Pros: The most popular opinion from our staff is the ease of use with TouchBistro. The program needs barely any training assistance, staff picks up the location of menu items quickly, customers are impressed with the technology, and in a small space like our coffee house the size of the unit compared to our grandfather of a cash register we can host more treats for our customers.

Cons: We struggle with getting prompt response when in a stressful or urgent situation. Restaurant business is fast paced and requires immediate help, especially if we are stalled in being able to take payment or assist a customer in another way. Guests don't appreciate being asked to wait while we try to contact Touch Bistro unsuccessfully. Email response time is reasonable. We also struggle to offer emailed invoices directly from touch bistro without having to switch over our wifi, slowing down service. We are also struggling to have reliable synching on our online account to view sales reports.

Pros: Dashboard and cloud reporting. ease of use.

Cons: Technical support seems to be overwhelmed and you can rarely connect with them when you need them most. They try to get back to you within 24 hours, but in most cases that's too long and have significant impact on our business.

Overall: After researching the market for new POS system for my newly established Cafe/Bar I found Touch Bistro to be superior to many products in the market. It is cost effective, easy to use, doesn't require specialized equipment (Only Ipad, printer and cash till), easy to install and learn on your own and requires minimum training for new staff. One of the most important feature that many other POS don't provide is the dashboard and cloud reporting. I rely heavily on these data to manage my business effectively and efficiently. It provides a breakdown of sales performance over any period of time, connects to my accounting system and load sales data directly into my accounting system, has excellent integration with 3rd party apps such as 7Shifts for scheduling and Shogo for accounting. I'm truly impressed with this product and it's robustness. I have recommended the product to many other business owners and I always get the same reaction of amazement when they see the reporting it provides compared to the POS systems they currently use.

Recommendations to other buyers: Continue building it's reporting capabilities. I would really appreciate if Touch Bistro handle payment processing technical issues on behalf of their customers when dealing with payment processing companies. there seems to be disconnect between the two and many times i ended up caught in the middle between the two without knowing whose responsible to fix the technical issue.

Pros: Easy to use and train.

Cons: There's a huge list in my review.

Overall: First off: TouchBistro seems to be the best option out there for a full-service restaurant POS. We looked at everything we could find (that's available in Europe) and trialed the three leaders, and TouchBistro came out on top. We moved from an outdated local POS and have generally been happy. It works as expected, it hasn't had any catastrophic failures, and represents OK value for money.

That said, there are some problems, both with the software and with the sales/support:

- Frequent crashes when printing tickets (more than once per day). You have to restart TouchBistro, find your now-closed table, and reprint the ticket.

- No way to print invoices. This is required in most European countries and TouchBistro offers no way to do this. It causes us a big delay to have to generate one in Word and print it out for the customer. If they are going to sell in Europe they need to have this core function that other, more basic, systems offer.

- No way to print and charge part of a table. Missing is the ability to select various items, regardless of which seat they are at, and let me print a ticket and charge for those items. We literally lose 30 minutes a day moving items between seats for large groups when they want to pay.

- No menu support for multiple locations. Even though they have a page on their web site dedicated to franchises and multiple locations, the capabilities aren't there. Menus have to be painstakingly typed in by hand on the iPad (no cloud/web support) and while you can eventually move a menu from one location to another, it is a convoluted procedure involving a call to tech support. This was one of the selling points that attracted us to TB and they haven't delivered.

- No reporting support for multiple locations. You have to log in, view one report, then log out and log back in with a different username to see the other report.

- The localization (Spanish at least) is horrible. It's like Peggy Hill did it. They seem to have just run all the strings through Google translate and much of it is nonsensical.

- Impossible to update menu during service. If something runs out or a beer tap changes, you have to wait for everyone to log out.

We are going to stick with TB for now, but there is room for improvement.

