A good chunk of our leads come from landing pages with forms, and the higher those pages rank from the keywords we enter into Moz, the more likely we are to get more marketing qualified leads in the door. It helps make my job easier. Pros I love how easy it is to search for and analyze potential keywords, and then easily add them in and monitor the results and movement of how pages with that keyword are ranking. The analytics and results that Moz provides are very detailed and helpful. It's easy to spend an hour every week making sure we're as optimized as possible. Cons These seems like something silly to complain about, but I almost feel like Moz has too many great features. Moz Pro is a suite of tools that help you manage your on-site SEO, link building, keyword research and rank tracking. I use it essentially for keyword difficulty analysis and for its Chrome extension, for other tasks I rely more on other SEO tools. I consider it a tool that can be very useful, even if it is not as popular as it used to be in the SEO world. I would recommend to those who are linked to the SEO world to give it another chance, Moz Pro may surprise you. Pros For me one of the most powerful features of Moz Pro is its keyword analysis tool. It can surprise. It throws up terms that don't appear in other tools, as well as offering one of the most reliable difficulty indicators on the market. Cons The backlink tool is not excellent, not even close to the market leader. Also its DA indicator, once a great indicator, is now almost worthless because it is very manipulable. Overall, Moz Pro has lost its luster. I think it is a matter of fashion, it is no longer seen as the cool object of other times, now that position has been taken by others. Cons I don't think their dashboard is designed very well and it can be a bit confusing at times. I think they should put more time into the aesthetics of the site just as much as the features. Pros Moz has a very user friendly interface. It is easy to navigate, to save groups of research, and provides fantastic competitive analysis on backlinks. The keyword research tool is more accurate than Adwords Keyword Planner and a great starting point for long tail terms. Cons While easy to navigate, some of the tools can be hard to understand. I typically start my keyword research process with moz, but to find the holy grail of long tail keywords, I'll move to another tool. It is something that every SEO specialist looks at when evaluating a website or backlinks. Their browser toolbar is a good feature. For me, it was helpful, but a bit overpriced considering that I wasn't sure what to do with all the information that was presented. Pros I used Moz in a previous role for about two months. I found it useful mostly for the purposes of keyword research and competitor intelligence. The user interface was good, modern, and pretty easy to navigate which was nice. Cons As someone who hasn't done a lot of SEO stuff in the past, it's really easy to get into Moz, but knowing what to do with the information that you get out of the system is another matter. It's interesting because while the UI is simple and makes it easy to navigate around the app, this isn't an indication that the app is for an SEO novice - you do still need to have some experience or knowledge to be able to use Moz effectively. I also think that it's somewhat overpriced considering there are other tools that do a lot more for the same or less cost. I use their training and webinars but not the tool as Semrush and Ahrefs is superior Pros Moz has just about everything you could need to run a SEO business or just do SEO for your own website. With good support articles, help section, and support they know what they're doing and want your site to succeed. Cons Moz, in my own experience compared to other software, consistently gave different results for things like rank and volume. This was terrible when i was using multiple services at once to double check work. The other issue is the design layout is not easy to use nor intuitive. Comparing domain authority to competitors helps you understand how your site is ranking to others. The Keyword Explorer has been very helpful. It allows us to see how a keyword ranks in general and also how it has been performing on the root domain. The site crawler report has helped us discover critical crawler issues and not allow our rank to decline. Cons It would be nice to add more than 3 competitors to compare how we are ranking against them for domain authority.
