### "Why isn't this a webapp yet?"

October 8, 2018

3.0

Pros

It works well for what it's supposed to do. We use it to share passwords between about 20 different users

Cons

It relies on you sharing a file/key/password between multiple people. If someone saves it in a different place, the DB becomes inconsistent. Evertime you want to interact with it from a new location, you have to reinstall it. Would be much more usuable as a web app in this day and age.

### "Good password manager"

October 5, 2021

Very good.

Pros

Very good password manager that does everything you are asking from a password manager + it is free and open source.

Cons

Not as pretty as paid competition. Can be hard to learn how to use.

### "Really Useful"

December 4, 2018

4.0

Pros

It makes me feel secure when using it. All the passwords are stored securely and are ease to find, thru the concept of groups and Entrys. Plus, I can add really good descriptions to our entries.

Cons

I'm not sure if they already have that, but a integration with LDAP would be good. I mean, today we use a Master Key to access the app. Access it via LDAP authentication would be good.

### "It is awesome to use this software. It has been God send to me and my colleagues. It is a must have."

July 20, 2018

5.0

I do not have to remember all the passwords from Development,Quality and Production systems as i do some times takes time to use some of my systems.

Pros

Able to keep my SAP and Windows passwords and log into SAP by just clicking the link. The database is protected by a strong password using a strong algorithm

Cons

Not web based application. i would like it to in html5 somehow instead of using the traditional application.

### "Great password keeper "

June 23, 2019

5.0

Pros

I like that this is firstly and open source product, secondly that it is encrypted and thirdly that it is stored locally. Being stored locally for me is what sets this from all the other password managers as they are predominately online, if they are ever hacked your data could be exposed. You set up a password database locally (can be shared with others) and you enter your password to access the database. You can play around with this so that for each password you can auto fill details on webpages/servers. You program each entry individually so for example if you need to enter your username, password then hit enter to login. You can program the app to do so.

Cons

Being picky, the ordering of groups is quite manual, would love it if you could drag and drop.

### "Have switched to a different free password app"

December 4, 2019

4.0

Since KeePass was pretty clunky to use across multiple devices, I have since switched to another password generation/storage app.

Pros

This is only a review of the free version, I have never paid for the pro version of KeePass. I initially liked KeePass's password generator function, and I used it for password storage for years before switching.

Cons

It doesn't work very seamlessly on mobile devices, and doesn't have a browser-based version for desktop devices. This meant I had to do some complicated workarounds to sync (including keeping my KeePass file in a Dropbox to access it from multiple devices). It also doesn't have autofill options on mobile devices when you navigate to websites.

There is no paid version of KeePass. There are multiple KeePass ports that run in a web browser, see https://keepass.info/download.html

### "An excellent way to generate, store, and easily copy/paste passwords."

January 17, 2018

5.0

Secure digital password storage

Pros

Automatically generates passwords for you (if you want), and then stores it securely. The best part is that when you need to copy/paste your username and password, you just have to click it on the interface and press CTRL+V, and KeePass will automatically enter your username and password in the window that was previously selected.

Cons

This is still a method of storing passwords digitally, so it is still somewhat unsafe, even though it would take a hacker a loooooooooooooong time to break the encryption.

### "Love it. Fast, secure and free. "

February 23, 2021

5.0

It´s simple, fast, secure and easy to use. Did I mention that it was free?

Pros

It´s absolutely free and opensource. You decide how you handle your info and how to share it; unlike other programs that live on remote servers.

Cons

It is not as feature rich as comercial software. You depend on the work of non-paid programmers for updates (as with all open source software).

### "Great password management tool"

July 30, 2019

4.0

Pros

I've been using Keepass for years and use it along with Lastpass. Can't get any better than free and it just works. It allows me to use more secure passwords and I don't have to remember them. I also make use of the password generator tool.

Cons

There are 3rd party developers who made Keepass compatible mobile apps but I wished they would have an "official" mobile app.

### "Simple yet complex password manager"

April 12, 2017

4.0

During the early half of 2016 I was starting to become interested in the network and web security tools that are becoming available. As one of those people who had 3 interchangable passwords for every website, I wasn't very secure and I was looking for way to improve on that. I'd heard about password managers from a colleague who explained that, along with 2-factor auth, were the safest way of using multiple passwords. I found a list of such systems and, one by one, tried them out to see which one was best for my needs. Although some were very good they had small let downs that ultimately stopped me from using them. Keepass though has astounded me with the quality of it's features and how easily I was able to integrate it into my every day PC usage. After working my way through the instructions on the website I managed to figure out how each of the features work. The software itself, though not beautiful in it's aesthetics, is simplistic and features are easy to spot by the simple logos used. Although the software itself is rather daunting at first, not being the simplest product, it is rather powerful when you get it working. I now use this as my de-facto password management solution, integrated with cloud storage and mobile usage. I've never felt safer on the web.

Pros

Free, easy to use and install, cloud compatible.

Cons

Mobile app leaves much to be desired.

### "Very secure offline password vault, highly recommended"

December 3, 2019

5.0

Storing all your passwords needs trust in the product. Online products can be safe but what is safer than one tool that can be used offline and you have full control over. Make sure to use a very very strong password for your admin account and you are 99,9999% safe with this.