Pros: Ease of putting in products + costs, assigning staff, third-party integrations (ie. 7Shifts)

Cons: Some of the reports lack in what they return, Reports should be fully automated, Crashes happen (though not frequently), hard to run in a building with no dedicated network

Overall: Touchbistro is an easy right out-of-the-box solution for all sorts of styles of restaurant service. It's fairly quick to set-up and support is excellent.

You can easily throw new staff to it and have them come out on top feeling like they understand how to use it very quickly. Intuitive as an iPad/iPhone program should be to new users.

Reporting is very good unless you're expecting TouchBistro to do a lot of the heavy lifting - it's good, but not quite amazing on the back end quite yet.

Be aware of how you organize your products early on for the reporting that you do get. It's only as good as the input and thought you put into it while your business is just a baby - that can come back to nip you once you have a better feel for both the software and your establishment.

Recommendations to other buyers: You won't find anything better on the market for a full menu restaurant for an iPad at this price point. Full stop.

For iPad soulution for busy restaurants, this is your answer!

Comments: I have a higher volume seafood restaurant in Key West Fl called The Stoned Crab. We wanted a system where wait staff could service multiple tables while taking orders with out having to go to a main terminal. After trying another system and seeing others that relied upon cloud support and internet we were left with a crashed system and back to basics. A good resturantuer recommended Touch Bistro, I can tell you things are now amazing, the systems works incredible off its own network(yes you loose internet and never skip a beat) it's fast, reliable and the customer support and tech can't be beat. I really lost faith in entering the market with iPads after a big faluire, but Touch Bistro made me a believer and goes out of there way to find new ways to give us data and programs that we want. To sum it up, if you want to increase service, business, effiency and have happy staff.....You just found the right system, take it from me who found then latter than sooner, you won't regret. Pros: Customer support, fast system, no internet needed to run, menu photos and special items to show to customers at table, data to watch your bottom line and a ton more.

Cons: No chip card swipe yet, I would say more program features, but when I asked for more they made more. I am having trouble with this part as the programming can be a bit tech, but they help you and then your good.

Recommendations to other buyers: Don't be fooled by reviews of company's that say they are the best, I lost money, time staff and I did not" revel"in the whole thought. Be smart do your home work!

Cons: I may not know about it, but would be great to have a text feature for guests to order from our pool side that can alert server to an order

Overall: Over all my experince has been good, I am just very frustrated with support. The tech support is on call all the time, it is the support from other depatments like billing etc. I have have on several occasions left messages for someone to call and have had no response at all, not even a call back or a support ticket to say they have heard my message. I waited up to one week before I called again. I live on the West Coast and support areas are east Coast so at time if I need someone they are gone for the day around 2 pm my time, and no one to help us in the west later in the day as needed. Voice mails don't say when person is available or best times to call or to call between certain times. No mention that other then Tech support the rest are off over weekends, if your catering to restaurant you need more support over weekends, would be nice to only be Mon-Fri as a restaurant owner, but never going to happen. it is all very frustrating and very much a huge hassle to get anyone when needed beyond tech support. I have been very unhappy in this area with Touch Bistro.

Recommendations to other buyers: need to be able to build walls for floor plans easier, and have the walls be more solid on floor plan instead of light faded area

Comments: TouchBistro is relatively easy to use for someone who has little to no experience with POS. It has a lot more functionality than something like Square, but it still utilizes the familiar iOS user interface and makes training staff/customers easy. Additionally, set up is easy, as it uses Apple Airports and a mac computer, which are all easy to purchase and use. However, if you want to get more technical, TB is not for you. I work in a large restaurant, and we wanted to build a better wifi network for customers and our office as well as POS. As part of this, we installed new access points to provide a strong signal for a very large room. When we wanted to set up TB to work off of the new APs, their customer support refused to provide assistance, and will only work with you if you're using Apple gear. Not only that but the support was slow to respond throughout our time using TB and often didn't provide helpful advice. Usually, the errors we'd experience would correct themselves after TB's engineers released an update (i.e. after a new version of iOS would come out), but we'd lose a lot of money in the process, with system outages and bugs. Overall, I would recommend you either stick with the tried and true simple solution (square) or spend the money and go up to one of the traditional POS systems. If you're set on a more advanced tablet system, I would recommend Toast over TouchBistro.

