Comments: I have been extremely happy with wheniwork. It has been a huge asset to our company.

Pros: User friendly and easy time tracking. Happy and helpful staff to assist with any questions or concerns. They get back to you very quickly when you contact them.

Cons: The program itself is great! I just wish they were also able to document on employee progress, history, etc.

I have reviewed other scheduling services and this one met everything I was looking for.

Pros: Very intuitive. Quick customer service response from chat. Can access from any mobile device including an Android app. Employees like it. I know as soon as the employee sees their schedule.

Cons: One thing I liked least about the product is that the free version provides just enough functionality that you need to buy the basic to really get a feel for it. That being said, any reservations I have are gone

Overall: Saved a lot of time scheduling shifts for full and part time

Pros: I love the ease of use. I think it is great that all employees have access to their timesheets all the time, and that their schedule is easy to view and read.

Cons: I do wish there was an option to round the time (our company rounds to the nearest .25 hour) It would really make payroll easier.

Pros: We love the fact that our employees can access it on their phones. Our employees are college students, so being able to use it on a mobile device is crucial. Our old program didn't have that functionality. I also like that I can go in and move someone's shift to "open" for any other employee to accept. Since our employees are college students and anything required for a course is excused from work, so it is really nice to be able to go in and move a shift for an employee that has an exam or something like that. I also like that employees have to acknowledge their shifts.

Cons: Two things - I can't go in and schedule just one person. We are on a college campus that operate on quarters. I would like to be able to look at an individual schedule for a certain time period and edit it as necessary, but that functionality doesn't exist. My employees are frustrated with the notifications. It is great that someone can do a "drop shift request" that goes out to all of the other employees, but it is frustrating to get 10 emails about that. We (mainly our hourly employees) wish there was an option to get the notifications in a digest once a day instead an email for every single notification.

Overall: It saves us a lot of time. We have 130 college students that work for us and they are always swapping shifts or need a shift off for an exam or something like that. They can do all of that through When I Work and I don't have to be the middle man in any of that anymore. It also helps hold them accountable. It makes them acknowledge their shifts and tells them that they are still responsible for the shift until someone accepts it (and notifies if/when it is accepted). It is nice that they get that reminder every time they need to drop a shift and I don't have to find them and remind them all of the time.

Comments: Its super easy to use, and track hours for yourself and employees. Really makes the clocking in thing, super easy!

Pros: Makes clocking in and clocking out a breeze! Seamlessly come in and out, with no old school paper or mechanisms.

Pros: Very intuitive. If you can use a computer, you can use this software. I love the fact that my staff can use the work chat to get their shifts covered. No call no shows and last minute call outs have cut down dramatically since we implemented this.

Cons: I honestly don't have anything bad to report. I wish I could organize how my staff shows up in the scheduler so I could group like positions together in how they see the schedule, but that's minor.

Overall: Time it takes to schedule has cut down from several hours a week to barely an hour a week. Less last second call outs because of work chat. And my staff loves having their schedules on their phones!

Pros: Ease of use for creating and sharing shifts to employees. Colour coding is great. Notifications are great. Also, support team is already really helpful

Cons: Difficult to copy individual shifts from week to week; no way for staff to see who is on their shift with them unless they can see the entire position; mobile version is not great

Pros: Very easy to use even for a non techie person like me. All the employees appreciate being notified of their original schedule and any changes by text.

Cons: The only thing I can think of that I don't like about the software is it would be nice if it were less expensive. Also if we have really busy days and the employees need to clock in earlier it doesn't allow that.

Pros: Rather than an employee emailing the rest of their coworkers to get a shift covered, they just drop a shift in WIW and the other eligible employees get a notification. It's awesome, and has saved all of us from getting a ton more emails every day.

Cons: I wish there were more options for viewing the schedule, and it was a little more user-friendly on the app for doing on the go shift creation, but otherwise very few complaints.

Pros: Do not have to add up payroll hours. Should be able to sync with my payroll software Gusto to make processing payroll seamless

Cons: Easy to use, but not super intuitive. Could not initially see employees hours in order to edit missed or hours that were not calculated properly

Pros: It is incredibly easy to use. Love the chat feature for the staff. The Attendance option is a great tool as well.

