I don't need to remember any password again and I feel secure knowing my passwords are changing every 3 months. Pros I never need to remember a password again. The software will automatically generate a very difficult password and everything is done in the background. Changing passwords was a huge task but not anymore with LastPass. It's very easy to set and use. Anyone can do this. Cons The only regret I have is not being told about this software earlier. I use this for my business and personal use as well. Reason for choosing LastPass I was told about this through a co-worker and he showed me how it worked and I immediately fell in love with it and signed up on the spot. I have told several colleagues about this and they have all signed up as well. This is truly an amazing piece of software. You will not be disappointed. A++++++ Review Source Marlin H. It's a great way to make sure that not only is your password secure but also, safe and unique thus minimizing the chance of a breach. Pros Centralized password sharing is the key feature, and Lastpass does it pretty well. Allowing you to setup employee groups for access to shared folders. Cons While you can share a personal password external to your organization, you cannot share a password in a shared folder with an external to organization - requiring double entry. The plugin or application automatically fills in not just usernames and passwords, but form information as well all without you having to do anything. It's also very secure and you can add two factor options like a USB key or code generator for added security. User management is also great and for just a few dollars a month you can set password rules to make sure only passwords that meet your requirements are being generated. I do like how the enterprise version includes every feature as well. Cons It's a bit expensive per user for the enterprise offering. I'd rather pay a set flat fee for up to a certain number of users rather than per user. Autofilling credentials on iOS and Android could use some work and doesn't always fill in information properly, or at all. Pros The ability to have all of my passwords in one place behind one master password. It's changed my life. I can generate incredibly secure passwords and never have to remember them. With the Chrome extension it makes it incredibly easy to save, generate, and fill passwords on any website. The mobile app gives you the ability to access your password vault on the go. Cons It can be a bit fickle when trying to share a password with another user. You have to login to see the password once shared, even if you're already logged in. Sometimes it won't show the shared password in the sharing center. This is the only reoccurring issue I've found with LastPass. The service has been down for about an hour at a time once before, which was difficult because I could not get into any of my applications at work. This obviously negatively affected me. It has been an absolute lifesaver. I have hundreds of passwords saved and I would be lost without it. Very easy to manage. Cons For some reason, I regularly get issues where a password for the same site will be saved 2-5 times, where some of those passwords saved are older. I also love that you can login to all your saved sites with one single click. The autofill feature does the rest. The secure notes feature is also super handy for storing things like important phone numbers. Pros I used to have a very exhaustive list of usernames and passwords hidden beneath my keyboard -- obviously not the most effective (or secure) way to save this info. The worst was when I forgot to update the sheet to the most recent password; you'd get denied three times; your account would lock and then you're on hold with customer service for ten minutes trying to get in. With LastPass, you never need to write down another password again. You can rest assured knowing all your login info you handily and safely stored and accessible whenever (yes, even on your phone/tablet!) you need it. Brilliant. Cons Sometimes (and it's rare), my vault will list the password for my LastPass login as the password for each site in my vault. Syncing across all sorts of devices - whether as an app or as a browser extension. Can only recommend. Pros Well, I have never really used any other password manager other than the standard one from Google. So, for me, it was already a substantial upgrade going for a product that solely focuses on the password management. But LastPass convinced with the intuitive user interface and interaction - you instantly know where to click without even knowing the tool. I have seen a couple of other password managers though, and from a UX/UI perspective, LastPass definitely outperforms the others. Cons There is a free version that lets you use the password manager across different devices, but asks you to each time set a "main devices" for your usage. Within that free version you are only allowed to change the main device a couple of times until you have to go the paid version. I didn't really realize that I have already changed the main device a maximum of times and suddenly I was prompted to pay or I couldn't use the tool on my laptop anymore. Review Source Rod W. The ease of use in retrieval makes it easy to use and share information with other staff members. Pros LastPass Enterprise makes storing and retrieving passwords for the company safe, secure and easy. Easy lookup, fast integration into different browsers and an internal security/permissions system allows different levels