Pros: -Easy to use (for the most part) -Easy to setup -Replaceable hardware (Apple products) -More features than many similar competitors

Cons: -Poor customer support -No setup options -Some functions difficult to access/not intuitive -Bugs/issues when iOS updates - unreliable

Recommendations to other buyers: Definitely, check out Toast, they more effectively combine traditional POS options with a tablet system. Also, I'd definitely advise going with a cloud-based system if you decide not to go with tablets. Check out Brink for a good example (that's who my company switched to).

Cons: Cash layout for required new iPads to retain full functionality

Overall: We embraced touch bistro over 3 yrs ago in that time they have continued to upgrade and make it better and better. That said the only down side is as technology changes so does your need for newer faster iPads and that is something we did not budget for.

I would never go back to a stand alone POS

Just remember that if you make the jump to tableside ordering wirelessly you will be amazed at how much faster your table

Turns are and effective your servers become . Less staff required because they carry the POS with them no lines at a station. Smoother flow in kitchen

Just take .25 per bill

And put it in a gotta get newer IPad fund and you'll be happier then you have ever been

Pros: TouchBistro has been an amazing tool for our cafe. I love the ease of use, how easily we are able to get an overview of the cafe at any one time, along with performance, financial reporting, and all the rest. We keep discovering new features that allow us to be more and more accurate and efficient behind the counter. Support is also always really helpful and available whenever we need them!

Cons: Some of the features seem weirdly incomplete, like reporting having some types of reports available and not others. Also, we have had to source a secondary POS system to use for our retail inventory, as despite having the capability for things like barcode scanning, there is no way to quickly or easily update our inventory--with a stocklist of over 2000 items, having to create each item individually and update them manually is too much of a headache to bother with.

Pros: Ease of reports and making menu changes

Cons: Not all the features are customizable; you can't turn off a copy of receipts you don't need, there's a crazy work-around if you need item ingredients listed on kitchen tickets , only admins can setup customer accounts and take deposits for catering orders which is inconvenient for us.

Overall: Touch Bistro is very easy to use in adding new menu items or editing existing items and also retrieving any multitude of reports available. Pricing is on the lower end of competitive. We are a quick serve restaurant and there are several important features that we can not customize which is why we rate it low on functionality; for instance when we have a credit card transaction we can't turn off the customer's receipt copy and in a QSR most do not want their receipt so we waste a lot of paper. Sales experience to training transition to installation also did not go smoothly for us. Sales is anxious to sell but is not there for you afterwards.

But if we didn't have these, as well as other issues, we'd rate it a very good system. You just have to really know what you need POS to do for you and ask detailed questions and document your answers.

Recommendations to other buyers: Listen to comments, requests and recommendations from your customers and implement or fix the system to adjust to customers. Once you're signed on, they seem to place very little value on what should be a partnership with customers/users.

Pros: Ease of touching, direct sending to kitchen, really a great system, just a few things could make it better and easier

Cons: Some function are not easy to understand...Don't like having to try and figure them out....need a code set up that is not a login code of a manager that is just for discounts....also a tab that is one touch for takeout and delivery displayed at the top with the name would be good...so it one touch check out for them...also bar tabs should print the customers name, so when a bar tab customer decides to order food the chit in kitchen has their name on in and not just "bar Tab"

Pros: It connects with our accounting software so that our daily sales are uploaded automatically.

The app is easy to use and our new staff can be trained quickly and efficiently.

The billing features are really great and allow our servers to manage tables the way the customer wants, not the way the POS wants.

Cons: Adding menu items is time consuming and a general pain. We would love to have a web based site that allows easier uploading .

