Comments: I have no complaints with this software, very convenient and easy to use.

Pros: I like the convenience of being able to request time off and also to speak with other associates regarding shift changes and/or requesting shift coverage. It makes it very easy to communicate with my fellow employees as well as my employer.

Cons: The format can be a little confusing at first. You have to look through all the sections, such as chats, requests off, availability, etc, in order to orient yourself. However, this is not necessarily a complaint as much as just simply learning the app.

Pros: My relationship with this app it´s a fun one. I do hate the fact that I get to see how much work I have in advance, but I also enjoy that when it comes to my work, When I Work always helps me to be on time or to be clear about my schedule. I enjoy all the information that it gives so I always know whats going on at my office. So easy to use and understand, and that just make this app perfect to be in touch with my work. I´m always counting the hours to my next day off with this app.

Cons: I actually enjoy this app very much even thought it always have so much control and power over the employees. Thanks to this, I always do my best not to be late.

Pros: I used this at a small financial institution. This was an easy way to share information with team members but required a decent amount of work on my part to upload all of the data since the organization had a separate scheduler.

Cons: Although it is helpful to allow individuals to see when they work, you don't get the information about who you're working with which may, in some cases be very helpful.

This a fabulous means to scheduling 19 workers during a multi event four day weekend.

Pros: We were able to color code different events during a long four day weekend and have students easily recognize what venues they were signed up for when they go to the entire grid to look at a block of days.

Cons: The icons at the top of the pages are not meaningful enough for me as a once every two week user to remember where to go to operate the software.

Overall: savings in time to schedule 19 workers for multi events during a four day weekend

Pros: The software is very easy to use. Even our older employees are able to learn how to edit their hours, and the app works great!

Cons: Sometimes it crashes and it doesn't log in my clock in time, but that's on a rare occasion now as I'm assuming that bug has been fixed.

Pros: Ease of use & how it can be done anywhere's & at any time really is on the go app scheduling system saving time and money ...

Cons: None at all there are absolutely no cons it's a system of the future ...... a must have system not forgetting the iPad log in which is great

Overall: The benefit of ring able to the. Rota system & set , section up all the different roles and simplify everything infact u can do a schedule aroufur business in a matter of minutes I love it

Pros: What do I like most? It's feature rich, easy to use, mobile apps, drag and drop, repeating features, vacation requests, employee shift trades, preset shifts.

Cons: As of now, I have no complaints. This software does everything I need it to do and does it very well. Highly recommended.

Pros: I like that I can send directly to an e-mail and phone number, or to just one. It's great when cancelling a shift. All my staff love the notifications when a shift is coming up.

Cons: I had to upgrade to allow more staff scheduling. I have several staff and in the beggining it was not allowing me to schedule all staff until it was upgraded.

Overall: Very easy to use

Pros: I can manage remotely and our entire staff has access to the schedule anytime and anywhere. This has reduced scheduling errors and saved time.

Cons: We do not use it for clocking in and out so I am not able to use all of the features available. I wish there were an alternative since we use a different system for employee hours.

Pros: Easy to trade shifts, easy read of the schedule, allows communication in app, great functionality in calendar apps

Cons: Very expensive vs programming Google calendars. Definitely only worth it if your staff is too large to just do print out schedules

Helps me know when I work were I need to be and If there are any openings for shifts.

Pros: It makes it so easy to clock in. I can know my sifts are and if there maybe any openings. It also nice to see who is working with me

Cons: I dislike the GPS I don't like my job to know ever place I go. It does not give privacy. I don't like that you can't deny shifts

Pros: When I work provides the best system we¿ve tried for our employees to manage scheduling in a self service portal.

Cons: The user interface is not super customizable, but this is pretty much just nitpicking for trying to streamline everything into company branding.

Working with WhenIwork has been a tremendous experience.