Cons: A little challenging to create repeatable shifts. Some times entering and publishing shifts through the app don't get sent

Pros: It's a simple and easy solution for scheduling. The managers Like being able to view on a computer , staff use the app to see their schedules.

Cons: The is no where for managers to make notes on employees regarding that schedules. - example while an employee did not show up to work - if you use the shift notes every is notified . Haven't yet been able to see if you can create a small group chat - example only managers.

Pros: Easy of scheduling. I really like the intuitiveness of the product. The support is very responsive as well.

Cons: Lack of integration with google calendar. This would be an even better way to streamline use. Sometimes, there are bugs too.

Pros: I loved the tutorial to get me started. I love the price point the service is at and we love that the app is so user-friendly! I have student staff that tell me all the time how much they love our new system of scheduling!

Cons: I did not like the clock in feature but that was because we use our corporate offices system for that. It didn't serve me a purpose.

Overall: I cut down on the amount of time it takes me to schedule students that are always swapping shifts and am able to easily approve request offs and track them!

Pros: The ease of everything - viewing scheduled time, actual punch-in's, even budgeting! It is easy to make changes and the chat support is a great feature I have used numerous times.

Overall: Real time punch in/out for employees, keeping tabs on our payroll budget costs which is helpful when scheduling out the work week.

Pros: It is intuitive, functional, and effective. The software allows me to easily do what I want to do as a coordinator without having to be a programmer as well.

Overall: Cut out a ton of time with BS scheduling "solutions" and calendars that are not as effective as WhenIWork.

Pros: Self sufficient approach to letting my staff swap shifts and drop them. I really like being able to put our events on the annotation.

Cons: When you're listed as unavailable, you can't see the dropped shifts and few on my staff would like to just pick shifts up and not be scheduled on a regular basis.

Overall: Efficient way to schedule and keep track of how many were staffed for different events.

Pros: Ease of use and cost are definitely the best aspects of When I Work. Onboarding new employees is a snap and allowing the staff to clock in and out with the app makes their lives a lot easier.

Cons: I would like more reports although there are several reports available. Being able to run reports with more filters would add value for me.

Pros: I love how easy it's made my scheduling and payroll. I highly recommend it to anyone that owns a business!!

Cons: I don't like that the customer service is chat based only. I wish I could actually talk to people at times. It would speed up the process

Pros: I love how easy it was to learn and to use. My staff consists of mostly teens who all have smartphones, and it's great to have everything in one app that they can download. They can check their schedule, request off, and contact me all in one place. It has eliminated a lot of paper for us, as well as frustration in trying to get in touch with people who rarely check email. I used to dread making a schedule each week, but When I Work makes it simple!

Cons: The chat function has trouble loading pretty frequently, but usually fixes itself after refreshing it.

Pros: The new update that allows me to open up my app and see todays shifts right away. Makes looking at my daily schedule so easy.
I also like the ability to create holiday schedules and save them as templates.

Cons: Maybe Im just not sure how to do it but I would like to be able to click on a shift and change the persons name who the shift is assigned to. Currently it only allows me to change the location, hours, job title (I think).

Overall: When we first opened our business 2 years ago we were doing the schedule on a spreadsheet. It took hours. Now I can schedule 40 people in 5 locations in about an hour! Additionally it allows us to be more professional and accurate. I also love the new app update that when I open my app it brings me right to todays schedule as opposed to before when it brought me automatically to the start of my week.

Currently you would have to drag a shift to an employee's cell if you wanted to change who was working that shift. There is not a way within the shift details to do that. Pros: I am able to change things on the go, even on vacation, and it's a great tool for people to change shifts around. It takes the responsibility off my shoulders, and that's nice. Also, people being able to acknowledge shifts is a great thing.

Cons: Some small tweaks would be nice, like copying two shifts at once (more than one, but not a whole week).

Pros: WIW is incredibly easy to use. The app is fantastic and the desktop version allows a bird's eye view of an entire week, which is phenomenal! So much easier to read compared to Google Calendar or the many schedulers based upon it.

Cons: The GPS feature can be a little wonky, depending upon location. Also, I really really really wish there was a client-facing side for folks who use WIW to schedule client requests.