The reporting features are a bit clunky - for example we cannot check on single item sales totals. Instead we have to download a entire report with ALL items.

Cons: On the Administrative side, it is very cumbersome.

Overall: Basically, works okay. This is our first restaurant so our only experience with a POS. For the amount of money this costs, I feel it falls short on the reporting side as it relates to accounting. Changes seem to happen very slowly if at all (only 1 year). Customer services getting better. Whenever I have the need to speak with a live person I've expressed my frustration as well as the issue which initiated the contact. TB prefers emailing their tech support team.

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure you set it up correctly the first time and REALLY understand the shortcoming of the system.

Pros: Price point is great for a small independent business.

Ease of use: very easy to train new staff on the software.

Cons: Limitations for custom reporting as well as the frequency of updates - trying when all your programs are constantly changing, albeit for the better many times, tough to keep up with when all (not just touch bistro) your tech is constantly evolving faster than one can keep up.

Overall: good pricing for a product that meets a small businesses needs

Pros: That it uses an existing IPad and can be stationary or mobile. Also it is great for tracking sales so that we can keep track of trending up and down of our menu items> It also helps use with ordering and inventory

Cons: That it doesnt include a rounding function for places that have phased out the penny. Sometimes the modifiers are a pain and could be better to add if you could choose all the menu items that could use the same modifier,

Overall: I is more efficient than a regular cash register and allows us to track our sales and tax instead of trying to calculate it after.

Comments: had 3 restaurant with them and i found better solution !

Pros: very good and easy front-end ! easy training -table manegement is really easy to do -nice interface

Cons: modifier are slow to process specially in coffee shop -not good for extended menu really hard to navigate true large bakery menu -there is no way to input iteam in the back office ! Sorry there is no back office! so if you need to do change thing on the fly well you have to wait for and ipad to get free! -Changing menu pricing and making the menu on touchbistro is really long since everything as to be inputted on an ipad ! -modifier are again very complicated and not intuitive what so ever! -make sure your ipad are not on auto update since if the update without you knowing your system will stop working -they sell you and mac mini saying you only need the display for set up! well that not true! you need it for all the update to !

Pros: When I started my business, the company that ran the POS system I inherited gave me trouble 24 hours before I opened. In stepped TouchBistro. They went above and beyond to have me up and running in time for my opening. I have never seen support they offered from another company. Their customer service was second to none.

On top of that, the system is so easy to use. I set up my menu from scratch, in a rush, the night before opening. Training staff on it is a breeze as well.

Cons: There isn't much to complain about. It would be nice to be able to adjust the menu remotely but they're constantly upgrading the features available via cloud, so I'm sure that's on the horizon as well.

Pros: ease of use

Cons: 1) some tipouts get passed through to the credit card processor but fail to capture in the POS, then the POS won't take a tip amount and assumes it's neither entered nor will it let you re enter the tip because the final authorization is complete.

2) in security settings for staff, to enable a staff member to correct their own mistakes before sending an order to the kitchen, because of the way you've set things up, I also have to authorize staff to VOID items that have already been sent, which I refuse to do. so I end up having to approve every little change, whether or not they've been sent to the kitchen... bad design!

Overall: you need to be able to authorize users to delete items without granting them void permissions. Also sometimes the POS accepts a tipout amount and passes it to the credit card processor but then forgets that it already processed the tip amount. At that point it refuses to accept any tipout amount and forces us to do an override on the preauthorization, which in turn means manual calculation of total tipout for the server and understates their tip income on wage reporting....

Cons: lacks some of the functionality of the big POS systems but frankly independent businesses do not need all that horsepower

Overall: I've been using Touch Bistro since 2013 and it has only got better over the years.

They are a very dynamic company with frequent updates which serve to keep your system always performing better with greater functionality and better reporting. Every update is like a little present in which you can unpack more and more features!

