Software Engineer Computer Software Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Easy and Convenient Way To Store Passwords" August 13, 2025 5.0 While using LastPass, it was easy to store my passwords and sync them across different devices and web browsers. Additionally, the convenience was truly amazing because I could reopen my web browser and would not need to sign into LastPass again to autofill passwords and store them. Pros It's an easy and efficient way to store passwords from multiple websites and across multiple web browsers. Additionally, I'm not asked to log in after reopening a web browser. Cons LastPass makes it so that by default, you can only store your passwords in LastPass with it being difficult to store in Chrome's password manager as well. And, LastPass could've stored passkeys as well. Additionally, they make users pay to have LastPass across more than a certain number of devices. Review Source DN David N. I think the UI for both browser and mobile is simple to use and navigate. The app doesn't try to be too much and does its core function as a password manager well. Highly recommend for personal use and/or SMB. Pros The interface is super easy to use and works well. I like how there is a browser extension and mobile app that does what it's suppose to. There are plently of record types for you to store your information or credentials. Personal subscriptions are very cost efficient and reliable. The enterprise/business subcription is good and overall admin management is good. Like the random password generator built into the extension. The auto fill works well and doesn't seem as buggy as some of the other applications. There's a free tier for personal use as well which is great for those just wanting to try it out. Cons The free tier only allows one device installation. You need to upgrade to allow more device installations such as your computer and phone. Vault transfers and folder sharing from the business administration side is a little confusing if not properly configured correctly during onboarding. September 19, 2025 1.0 Trying to get a hold of customer support is a nightmare! They're holding my passwords hostage and there's no way to reach them. It's a horrible situation! Pros The app is easy to use and works across all my devices. However, if you get locked out and need to contact customer support, you're out of luck! Cons I've been locked out of my account for three days and can't get any help from customer support. I've tried everything: I opened a support ticket, sent four emails, and got no response. There's no phone number to call, and I can't use the chat feature because I'm logged out. I have my master password, but I can't access my account because I got a new phone and need to set up multi-factor authentication (MFA). The recovery options didn't work. Pros I've used a few different password-management apps in the past, and I've always found LastPass to have the best UI and the most transparency around data management. Cons I have the browser extension installed, and unfortunately it often populates in fields that aren't login fields. I've had to disable it on some sites due to that issue, but it's likely the same thing would occur with other similar apps. Key benefits are; intuitive operation and quick access to all accounts without entering a password, strong two factor authentication effectively protects all data, saves time every day through automated login processes and also fast and competent customer service. LastPass has exceeded my expectations and is an indispensable tool in my digital life. Cons The browser plugins sometimes also covers fields that aren't login fields. It has helped me secure all my streaming, bank info and website passwords without any sort of breach or data information being stolen. Pros The ability to save passwords, auto generate, secure your information and user friendly extension to autopopulate or update passwords is what made it stand out compared to others. They provide a master password you can generate to secure all passwords, and it considers personal questions for any sort of breach. Cons Sometimes, between Google passwords and LastPass there would be an overlay on fields where I would need to add data from a dropdown, and with both working at the same time, i would have to deactivate it so it would allow me to see the options from the dropdown. LastPass covers a wide variety of easy to use extensions to your pc/laptop browsers as well as the needed mobile apps. LastPass also offers solid and easy ways to enhance your security with external passkeys, such as physical Yubico's. Cons There is not much I would say I disliked about LastPass. I ended eventually changing to another product which covers more than just storing credentials securely. Maybe that is the downside of LastPass. I decided to invest on it, since I was truly satisfied with the product. The free version is all you may need, but having online access makes it even better. Cons The online version does not allow to see the password with one click. It is not self explanatory that you have to click on the "wrench" the "Go" button gives you the impression that it will take you to the entry's settings. I work with so many companies and having this app as a shortcut to access all of them also being able to share Agency passwords with coworkers for shared log-ins is very helpful. Pros LastPass is very easy to use makes Launching into company websites with prefilled user name and passwords. Saves me time instead of manually always logging into each website. I am also able to use it when I am working out of other offices and need all my credentials. We use the app for 2-factor-authentication as well. LastPass also recogninzes new passwords and automatically asks you whether you want to add them to your password list. It also realizes new data and