### "Perfect for keeping passwords safe"

June 22, 2023

5.0

The software is very easy to use, I have two databases, one for work and one personal one. It's really easy to switch between the two databases and the function to auto populate your username and password is literally a time saver for me

Pros

I work with a lot of different systems in my job, and each requires a unique and strong password, without KeePass I would not be able to keep these systems secure. It's easy to populate a new password and keep it random and secure.

Cons

The app doesn't always recognise websites to use the automatic population, but you can add the URL to the entry to help with this.

### "Password organization is a must"

February 18, 2019

4.0

Pros

In a profession where keeping a multitude of up to date and complex passwords, this software is a must. The ability to storage, organize and manage all your passwords in one place eliminates headaches. You can generate random complex passwords or various character lengths in seconds and add notes to those entries for your own references. There is also a complexity strength monitor that can assist you if you have a weak password.

Cons

Interface is pretty generic. Switching between password safe files can be a pain as it seems to always try to default back to the one your opened.

### "Remember passwords is hard, in comes KeePass"

November 26, 2018

5.0

KeePass has been a lifesaver for my IT department. We have roughly 30 passwords that needed to be remembered and having keepass helps us maintain our sanity.

Pros

This software makes password management a breeze. In today's world where every website you go to requires a password and password criteria can vary from one site to another, it is near impossible to remember all your passwords. KeePass takes the frustration out of managing passwords.

Cons

I don't know that there are really any cons. If I had to chose something, I think the UI could use some improvement. It feels outdated, but functionality is all there.

### "KeePass"

June 2, 2022

4.0

Great free password database manager. I have never had any issues with the software or the database being inaccessible, corrupt, etc.

Pros

Unlike other password management software that stores your "password vault", you, yourself decide where you want to store your password data vault. The upside is you have total control on how accessible it is and you maintain it. The downside to this is if you don't keep backup and if something were to happen to your database, you would lose everything. You have the ability to sync it across droDropbox, OneDrive, etc.

Cons

The interface could be more modernize a bit more compared to other third party password manager.

Reason for choosing KeePass

LastPass keeps getting hacked.

### "Not Amazed, but At Least it's Secure"

March 19, 2019

3.0

There are other password managers I would recommend over this one. It's nice to have a local encrypted copy of your password database but that isn't enough to justify using this long term.

Pros

Encrypted storage, password protected, nice organization and searching abilities.

Cons

Software crashes often, if you don't save changes right away most likely you won't have them. Doesn't auto fill sites.

KeePass does not crash often for me. If you report details about your crashes (in the KeePass forum or tracker), we can try to find out why it crashes on your PC. The auto-type feature of KeePass types credentials into other applications (including browsers) when pressing a global hot key. For completely automatic form filling, a browser extension is required. If you are willing to install such an extension: extensions are available for most major browsers on the KeePass plugins page.

### "Keepass"

my experience with this software is that there I have my accounts, my page logging to not forget anything, and have everything on my computer

Pros

this software helps us to remember our bank passwords, or any personal logging in any website that requires a user, is the best because we do not have to write down notebooks or papers that we always forget where they are, this software is the best for our keys , also allows us to automatically copy our user and password with the option offered is called perform auto-type

Cons

Personally, this program is for all types of users, that is, it is the best

### "Handy Software"

July 6, 2021

5.0

This could be is handy for keeping departments' information centralized and NOT on sticky notes. The file you store things in could also be backed up/restored so some positives there.

Pros

Free is always good, but also the software keeps everything encrypted. Bad part about that is you don't want to lose your master password(s), but so goes the password games. This saves the headache of the growing amounts of passwords we and businesses used both regularly... or very seldomly.

Cons

The software doesn't auto-update, which makes one wary and not want to update it if other users share the same file but don't update their software often. Auto-update would be handy to fix that.

### "KeePass - My review "

February 28, 2019

4.0

KeePass enables me to store my passwords in one, encrypted database, so actually, I need to remember password key to get access to hundreds of them. Also, the portables version is pretty useful because of frequent travels.

Pros

KeePass is a free password manager, which supports Windows and has unofficial versions for Linux, Mac OS X, and mobile devices which you can find on the official KeePass website. The software is open-source and free of charge in contrast to the competition. KeePass supports several encryption standards, AES and Twofish, that are very secure. The databases are stored locally by default, but the manager could be customized to use cloud storage to sync data. There is also a portable version of the software on a USB flash drive, that allows you to keep your password database around. KeePass is fully customizable so that you can divide your passwords into categories to separate data if you use different databases for specific actions. Importing the data from web browsers, password managers, and generic password files is seamless.