Overall: WhenIWork is beyond easy to use. The setup is simple, employee on-boarding is easy, scheduling is a breeze and timecards are quickly completed.

Pros: Continual improvement to meet the needs of clients. The changes that have occurred over the last 3 years have improved our workflow and continually allows us to do more with scheduling and payroll. Reports that export to Excel/google sheets, budgeting, etc. WIW has allowed our staff the continuity it needs to be successful.

Overall: Made a very difficult task of scheduling multi locations and multiple staff members much simpler. What used to take several days of labor can now be done in a few hours, and we are 4 times as large as we were when we started. WIW has helped with that growth because of the efficiency in scheduling and budgeting our staff hours to fit our need.

Pros: Multiple locations make it easy to schedule multiple people in multiple food trucks. Everyone works in all of the locations, and they are available to all.

Cons: I would like to have all of the locations available at the same time, so we could move people's shifts from one location to another. Only reason it is not a full 5-star review.

Pros: The customer service has been the best part about this software. Along with ease of usability, this is the best use of my money!

Cons: The only thing I wish I could do is pay with an invoice since I am part of a large company, I hate that I have to pay out of pocket and get reimbursed.

Overall: It allows me to spend more time on things that really matter instead of using a whole day to do scheduling.

Pros: I can repeat shifts and complete a schedule in a few minutes instead of hours upon hours. Adding and deleting employees is as simple as a click of a button. The shift reminders for all my employees is amazing and it helps to keep people on track and on time. No more confusing notes of time off requests. Each user controls there own personal time off requests and swap with others if need be.

Overall: Time, energy, proactive employees, and better money management.

Pros: What we like best about the software is the ease of use. Employees can see and take shifts and we can manage hours for payroll through it. It has saved us countless hours of stress and has made our entire system flow more efficiently.

Cons: We need a search feature for job sites within the schedule. We work on different sites and sometimes we need to track or find a shift by job site.

Pros: Very easy to use. Drag and Drop scheduling makes adjusting on the fly very quick. Requests for time off and shift changes are all easy to see. And i Love the Dashboard for quick weekly overviews. We also love the "in-app messaging"!

Cons: When we first started using the App, there were a few little things that kinda bugged me, but I've since communicated with the When I Work Team and they've made a lot of changes to the program that make those issues disappear. Customer Support is great.

Pros: It's functionality. The ability for our entire staff to be on the same page, when it comes to schedules! It really puts the power back in the employees hands, and keeps them accountable for scheduling--making for a better work/life balance!

Pros: Allows staff to have up to date access to schedule, manage their own drops and swaps, and pick up open shifts. This frees up a lot of our supervisors' time that was previously spent on manually scheduling staff.

Pros: The user interface is easy to use, everything we need to track has it's place. The software is extremely customization to whatever business situation it is used for. The color coded shift blocks are great and I also love the usefulness and functionality of the mobile app.

Cons: The main issue is getting people to use the app properly. This is more of a training issue and making society stop using sticky notes and paper. We do have a lot of need for tracking missed check-ins, but this is also an employee issue. ")

Overall: Great for managers looking at the schedule, great for employees having a mobile schedule and for producing our payroll data.

Pros: The ease of use. It's extremely convenient to setup schedules for everyone and have them immediately notified. We're so small we don't even need flex scheduling and all the other advanced features, but I've poked around and the whole thing just seems so smooth and seamless.

Cons: Honestly, I'm having a hard time coming up with any negatives. Back when we started using it, it was a bit more difficult to do things like split shifts or move things around, but all that's long gone.

Overall: Incredible streamlining of our scheduling flow.

Pros: Create's a standard line of communication between management and field personnel. Also helps the field personal to be prepared for their next task.

Cons: I work on the road a lot. The program is much easier to schedule personal from the desktop than it is from using the app on a device. Although it does not affect me all the time, it would be nice to see an interface on the device that was more similar to the one on the desk top. At least just for scheduling.

Overall: I work on small and large project. When I work helps to project how long man power will be tied up on large project, which helps forecasting, cost of labor, project schedule, when we can schedule the next project. On small projects is makes a clear line of communication between the project manager and the field personal, so that everyone is on the same page when it comes to scheduling.

