Marketing Content Manager Marketing and Advertising Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Good, But Maybe not the Best" October 9, 2018 4.0 I thought LastPass did a fine job as a password manager, but there are other options on the market that offer the same but are a bit easier to manage. Pros It is a decent password manager, my organization used it for about 6 months and ultimately switched to 1password. I found it convenient and fine, but other people in my organization had issues with it. Cons Some people were having issues using LastPass, so the company abandoned it in favor of another manager. Unfortunately, I don't know exactly what these issues were. Personally, I like the new one better so the only bad thing I would say about LastPass is that there is a better one out there. A simple search with several users at any one site makes it easy to use as a professional agency handling more than one account. I get a feeling of "freedom" from having LastPass take care of all of my login for me .Easy to use and a very optimized app. Cons The only con I can think of is that there are free apps that do a similar ,but inferior job . Everything is tied together so well in your account and you can easily share passwords if you need to with someone else. This was very important because I used both my mobile devices and my computer to work. Cons I must say that it was a little difficult to use at first and took a little getting used to. " October 3, 2017 5.0 Security Pros It really really helps me do something we all should be doing: keeping our passwords secure and safe. After the initial setup, I now have versions on my computer and iPhone and have access to my passwords for any saved site, at my fingertips. I just feel safer. Cons The setup is time consuming, but there's no way around it. You have to manually change all your passwords and save the new ones to lastpass. But once you're set up it's super easy. Cons Auto fill is slightly difficult to turn off. 2FA is not supported or is complicated to set up. Customer support, at least in the free version, is atrocious. Pros LastPass offers an organized and intuitive interface for storing passwords, banking, and other personal information. It is a great one stop app for keeping your personal information person and secure. The pricing is affordable and there are several tiers and options. Cons The desktop app on Mac is not as feature rich as some other options. There are very few fields in a login, so if you have a linked email AND username there is no way to include that information outside of adding it to the notes. Updates to the desktop app come slowly. Funny thing is most of them were the same password with maybe slight variations. At my age I can barely remember what I had for dinner yesterday much less remember cryptographically strong, unique passwords for 200 or more sites. Enter LastPass. You get a single password (don't forget that one!) and then this great password manager which you can access in several ways - Google Chrome extension, mobile app, etc. They support fingerprint authentication and two factor authentication via mobile device, awesome password generation which guarantees a password no one will ever remember or guess. Oh yeah - I forgot the best part - it's free for basic non-commercial use! Pros Super easy tool to store all your passwords. I used to be guilty of having one password for everything, but in this day and age, you really need many different passwords that are difficult for hackers to figure out. I am a chronic password forgetter. Pros This software dynamically updates itself. Anytime you visit a site and enter a username and password combination a dialogue box automatically pops up asking if you want to store the login info. There's also a sharing option that allows you to share your passwords with assistants and anyone else on your team while keeping them hidden. Cons The only way it could be improved upon would be eliminating the qualifiers that appear when the boxes pop up. Most programs learn and record preferences, LastPass does not. Review Source Alan C. DevOps Engineer Computer Software Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Clunky, unintuitive, and with a history of security problems" February 19, 2020 2.0 LastPass was a temporary solution for our IT admin team to organize passwords before we switched to a different platform that had a more intuitive interface and didn't have any of the same security problems. Part of the reason we decided to switch was because LastPass was acquired by LogMeIn, which seems to have the Midas touch for price increases on everything it touches. I believe we've made the right choice by switching away. Pros LastPass allows our IT administration team to organize shared passwords before we adopted a different company-wide password manager. Cons The LastPass web client's interface was incredibly clunky, and I hated using it. LastPass has a history of security breaches that damaged our confidence in its product.