Pros: The user-friendliness of it, and most of all the quick support that goes along with it. Using WIW has greatly reduced the Payroll clerk's time and has allowed the employees easier access to clocking in and out when working offsite.

Cons: The fact you cannot vary the overtime based on different employees. Also, sometimes the mobile app gives trouble, hindering clocking in and out.

Overall: Time savings and easier management of off-site work times.

Pros: Use this app all the time. Great for keeping track of when I have to go into work and how to log my hours

Cons: There have been a lot of bugs in the system. Nearly missed some shifts because of this. Not the best customer service to address these problems

Pros: easy to use! makes doing staff schedule much easier and saves alot of time then using excel. would recommend to any business owner or manager.

Pros: customer service is good online (emails, messages), easy enough to set up, ability to choose various categories to offer different services to different audiences of clients

Cons: not much more effective than most other scheduling softwares out there. I didn't enjoy the complexity of having to setup various iterations of the same services, depending on how I wanted to receive or send confirmations. very limited look and feel.

Makes scheduling extremely easy and my employees love it!

Pros: I like that I can have shift templates so I can easily assign a regular shift in just a few clicks. It will also give me the total number of hours that they are being paid to work and I can assign the length of the break.

Cons: As a free member you can not schedule for more than a week out. So if you do your schedule on Tuesday for the following week you can only do the schedule up until Thursday. Too bad that once you start a week the following week doesn't become available to schedule.

Overall: Being able to easily put together a schedule for my seasonal employees and see the number of hours they are working. No more guessing and doing the math in my head. No more trying to find a calendar and attempt to piece together options. This just makes my scheduling process so easy!

Pros: What i like most about this software, it help you to organize your work schedule, and you can add some days that you won't be available to work.

Cons: What i like least about this software, it is very difficult to set up your schedule and complicated but after getting used to it, it will be easier for you to manage it.

Overall: I used to help my co working to set up their schedule, cause they were so confused about their schedule.

Pros: I can See all of my staff in one area and can use tools like creating templates or copying a week. I can Have different schedules for the different areas where I work

Cons: There are some things When I work does That add extra unnecessary steps. It also can be slow when you have lots of users.

Pros: It is really easy to use and employees really like being able to see their schedule and coworker's schedules/time off and that they can be notified when something changes. Setup was really easy too, and so is the maintenance of positions and shifts - so much better than paper calendars and pencil.

Cons: The time tracking doesn't meet par - there are gaps in what you should be able to track - like someone on a 4-10 schedule needs to have different OT parameters than others ( not possible to do).. things like that.

Pros: I love that I can see my shifts, get alerts, and clock in/out all in the same place. It's also very easy to use and navigate!

Cons: Sometimes it crashes! Also, it's hard to "approve" shifts - you're supposed to check a little check mark in the top right corner, but it's really hard to know that unless someone's told you. Also, I wish there was a feature to alert you an hour before your shift.

Pros: I like how they have an app for smartphone users and it is pretty simple to use. Customer service is responsive and extremely helpful. You can switch and change shifts easily and quickly. You can also block off days that you do not want individuals to take off!

Cons: The least favorite thing about When I Work is that it does glitch when using google chrome or google related products. I only used this system for a few months so I'm sure they have fixed a lot of the bugs by now.

Pros: It is very easy to use and the customer service is great and there when needed. It was difficult at first but only because it was new.

Cons: There are no cons for me at this time. I would recommend this software to with no current complaints.

Pros: Easy to use and staff love it. Goodbye to paper print out schedules and spreadsheets.
Staff can clock in and clock out from their phones. Too easy.

Cons: More staffing analytics would be a great feature, integration with more pos systems and cost of staff per hour vs. daily revenue.

Pros: ease, functionality, rollover capability , copy and paste function, excellent customer support. Staff really like the app function of the software. I prefer to do things on desktop, I enjoy that. I can easily add/remove/assign staff as is necessary. I can block days easily. requests arrive immediately.

