It’s like setting it up and forgetting about it, letting it do it's work. The machine learning and AI behavior capabilities are impressive. Pros This malware detection software is fantastic! It’s quick, only activates when it’s needed, and it also offers great device management features like disabling or enabling USB ports for approved devices. Cons Sometimes the Windows experience feels a bit slow, but it’s not too common. It would be great if there was a mobile app or a mobile-friendly UI. It is fast and responsive. I wish the update rules had more options Pros I feel I am in control; with other AVs, I feel I am just looking at logs. I feel I can find what I need and execute quickly on it. Cons NC integration failing to install is not easy to track. so there are PCs Missing AV we have to manually audit to find. I would 100% recommend. Pros The setup is very easy and quick. The security it offers is top notch. Network security and threat detection is a huge issue in the world and Sentinel One delivers. Cons I don't really have anything negative to say about Sentinel One. I guess the only real thing that was sort of annoying was that is can tend to "over flag" programs etc. that aren't actually malicious. I have used several other tools and they are just more price per agent with the same or less features. Pros I love the ease of use and vss rollback feature. We get our product through n-able and their support is second to none. Cons I have had trouble using their API. I would like to see better powershell modules & better ways of reporting. SentinelOne has verty small but powerful agent that gets deployed to your endpoints. From there you can literally see everything that's happening on a device. And that makes it possible for such a small program to perform miracles. Such as 1 click roll back when or if you got infected by Ransomware. I have been a loyal Kaspersky fan for many years but Nothing close to what SentinelOne can do. Pros The agent is small and lightweight. Does not require constant web updating. If perhaps you do get infected by Ransomware or a malicious malware. Worry not because the agent can perform a quick Rollk-Back event, Basically doing a System Restore to the last safe state. And Ransomware can't even overwrite or Damage system restore as SentinelOne takes over that service and space Cons They still haven't completely consolidated their Dashboards. So depending on the SentinelOne product or packages you purchase you will unfortunately have to navigate multiple Dashboard. June 12, 2025 5.0 When I'm downloading various assets and files for design work, SentinelOne gives me peace of mind. I know I'm protected as I explore the web for things to use in my designs. Pros The design of it is really cool. It's modern and clean and keeps my computer safe from viruses and other threats. Cons It's usually been a great experience! Recently it has this consistent false positive that's been stuck there for a couple months. It doesn't seem to be malicious, but I have to double check sometimes. Review Source MD Michael D. The metrics inside the console allows you to track in the portal and confirm endpoint installs. Pros The software was very simple to deploy and ran seamlessly in the background. We did not experience and system lag when it was running or see any user complaints about performance. Cons I guess it would be that the price was higher than another provider and of course having a recent security breach doesn’t help. All of the workstations with it are running well and it has caught and cleaned up several infections and issues missed by previous solutions. Pros Easy to setup and manage. Services work well and their protection runs silently without any issues. Cons The price, it is a little high if you pay for it directly. I would recommend finding a VAR or solution provider and have it bundled in with a RMM, then the price is much better. Pros Sentinel One is a top notch Cyber security product that saved one of our customers from a large wide Malware/virus threat. All machines that had S1 enabled were virus free and the other computers that were in transition were infected. Cons I the major con that I had issues with the S1 portal was deleting or uninstalling an endpoint or updating endpoints. I had to manually update agents and they weren’t updating on their own. Quite impressive detections of logs and new AI technology in modern worls. Pros 1\. Its autonomous endpoint protection, powered by AI, offers unparalleled detection and response capabilities. 2. Reduces the manual working of the organization security team. Cons 1\. Sentinel One doesn't have any uninstaller tools, if in case any endpoint is not connected to the portal then you don't have the option to uninstall. In the above case, the only option left is formatting the endpoint if you want to remove it from your endpoint. 2. Send what I want to highlight is that they don't have any knowledgebase available on google, how to configure, manage, etc. 3. The support team will take so long to resolve the issue. Cons Sometimes sentinelone does too good a job: it blocked me from installing iterm2 which is the standard macos terminal application. However, I was able to create a IT ticket and point them to the SentinelOne's quarantined folder and get the rules updated to allow for iterm2 installation. The simple UI with the access to the detailed product documentation, which provides comprehensive details needed for operations as well as troubleshooting. The support service, which responds rapidly and sorts out the issues within few mail correspondences. Cons They would require few feature additions in vulnerability management to compete with other leading vendors. Whitelisting catalog helps with common applications getting set up appropriately for customers. Cons As with other AI / Machine learning based solutions, there are false positives, and sometimes this can be tricky to get the proper exclusion in place. Reason for choosing SentinelOne This product was offered as an integrated option within our MSP platform. Review Source VR Verified Reviewer Systems and Security Architect Education Management Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Cost per feature and overall strengths is great" April 22, 2023 5.0 We don't have a lot of virus activity, but we do feel very safe with the detection AI S1 uses, and love the lack of false positives in our alerts that don't waste our time. The central management is nice, but almost TOO centralized, since if a device is "offline" there's not much you can do to repair the network stack or whatever it is that S1 does to kill the network connection. We've only had one instance in the past year were the network connection went offline and we could not get it back up and running with a repair or offline uninstall. May have been my own fault for not reaching out to S1 support since they are usually pretty responsive and helpful - this was a non-important server I decided could be rolled back manually from backups which resolved the issue. Pros The price point to get the EDR values is the winning solution for us. Crowdstrike was considered multiple times, but S1 beat it in our review when taking in price/value concerns, not to mention the alert values were more spot on with "real" alerts that wasted our time much less. S1 also ties in with tons of other services in the cybersec world with it's API options. Cons The occasional alert that's false-postive or the pulling-network-cord feature on endpoints that don't appear to have a lateral spreading virus. (Rare detection flaw maybe). The biggest gripe would be years ago if the S1 software had some kind of internal database corruption, rebooting our domain controllers could nuke it from orbit... thankfully, this has not happened for over a year and we're very happy now. Pros Sentinel One is very simple in deployment all the resources are available easy to understand for even a new user. the built-in architecture is very simple and the rollout agent is easy to deploy or pushing with 3rd party tools. When it comes to its XDR capabilities way ahead of all the traditional products, its Machine learning capabilities, and roll-back features, etc.. special comment for its storyline based on events and any incident that happens. Auto remediation capabilities are exceptional. Cons as the product has good capabilities but lack's in defining things deeply. building deep level policy fro endpoints or DLP based policy on products are limited. Endpoint-specific policies are not so flexible and also not feasible for some customers because of their price. We have had a few infections, which were caught and renediated, but nothing has given us any major grief. Pros Overall, Sentinel One is easy to deploy, easy to monitor and has many features that other AV solutions don't offer or only include at a higher price-point. If Vigilance is added to the subscription, you will sleep better at night. It is pricey, but, knowing that you have a team that responds intantly to an incident is priceless. They can remediate, investigate, roll-back and many other things. This has made my job far easier and I do sleep better at night knowing that someone is always looking out for my environment. Cons During our initial deployment, we had several PC's that had to be reloaded from scratch. This occurred when we began our initial deployment of Windows 10 in our environment. The version we were using caused the OS to stop functioning. Re-imaging was our only option. We reported, and were asked to try a newer version. No further issues and we only had a small handful of PC's affected. Only one other con so far....price. Sentinel One is not cheap, but you get what you pay for.
