Lastpass gives you a secure enclave to store your passwords and other classified information unlimitedly with neat features. Pros LastPass is an online password manager that stores your passwords secure while giving many features. Lastpass has easily accessible browser extensions for almost all web browsers and mobile platforms. You can generate secure passwords and it checks and notify you when you save a weak password. Furthermore, you can set up multi-factor authentication with Lastpass which will increase the security of your accounts. Cons The only issue I came across recently with LastPass is that they removed the multi-platform sync from the free tier. It streamlines work and saves so much time in an non-intrusive fashion. Pros LastPass has been a lifesaver! In an industry where we have countless accounts on countless software platforms shared between employees, I can't imagine working a day without LastPass for business. The plugin quickly fills in login information and makes it easy to select the correct account when applicable. It saves me so much time that I even ended up getting a personal account for outside of work. Cons I find the LastPass vault to be a bit cluttered, but given the amount of features available, it only makes sense! LastPass makes it easy for me to create strong passwords and never “forget” them. For some pieces of software, I have 8 different logins for various accounts and needs. My brain can House more important information now. Pros I love the chrome plugin. I use the plugin every day to maintain my login sanity. I have multiple logins for some sites, so I love the ability to click the LastPass icon next to the username to select which account I need to access. Cons It’s constantly logging me out. I realize that this is to maintain security over my passwords, but it’s pretty frequent that I have to re-login or that I get an error message. Cons The monthly fee is a downer. I'm a sucker for free apps but apps but this fee is be as used towards further securing and they're secure and encrypting what keeps people out of your personal information so it's a necessity. What I like most is the ability to save more than one account per site/software. This is extremely helpful for me as I typically work with more than one email for different reasons (work email vs personal email). I don't believe that this software would be very safe or functionally for the work that I do. I work with multple client accounts, so a software that had more levels to entry would be better. However, highly recommend this password managing software for personal use. Cons The one thing I would suggest to be beneficial, is the ability to save more than one password per entry. For example, I have a few accounts that require two separate passwords for a single login. This is a unique instance, but for LastPass is only recognizes the first and usually the first password keeps appearing even when I am trying to type in the second. Besides that, I really have no cons for this software, I would definitely recommend it to anyone who needs a simple password manager (for personal use only). July 25, 2019 4.0 Pros LastPass is amazing for organizations where there are many accounts that users are sharing the login for. I love that when I have to update a password, I can update it in LastPass and everyone else in my organization has the updated information immediately (without disruption). LastPass frees my brain to think about my work and not have to worry about remembering or keeping passwords encrypted. The 2 Factor Authentication is really comforting as well, when you'll dealing with clients that have highly sensitive information. Cons On occasion, LastPass doesn't recognize a URL or doesn't give me the option to fill in my information. With LastPass it is easy to manage and share all those passwords. For each group of people we have Shared folders. if you save a new password in s shared folder all people with access to that folder can access that password. Pros \- Cloud service, meaning that you can always access your passwords - Setting country restrictions - Sharing passwords with colleagues - Access passwords from any browser or phone - Storing passwords offline - Creating secure notes - auto fill username/passwords - Support two factor authentication Cons \- Sometimes slow when saving passwords or notes - Options for sharing are limited. The Chrome extension is reliable and great for creating passwords, as well. Pros LastPass is easy to use and setup. With a paid subscription, you can sync passwords on multiple devices (such as your mobile phone and your computer). Integrations with browsers is quick and works great. Authentication features help add security to services that allow it. Cons Pricing changes have required a paid subscription to sync passwords on multiple devices. Tried a couple others, but at least one overlaid the login fields in a very kludgy way and it was not functional. Pros I've been a LastPass user and proponent for years and believe strongly in the concept of password vaulting to make it possible to chose a different password for ever application and system without the burden of remembering them or writing them down defeating the security. Cons I have not really come across any features I did not like. I guess if I had to come up with something it would have to be integration to my Android to be sure it was supporting all the logins there. It is inconvenient for her to have to pass along the password to everyone or stop what she is doing in her very busy day to find a password for us. Now it is all stored in LastPass. This allows you to create and save logins with complex passwords keeping your data safe. Furthermore, you can save other things in your LastPass vault such as credit card info, secure notes, etc. Lastpass also keeps up to date by providing a variety of addional security options such as OTP authentication, multifactor authentication via your phone, master password re-prompt option, etc. Personally, I use the OTP option with my Yubikey. With that option, LastPass will exit each time I close my browser and when I re-open the browser it prompts me to push the button on my Yubikey and logs back in. If the OTP fails, LastPass immediately goes back to requiring both the master password and the OTP code making it very secure. The app is also incredible. I use it to autofill logins in other apps and it saves me slews of time each day. Cons When sharing login credentials with another user, there is an option to let them view or not view the password. This is a bit misleading as, if you choose to NOT let them view the password, they can still see it in plain text by using inspect element on any browser and changing the password field from password to text. Since the change to the free plan, I use Lastpass less frequently as there are better free alternatives. Pros It makes storing multiple secure password easy to use. It has 2 factor authentication and multiple features to make passwords easy to store. I love how you can store your passwords in an xml format making it easy to manage. Cons I am not a fan of how they switched out the free to use service to only include one device, this made using the system more difficult. The overlapping system is not perfect and often does not detect when there is a log in page when I am on my phone. Review Source Melissa P. January 21, 2019 5.0 Pros This is my favorite software I've implemented over the last couple years, and I have implemented a LOT of software. The ease of use is phenomenal. We teach LastPass to all of our clients, and the results are seriously life-changing. I like that I can confidently tell my clients we recommend a specific company based on their history in cybersecurity and their ease of use. After the iOS 12 update where you can even use LastPass to autofill, I'm over the moon. Cons What I like least is that the Chrome extension and the actual site can fight sometimes. I've experienced an issue more than once where a user will have a bookmark for lastpass.com and they'll have to sign in even though their signed into the extension. It will look as if they have two different accounts signed in at the same time. It's very confusing to explain to someone and hard to describe to them how to avoid it. Review Source ID Ivan D. Cons I have used LastPass for several years as a paying customers in our business, and I was overall very happy with the service and would recommend it easilly, but in recent years that had a few security breaches that were so amateurish that are concerning regarding their internal security policies and practices, and have placed customer's security at risk. It's nice because it allows us to share between our teams, however, it's not at all secure. We have folders that old clients have shared with us that we can't remove from our account because we don't "own them". No kidding, I want it out of my account but I can't remove it unless the person who shared it with me does. Great if you trust your team 150%. Pros Ability to store and generate passwords is nice. Multiple people can access and use without having to manually share. Cons It's not secure. We tried the paid version for teams and we found that it's not really secure. We had subcontractors that we wanted to share passwords with. These people sometimes create accounts for our business and need to add them to LP. The subs owned the passwords! There's no real parent hierarchy to teams. From the others that I have tried, they have the best interface and features. Other products will do the same, but not as polished as LastPass. Another plus is that they are now backed by a bigger company (LogMeIn) so their product will be around and supported for a much longer time than a smaller company. They recently upgraded to a pay for play model (small yearly fee). I think this was a good move on their part, as a product that protects your passwords and is free makes you wonder where the revenue is coming from. THis way, you know (hopefully) that their income is coming from direct payments vs them selling your data Cons I guess a con would be that sometimes the form fill does not seem to work, and you have to manually open the app to force it to fill. also, sometimes an exact match will not be present, but the app fill service does not allow you to search for a password.
