Photographer Photography Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Great product in order to move faster with high quality web site" January 20, 2023 5.0 I was looking for a site to show my work as a photograph first, but with capability to grow in terms of functionalities (client galleries / ecommerce ...). Everything is possible with pixpa, and the subscription plan are well adapted. The key point and really tremendous part of pixpa, is not just the platform itself, this is also the quality of the support team. For any question they are there to guide you with the online help or directly by integrated chat. When the question or issue is a bit tricky you can be sure that they will escalade it an come back to you. You alway have someone 24/7 and as I work on it mainly night and weekend this is a real benefit. Pros The all in one approach. I did start with a first MVP of my website using a proposed template. Then quickly I did adapt it to my color pattern and specific structure. I love the client gallery that help me to provide private and secured access for my client. This is also an easy way to start selling this private shooting via the ecommerce bundle. I like also the notification of the activity. Now I am testing the store bundle in order to sell services and picture, the way it is made force me to think more on the product I will sell soon. So now I am more confident to start soon this new functionality of my activity. Cons The interface seems to be simple but you need to take time of the way the platform is embedded. This can be sometime confusing or not basic. But this is only when you want specific look en feel for your site. Maybe the link with certification services (trustpilot ...) can be enlarge to other provider and simplified.As a photographer I would love to have quality printing partnership in EMEA and France as this is where I am doing my business. Clients have had a seamless experience and love their beautiful image galleries. I have also been able to display my portfolio pages and have clients reach me through my website. Beautiful Client galleries that can be password protected, allow for comments and favourite-ing of images, the ability to sell digital prints directly from the website. Cons While there are numerous website build templates, additional templates are needed (Pixpa has indicated that they are working on developing more. Using the templates straight up is easy, however, if you wish to customise the templates significantly, it can become a bit challenging to adjust the various features since this is not a drag-and-drop build. However, there are very DETAILED tutorial walkthroughs available in the help section of the management area. In addition, Pixpa has EXCELLENT customer service. I have been able to get feedback real-time using the help chat feature, and have also gotten detailed followup via email within 24 hours. I chose Pixpa over Wix, Squarespace and Wordpress when considering who to build my website with because I liked the layout options, and Pixpa was an affordable price for me. Pros Using my website for Business opportunities is easy with Pixpa, because I can update my content so quickly for potential clients to see. The layout of the dashboard is simple and intuitive, and if I need support, the chatbot function is very helpful and responsive. People can contact me directly through the website, which bridges the gap between potential business partners and the question of how to reach me. " February 24, 2022 5.0 My experience with Pixpa has been emotionally very satisfying, largely because of their excellent customer service. The entire team has always been excellent at handling all my concerns and answering all my questions with detailed feedback, sometimes simply making the changes how I envisioned them. It is a brand that consistently exceeds expectations. Pros Simple, fast, visually appealing, functional, and easy to use. Outstanding customer service is an added bonus. I have created two personal websites and plan to make some for clients. Cons There are no real negatives. I have used many platforms so I have a good background to compare this platform with others. Pixpa offers the best value for the money, and the customer service is better than any of their competitors; better than Squarespace, Wix, and WordPress from my experience. I suggest maybe allow templates that is geared towards a funnel landing pages. It can be achieved with some advanced customization and coding but this platform would be a game changer if they had templates that simply allowed you to create that. May 5, 2022 5.0 My decision to go ahead with Pixpa has been one of the best I have made with respect to hosting my galleries and especially so with the functionality of a blog. By having this option, I am now able to add html5 + js in the Pixpa studio and showcase my interactive videos and see some good cash flow. Pros In addition to increased functionality from my previous host and substantially reduced cost (close to 60%!), Pixpa displays my galleries in a most pleasing and dynamic manner. There are numerous options for design elements and if you happen to choose one style that you soon become tired of, with a click you’re back to your original choice. The team behind Pixpa has obviously spent plenty of time in enabling photographers to implement a design layout that suits their specific needs. I have had many comments about how nice we look through our site - and that is because of the behind-the-scenes work and help we get from Pixpa. Pros This is a plug and play, complete site for photography. Everything you need (and more) is right at your fingertips. Want to create multiple galleries? Check! Want to create galleries within galleries? Check! Want to be alerted of an order? Check! Just want a place to display your artwork? Check! Want to create a blog with photo inserts, etc.? Check! Just about anything you can want to do as a photo studio is right here. Photo templates, SEO, galleries, shopping carts, client-only pages, etc. I looked at NINE possible websites to create the look and feel that I wanted as a studio photographer and artist. NONE compare to Pixpa. Cons I love most things. I really had to think hard about what I don't like. If anything, I would have to say that the web-building software is COMPLEX. I come from the computer industry and owned computer stores and ISP service. I understand web-building! But there have been times I have had to ask how to do something. The eCommerce section and where you sell your photos for print does get a little confusing though. However, I am still using another provider for client image galleries and purchases because it simply works better than picthrive. Pros It is feature rich and versatile. I really like how it integrates with my LAB WHCC. The client app are really a great product. -they should be made sell-able. Cons The pricing structure is good, but really need more value per tier or lower priced tiers for extra storage. Since your clients are paying for storage, you should definitely have video available for digital downloads. This will require more storage, and thus, you will need to be more competitive with storage plans. Images need to load faster, period. It takes WAAY too long for images to load. -video will need to be even faster. My clients are often confused about where their downloads are and how long it takes to get them. I also want the ability to offer souvenir albums, which I can not do. The send to client function is limited to 3 emails at a time... which requires multiple sends. After researching a bit, i narrowed down