Too many people don't care about insecure passwords. This helps with both. It works, and it will let you see who is trying to be secure and who thinks p@$$word is secure. Pros The best thing about this product is the reports you can generate about the quality of passwords that people use. You can show (and occasionally shame) managers who is using simple passwords and who is generating complex ones. You can't always easily stop people from password re-use and the like, put you can put up a pretty chart to show who is. Cons The one minor (but very annoying flaw) is that it can miss some username/passwords forms on some sites. Very few, but they do exist. Cons You have to remember a password to get in to view the rest of your passwords. The pricing change was an unwelcome move. Pros My favorite feature in LastPass is how easy they made it to export your password vault for use in a different tool. Cons LastPass has great features: 2FA, strong encryption, folders, notes, accounts, and so many other options of data to store. However, the cost is outrageous. We moved away from LastPass because of their pricing changes; essentially, you get less for more. I have problems with my memory and anxiety and this neat little app does help me feel a lot safer Pros I love how easy it is to use and navigate this app. I like the fact that I have the option to just ask it to show me the password for a website/account that I don't remember. I like that they give you the option to generate certain passwords that can range between reasonable and pronounceable to total gibberish if you're extra paranoid and don't mind copying down 12 different symbols down every time you log back onto your other accounts. Cons Sometimes it does not auto-populate and takes some time connecting to the site. Often is works okay, but there are other times you need to try new windows to get it to connect properly. It's a great tool for sharing company passwords instead of having them in source code or in text files or worse on sticky notes. Cons Having all the passwords in LastPass requires total trust of LastPass, but 2 factor and having different passwords on every site out weighs that in my mind. Now I'm back to using my old methods for storing passwords. They complicated things with their confusing rules about browsers that store information or something. I'm a millennial who is used to troubleshooting tech issues, but this one was beyond me. Pros I was able to add passwords from any login account I had, which was nice. I really like the security of it, rather than storing passwords on paper or a spreadsheet or something. Cons I ended up having to delete my account because I couldn't log in. I was really disappointed with that. Even though I knew I was entering my password correctly, it wouldn't accept it. So then I tried to do account recovery but it wouldn't let me do it on Chrome for some reason. I installed the browser extension and followed all their rules. Even though Chrome was the only browser I'd used it on, they said there was a problem with it and I had to log in with another browser I'd used it on. Obviously that wasn't an option. So they said the only option was to delete the entire account. Seems kind of ridiculous. As long as you have your master password memorized, you can access all of your necessary logins. It really helps with those sites you rarely use. The ability to generate secure passwords and share them amongst departments without giving them access to actually view or copy the password provides a nice extra level of security on these shared accounts, and the auditing features in lastpass enterprise help us maintain individual accountability. Pros Great solution for shared accounts on external services, or for companies that have not implemented single sign on solutions yet. Being able to link a personal account to a company account while still keeping them separate is a nice touch Cons Getting employees within the company to use the application once it has been deployed.