Cons

Using KeePass for the first time might be obscure, as the program brings up a clean interface and it may take some time to get started with it so that I suggest looking for a tutorial to configure the tool correctly.

### "Probably the best offline tool to keep passwords secure in one place"

January 17, 2019

4.0

Good thing to have all passwords locally in one place, but one should never forget master password and passfile, if any!

Pros

Good encryption mechanisms lightweight and official installer / portable version good backward compatibility lots of plugins nicely done autotype feature very hard to brute crack (but possible to attack)

Cons

non-intuitive creation of folders/items via hotkeys workspeed highly depends on device read speed (so it's slow on hdd's or in network locations) upgrade process is manual and requires opening a web site to download installer manually lack of built-in online sync features (must install an addon/plugin) encryption using a logged-on user ID when creating a master password is obsolete IMHO

### "Great free Password Vault"

August 8, 2020

5.0

Nowadays I got so many accounts for various services and websites, sometimes I just lost in track. Thanks to this app helping me to organize my account and password without involving any third party service. This app store your account and password in encryption format, so your credibility will be more secured and safe

Pros

It's an open-source app and it is free, doesn't need any Internet connection to use it, and doesn't involve any third party service so users don't need to worry about their information handed to other people. This software also offers Password generator to make a strong password and Cloud storage, so I can access it anywhere

Cons

The UI looks old, outdated and so complex, user needs time to learn to use all the features offered in this App.

### "KeePass password manager"

December 17, 2018

5.0

Have been using KeePass for years now and could not manage without it, at least securely. If anything, I am tied to it - I couldn't login to any important website now without it. Easy to setup folders for different categories of websites and the auto-fill password feature is very helpful. Outside of the standard password configs, it is easy to setup your own custom generations. (eg when a site limits you to a 8 character password) Price is definitely right - no reason not to have this tool installed.

Pros

Easily manage logins to every site, keep passwords as secure as can be.

Cons

No issues of note. UI is simple and easy to understand.

### "It's a good self-hosted password manager"

September 22, 2020

4.0

It's very good for non-cloud enthusiasts or some very critical information that shouldn't be stored unencrypted

Pros

\- It's self-hosted so you can put the keepass database file wherever you feel best - It runs better on Windows, but can run on Linux and Mac OS too (with Mono) - It's encrypted with a password and there's a lot of settings to lock or hide the process automatically

Cons

\- It's not seamlessly integrated with browsers as LastPass or 1Password - It's not seamlessly integrated with Android or iOS as they Apple Keychain or LastPass

### "Straightforward Password Manager "

June 11, 2021

4.0

Never lets me down despite having transferred the database between 3 computers over time

Pros

I liked the linkage to a seperate file for login and the ease in which new passwords can be generated. I also like the ability to load websites and copy username and password.

Cons

The passwords generated are more simple than that required for some websites which require letters, numbers, capitals and unique characters. A version for phones would be good as I have to use Keepass2Android to obtain this. It would be useful if updates were within the application rather than having to go to a browser, download and install.

Reason for choosing KeePass

I viewed the alternatives at the time I installed it and have never had cause to change it. I picked it for cost and useability.

### "Great Way to Keep Passwords Safe"

February 18, 2020

5.0

KeePass has served me and my company well and has helped us avoid data breach issues and so forth, simply by being a great vault for passwords to be stored in. I work on so many programs and platforms that it would be impossible to remember all of my passwords, and using the same password for all programs is a terrible idea. KeePass solves that problem in an easy to use way.

Pros

I love how easy it is to store passwords on a protected file on a drive. It is wonderful to be able to use a shared drive to store the DB file so you can utilize your saved passwords from any machine you are using. Passwords need to be more and more complicated, as time goes by, to avoid someone using your credentials maliciously. This product allows you to use high security passwords for programs/files/etc. without having to remember them all. I also like that you can map the authentication to your domain login on a machine so you dont even have to remember a password to get into the file.

Cons

I have not used this software recently due to the fact that I now work on a Mac. Although I utilize Windows in Parallels, I am still unable to get KeePass to work. I understand this is due to a .Net Framework issue on parallels not behaving correctly, but it would be nice to have a simple solution for this and use the product more often on an iOS platform running Windows parallels.