to Pixpa. I’ve to say, I’m more than happy and much more relaxed with what Pixpa is offering and i’m more than satisfied to endorse this platform. This is exactly what i was looking for in terms of my website partnership. They gave and suggested good option but allowed me to have control over the plan structure and provide smooth integration across all key platforms i was looking at. 2. No matter how much they simplify, creating website is going to have certain technical aspects (as they should to provide users with flexibility). Being in IT industry and slightly blunt, i tried to “Just do it”. Intention was, i should get errors and let me see how Pixpa help me with those. Plan was to see if Pixpa is long term platform or just short term. By god, i was up for treat. I got errors and i got step by step articles and videos to fix those and they worked spot on !!3. In my opinion and so far observation, Pixpa seem to have paid attention to minute details and accepted feedback and integrated it to make it easier for other people. Cons This is not exactly "Cons" but i work in software industry and i write complicated code for living. They have strong framework (which is how it should be). Unless you get grip on this framework, you won't be able to put foot down. In my book, that is not Con but actually a great thing. But for some, who doesn't have even 5 mins to read the articles and just doesn't have patience to carefully look at error and go to right link, this will be con. Pros I love how easy it is to change templates, customise layouts, and that their customer service is there all the time from within the editor. They also have added so much functionality on a continual basis, and have accomodated me as much as they can when I have a feature request. Cons Sometimes, the formatting has be done a couple times as a change won't stick or appears not to have stuck. Even when I had an issue they worked to fix it. Pixpa isn't something that I need to worry about while running my business. I'm thankful for that. Pros First its the customer service. I've worked with this software and I've had issues that they quickly resolved. I feel like I'm actually working with a team. I've built numerous pixpa websites for my friends who need a simple easy to use software to market themselves. To make my response simple.... All of my future websites will be through Pixpa. I'm obsessed with seeing my images on their landing pages. Cons I've been with Pixpa for a few years. So i've seen the version of the software that made me... let's just say, agitated. lol But they upgrade and made a tweak here and there to make it better for the user so my con is possibly the video hosting. Can I host my videos through Pixpa, instead of a third party? not sure. Reason for choosing Pixpa The photography benefits and online store capabilities. Cons I wish Pixpa would get cheaper after users reach 6 months, or 1 year, upon possibly agreeing on long term deals. I do not sell, so I do not use their shopping system. The customer support is excellent. You can work with a live chat line at any time. The support personnel are very quick to respond and are extremely helpful. They are as good (probably better) than any other provider. Pros Pixpa is very similar (very similar!) to SquareSpace but at a lower cost. There are some interface differences between the two and some things are better on SquareSpace and some are better on Pixpa. For me, I like how picture size is controlled with dragging a handle on the picture, rather than SquareSpace's very clunky spacers. Cons Sometimes it is not too clear where to make a setting or adjustment. Pixpa seems to put settings all over the place. But you get used to it. Also, there are sometimes that there seems to be some extra space that I cannot seem to get rid of. I am sure I am missing a setting somewhere, but that goes back to my first point. Photography Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Website builder for a retiree" May 23, 2023 5.0 I wanted to create a website where I could share my photography with family and friends, as well as others who are interested in my work. I was able to get my website up and running in less than 6 hours, which is not bad considering that I have no experience in website development. Their templates are simple to modify and the website editor is simple to understand and use. I am very glad to have found Pixpa when searching for a way to create my website. Pros The process of setting up a website for my photography was straightforward for me, even though I had no experience with website development. The chat function for customer support was superb, with friendly, helpful people on the other end of the line. They are creative in helping and are patient as I tried to explain what I wanted to do, or what mistake I think I made. The price for the website seemed fair when compared to other services out there. The system is quite flexible, allowing me to grow my website in the future and add other features/pages to my website. Cons While the examples and directions on how to do certain things are helpful, they are definitely geared towards those who know what is going on. I really like the ease of use and ability to have almost all features in one package that is affordable in pricing. If you are a photographer Pixpa is a no-brainer and support is just wonderful. Pros I really like the client galleries feature in Pixpa, which is a great way to deliver photos/files to customers. I also like many tailor-made features for photographers such as watermarking images if needed, right click protection and so on. Templates are impressive and customer support is unparalleled in its friendliness and efficiency and its available 24/7. It is that good! Cons There could be more storage space included in the basic plans and multilingual sites can be challenging to build (to be honest there are tools translate menus and other functions but in order to have a website running completely in two or more languages you may need to buy multiple sites/plans). " April 11, 2022 4.0 Excellent. I finally made a professional website for my artwork portfolio that was in my limited budget and it looks very professional like I had been envisioning. Pixpa helped me realize this long standing goal very easily with lots of assistance. Pros Price was the best considering that the templates were much better for what I wanted for an artist portfolio, than the other more popular web builders in the same price range. The templates are very good visually. Customer service is fantastic! They helped me with every detail when I got stuck, the time zone difference makes it so that sometimes there was a delay in response, but they usually respond right away, and always solve the problem and give good attention. The customer service really helped me so much and helped me customize some nitty gritty details whenever it was possible. I felt they went the extra mile for me. I think it is a site that is easy for people who are not tech savy like me, and again customer service helps you when you get stuck. Cons There were some minor limitations in the customizations that were possible that I would ideally want for my site, but I am still satisfied with the final site. Also I have yet to figure out the tax configuration for the web store, so the shop seems a little more complicated than I hoped. I'm sure the customer service may be able to help me, although because they are based in India I think I'm not sure how expert they will be in U.S state taxes, so worst case I may have to use another site for my shop and link to it in my website.