Pros

It's an offline open source password vault. Because of this i consider it much safer than any other online tool to store the passwords. You are fully in control where to store the data. You can use webdav to connect to it remotely e.g. on your phone. The search functions is doing a great job, searching through all that information stored.

Cons

Categorize your password correctly from the beginning to have a good overview. Storing all the passwords might seem to cost some time at first but it definitely will help you later.

### "Very useful"

October 31, 2019

5.0

Been using this for so long I can not even remember when I started.

Pros

It's friendly, easy to use, manages your password in a very secure way. You can have it portable or installed on your pc. THe comunity is so nice they made versions for all other platforms.

Cons

It could have a more updated interface, some sort of backup to the cloud, or a secondary like OTP authentication.

### "Fantastic, easy to use password manager"

November 8, 2017

5.0

Pros

Keepass is a simple but powerful password manager, you just need a really complex master password and then all credentials can be stored in a single place, securely. Auto-Type is also a great feature

Cons

Maybe the client could be improved, for example more integrated with plugin list and languages list (without going to their website and download manually)

### "Fantastico!"

September 9, 2021

5.0

### "The must have product to encrypt your password"

February 14, 2018

5.0

Absolute improvement of password management at company level It is: freeware, open source, multi platform, multi browser, with many plugins to integrate with any type of solution, personal and business.

Pros

The product is free and, above all, open source. This must be a fundamental requirement for a product whose purpose is to hide your passwords without the risk of some hidden backdoor in the code.

### "Kepass review"

June 12, 2021

4.0

I would recommend the use of keepass for a professional environment which needs a system for password management.

Pros

Password management especially in a distributed professional environment is one of the key value of keepass which make it unique. Especially accessing the database of passwords from a web browser or the desktop applications

Cons

Keepass needs an enhancement especially on the user interface, which sometimes seems to be hard on use for beginners

### "Must have tool"

November 14, 2018

5.0

Great feature set and oh by the way, it is free! Something like this is required in secure environments to ensure access is being restricted properly.

Pros

We have this set up on a shared drive so our team can reliably access needed credentials. It keeps people from writing down logins on notepads

Cons

I honestly have no complaints. It does what it needs to do without being overly complex

### "Security and Ease of Use"

June 14, 2020

5.0

I have used this software both professionally and personally for over 10 years. It has saved me time on a daily basis by having easy access to login credentials along with associated notes. Easy to access, quick to use, and very handy.

Pros

KeePass is easy to install and setup. It keeps your login credentials well organized and safe. Easy to manage includes ability to insert notes.

Cons

This one of the only software products where I can honestly not come up with a "con". The closest thing to an issue was having to figure out how to keep the KeePass window open on my screen when clicking into a site for login. There is a setting that "keeps it on top" which is handy.

Reason for choosing KeePass

The alternative was writing everything down or putting it in a spreadsheet which is not handy nor safe.

### "If security is a top concern for you (and it should be!) use KeePass!"

August 29, 2019

5.0

It has made our company a lot more secure by providing a way whereby we can insist on using strong unique passwords for anywhere we need to log into.

Pros

It is finally a very secure way to secure login information by creating and storing long unique passwords. I love the fact that it is open source, not cloud based, and I don't need to worry about the company behind it being tempted to make money off of my data.

Cons

It is a tad clumsy for beginners, but I realize that features and security come before UX in a product like this.

### "Great open-source password management software"

August 24, 2018

5.0

Pros

Open source, basic but featured and easy to use UI. One of the few local/non cloud based password management software out there, inherently giving better security than cloud based software

Cons

As it is not cloud based, it is possible to lose one's entire storage of passwords. This is really both a pro and a con, depending on one's use case.

Pros

Auto-complete The ability to have multiple database-files The "History" tab with older versions of the entry It has a portable version It's free!

Cons

Lack of integration with web browsers (like LastPass has) Otherwise, everything works well, nothing more to add here :)

### "Great for saving logins "

February 9, 2020

5.0

We used to have an ncrypted list saved on the admins computers themselves in a document so only they would have access to the information. This became a pain to have to track down the information when needed. We came across this tool and it’s been great. It’s been great to keep all the information in one place and safe from prying eyes who don’t need access.

Pros

Love this product. Love that we can keep and chose our own usernames and password or have the system generate one in one place so they aren’t all over and having to track down the information from each system admin. This tool has very beneficial to our system admins.

Cons

Haven’t really found any defaults or issues with using it. With all the uses we need it for, with our computers, servers and vlans, it’s been a great tool for us.

### "Free password manager"

February 26, 2021

4.0

With proper use, this is an extremely versatile tool and extremely good value being open source. I highly recommend it's use personally and for small businesses. Larger companies can afford to use something a little more expensive but idiot-proof, like priveleged acces management (PAM).

Pros

Good quality free open source password manager. Passwords can be grouped for easy retrieval. Password generator conjures up random passwords. Database is easily transferrable and can be kept on a flash drive. Also TAN functions handy for banking.

Cons

If not used properly the safety of the application can be greatly reduced. By use with teams and departments it is essential to change the master password corresponding to the in and out flow of personnel.