Pros: I love that it just keeps getting better and better with time. The added features and benefits are awesome and extremely useful.

Cons: The only thing I wish is that employee time off that has been used, would be tracked and easily accessible.

Overall: Managing employee time sheets and also being able to copy previous weeks when there are no team member requests, and even when there are, it is still completely easy and user-friendly to manage.

Pros: User-friendliness and clock-in/clock-out feature that is tied to the IP address of the location employees should be reporting to.

Cons: No PTO accrual. Integration w/ Quickbooks Online is not great with the payroll module. It does not split the hours into Regular, OT, and PTO categories. Makes the process still much of a manual lift when paying employees.

Overall: Better controls over time card monitoring, audit trail, and better PTO system then we were previously using.

Pros: Gives me a heads up on my scheduling and integrates easily with my payroll software and other apps. Because of the iPhone integration, I'm able to keep an eye on when employees are working and where as well as when they forget to clock in or out. I can instantly find out who scheduled to work each day and send them reminders as well as open shifts that need to be filled.

Cons: There's nothing I don't like about it, but I do wish there was a task management feature. I would love to be able to assign a complete a task list that would prevent them from clocking out until it was done.

Pros: Loved it from day one. Very scalable and worth every penny. You can use part or all of their services. Plus if you have any questions or issues, their customer service is like no other.

Cons: Worth every penny...just a lot of pennies. I wish the group chats were easy to control on adding or removing people. Also, you can't delete the group chats, and they end up getting a bit cumbersome. With all of that said. Can't complain.

Pros: The price is very affordable. It was very easy to input schedules and the program allows you to keep the schedule layout for employees that have set schedules. The feature I love the most is that there is an app that my employees can download to view their schedules. The app also sends you notifications about your schedule. Its a great software that I wish I had at every place I've worked.

Comments: Aside from lots of manual adjustments that managers have to make, I still love how I can process payroll through this system. Overall, I highly recommend When I Work!

Pros: I oversee seasonal programs at 3 different locations across 2 states. We love the scheduling features (which other products I've used have). This is great, but nothing above the norm. I love the "Attendance" feature, which allows me to control when and where employees can clock in. For example, parameters can be set to only allow an employee to clock in (on his/her phone app) within 10 minutes of a shift, and 100 meters from their shift location.

Cons: In New York City, where we are in and out of the subway system - the location feature rarely works. The app is much more accessible for iphone users than for android. I, as the owner/administrator (iphone user) never have an issue clocking myself in, but my employees VERY OFTEN do, making this less ideal. Even though we've sumbitted many help/support tickets, we still have not found a resolution to this!

Pros: My company often requires us to schedule a number of employees for various assignments all across the country. We are also required to schedule backups in case issues arise. In addition, we may be required to make last minute changes for any number of reasons. When I Work took the "headache" out of a challenging scheduling process. In addition, the web based format made it very accessible to our staff regardless of their location.

Cons: The cons for When I work are minimal. The pricing structure should be modified to provide a few more features at the base level and more users.

Good tool but a bit tough to navigate for a first time user

Pros: I love being able to instantly share schedules and schedule changes with employees on the corresponding app. I also really like the time clock tool that allows employees to clock in and out on a work station or their phone app. Very convenient. Text help was quick to reply during regular business hours. Reasonably priced for my business type.

Cons: I am a first time user of this type of program. I did not find the set up to be very intuitive. I also felt a bit overwhelmed by the barrage of email and text tip messages I received in the first few days. I think it would be much more effective to ask the client if they would like a one on one Q&A/setup tour to address the personal needs of the business rather than peppering tips hoping something applies to the situation/business. Also, my business operates only at night and on the weekends so that is when my employees and I have questions. Text support is not always available when I need them which can be very frustrating.

Overall: Easy schedule sharing and time tracking.

Pros: This is a great app for anyone who has a fast paced, on the go lifestyle. I enjoyed being able to adjust notifications accordingly so I received a weekly email of my schedule as well as a reminder the morning beforehand. Its also very easy for managers to build schedules. It gives you the capability to save layouts so you can repeat them if needed or store them for a later time!