Cons: it is more expensive than other similar products.
I cannot limit each employee's availability (I called and tried, found a solution, not best, but still a solution)

Overall: it is not THE answer to scheduling numerous part time staff around their shifts, but it is definitely than paper or excel spreadsheets. staff can access everything remotely and easily. Drop shift and pick up shift function is great. I have just started tracking hours and I really like that feature.

Pros: I can finally focus on the aspects of my job outside of scheduling and staffing. When I Work has given me my time back, so I'm not stuck working late on schedules.

Cons: For the price of free, it's hard to complain about this software. If you need help implementing budgeting into your scheduling, though-you might need something more advanced.

Pros: The UX design, it's really easy to figure out use. Also, it has the features I need, to show people's availability and the ability to notify people easily about their schedules.

Cons: I'm not very aware of how employees see my messages. For internal message, if they don't have the app is it an email? But other than that it is a great software

Pros: The accessibility! I am always on the go so having the notifications and the app right on my phone makes my life so much easier. I also like being able to pull documents such as the requests off as well as being able to send direct messaging to my staff.

Cons: It was hard to get used to at first just because it was a new system. But once I was able to get my questions answered and have some time to train, I thoroughly love this system!

Overall: Easily accessible and a way to keep in communication with all of my staff from just a click of a button.

Pros: I liked that this software was easy to use. pretty much easy to navigate through and easy to make schedules on. This also has a time clock feature built into it for employees to clock in and out.

Cons: I can not say that there is anything that I do not like about this software. Its really appealing and caught my eye when I found it.

Pros: When I Work is great (especially for my department) because our schedule is always changing to provide service to our customers 7 days a week. The time of our shifts and the 5 days we work during the week are always changing. When I Work is really useful in organizing the teams' schedule and shift preferences.

Cons: I have no legitimate concerns with When I Work. We never use the chat feature. Also, we use another software to request PTO and a different software to clock in and out. It would be nice to see all of these feature on one software platform.

Pros: When I Work has an abundance of features and is intuitive in its design. The mobile friendly platform is an added bonus as you can work from just about anywhere. It is also easy to collaborate with other platforms seamlessly.

Cons: If you need many reports for tracking purposes, When I Work does is lacking in this area. Also, the pricing structure is not as budget-friendly. The least expensive tier only covers one location and five users.

Pros: I like that there isn't a physical box or station I need to be at in order to clock in at my place of work. The group chat function is nice so it is easy to separate that from your regular messages app on your phone.

Cons: It is not the most user-friendly app. It almost looks outdated and it took me a while to get the hang of it although I am pretty tech savvy and use many apps.

Overall: Being able to clock in, out, and communicate with workers with general ease. It is a more organized way of running a business and defeats the purpose of emails which can get annoying.

Pros: I love how easy this software is to use for all of my employees and myself. It has taken scheduling to the next level and I can't imagine using anything else now!

Cons: Honestly, I have not found anything that I would really complain about. The only thing that would make it easier for my personal use is the preferred work time could be a little easier to see with all my employees. I would like a generalized option for them instead of a daily change.

Pros: It's great for keep track of employees, work schedules and hours worked by coworkers. It helps to create great boundaries with employees and communication so no one is confused about each other's hours.

Cons: It's pretty busy interface. I wish it wasn't so hard to find the schedules for the week/month. And if you aren't the admin there is no way to request or make changes quick. It is a process to get things changed in the software.

Pros: The ability to schedule employees and chat within the team seems really useful for a remote team that doesn't see their manager too often.

Cons: few glitches have put a major wrinkle in our scheduling; too many alerts sometimes; had to get creative with the positions and shifts to fit what we need

Pros: This is a very user friendly software. We are able to quickly create, edit, and distribute schedules to our large staff. We love that the staff can quickly submit time off requests, send us messages about their schedules, and even drop/swap shifts if necessary, within moments of the schedule being published.