### "KeePass"

September 23, 2020

5.0

My overall experience with Keepass has been amazing. It has helped me manage all my passwords and is always ready to take on more. I would be lost without it.

Pros

I could go on forever about how well Keepass works with my daily life. It has saved me the hassle of having to reset my passwords after a vacation or using a program I have not used in a long time. It is easily the best password manager I have used to to this day.

Cons

Keepass does not have very many cons if any at all. The only downfall I would say is sometimes it does not save the new entry or save the changes made on a already existing entry. This is maybe once out of every 20 or so I enter so the pros y far out weigh the cons.

### "Lifesaver"

May 17, 2019

5.0

This program is a life and time saver for me at work, where we have at least 28 systems we need to access, and the passwords expire at different times, and some have the same credentials. This program keeps track of all of them.

Pros

I can store all my usernames and passwords, document when a password changes, and the program types in the credentials for me. And it is secured with it's own password.

Cons

The auto type feature wont work for some websites. Cant figure out why. But I can still click a button in Keepass to get it to type the credentials for me.

### "Great concept for storing passwords"

December 9, 2019

4.0

Great tool for storing password but still keep control of where they are stored.

Pros

It gives you the control to store password where you want instead of having to trust a third-party service. Great concept.

Cons

It's UI is not really great and looks really outdated. It's usable but the product would be great with a better UI:

### "KeePass is Your Password Safety Friend"

March 26, 2019

5.0

Pros

I have used KeePass for several years and rely on it to keep my passwords safe and encrypted. Whenever I need to access a sensitive service or application I keep the password stored in this app. I love how it will only keep the copied password on the clipboard for a short time so that someone can't snoop on it if you leave your terminal unlocked.

Cons

The only real con to this is that it relies on your passwords to be stored in a local file which makes portability a little challenging.

### ""At one place you can store all your Keys""

May 29, 2019

5.0

It is a must use application for the large scale industry. Highly recommended.

Pros

This product I have been using for 3 years. I like this product for its best features. You can store all of your application user ids and passwords at one place. The won't be encrypted but it won't be shown to other users. It is not a big application so it won't eat much space in the system. It has the best search option to find applications.

Cons

There is some slowness in the app which I found, It needs frequent upgradations.

### "Keepasss for SaaS organization"

April 12, 2022

5.0

Pros

I like that Keepass is very secure and runs off of a database model (using blockchain technology). We keep our keepass not integrated to any web apps, which is more secure. Most other password managers are linked to the web, which poses some security threatss

Cons

Not connected to web apps. We see this as a plus for security

### "A Daily Software to Help Organize My Life!"

December 3, 2019

5.0

I have had a great overall experience using this software and I will continue to use it!

Pros

Easy to use. SImple. Export option. Simply put = it just does what it should. I enjoy that I can access it daily (with a password) and view the hundreds of passwords I use daily in my business, safely. Locally saved to my computer.

Cons

I have had a few crashes along the way. Sometimes there is a conflict in the data file if I have opened it on more than one machine etc... but this is just a small annoyance.

### "KeePass: the way to don't lose your keys"

December 10, 2019

5.0

We are working with KeePass from more than five years to manage our internal credentials for several servers and services. As I commented is an easy to use application and we are really happy to selected this solution in the past.

Pros

Easy to use: is an application friendly and easy to use. Is not necessary has a deeply view to understand how works. Easy to implement: if you need to implement the application, is enough with the creation of the file to save the keys. This file is encrypted and secure with user/password to can use. Securitisation: also the securitisation of the key file, you have the possibility to create different roles in the application.

Cons

We miss the possibility to implement the key finding with the browser through a plugin or whatever. The same case is with the Windows or application logging boxes.

Reason for choosing KeePass

It was free for use and easy to implement.

### "An essential tool to manage passwords, but it's only local"

April 29, 2021

3.0

I could store all my data and even attached files to my secrets database. I could use it to handle a manual workflow to backup my most sensitive information and a way to keep safe the information that only was for my eyes.

Pros

This software is one of the easiest tools that I can use to store my passwords. It's very basic, and it leads to a quick learning curve. It offers strong password generator and attachments to the entries. For example, I use attachments to store private keys or digital certificates, and in that way this software acts also as a backup of my sensitive data.

Cons

The database is only local, so you can't use it in other devices, but the worst thing is that, if your computer is broken or stolen, you lost also the database and your secrets. It should be good if integrates a backup system or link to, for example, Dropbox, Google Drive or even another professional services like Amazon S3.