of staff/user access. I like how it has secure notes, a security challenge/verification system, and folder support for arranging lots of different websites, systems and logins. Overall, it's very capable with a lot of useful features. Cons Sometimes LastPass does not recognize a website, or automatically prompt to fill in passwords. On other occasions, it transposes the username/email with the password, depending on the website design. Having said that, it does a pretty good job with the majority of websites. Pros It all starts with the ability to generate a unique, secure password. A click or 2 and there you have it! Then, the ability to securely save and manage these passwords is critical, and LastPass makes that as easy as could be. And when the need arises to share a password, the sharing capability is fantastic - I love that I can share the actual password when appropriate, or just provide access while keeping the password hidden when I want to limit the amount of access/control someone will have on a shared account. Cons There is very little not to like. I have no complaints about functionality. One very minor thing is that the cost has creeped up for the paid version, but it is still quite reasonable, AND most people can use the free version without any problem, so I don't need to pay for most of my employees. No more looking for passwords. One less thing to have to think about every day. Pros I was so tired of having to look up or reset my passwords every time I went to a website. So frustrating!! With LastPass, all my passwords are safely stored (and not on pieces of paper!!) so I can access them on ANY device. This was especially helpful when I recently upgraded my iPhone! I also like the random password generator. I don't even have to think of new password for a new login! Cons Not all websites work with LastPass. A few are blocking it in an effort to keep away hackers, but it makes it harder for the user. These are rare, but increasing. Additionally, our security is hardened due to the use of secure, complex, and unique passwords per site. Pros Lastpass helps me maintain proper password security, and I even use it as a secure storage location for other items. All items in my vault are synchronized almost immediately to my other devices, and it makes logins seamless! I haven't needed to reset a password or worry about a site data breach in years thanks to LastPass. I can rest assured that my data is safe with them and from other prying eyes due to how it is encrypted. Friends of mine that don't use LastPass waste so much time with passwords; stressing over them daily. It's been amazing to not have that worry at all! Windows is being done with any competitor, Android is really fully covered with lot of functionalities. Pros Laspass is password manager on steroids. Most important, it allows autocomplete and generating (and remembering) secure passwords. Passwords can be shared with coworkers securely. All you need is to remember one secure passwords and let lastpass help you remember or generate passwords for any site or application. Cons Autocomplete has issues sometimes, it closes the window, but that's rarely. Password sharing with coworkers could be more intuitive. Password generator is decent but "readable" passwords are still bit complicated (if you want to remember password specifically). Master password can be reset if you have access to your mail (that's ok functionality, but not secure). They also had breaches which is not great. Pros The browser integration and phone app are great. It supports two factor authentication even on it's free tier. Switching between accounts (in this case a work account and a business account) was very simple. When working via a web site it's prompt to save a password isn't obtrusive and is very handy, the AI for figuring out if it is a password save situation is pretty smart as well. Cons There isn't much not to like, I have looked into it but the one small thing I liked about keypassX before moving over than I think is different is I haven't seen a way to pull an encrypted version of my password database local with the free version but to be honest I haven't looked that hard so it may actually be there. It does allow storing random notes and attachments to I do store some keyfiles that need to be secure. Pros I can remember one strong password for unlocking the vault and I can use it to generate random secure passwords so I don't use the same password on all sites. Cons It adds a LastPass icon to login fields and occasionally this overlays a UI element that I need to click. For example, logging in to Apple.com can be a little frustrating. But this is pretty rare. I recommend this product to anyone who will listen. Some folks will have security concerns with it being cloud-based, but LastPass has a lot of protections in place to ensure that you're data is safe. Additionally, the level of access to your LastPass accounts can be greatly augmented by ensuring that you are following security best practices when you implement the product in your organization. Enable 2FA, use hardware tokens if you can (YubiKey anyone), and ensure that the "master" password is strong. Pros LastPass is simply the best password management suite out there. It includes apps for most (if not all) operating systems and mobile devices. With the recent update of iOS 12, it now integrates so much better with Apple devices because you no longer have to toggle back and forth between the LastPass app and the app that you're trying to populate passwords for.