Their support network has never failed us in our dire times of need when your mac mini crashes 30 minutes before service. This to me is one of the most important functions of a POS provider and Touch Bistro has always been easily reachable and more than happy to get us back up and running.

Pros: Ease of use. New users or staff that never worked in bussness before can pick it up in minutes. Not a lot of glitches. For the price.

Cons: Updates knocking you down, putting you out of service at the wrong time. Like Friday night and restaurant is packed. and being done with out your knowledge. When they do tell you and you say not to do it then. They do it anyway. Software great, human touch ,not so much. .

Overall: Gets the job done.

Pros: It's so easy to use & assimilate new employees into it. The touch screen & swivel stand saves having to buy another iPad for the counter staff; with the swivel both sides are able to utilize the unit.

Cons: Monthly fees. Although with the benefits of the u it I can live with the fees. I would be interested if there were pocket sized devices that staff could take on the floor & send the orders in from there via wifi

Overall: Saved time money & increased efficiency in placing orders It also alleviated confusion regarding who ordered what & what time the order was placed in the que.

Pros: Touch B - is reallllllllly easy to use....well..there's a bit of a learning curve, and some gettin used to on tha back end to setup everything....but once u dour golden...and it's easy....tha updates are reallly also helpful in ironing out tha bugs etc. We serve our customers faster now with less mistakes than before...with ordering as well as doing up tha tabs etc....we can also do specials and pricing on tha fly.....it's awesome....

Cons: To get tech support has beena friggin nightmare and the most frustrating so for us. I've mentioned this to our rep already...Not being able to speak to someone immediatley makes mme wanna pull my hair out, and then i have to leave a message and wait for a call back, also drives me insane.....because ive goten called back 4 hours AFTER leaving tha message...lunch service was done already, worst yet when i have problems DURiNG service and ther's no help. We've also had problems with printing....and sometimes the orders do no go thru..and we've found this after updataing tha last software..soo not sure about that.

Recommendations to other buyers: Take your time and read and look at alllllll the training videos first.....becaue it's gonna be alot of questions and u dont wanna make a swtch over like me..cold turkey..and i was like a fish outta water.....do ur homework first...praactice and play around with tha demo...before making the complete switch over.

Pros: Ease of use (changing menu items, viewing labor hours, etc is very easily done).

It's easy for employees to use the basic functions of this program.

Cons: It freezes up frequently and requires that the app is closed and re-opened before it will work again. There's also an annoying delay after orders are sent through, while they're printing in the kitchen, during which time nothing can be done. This only last a few seconds, but a few seconds is too much for a busy restaurant to have a delay every time an order is sent.

Overall: Ease of use. Valuable synthesis of information from sales and labor hours.

This is the 2nd restaurant I've used Touch Bistro. Easy to operate.

Pros: Everything makes sense, very user friendly. Servers and bartenders who have never worked with this system can pick up right away, little or no training.

Cons: It does not have the capability of putting in counts on menu items, i.e. starting the night with 8 fish and having the system do the countdown until it's gone.

Overall: Reports, labor, food, remote report etc.....

Pros: We really like the use of this software of being able to use it at the table. Items can be sent to get made with out even leaving the table. Very easy to program new items, etc. Very easy to use.

Cons: My biggest issue is the reporting offsite. We log in with the computer at another location, and we don't get to see the same reports. It would be nice if the Date range for the reporting would work for any day or any length of time. Not just weekly for Drill down report.

Cons: It was a bit difficult to get some reports off Touchbistro. It crashed a couple times but we only do reports 1-2 times a year so it's not the end of the world.

Pros: It's ease of use. New staff literally need a 30 minute tutorial to be functional. We get our daily, weekly and monthly summaries in a snap.

Cons: I'd like to be able to narrow down searches to specific items. the detail is available on times and days, but not on specific menu items.

We sometimes need to know if and when specific products sell. It would allow us to plan better.