Cons: When I Work is a very proactive company, and they make software updates often. The only bad thing about this is that it can some time for us to adjust to changes that are made, and occasionally there are small glitches. But overall, I would say I am more satisfied that they are proactive in expanding what the software can do, than I am disappointed in these occasional issues.

Pros: I am using this program to displace a work schedule to my staff. Most of them are connected to devices and this program allows me to push out their schedule, rather than posting it. They are also able to request off for shifts, which is helpful!

Cons: I wish you could schedule more than two weeks at a time. I only use this program for a season job and it doesn't allow me to advance to the days I want, until 2 weeks out.

Pros: The app keeps scheduling very organized and makes staff communication easy and affective. However, helpdesk should be made open without logging in for those having login issues.

Cons: Password reset link does not work. No info is given on how to fix this problem. Customer Service info is hidden, cannot find anyway to get answers from helpdesk without logging in. Ive been trying for two days now needless to say I'm just going to stop using the app.

Pros: It simplifies communication with staff and freelancers, pushing updates to them en masse. It is an attractive UI and the app functions pretty well. Support is responsive and communicative.

Cons: The permission levels need a lot of work. They are limited and global so you really don't have much control over who sees what. You can't copy a shift from one week to the next, this seems kind of basic, especially if an event spans multiple weeks it's inconvenient to have to build the shift twice. It would also be nice to have the ability for someone to view a schedule at a location other than the one they are scheduled at...for example, someone in one office wants to see if someone in another office is scheduled to be available or not without showing up in that locations schedule. Currently this is not possible.

Overall: Scheduling of our complexity is more or less possible with this software. It would be a huge headache otherwise.

Pros: It does most of what one would hope for from an online work calendar. It's free version is great for basic functions. It's paid version can be very useful, given the needs of the company.

Cons: It has its limits. Over time, I believe these will be improved. Recurring calendars are only on the paid version.

Pros: This one actually works for construction contractors that have multiple projects/ locations. Easy to add a location with address and notify the employee of schedule and a link to the address/ map of schedule. Employees can see other employees working on the project and arrange to carpool. Templates, copy schedules. super easy and effective scheduling program.

Cons: Allow the employer more control over the employee settings and options. Allow disable of selecting preferred work hours, allow disabling request time off. Improve social platform, texting, messaging.

Overall: Daily, weekly scheduler that actually works and gets used!

Pros: I how intuitive the app is. Allowing to assign a person to multiple different rolls helps A LOT - especially in IT business.

P.S I'd like to go on a statement that I would not be mad if any of your swag finds its way to me.

Cons: I'd really like if drag and drop was a bit smoother when it comes to switching/re-assigning shifts. Its nothing major but I feel if the transition was smoother it would add a lot on the value of the product.

Overall: Running big departments with over 15 people requires a tool like WIW. It makes your life easier and the life of the end users.

Pros: Customization for your business, being able to create different positions and manage employees based on hours or dollars. Ability to copy schedule from week to week and avoid scheduling conflicts without having to keep up with each individual employees personal schedule. Updating the schedule to show shift swaps when they happen.

Cons: Viewing the schedule is sometimes confusing, due to having to set the location each time to filter out employees from other locations.

Overall: Ease of use and flexibility. Mobile app allows for employees to view schedule and set reminders.

Pros: When I work is a flexible program that I can expand as my need for staff grows. It is super easy to use for management and staff.

Cons: When staff want to request time off, there is not an option for them to put in for a request for time off only to change their availability. Also they can only put in availability for one time per day so it they are available to work a split shift they are not able to indicate that through this program.

Pros: "When I work" is extremely easy to use. It is user-friendly and allows a manager and staff to keep track of the schedule easier than a printed calendar version. The staff is able to switch shifts and you are notified. It is a great resource.

Pros: It's kept simple and easy to understand to use. To change settings for certain employees is easy and other employees have used the app easily logging from their own devoice or the one from work.