refreshes it. The programm also sets up hard passwords by itself. Pros LastPass is the easiest way to collect all your passwords and keep them safe. You basically cannot forget your passwords anymore because LastPass already knows your password, so you only have to remember LastPass' password to have all your access data at hand. Once I got familiar with its capabilities, I never had to worry about implementing secure passwords again (and I have hundreds of them). The price seems super low for such an important tool. Pros LastPass allows me to create a very strong and unique password for everything I need to login to online. It's quick, easy and intuitive. I never have to worry about making up good passwords or trying to remember them. Cons LastPass does have a learning curve (short but you can't skip it). You need to figure out how to generate a password in the app and/or on the website. You need to get comfortable creating folders to organize your passwords. Any faults are easy to overlook when you can store and manage hundreds of unique, randomly generated passwords across multiple devices. Pros Securely generating strong and unique passwords reduces the risk of data breaches and keeps accounts safe. It also reduces the mental load in trying to create and remember complex passwords and makes sharing passwords very easy. Cons The browser extension search is often slow and sometimes unresponsive to search queries. Sharing passwords also sometimes requires a sign out and sign in in order to access the shared site. Now you have to change your password on several accounts. Most password managers can't help here, since it won't know what all those new passwords are supposed to be. There was a nice feature in Lastpass that helped you change multiple passwords. That was probably their strongest feature, besides the core password management features Pros A password manager helps you manage all your passwords. Each password is unique and is protected with a master password only you know. That means you can use unique, strong passwords for every account without having to remember them. This is extremely important for accounts with sensitive information like your email or banking account. Lastpass has done a great job up until recently. Cons I loved using LastPass, and had been using it for over a year. After they changed their pricing model to pay for a subscription I decided to see if there were any other great password managers out there. I'm not against paying for services, but I don't like how they pulled the rug out of everyone who relied on the free version, where they get so used to the software as apart of their daily life, that it forces many to just pay the fee (many of whom would likely have never signed up in the first place if it were not free). So to me, it feels like a bait and switch, where they had this planned all along. So it's the principle for me. The smarter way (to strengthen, and not harm their brand), would have been to all along offer a freemium version and offer other extra features that a small percentage of all users are willing to pay for. Essentially they trapped people into using the free version, and are forcing people to pay to now use on multiple devices. It feels shady and left a bad taste in my mouth towards their software and brand. I've decided to look more into Mozillas free password manager. There are also those from the likes of Google's and Apple's built in password managers. After testing other products, I believe google or mozilla are the way to go, since apples is too proprietary (\*they are a closed ecosystem - you can't as easily use cross platform and on other browsers) Review Source Rob H. It has made browsing the web, banking and visiting favorite sites a pleasure instead of daunting task. I have an acquaintances who says she never uses the web because all the password stuff it too difficult. I've tried to get her to use it. Anyone who does will breathe a breath of fresh air. It really make passwords a non-issue. Pros Ease of access to accounts it the best feature. No longer do I have to remember where I wrote down and hid my passwords. I just have them available, all in one place. I honestly don't see how you you be on the web these days without password management. Cons It's sometimes difficult to get to or see the icons for Lastpass in the necessary field I want to populate as it's frequently covered up or obscured by other page elements. October 6, 2022 4.0 I have been using LastPass extensively for the past two years and it has been my lifesaver ever since. I have downloaded the LastPass extension which helps me launch the sites and log into them in a seamless manner. LastPass is great for saving all the important passwords in a secured vault that can be only accessed by the user. A user just needs to remember one single password and LastPass takes care of all the other passwords. I love its password generator tool which helps suggest me strong passwords when needed. Pros LastPass is the best password manager and is quite easy to use as well. LastPass allows users to access the passwords with ease and share them with others as well. It has an extension that works seamlessly and lets a user launch apps in a jiffy. The password generator tool in LastPass is great for generating some really strong passwords. With an array of features like SSO, 2FA, and multi-factor authentication I find LastPass to be a secure and reliable tool. Even the free account here comes loaded with all the features, one needs to stay organized and safe digitally. Cons LastPass is a great tool for managing passwords but one thing that I dislike about LastPass is sometimes I find trouble finding the login to an item shared with me even after I have accepted it. Before it used to show up quickly in the shared items but now it tends to take time and a lot of refreshing.
