Additionally, the convenience was truly amazing because I could reopen my web browser and would not need to sign into LastPass again to autofill passwords and store them. Pros It's an easy and efficient way to store passwords from multiple websites and across multiple web browsers. Additionally, I'm not asked to log in after reopening a web browser. Cons LastPass makes it so that by default, you can only store your passwords in LastPass with it being difficult to store in Chrome's password manager as well. And, LastPass could've stored passkeys as well. Additionally, they make users pay to have LastPass across more than a certain number of devices. Review Source DN David N. I think the UI for both browser and mobile is simple to use and navigate. The app doesn't try to be too much and does its core function as a password manager well. Highly recommend for personal use and/or SMB. Pros The interface is super easy to use and works well. I like how there is a browser extension and mobile app that does what it's suppose to. There are plently of record types for you to store your information or credentials. Personal subscriptions are very cost efficient and reliable. The enterprise/business subcription is good and overall admin management is good. Like the random password generator built into the extension. The auto fill works well and doesn't seem as buggy as some of the other applications. There's a free tier for personal use as well which is great for those just wanting to try it out. Cons The free tier only allows one device installation. You need to upgrade to allow more device installations such as your computer and phone. Vault transfers and folder sharing from the business administration side is a little confusing if not properly configured correctly during onboarding. VP of Marketing Marketing and Advertising Used the software for: 2+ years ### "A Family Plan That Can't Help Your Family" July 31, 2026 1.0 I was a loyal LastPass customer for nearly six years and trusted the service enough to put my entire family on a Family plan. That trust is gone. For seven days, my family member was locked out of his account because he needed to reset his master password. Despite countless attempts to resolve the issue, LastPass provided no practical way to restore access in a reasonable amount of time. A password manager's primary job is to help users securely access their information, and LastPass failed at the most critical moment. What made the situation even worse was the terrible customer support. Responses were slow, unhelpful, and offered no real path to resolution. As the Family Manager, I was shocked to discover that I had virtually no ability to help my own family member recover access to his account. For a product marketed as a family solution, that is an incredible oversight. The most disappointing interaction came from LastPass support itself. Rather than helping us recover the account, we were told: "Since your family member does not have much information saved in their vault yet, resetting the account would be the best course of action." That response completely missed the point. The amount of information stored in the vault is irrelevant. Whether there is one password or one thousand, the expectation is that a password manager helps customers regain access to their accounts, not dismisses the problem because there isn't "much information" to lose. That response demonstrated a lack of empathy and a troubling attitude toward customer support. This experience exposed a fundamental weakness in LastPass's Family plan. Family Managers have no meaningful way to assist a family member who is locked out of their account. Competing password managers, such as 1Password, provide family recovery features that allow organizers to help members regain access. LastPass leaves families stranded when they need help the most. After nearly six years as a paying customer, I have canceled my LastPass subscription. It wasn't because of the technology alone, it was because of the complete lack of responsive support, the dismissive attitude we encountered, and the absence of basic family account recovery capabilities. When a company holds the keys to your digital life, seven days without access and no meaningful support is unacceptable. I cannot recommend LastPass to anyone, especially families. If you're evaluating password managers, don't just compare features; look closely at account recovery options and the quality of customer support. Those are the things that matter when something goes wrong, and in my experience, LastPass failed on both. Pros For nearly six years, LastPass served my family well as our password manager. It was easy to use, simplified password management across multiple devices, and made it convenient to securely store and organize login credentials. The Family plan was straightforward to set up and made sharing passwords between family members simple. Day-to-day, the product generally worked as expected, which is why I remained a loyal customer for so long. Unfortunately, those positives were overshadowed by the account recovery experience and poor customer support. A password manager is only as good as its ability to help when something goes wrong. Cons LastPass completely failed when it mattered most. The biggest drawback of LastPass is its account recovery process and the lack of meaningful support when something goes wrong. Family Managers are unable to help family members regain access to their accounts, making the Family plan far less useful than expected. Customer support was slow, unresponsive, and ultimately dismissive, even suggesting that resetting the account was acceptable because there "wasn't much information" saved in the vault. Seven days without access to an account is unacceptable for a password manager, especially when there is no practical path to resolution. It has helped me secure all my streaming, bank info and website passwords without any sort of breach or data information being stolen. Pros The ability to save passwords, auto generate, secure your information and user friendly extension to autopopulate or update passwords is what made it stand out compared to others. They provide a master password you can generate to secure all passwords, and it considers personal questions for any sort of breach. Cons Sometimes, between Google passwords and LastPass there would be an overlay on fields where I would need to add data from a dropdown, and with both working at the same time, i would have to deactivate it so it would allow me to see the options from the dropdown. Now you have to change your password on several accounts. Most password managers can't help here, since it won't know what all those new passwords are supposed to be. There was a nice feature in Lastpass that helped you change multiple passwords. That was probably their strongest feature, besides the core password management features Pros A password manager helps you manage all your passwords. Each password is unique and is protected with a master password only you know. That means you can use unique, strong passwords for every account without having to remember them. This is extremely important for accounts with sensitive information like your email or banking account. Lastpass has done a great job up until recently. Cons I loved using LastPass, and had been using it for over a year. After they changed their pricing model to pay for a subscription I decided to see if there were any other great password managers out there. I'm not against paying for services, but I don't like how they pulled the rug out of everyone who relied on the free version, where they get so used to the software as apart of their daily life, that it forces many to just pay the fee (many of whom would likely have never signed up in the first place if it were not free). So to me, it feels like a bait and switch, where they had this planned all along. So it's the principle for me. The smarter way (to strengthen, and not harm their brand), would have been to all along offer a freemium version and offer other extra features that a small percentage of all users are willing to pay for. Essentially they trapped people into using the free version, and are forcing people to pay to now use on multiple devices. It feels shady and left a bad taste in my mouth towards their software and brand. I've decided to look more into Mozillas free password manager. There are also those from the likes of Google's and Apple's built in password managers. After testing other products, I believe google or mozilla are the way to go, since apples is too proprietary (\*they are a closed ecosystem - you can't as easily use cross platform and on other browsers) Review Source LB Laura B. It has made browsing the web, banking and visiting favorite sites a pleasure instead of daunting task. I have an acquaintances who says she never uses the web because all the password stuff it too difficult. I've tried to get her to use it. Anyone who does will breathe a breath of fresh air. It really make passwords a non-issue. Pros Ease of access to accounts it the best feature. No longer do I have to remember where I wrote down and hid my passwords. I just have them available, all in one place. I honestly don't see how you you be on the web these days without password management. Cons It's sometimes difficult to get to or see the icons for Lastpass in the necessary field I want to populate as it's frequently covered up or obscured by other page elements. November 6, 2022 5.0 LastPass allows me to save and manage all my personal and business passwords in one place, making my work and life easier. Pros I like being able to save all of my passwords and other login information in one place, especially with a lot of passwords i used before, now its easy to use them without the fear of losing them, i have a master password for LastPass, that i remember, other password i don't have too, LastPass do the job for me and keep my mind clear and focus on work, also the way the extension worked with every browser i use is a blast, work very fast especially the autofill feature, i login to websites very quickly. Cons The only complain i have is that sometimes LastPass have problem with some websites detection.