Cons: The only flaw we have experienced is when the location/gps is on for clock in and out it will state employee is not at the correct location when they are at work.

Pros: I love that I can add multiple locations and select which employees should be able to be scheduled at each location so I can bounce from one location to another and see if I already have them scheduled at another store, and total hours scheduled at all locations. It's also a real plus to have employees be able to log in and block out times, or days they can't work or submit requests for time off. They can also put shifts up for someone else to take. Saves me so much time when someone is sick or calls out.

Cons: I have not had any issues with using and I have been using for over a year. So as of now, I have no cons currently. Sorry to disappoint!

I can offer open shifts in one place with out having to make a bunch of phone calls.
I really like the budget feature, so I know how much payroll will be per day.

Cons: Other than wanting to publish more than one week at a time on the free version, there are no downsides for me!

Pros: The ability to schedule employees and chat within the team seems really useful for a remote team that doesn't see their manager too often.

Cons: I haven't had much opportunity to test, since any use of the app functionality was locked behind a paywall. I was not allowed to see the product before a purchase.

Comments: We made a great decision to go with this software, it has made scheduling so much easier and more productive. The employees are able to select the shifts they wish to work more easily. Cut down nearly half of the email traffic.

Pros: The software has the capability to view schedules for employees daily, weekly, and monthly, also allows you to select by job site as well and customize shifts.

Cons: I am unable to enter multiple shifts when using the app whereas I am able to enter and entire month at a time on the desktop site.

Pros: Simple, easy, and intuitive way to create work schedules. Keep track of your schedule on the go with the When I Work App. There¿s also a way to set up time clocks so staff can punch in and out of their shifts to keep track of hours worked. Staff can also request days off or to switch shifts with a fellow employee.

Cons: With the most recent update, setting daily availability seems to have been removed and only setting availability for the week is possible. Definitely something easy that can be fixed with another update though.

Pros: This app makes it SO easy to look at my schedule, swap shifts, and chat with my coworkers about shifts. The user interface is simple and easy to use, it gives me a notification of whenever the new schedule is sent out. It's also free!

Cons: My only complaint would be email notification from not "clocking-in". I don't use this feature on the app, we clock in at the company. I have since turned notifications off, but only because my company tracks hours clocked in on our own different software.

Pros: Having just started working in the nonprofit world I have found this app very useful. When planning events it can get very frustrating and disorganized when scheduling volunteers to come to our events. There is a mobile app which gives everyone access to see their schedule. Pros: How easy it is to copy & change shifts between employees and weeks, and that it notifies employees of open shifts and then can grab it themselves. Keeps me on track with shift covering :)

Cons: Work chat notifications are only available on iPhone, not Samsung or others. It is hard to reach all of my employees in one medium as some cannot receive group text, some don't have Facebook and some don't check their email ;/

Overall: Saves time scheduling, and paper ;) Easy for employees to reference their schedule or change availability while not at work and instead of relying on me to give them answers at any time of day.

Pros: I love that it automatically syncs with my phone calendar. I don't have to worry about forgetting shifts because it reminds me with plenty of time. It's easy to trade shifts and talk to coworkers without exchanging phone numbers. I like how simple it is to say which days/times you're available and if you have preference on some shifts. Overall this is a great, great value.

Cons: The group chats can be a total pain, but thankfully you can adjust notification settings. It can sometimes be difficult to manage the schedule based on how the admins have pay periods set up, but once you get used to it, it isn't anything more than inconvenient.

Pros: Super easy for employees to use, switch shifts, see and acknowledge schedules. I like being able to save a schedule template or copy a previous week's schedule.

Cons: It is too easy to delete shifts and there is not an easy way to see the history of what you have deleted. I also wish it was easy to have a manager be able to approve shift swaps but the managerial approval function does not work the way I would like (you approve before someone else accepts)

Overall: easy to use for scheduling and clocking ina nd out.

