It kept our calendars in sync and did the job. Gave landlords a view of their schedule and payments and kept them updated.

Avoid – Unfair Billing Practices and Poor Support I’ve been using Hostaway for a while, but my recent experience has been incredibly disappointing. I contacted them back in April to reduce my listings from a large number down to just 5. Despite having clear written proof of this request, they failed to take action and continued charging me for the full number of listings for two additional months. Now, they’re telling me I need to pay June’s invoice (at the inflated rate) before they’ll reduce the listings—even though I made the change request months ago. To make matters worse, they’ve locked me out of my account, seemingly to force payment for services I never used. I’ve submitted a formal complaint, but at this point, I’ll be moving on to another platform. This kind of behavior—ignoring clear communications, continuing to charge unfairly, and restricting access—is completely unacceptable. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Very good so far. The onboarding process was thorough and comprehensive. The software opens up many opportunities for us a business. There are a couple of areas in which more flexibility would be hugely helpful (eg around multiple night discounts and check in time as described above).

Excellent onboarding process with a very diligent onboarding specialist who took the time to talk through things carefully and in detail.

Cons

Some components are a little bit inflexible (e.g i would like to offer discounts on multiple night stays during the week but not at weekends, and we couldn't find a solution for this). Secondly, I would like to continue offering 3.30pm as a check in time which bests suits our cleaning schedule and customer expectation, but they only give options for 3pm or 4pm.

Overall the sales pitch was misleading and oversimplified the process, several months were wasted and we suffered a three month loss of cost before we could even integrate. Once we started integrating we did get more help and were very pleased with our onboarding specialist, \[sensitive content hidden\], who was patient, helpful and responsive.

The layout is easy to use, the calendar is easy to use, the YouTube channel with training video and industry topic videos are very helpful, the smart lock integration.

The timing of the onboarding was rough, it would have been much easier in our slow season but we were assured that it wouldn't be a problem. Not so, and when we tried to post pone for a few months by cancelling and then sign back up when we slowed down, we were told we would have to pay for the entire year's contracted price. Also, the VRBO integration had bugs and issues and did not work for about 3 weeks to connect, during that time we had a double booking and had to cancel on a guest for a reservation over the Thanksgiving Day weekend.

### "A long but thorough process"

For the last 2 years, I (and my little boutique hotel the Dream Weaver in Puerto Peñasco, Mexico) have been with under the umbrella of a different company while awaiting our documents in Mexico. I like Hostaway's tools and performance. For the last month, I've been working on taking our listings from Pisolino Rentals (the company we've been under for the last 2 years) to create our own account. Hostaway support team has been incredible in helping me do that. Almost as good as the support I have been receiving from Airbnb. I have been disappointed in the Sale part of things where emails sent were not answered. I chose Hostaway because I was led to believe that they are the best - and I can't judge because I haven't tried anyone else - but being a small boutique hotel, it was difficult to be left "hanging" in our operation during the switch over, while everything needed to be set up. Given all the hours I spent preparing for the change over, I assumed it would have been accomplished more rapidly however, the team members helping me in doing this transfer have been simply fantastic. My technological challenge and lack of knowledge about the transfer / integration may have partly contributed to my frustration (and dealing with banks in Mexico!!!).

I was able to follow her instruction, overcome challenges and successfully complete that part of the work. Giving the fact that there was more to be done, she set up a follow up call to complete the rest and make sure that questions that may come up meanwhile be answered at our next meeting. Very understanding of my situation, they have accelerated the integration process, scheduling meetings as quickly as possible and that is greatly appreciated.

Evaluating the whole Integration process: I didn't realize how much work there is to be done and how long it takes. I did MANY hours on my own to get everything ready and it still took a long time. I don't think this is a CON but rather a fact but this took me by surprise. I have found frustrating to have to follow directly myself with support of the partners affiliated with . It would be simpler if the integration of EVERYTHING that needs to be done to be onboard could encompass ALL aspects. The last point is I didn't feel I was given all of the alternatives/choices in setting up ex: it was Stripe automatically with integration but in emails received, there were other alternative to Stripe that may have warranted a look at.

Pros

N1no helped us- he was very kind, patient, and explained the issues. Most importantly he suggested solutions as a work around. He went above and beyond to help us find an answer and worked with his manager to send us communication to help facilitate an Airbnb cancelation without penalty.

Cons

It was frustrating to email with two separate support staff, both of which said our booking windows were opening up due to something we were doing and offered no answers or help with the Airbnb cancelation.

### "Terrific Tech Support Experience"

Pros

\[sensitive content hidden\], 's support representative, was spectacular this morning. There were several issues with owner reporting, and he was able to walk me through a solution and and explanation. I'm thankful for his problem-solving skill and the way he gave me words to help an owner understand her reporting.

Cons

I'm not sure why the formula needed edited in the first place. It seems that it should have been an update or in place already.

We had such a great experience working with our agent! He was ere incredibly patient and knowledgeable while helping us set up our listing, walking us through every detail step-by-step and making sure everything was configured correctly. Their professionalism and calm approach made what could have been a stressful process feel smooth and easy. We truly appreciate the time, attention, and care they gave us. ’s platform is incredibly intuitive and well-designed; it makes managing reservations, calendars, and messages across multiple platforms effortless. What really stood out, though, was the level of support we received. Our onboarding agent was patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping us set up everything correctly. The combination of powerful tools and personalized assistance made the entire process smooth and stress-free.

Cons

The setup process can feel a bit overwhelming at first because there are so many features and settings to learn. It takes some time to get comfortable navigating everything. That said, once it’s configured correctly, and with the help of their support team, the system runs smoothly and becomes a powerful tool for managing bookings.

### "Onboarding tips"

The overall experience has been good, but I’d like to share some feedback about the onboarding process. I think it would be much clearer and more effective if the onboarding were done over a couple of full days, with everything covered together under guidance. Right now, having short sessions spread out over time made it harder to follow the flow, some things were unclear, and we weren’t always sure if we were doing everything correctly. A more structured, continuous onboarding would help new team members feel more confident and better prepared, and it would also speed up the overall process, allowing potential issues to surface and be resolved more quickly. But he sessions we did were clear and helpful, just a bit too short.

Pros

I really enjoyed being part of a dynamic company that’s constantly evolving and focused on innovation. The platform is strong and impactful, and it's a real difference for its users. And it has Finnish roots!

Cons

Some internal systems and structures are still catching up, which occasionally is making the coordination a bit challenging.