Cons: It was a bit hard to swap shifts between different employees if there was any sort of conflict (hours worked, specific days, etc), but overall great app!

My own schedule as well as my staffs changes constantly. When I work keeps me updated of changes.

Pros: It saves our company time/money. Our office manager used to do scheduling manually. Our tour business depends on weather, so when a tour is cancelled it affects our scheduling off staff as well. WhenIWork makes the changes go very smoothly. I also like getting notifications.

Cons: There are a few features that aren't necessarily intuitive. I'm sure they have an instructional video or something but I couldn't be bothered to watch it.

Pros: My employees can use the app to get alerts and check their schedules. Employees can swap shifts with my approval. The time card is integrated into the schedule app. It is somewhat easy to use. We have used this software for about 2 years. When we first started with them there were not a lot of options out there. And it served its purpose. Our employees seem to like using it.

Cons: There are several cons. I think the price is too high for what you get. Trying to process the time cards is very cumbersome and not very easy to understand. We run 24 hours a day and this software is not well suited to a 24 hour clock. Overall I spend too much time trying to understand how to use the time clock - punch in/out- and it is really frustrating. Also- their customer support is really pretty horrible. There is not a way to call someone and you have to submit an email to support and it can take them a bit to get back to you. Issues with time cards are things you want an answer for right away and they do not offer a quick response. Also- you really have to use a desk top to process the time cards and it does not function so well with google chrome- I think safari works better- but I prefer to use chrome. There are glitches with it that are just frustrating.

Overall: Initially it was a good solution for employee scheduling. We added the time clock after about 8 months and it has served its purpose. It allowed us to not use a google doc to schedule employees. It is a a good scheduler but not as great of a time clock.

Pros: The dashboard is intuitive. I was able to onboard my company and train my employees the same day we signed up and under the free plan. There were a few specific functions I was looking to implement and after a very quick and helpful response from their support staff I decided to upgrade to the basic plan which is meeting our needs perfectly. The support staff followed up our phone call with an email with even more training videos and FAQs that were very helpful.

Cons: The one thing I hope to see changed is to allow employees different clock in options. Since some of our employees have different work situations, like working from home, I'd like to be able to specify each employee settings rather than having to work off a global setting.

Overall: Our team is a bit unusual in that we all work various hours and often from different locations as we travel. I like that it allows us to easily keep track of everyones schedules and hours. We also often bring in temp employees for seasonal work and this system makes it really easy to add people and allow them to clock in and out. We also really appreciate the integration with our pay roll company. One less thing for our office manager to do is always a win!

Pros: I like the "drag & drop" functionality when creating schedules. Also, easy to switch between shifts/locations. Templates are great, too!

Cons: Some pages are slow to load. Also, some features aren't as intuitive to find; I've 'stumbled across' a couple of great features after several months of use.

Pros: The ability to add locations with maps, this is critical in the event industry. Love the app, both for staff assessing and for me to input away from office.

Pros: I like the way its setup.
I like how easy it is to use.
I like customer service and emailing help is available whenever you need it.
I love the price for the software is affordable.

Cons: How hard it is to set up a work schedule for your self or your current employees.
How hard it is to figure out how to use this software program.
How complicated this software program seems at first but isn't once you figure out how to use it properly.

Cons: Not all employees were able to use this on their mobile devices. Only used this for 2 weeks of what i thought was a free 30 trial. When I tried to cancel two weeks into the offer i was told sorry no refunds via email. Three different people responded with same auto text. No personal service. Now i have to dispute charges through CC company. This is horrible way to handle this. This make me more skeptical on online services than ever.

Comments: I wish this application existed when I had my first hourly gig. The application replaces the needs for printed schedules, post-its, and desperate text messages saying 'please switch schedules.' Comments: We had about 100 employees signed up for When I Work at a time. We had 4 different groups of employees(servers, bartenders, kitchen, and security) that were all signed up for the same account but were placed in different locations. This worked out great because the managers could see all of the schedules and if we had employees that worked in multiple locations it was easy for them to be added to both.

Pros: Their customer service reps are very willing to work with you to set up your account and answer all of your questions afterward. It's very easy to use and easy to show employees how to work their accounts. Employees can also put what shifts they prefer to work and ask off in the app.