Pros: It is EXTREMELY easy for the end-user to utilize this software. There are also some pretty good mobile applications that it offers which makes tracking your schedule very easy!

Cons: There are a lot of overly-helpful tips and suggestions that constantly spam the administrators' email accounts and scheduling interfaces. (Essentially the company does this to assist the administrators, but there is no way to stop it, which makes it very annoying after awhile). The mobile application can also be buggy at times, and the website schedule does not work properly on mobile phones that don't have a "desktop view", as the website does not have a mobile version designed for it. This forces you to use the mobile app on mobile devices unless your mobile phone can display it in a "desktop view". On a normal computer interface, this works just fine.

Overall: Scheduling is EXTREMELY easy! Long gone are the days of paper postings and random email messages. It is VERY nice being able to reference your entire schedule from the moment it is posted, going all the way back to your initial employment. Even those with little to no computer experience can use it fairly easily.

Pros: I'm able to view my work schedule quickly and from anywhere. Also, being able to view who else is working during the work week.

Cons: Making time off request can sometimes be buggy and not go through. Also, if you could add a comment to your employer on a shift that would be great.

Pros: All of our locations are in one spot and no more driving to get the time sheets, the app is convenient, and our employees like that they aren't having to keep up with their time. They just have to remember to clock in and out.

Pros: Easy to set up and use. No upfront costs. Good support, although nothing ever goes wrong. Easy for employees to use. It's also great there is a mobile app, as our employees work at our customers' sites, and not from an office.

Cons: On repeat shifts, it would be useful o not have to set an end date. My shifts run on for years, and the maximum time you can set one for is 1 year. So every year I have to rebuild the shifts, which is time-consuming.

Overall: control of employees working at multiple customer sites

Pros: This app makes it extremely easy to swap your work shifts with other employees if they're interested. In addition, the app allows employees to painlessly request time off from their employers. A notification is automatically sent to the employer so that the employer can approve the request.

Cons: I don't find this app to be as useful on Android platforms as it is on IOS platforms. Sometimes, the system is a little too slow when it comes to locating my GPS location.

Overall: I am able to view any schedule changes on the go and I can easily switch my schedule or request any time off.

Pros: The location feature makes it easier to keep track of when employees actually are ready to work. Also the push notifications are nice to remind employees to sign in if they have forgotten.

Cons: Customer service has not been helpful. It is difficult to get in touch with them and they do not return emails very quickly. Also, this doesn't work well with Android phones.

Overall: Easy of use for employees. It also is great for payroll and figuring out hours.

Pros: I absolutely love that they have an app for both androids and iphones. It is very easy for our team to be able to check their schedule straight from their phone. I'm not sure if they use anything else other than the app.

Cons: The interface is a little slow and takes more than then it should to go from page to page. Sometimes the back button deosn't work.

Overall: Everyone is easily able to check their schedule straight from their phone. Would recommend this to any company looking for an employee scheduling program.

Pros: When I work is the easiest program I've ever used for scheduling. There are so many functions to this program that you can't go wrong. You can send texts, emails, and other various alerts to tell people what their shifts are and any updates or comments that go with it.

Cons: There is nothing I don't like about this program. It is so amazing! But if I have to be real picky about it I would say that it could add a copy and paste functionality to it for copying work schedules.

Pros: This product is super straight forward and very user-friendly. It is very easy to use the scheduler as well as keep up with employee hours on the Time Tracker. You can easily edit attendance if your employee forgets to clock out and sending messages to the whole group is super easy with the group message feature.

The online based platform is great and the app is the perfect way to post the schedule without having to send out emails of spreadsheets etc. Notifications come straight to your phone regarding scheduling changes, shift swap requests, time off requests, and even when your employees forgot to clock in. Notification alerts are easy to change in settings. There's even a setting to get a reminder 2 hours prior to your shift so in case your schedule is constantly changing, its so easy to keep up with it!

