For “prosumers” in the website building world, there are plenty of tools to help you play around with your website’s UI and preview them on every screen imaginable. Cons I was an early adopter into Pagecloud (user since 2015) and had special pricing for it. After I cancelled it and resubscribed under an organisation I now work for, the price really was a stark difference. May 26, 2021 5.0 Our website was frequently hacked, and previously hosted Rogers was the first to talk about the site from a friend because hiring a web designer couldn't prevent the hack. I've always liked creating websites to easily upload changes and customize them for my business (educational workshops for mental health professionals), so for maximum security and ease of use I had to find another service to offer. PageCloud has performed this task with its security partner Cloudflare. There were no security issues after the switch. And the site looks much better too. Pros It was very easy to get started because you don't need to know any coding or HTML, and you don't need to know only basic desktop design skills. Also, you don't have to look elsewhere in mind that the secure server page is included. Cons Design mode is a bit more complicated in terms of tracking layers. If you have a panel that allows you to track layers like Photoshop, which is much easier to design. If there are many templates to choose from. The big obstacle I encountered was migrating the desktop version to the mobile version in connection with resizing some objects. It was a disappointing process for me. Not only does it lack the ability to automatically play background videos from mobile phone browsers. There are remarkable bonus like making a slider or carousel picture gallery with the click of a button. I've used Dreamweaver and CSS in the past, but this is so much easier and straightforward. Customer service is great and there seems to be someone in the chat waiting for me if I have a question. Web design became a drag after a while but PageCloud has changed that. I am in and out quickly and maintenance is easy now. Pros This software works like a good quality desktop publishing suite. It is easy to manipulate websites and create the vision that the mind's eye conjures. HTML code is an option but not needed for anything I am doing. New features are being added, but ultimately this is a package that does what you want in the way you want to see it, quickly and easily. A little care and the website is optimised for desktop and mobile. Cons I'm still trying to find the flaws. the big one for me was spamming through form filling but the introduction of Captcha has ended that. Review Source Joel D. March 28, 2018 5.0 Easy maintenance of website content is a big win. Pros I like that the design is drag and drop for all the common things and is instantly live. Removing the barriers to outcomes is a huge win. I have no desire to concern myself with file storage management, ftp servers, separate design and hosting, etc. Cons Not everything is intuitive and when you need to go off script, it's definitely much harder and intimidating. Pros I love how easy it is to use and how creative it allows you to be. The freedom PageCloud allows you with designing your website is hands down the best. I no longer need to be anywhere near a computer programmer or website genius to be able to create a beautiful website for my company. Cons As amazing as I believe this software is, I do wish it was a bit more comparable in price. I sometimes struggle to justify spending that much. CEO Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Overall Fresh, Useful New Tech" March 27, 2018 4.0 Pros WYSIWYG to the max. You have the ability to build a site that does not look like a template. You can start from a blank page, which is what makes this great. Cons Still in its infancy, and the real challenge will be adding functionality while maintaining its accessibility for idiot users like me. Here are the three things that annoy me the most: 1) the editing pane isn't easily moved out of the way and often covers up the space where I'm trying to work; 2) there is no light box functionality for simple text - the only only way to have changing or rotating text/quotes is to load image files and that's dumb; 3) There is not sideways navigation - so "swipe left" and "swipe right" to access a new page or pane isn't possible, but is becoming more and more expected in mobile UI; Finally, there needs to be a way to make changes that don't publish immediately. Pagecloud needs to have an option to "publish now" or "publish as you go," so I can work on the page any time of day w/o fear of others viewing my work in progress. In addition, the ability to add a stroke to a text would be great; and bring back the glow and shadow text attributes would be nice (dearly missed.) I like the balance it strikes. Pros The customer service is amazing. I always receive really fast service and it's always useful. Whenever I have a problem, some one from the team sees me through to the end. I also really enjoy the interface of PageCloud. You have the option to do whatever you want with the ease of using tons of "drag and drop" type options. Plus you have ease access to the code which is always super helpful when you want specific tweaks to something. Cons The platform can get buggy at times when creating a lot of changes. There is also the issue of images breaking from time to time when you manipulate them different in desktop vs cell phone designing modes. Review Source Kayla H. There’s no need to be stuck to a templates or a theme - allowing me to pick & choose from different elements of websites that inspire me and make it into my own. Cons A few more integrations would be great, sometimes I have to browse the web to find an integration (ie: Instagram feed carrousel) and would be nice if they had a recommendation list to pick from. We've used it to keep our websites up to date, refreshed and adding new features! We like how it's still growing, and how there are always new features being added! Pros We like how easy it is, and how helpful the staff are when we need help to solve something! The easy of not needing to know how to write script makes a huge difference!! The drag and drop along with image resolution conversion/optimization is amazing! Cons There are sometimes headaches with the layouts and formatting between mobile and desktop. If one thing is messed up, it can carry forward to the other pages within the site, and can take a LOT of time to fix one small error. Will build my next site with PageCloud for sure. It's only getting easier and better. Pros I have built two websites with PageCloud, each with many pages. I am an absolute newcomer to this, never having designed pages on any platform before, and so the ease with which I could get a site up and running was my favorite part. The interface made everything fast to create. Then, when I decided what I was creating wasn't cool enough, I found it very easy edit and swap out elements. So I guess what I appreciate most is my ability to get it done quickly using an interface I could get used to. Cons The shortcuts throughout the design interface are great and helped me work quickly once I had a basic understanding of them. I must admit, however, that I would have liked a little more clarity about what various icons and options meant when I was starting out. This is becoming an advanced platform, and I appreciate the options that come long with that, but there is still room to describe things a little more clearly for us noobs. Pros I chose to move my high school music program's website to PageCloud due to its functionality, ease of use, ability to drag and drop and pre-made templates. I appreciate being able to see how my site will appear on multiple platforms and make changes specific to mobile or desktop viewing. Cons The cost is affordable (initially a shock compared to what I pay for a Wordpress site for another business), but considering the easiness of design, updatability, and the constant upgrades to the features available, tge price is actually not a con at all. I've spent on websites and never really got what I want. I spent a few hours one night and built a new website I loved. Then I built another one after they rolled out templates. It seems like every few weeks there's new features that make building great websites easier.
