We have received more on-the-go feedback from parents and families. As an organisation, we were also able to cross centres and set up spaces where educators from across our different centres to communicate e.g. we have set up a space for Ed leaders/ room leaders to share and reflect. Pros Makes Communications with families are easy. Creation of a curriculum is in a simplified format and all the appropriate links for EYLF can be linked straight to individual and class programs. I love the fact that my personal reports can come with me as I change employment, so long as I keep email address the same. I find it easy to use on the computer. And if anyone wants to see it, it’s at the click of a button. Pros It’s easy to log in and start when you are a new user. Pros It's an online forum that we have alot of whānau feedback and comments. Can include learning tags so user friendly and we can add our own. Minimal features ie colour background/font etc so don't phaff around on the presentation side of story too much. Cons can lose work as it doesn't save automatically, a few more features to jazz up the story, in the afternoons on a Wednesday we've noticed that we can't get on sometimes think there are too many users maybe? Everyone has been professional, polite and willing to help. We have experienced positive feedback from those we had aimed to target which is great. Pros Storypark has opened a new avenue for us to be able to share in the moment updates to family members in a safe and secure way. We have seen a quick uptake from families also who have responded to stories and even shard their own on the platform -this is heartening to see and what we had desired from the software. Clear, step-by-step instructions have been useful for all involved and I like the way you can use as many of the features or a little to meet your needs. The fact they can be linked and you are not having to repeat data is also a bonus. Cons I was a little concerned at first about the language used as we are not using this software for the target audience it was first designed for (pre-school and school age children) however this has not had a negative impact at all and if we continue to use and grow with this software this could be discussion we have down the line. Pros The ease of writing stories and getting feedback from whanau. I am starting to explore the portfolio. The help line is great. Cons Sometimes is very slow at certain times of the day. Templates can be a bit confusing. We are getting support and training from Lynne through our association. Pros I am not a frequent user of technology and was able to use the software immediately, it was very user friendly. Pros It is so easy to communicate with families about their children. Showing them snippets of the child’s day as well as being able to share all of their learning. Cons we Didn’t realise if the child went to a different school the accounts synced unless we ticked a box. I think this should be something we uncheck if we want to share the child’s information. Pros It is very easy to use when you have used it for a long time. The support is fantastic, very helpful and quick to make contact. I love that families find it easy to use and they use the family page to add their stories. In fact I set it up and trained the staff at the second service. I've found it user friendly and a flexible platform that can be used in many different ways. It's the backbone of my documentation and communication as a teacher. Pros I love that it makes it so easy to engage with families about their child's growth. Parents love the updates we share and they are easy to have conversations with in the comments section. I can easily work anywhere and show my children's work without printing all the time. I loved how it made us able to reduce the paper usage, enjoying being sustainable. Pros NO paper wastage. It is also a good tool in communicating with the parents and staff. I found that the support people were quick to respond if we have technical problems. Pros I find it easy to use. I like the vast selection of links available and the way it is group I like the way you add the title, write the observation, add the photos and then you can add analysis of learning at the bottom; or you can change the format whatever you like I also like how easy it is to link the story to the planning or in the child's all-about-me Cons When I am updating the all-about-me of the children to add educators or delete educators or add photos I have to do it one by one for the whole class. I have 31 children in our room and it took me ages to do it. I had to do it three times in last two months. I hope I can just select the Class name, edit the educators section, then it will edit each child all-about-me that are in that particular class. But Im not sure if its the way my centre set it up. Pros It is very easy to use. Our parents love it to be able to see what their children have been up to each day, as sometimes they are unable to come into the centre and look at the paperwork, so having this avaiable online is awesome. Cons There a few things i would like to be able to do with Story park but there are not those features...e.g: being able to design how our children's learning stories look on Story park. Pros I really love how easy the site is to use, finding material is a breeze even for those that are not technical this is for you. It is easy to use and takes very little time to get great results. Cons When the stories print they take too many pages. It would be nice to be able to condense to one or two pages. April 3, 2019 5.0 I really love this program. It has beneficial for our program to display what children are learning in care. Pros The website is easy to use and to navigate. I like that I can save pictures from my phone directly into a story on the website then use a computer to do the rest of the story. Cons The app is not as through as using the website.