Cons: The satellite/gps location isn't as good as it can be with regards to clocking in. Sometimes it will not let you clock in due to being "too far away" when you are standing right at your work. The app sometimes freezes up when clocking in/out or takes a while to process a clock in. So then when you press "clock in" again, it'll actually clock you out.

Pros: The ease of the program. It was very user-friendly. Scheduling used to take 2 hours, but it was cut down to 30 minutes with WhenIWork. I love that I could customize the shifts. I especially loved that employees had to acknowledge their shifts. There was no more miscommunication that an employee didn't see their schedule. It's also been a great tool to get staff on the same page. The ability to message everyone at once was awesome. Plus the program tells you which employees have viewed the messages. It also has the option for employees to clock in via the app and you can link it with payroll. Employees are able to submit requests for time-off or vacations. Everything you need is in one place. The customer support team is available immediately through their live chat. They have always been very helpful and friendly. Absolutely a wonderful program!

Cons: The only thing I would modify is to have the ability to block off certain dates for requests. That way an employee wouldn't be able to request off Black Friday for example.

Pros: Love the ease of the software, super user-friendly. Also, like that it is easy for all generations to use. Love that all requests can be made online, helping to eliminate paper.

Cons: Would like to see more options for tracking employee hours as far as the reporting goes. Also, other features like tracking employees who work different positions, and being able to report on those hours. Also would like for it to track employee hours who no longer work with us anymore. Don't like that once the employee is removed from When I Work, all of their history is removed as well.

Overall: Being able to go paperless was the biggest benefit. Also, the ease of the software makes it easy for Supervisors to make schedules and track hours.

Pros: The ease of navigating the app. Being able to put the scheduling software directly on the phone of the employees is outstanding.
We also really enjoy utilizing the messenger tool. Its a great way to speak to everyone in an efficient manner.

Cons: We dont like the add drop portion of shift scheduling and changes. As a management staff we would like to use this but it has been difficult to create a process do to implement this do to it not requiring a manager approval.

In the meantime, we do have a way to turn on 'Manager Approval' for Swap and Drop requests. This means that when the Swap and Drop request is made, the request will first be sent to a Manager to approve before the request is sent to other users to pick up. The Account Holder or a Manager can turn on the Manager Approval setting for Swaps and Drops from their 'App Settings' section via the web. They will then need to navigate to the 'Scheduling' section of the App Settings to enable Manager Approval. Comments: Generally a good app that has helped both myself and employees get organized. It does get confusing when employees try to create custom availability and often the work chat freezes on me or just doesn't when I'm trying to reach my employees for an important matter. I will soon need to add another employee, however the price to upgrade to 6 employees will no longer be worth it to me as I can switch to an app that includes many other features (invoicing/payments, client calendar, better notes/logs, customer service and booking, client reminder, etc.) for better value.

Pros: Easy to use, saves a lot of time rather than creating a manual schedule, has some great features. Employees find it easy to understand and I love the clock in/clock out with gps tracking.

Cons: I need more features, has some glitches and doesn't work or freezes sometimes when I need it most. The cost is too high to upgrade just to add more employees. I would be happy to pay more for more features but it will start to lose it's value soon as my business grows.

Comments: When I Work takes a lot of up front data entry to get your company initially setup, but after you should be scheduling smoothly.

Pros: Beautiful interface. You can schedule employees based on skills and availability! This is very helpful for employees who have multiple qualifications or skills. Employees are notified via the When I Work app, or SMS.

Cons: A lot of setup required. Importing and exporting could be overhauled to offer more customized options. It is almost impossible to edit employees on a batch or global level.

Pros: The simplicity of scheduling through drag and drop features, drop down options, and custom creations.

Cons: Regarding time off; a 'custom' time off option would be appreciated. My company operates with sick time, holiday, vacation, comp days, and more when organizing employees' paid time off.

Pros: It's fun and easy for my employees to use. There are fewer missed shifts and we spend less time managing schedules than before.

