The website is relatively easy to use and looks professional. Pros The Website looks professional and there are a lot of different options to choose from. It looks professional and of high quality Cons The templates are slightly limited and not always appropriate in terms of the images being resized and general layout. I will persist mostly because it is inexpensive to use. Pros Was looking for an inexpensive manner to get our recovery site on the Internet. Pixpa met that requirement. Needed it to be simple to use, on first use it seemed to be just that, simple and easy. The software did have a couple of instructional video's which were helpful. The posting of the site was well handled by my host and Pixpa, liked that. Cons There is not enough simple step by step instructions, the existing videos are not current to the software. There is an assumption that I as a user understand many of the terms used in website building. As the software appears to be only for Photo focused business there is little to indicate it can be used for other types of websites. I did see the potential, so went ahead with it Reason for choosing Pixpa Pixpa is a stand-alone software I did not need to buy WordPress or any other product. February 14, 2020 5.0 Before Pixpa I used Wordpress on self managed Digital Ocean plan for $5. It was fine, required much more effort to build and support the portfolio website. Few times in a year the site was down because of some unknown reason. Maybe some kind of virus or DDoS attack. I work in IT industry, but could not figure out wat is it. So decided to move to managed service. Compared multiple Website builders and Pixpa won for my needs. I am very happy with Pixpas speed, simplicity and cost. Pros Very easy and fast to build a portfolio website. The cost of $6 (billed annually) is very reasonable. The support is fast and relyable. I’m so glad I chose them. The website looks very professional and the software is very user friendly. It’s very reasonably priced and much cheaper than having to pay for all of these services separately. Pros I like that Pixpa houses all necessary services like website building, client galleries and selling images under one umbrella. It prevents integration problems and makes that you ultimately pay less. Cons Pixpa is very user friendly, but the website building software could be a bit more versatile in comparison to other big more general website building software. However I did not start with a template but with an empty site and managed in a few hours to get everything I wanted. That included favicon, custom branding and a blog. What brought me to that decision was: price, and also it was easier to use than some of the more well know and popular website builders. I didn’t need a solution for more than hosting my site, for narratives and projects and Pixpa seemed like it would suit my purpose well. I’ve been using Pixpa for a few weeks now and I am very happy that I made the decision to go with Pixpa. The support team at Pixpa have been fantastic – quick, efficient and knowledgeable, not mention courteous – they have been a pleasure to deal with. My main portfolio is on another website, however, I have been giving some thought to transferring it to Pixpa – mainly because of the support, but also the price and I like the idea of having the 2 sites with the same provider. Would I recommend Pixpa? It depends on your needs…if you need to host and showcase your portfolio, this is a great place to be. For the people I deal with, mostly photographers, the answer is a definite “Yes”. Cons I hope that in the future there will be options to customize slides shoes more - viewer defined times and also viewer ability to turn thumbnails on and off.
