The best part of this tool is being able to understand your competitors strategies to better implement your own. Cons Small to medium sized businesses may not see the value of using this tool for months or years, as the cost can quickly become 10-30% of your total PPC or SEO budget unless you're spending heavily in those areas each month. I set the students, most who had only a cursory understanding of SEO, up with trial accounts. I was amazed how quickly they ramped up and began gathering insights on the brands they were following. Complicated tools are great for professionals who do this kind of work on a daily basis. This tool has more in-depth functionality, but also has a feature set that a generalist can quickly learn and use. Pros I've used a number of SEO/SEM tools in both my day job and as an adjunct instructor. SEM rush is perhaps one of the most intuitive for new users to pick up and start gleaning insights that they can quickly implement. Keyword research makes sense in SEM rush and the reports are easy to run. Discovering other similar sites is also straightforward. Cons Some of the terminology was exclusive to SEMrush and not always defined in the product. There are some great training materials but they aren't always super easy to locate.
