I like that it can be configured for daily tasks that is very efficient. It is very time saving and can help reduce costs. Cons Customization is a requirement to make shortcuts. It would be nice to have more tools from third party sites as you only have the basics. Having to pay for monthly maintenance and upkeep can damper the costs. As I used it and learnt more about how the system works and different architectural details, it seemed more easy to use. Overall, we use it to basically create a sales order, delivery or purchase order to test our process in TMS system. ERP itself provides a lot of challenges of setting up an organization and integrating with another system is a challenge by itself. You can seamlessly integrate all your business functions such as human capital management, financial management, supply chain management, enterprise asset management, procurement etc. with one ERP software package. My organization installed SAP in 1999 and there were growing pains on the front end as expected but once we understood the functionality of SAP our negative attitudes changed and SAP was commonly accepted amongst all groups. The skeleton userface is a solid setup and provides enough of what we want to do as a company, but SAP is able to pull and tweak reports pretty much on anything we run and use. SAP is a lot like building blocks, it can be customized to whatever companies want although with a lot of pain so functionality wise I think it is enterprise standard, but 0 points for user experience. Later employees started using it and Management were able to see the whole company picture (in terms of financial info) accurately within a click.
