRush has continued to add features to its product offering. This helps consolidate software and accounts being used, staying within one platform, and adding value to building SEO audits, reports, and the ability to pivot and make changes with all of the information in one platform. There are equal competitors out there but most require you to subscribing to individual products from different companies to achieve what SEMRush can accomplish. Cons There's not much to dislike about SEMRush. The only true con that I dislike about SEMRush is the pricing around adding users. For the price you pay, and the size of teams needing access to the platform, I can't find the justification of the pricing for adding users to that extent for the majority of companies that would use the platform. I think 2 or 3 users to an account should be a no brainer and provide long-term customer relationships, instead of nickel and diming to add users. If someone else is logged into the same user account, one will get kicked off the platform. Next, this isn't really a con based on the pros stated above, but because of the numerous features available within the platform, it can become overwhelming or slow down the learning process for newcomers as it is a comprehensive, robust platform. There are many navigation paths to get to specific features and reports, but that is just the nature of the beast with consolidating and growing the product mix that is the evolving, for the better, SEMRUsh. Some of the greatest Pros of Semrush and the reason why I really appreciate their efforts and that I never needed to switch to an alternative is because it has the most powerful tools for keyword research, competitive intelligence, link-building, organic position tracking, and prospecting high domain-authority websites for a potential digital PR opportunity to build and maintain a strong online reputation through link-building to drive more traffic and achieve broader brand-awareness. I have been implementing Semrush for my clients for over 4 years and since that day until now, while new services come and go, nothing has been as comprehensive as Semrush and no other tool has the deep analysis and the insightful reporting capabilities it has. I cannot explain the great, exceptional results I've achieved for my clients during the past four years by only using Semrush. Cons One critical issue I have been facing with Semrush for 4 years, since day one, until now, is the lack of an Arabic database for the Middle East region. This is a huge mistake by them, and I don't understand how come they still didn't take any action regarding it. This leads me to use another tool from their rivals for our Middle Eastern clients with no international presence strategy. One another super annoying bug that most of the people I invited to Semrush have mentioned, including my existing clients, is when trying to sign-up for the trial and the payment keeps failing until he decides to purchase, then it works! With the help of some of the SEMRush keyword tools, we were able to find and write about various related keywords to place within our client websites which in turn generated more traffic conversions. Google Ads analysis and keyword competition provides insight on how to create a niche for our clients. Not to mention, spying on competing businesses and their estimated Google Ad spend. We've managed to address ad optimization for stronger performance. SEMRush seems to be continuing to improve the product. For example, the On Page SEO Checker provides detailed analysis on additional keyword word usage and phrase usage to help improve pages. Although it is not perfect, it is definitely being improved and helps provide guidance. It is easy to use; I can get very useful information such as web traffic by country, see the keywords for which a domain ranks in Google search results, see the quantity and quality of follow and nofollow links from my projects or from competitors' projects. It is a total tool for a normal user or an SEO consultant. Cons I miss in the backlinks section, that I can see the broken links of a domain or web project. Yes I can see the outgoing links it has, but I can't analyze what broken links that domain may have.