Cons: Harder to make the schedule from a cell phone. I would recommend using a computer if you have a lot of employees. We didn't use the chat function on the app at all.

Pros: Looks slick, appears to offer a lot (which it does, at a cost, see below...) Customer support is very responsive - live chat, email, etc. I may not like their answers (see below) but I can't fault their timely attention, their patience, their attentiveness.

Cons: 1. Pricing Practices The page at wheniwork.com/pricing says nothing, just that schedulling is free for less than 75 employees (and anything over is a "contact us for enterprise" price, which is fine). Great, I think, I'll sign up, start working with it. Glad I didn't invest much time. I set up a few employees, downloaded the apps, started working out the wrinkles. And after a few hours of looking, and testing, and reading, it looks good, but... ...then I discover that basic features like scheduling more than 10 days ahead (!) are paid-for. So is time tracking. Etc. That's ok to charge, but not ok to deceive - and there's *no* simple way right now to see a comparison of features and costs before getting signed-up. And this is not a small bump. You can't bolt-on a little extra. To get a proper working app, the minimum number of users they offer 20 minimum and the time attendance module adds something like 50% on top. But really it is transparency and deceptive practices that have *really* turned me against this product in a *very* short period of time - and that is *very* sad. If they'd allowed me to choose up front to devote my time, great; but they didn't. I had to ask support what "long-term scheduling" meant (that being something not included in the free plan). That means more than 10 days... No other warning of that, that I could see. I feel deceived. 2. App Reliability Others have mentioned glitches. I started working with the iPhone app - it stopped working for some tasks. I contacted support who said it was restricted to my account only, and they would get their developers to look at it. So I stopped using the iPhone app. My wife's Android phone wouldn't recognise her (valid) phone number when accepting a request to log in. So 2 strikes there. Your mileage may vary. 3. Limited Integrations A few years ago, WIW posted on their Facebook page that they used Xero. Some commented then - why no integration? No answer. Years later, still no integration with Xero. No Zapier integration, either. The cynic might think that WIW gets kick-backs / referral fees / bonusnes from Quick Books, Gusto, etc. which is why they're the (very limited) integration "partners". There's an API of course, if I had time. Again, I'd forgive that for a free / cheap deal. But it isn't a free / cheap deal *for a working scheduling solution* - a schedule that doesn't reach into next week is *not* a working schedule. So, yes, I'm annoyed. I feel like I've wasted my time. I feel like I've been deceived. I feel like I signed-up and invested time based upon what is almost a lie. And that sucks - not least because it was so needless. The product isn't awful, the pricing (whilst I may not like it) isn't the worst out there. The limitations are limitations, but every product has some. And that, really, is sad. The silver lining is that the free plan only launched yesterday. So perhaps they'll think again about the offering. And my experience is unlikely to be the same as that people had before me. But it is what it is today - so much so that I've signed-up for GetApp just to leave this review.

Comments: I signed up for the trial of the scheduling side of the app all the while thinking that I was also getting the time and attendance function as well. Big surprise. A price for the scheduling and I have no idea how much more for the time and attendance part. When I tried to add the time and attendance part the website wanted to charge me another amount. I sent them an email (there is no phone number to call to talk to a live person) explaining this and was told the system would only charge me the correct amount and if it didn't, they would refund me the difference. Really? Is this the way to do business with your customers. The app works sort of, but not for this amount of money. I would rather use a spreadsheet than have to deal with poor customer service and these surprise pricing issues. My advice, look somewhere else for a solution and save yourself the headaches.

Comments: Overall works well, sometimes the apps glitch and my guys cant clock in, but thats been happening less lately. Overall very satisfied.

Comments: my staff and i LOVE "when i work" app. It is so easy to use, i love the flexibility of changing schedules, of being able to link different venue location with maps, as well as on screen confirmation for my staff. My Staff love the mobile aspect!!! This app has really helped me to stream line my Staff planning.

Pros: Ease of use for both administrators and employees

Cons: Guess if I HAD to pick I would say it would be nice to change the color scheme.

Overall: Love this product. They are always working to improve and see where there is a need for improvements. This team is very in touch with their clients and it shows.