Cons: I think you're approaching feature creep -- too much stuff packed into a tiny space. Please keep a close eye on the UX.

Overall our team has loved using When I Work and recently transferred over from another offering. It's easy to use, Love the use of roles and repeat schedules and time frames for roles. Good stuff

Cons: They push hard for upgrades and won't let you opt-out of such messaging. They also have do not have as robust of a schedule export/print and email feature as it lacks customization. They could also provide alternative sort options within the scheduler. A basic feature they still lack.

Overall: We use WiW for the weekly and daily scheduling of our distributed 24/7 support team. It allows us the ability to create repetitive schedules while leaving the flexibility for employees to input time off requests and set days they cannot work.

Pros: The ease of making schedules, the ability to copy the shifts and move them about the schedule. The ease of setting up new employees.

Cons: The chat freezes up and does not always work when using Google Chrome. Need more reports, like exporting the shift templates so that they can be easily edited to avoid having duplicates.

Overall: The ease of using and the ability to get the budget and cost of labor information.

Pros: I love that employees can indicate when they are available and when they are not available. I love that they can put in requests for time off which helps me not rely on myself for remembering. I love that there are additional features for rate of wage. I like the attendance and I can see if employees are showing up late or getting into overtime. There is a budget feature which I have not used but think would be very helpful in the future.

Cons: I wish that I could have the option of excluding some employees when sending a general email through WIW. I also wish that open shifts were always a different color especially when looking at the schedule by position. This would bring my attention to the open shift and alert me that someone is needed. I wish I could publish an employees schedule out for more than 1 week.

Overall: I think scheduling would not be managed as well without this software.

There is not a way to automatically change the colors of the OpenShifts. Instead managers would have to manually edit the OpenShifts and change the colors on the Scheduler page. Comments: I disliked this software so much that I actually ended up going with a different scheduling software, even though I took the time to set up an account and have staff input all of their information.

Pros: This software does make it simple for employees to swap shifts and request time off. It was fairly simple for staff to enter their information. It was also pretty quick for me to initially setup.

Cons: I found this software exceedingly hard to setup. It was difficult to use properly and was not worth the effort.

Pros: This tool is great and helps you see how much you are spending on payroll and can let you customize roles. Very helpful for a business that has employees in various places and with mobile options.

Cons: The ecosystem isn't always as smooth or as intuitive as it could be. For some scheduling tasks it seems like you have to make a lot of extra clicks to get a job done.

Pros: Feature-rich, flexible, mobile-friendly platform. Has a modern, intuitive user interface (UI) backed by ample training, help, and support. Open application programming interface (API) lets users share data with payroll, Point-of-Sale (POS), and other people management programs.

Cons: Doesn't offer as many reports and direct integrations with payroll and POS vendors as some competitors. Cheapest price only covers a single location and up to five users.

Overall: When I Work is a full-bodied, attractive shift scheduling platform that works well on phones and desktops, and offers shortcuts and templates that help speed up scheduling for managers, giving employees more power over when they work.

Pros: I love the chat feature to ask someone directly whenever you have a question about the product. The staff communication features are awesome.

Cons: I don't really know how to suggest features. I also don't like that I have to pay to use the test messaging feature.

Pros: The ease of use and specific scheduling features. The drag and drop features and the copying of shifts or whole weeks is wonderful. I love that you can see any requests or availability right on the day you are scheduling.

Cons: I wish you could cleanly print a whole month. It doesn't print as nicely as a week or day. We have just enough staff for there to be a day where some people won't make it onto the month schedule when printed. It's really the only flaw! I have to export and create a word doc to see a full month and I don't want to split my team in half :/

Pros: I can check on scheduling from the office or remotely, which is so helpful considering my other "office" is an outdoor pool.

Cons: It was a little tricky at first for my young staff to get the hang of, but once they did, it was great.

Overall: easy communication with staff members that ranged from 14-40...not any easy task to get everyone on the same platform!
