There's a robust set of tools around keyword research and link analysis--the basis for any SEO campaign. There's enough utility here in a nicely-presented package to be helpful--and not overwhelming--to orgs that want to get smarter about their SEO game. Cons Moz is great for the basics, but power users are going to find a lot missing. For example, their link index is much smaller than the ones in ahrefs or Majestic, and anecdotally I've found that their keyword data contains much less search volume information than competitors, as well. The best is the keyword analysis, which helps to find out your competitor's keywords and the website ranking. There is also a link explorer, on-page optimization, site crawl, etc. Cons There are so much keyword data and graphs that sometimes it may be confusing to analyze the volume and priority scores. Cons It was difficult to use and hard to understand exactly how all the features throughout the software worked without extensive tutorials provided by Moz that didn't always help with application but rather more theoretical applications of the software. I also enjoyed getting access to the expert community. Pros Moz let me generate attractive reports, the main one was tracking keywords and the effectiveness of my SEO efforts over time. Access to the community is also a big benefit. Cons Price. This is really a function of how much I used the software. I definitely didn't use it to its full potential, and I may go back to it one day. But right now we're too small and not getting the full benefit. Absolutely essential for organic and content audits. really wish they'd provide more tools though as the organic channel is becoming more and more opaque as Google does too. November 23, 2017 5.0 Pros The thing that I like most about this software from an agency perspective is that when you are tracking all of your keywords, you can segment them by client to keep them all in one place. Pros The SEO audit showed me issues with my site, which once fixed, helped improve my search engine rankings. Keyword analysis helped me find topics to potentially create content around. Cons The cost isn't very friendly for small businesses. Also, not that it's a major gripe, but I'm not the biggest fan of the UI (at least relative to other SEO tools). We have set up each one by tagging the keywords we have optimised the site for by folder. Also, the blog is great for industry insight. Cons There is nothing I don't like about this product. On page grader feature may be helpful for novice search engine optimizers. April 21, 2018 4.0 Main benefit would probably be its blog; it has taught me almost anything I needed to know about SEO, growth hacking and ASO. Pros Wow...this tool has so many features, I wouldn't even know where to start. A really great tool for competitor analysis, complementary keyword research and overall lessons about growth hacking. Cons The main trouble IMHO is the price; there are other options out there, from SEMRush to ZEFO, and in my home country, ZEFO is the undisputed king and the prices are just better. When ramping up, there isn't a need to start with MoZ because of that. July 11, 2018 3.0 Pros Moz is amazing for keywords and categories. It helps you check to see whether your visibility in search is showcased, so you can optimize the items that are low performing. The traffic and backlink analysis are great for research, and I love that you can check some of your competitors as well to see where you may be falling flat. Cons Unfortunately the reporting isn't as good as it could be. A lot of the chart systems can't be used, and you can't export most as PDFs, which is what I tend to use most often. The PDFs you can export, though, have great drag and drop features to customize the reports how you want them. The updates haven't kept up with their competitors, so if you're looking for only one product to use, Moz likely won't fill all your needs. The keyword explorer feature of this tool allows one to find new keywords for website. The biggest advantage of this tool is that it tells the keyword difficulty. I mostly use it for keyword research, but I'm just starting to use some of the other features like the Rank Tracker and creating campaigns to monitor. I'm excited to get to use these more! Pros The biggest feature I use and like is the keyword research tool. It's easy to use as you search keywords you can add them to a specific keyword list to download later. I also like that it gives you an overview of search volume and difficulty so you can see at a glance if you have too many keywords that are too low in difficulty score, too high, etc. and need to balance it out more. Cons I think the competitor analysis of keyword research is harder to do on Moz. With Moz you can see the domain authority of your company compared to competitors and their link strategies, but don't get as much insight into what keywords competitors are ranking for.