Recommendations to other buyers: Great for employers and employees. They have easy access to their schedule as well as co-workers information.

Pros: Ease of use and communication tool.

Cons: First time set up a little cumbersome but got the hang of it

Overall: We had only been using the trial version of the software for a week before deciding it was the right tool for us. In just a fraction of the time it usually takes us to build a new schedule, we had the app set-up and were already making changes and communicating shifts to employees.

I also like the fact that there are a lot of HR templates accessible to its users.

I would definitely recommend this app.

Comments: I have had to contact the customer service/help desk twice and opened a service ticket once. All 3 times they were extremely responsive and knowledgeable. They addressed my issue quickly and efficiently. Two times the issue was something I was overlooking and once they weren't able to get an answer right away but followed up.

Comments: I had a challenge on how to document worker time off, system coding and replacement workers which I wanted to keep hidden from other employees. The WIW Wizard, figured a work-around that solves the problem!! It will allow me to keep all scheduling documentation in WIW which is great! Wonderful support!!

Comments: I am so grateful for When I Work (WIW). I was using other software prior to WIW, and didn't realize how much time/stress I was wasting until I gave WIW a try.

It takes some work to get it setup, but from there it's pretty user-friendly. The customer service is top notch, so anytime I have a question, I can send it via chat and get a helpful response within minutes.

WIW is also very aesthetically friendly, and the app makes it incredibly useful for my workers. There are a few functionalities I wish they would add, but it's not deal breakers. I have communicated these desires to their support team, and they sent it to the programmers. (Like, having an area where I can see all OpenShifts on the desktop version. Right now, it only shows OpenShifts that I personally am available for.) I really believe that they will add these features in the future.

Comments: I like several aspects of WIW though the pricing seems a bit high, and I'd like to see a few more options. Namely, I'd like to be able to know the total hours for one person's shift while creating it as well as the ability to communicate with the team with the regular monthly fee.

Pros: Great clocking in software with great integrations and accountability.

Cons: Cost.

Overall: We did a test run with When I Work but the only thing that held us back was the cost. We loved all of the features and integrations. With the new law that was supposed to go into effect for salary overtime, this was the perfect software to choose.

Pros: Has more features that are useful.

Cons: When I move between camps schedule on the app, the screen tends to jump to random days. I have to realize it has done that so I don't start looking at the wrong day. I jump back and forth a lot depending on what is going on so it can be annoying to keep readjusting what day I have landed on. I also would like the headings for days to be bolder so I can see when I have scrolled too far easier. Instead of the light gray background, perhaps do a dark gray with white writing like the total hours are.

Overall: I jumped on to ask a question today through the chat feature and my rep was not only quick to respond but she really knew the answers to all my questions. I had been getting frustrated with the feature early on for messaging due to the 1-2 hour time frame for responses and because I didn't feel I was getting the information I needed from that customer service rep. My rep was just the best. Now I can get back to doing what I need to accomplish our first payroll through When I Work!

Cons: you have to download another app....and it can be bothersome if you're included in conversations you don't need to be on

Overall: When I work is great for sending messages for quick response amongst a team, especially when working remotely. Also good for on the spot problem solving with your team. All in All great group communication!

Cons: Didn't work for event's business with primarily off-site catering

Overall: We were unable to justify the cost and make the work arounds functional for our catering business. It is really designed for places with somewhat regular schedules and one (or more) locations. Off-site catering, not so much.

Comments: Wow. what can i say. When I Work is an amazing, easy, efficient, and by far after 20 years in scheduling have I never found a program so easy. I just added the Attendance feature and When I Work help chat was responding to me in seconds, and every resolution they gave me worked!! Not only is it an amazing tool for managers, but your employees will LOVE being able to see their schedule any time and everything gets documented for you in the history! Thank you so much to our reps for being a huge help to me. TWO THUMBS UP!

Cons: No title option on top of the page.

Overall: Pretty straightforward, but has the details I need when scheduling. Saved my sanity for the past two years. I love the repetition option, which means that my schedule is done throughout the year with tweaking for vacations and days off only.

Hopefully, there will be an option to put a title on the schedules as we follow a week 1 and 2 schedule.