Overall: ease of use and functionality are the biggest pluses.

Pros: Love everything about this product. Cuts down on kitchen errors because you are not trying to decipher wait staff writing. Tracks inventory so it stops orders of 86'd food. Makes billing so easy, splitting bills, splitting items. I really can't say enough good things about Touch Bistro. Would never have a restaurant again without it.

Cons: The only thing I don't like, and maybe I'm just not doing something right, but, I can't seem to delete ex-employees.

Pros: Cloud reporting and great customer service! I like the ability to keep all reporting in the POS including staff time sheets and other information. I think the reports are great and easy to use, even online as an app on my cell phone to easily manage the day's activities. Setup is easy and upgrades are seamless. We installed a second POS system for overflow it is a great benefit.

Cons: I would like to access the full POS system remotely, not just the cloud.

Pros: TouchBistro is very easy setup and use and is truly designed for restaurant use. The cloud reporting feature and customer support are also excellent.

Cons: The one downside for us is that you can't do any real administrative activity without disrupting service, so you have to do it on one of the iPads outside business hours.

Overall: TouchBistro is central to our restaurant operation. Our servers are happy with it, and overall administration is easy and effective for our needs.

Pros: We were looking for POS solution that offered enhanced tab-splitting and customer checkout capabilities. Of all the vendor applications we reviewed (and it was an exhaustive search...), TouchBistro was the ONLY one the not only met our needs, but far exceeded them! With the help of TouchBistro, we can now handle any and every checkout scenario customers throw our way. And many thanks to the customer service reps that initially trained our staff and continue to answer questions that come up from time-to-time!

Cons: The only things I would like to see TB expand upon are its reporting and customer relationship management capabilities. Give us the ability to create custom reports and mine the data that is already stored within TB. Cheaper POS systems we reviewed have much more robust reporting options. Give us the ability to store customer information and reporting on customer-based sales (i.e. who are my top customers, who were my top customers that haven't visited recently, etc.). Again, cheaper POS systems offer these features and integrate with 3rd party vendors like Constant Contact and MailChimp.

Recommendations to other buyers: Spend the time to understand what is (and is not) included with the POS solution you're purchasing. Prioritize your list of required features and recognize that no one solution will fit all your needs out of the box. If you're looking for an iPad-based solution that is heavy on features that will enhance customer experiences (i.e. quick checkout and simplified tab handling) and perhaps a little light on back-end features (i.e. CRM and reporting), you'll be hard pressed to find another POS solution better than TouchBistro!

Comments: It's clear that someone in the industry designed this product. It is very intuitive and has almost all of the functionality you can expect in the much more expensive pos systems. There are the occasional glitches, and some things that could be better, but 26 years in the restaurant business has exposed me to just about all of the major POS systems, and TouchBistro's functionality is in the top 10. Unfortunately, when you really need help, you're on your own. I've had the system for about 18 months now. On every occasion that I've had to reach out to "support", and I use the term loosely, I have never been able to reach anyone in a timely manner. My call has never been answered by a human being. I always have to leave a message. And response time ranges from 5 hours to 2 days. When you're in a crisis, there is nothing more disappointing and infuriating.

Pros: If you can use an iPhone, you can use this system. Easy to program, use, and manage. The cost is a fraction of other systems with similar functionality.

Cons: There is no support when something goes wrong. The support/help line takes hours to days to respond, no matter how immediate or critical the problem is.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you have a full service, busy restaurant, make sure you have a crash kit handy (manual checks, calculators, manual credit card runners) for when the system goes down.

Pros: The ease with which I can manage my content. I also love the Portal and it's ability to get a somewhat realtime snapshot of the business even if I'm not there.

Cons: I'd like to be able to make updates to the content remotely. A way to run the app remotely (and still securely, VPN() would allow me the ability to troubleshoot or just manage things remotely.

Cons: some function such as adding a pure tax bottom.

Overall: Our bartenders are happy about the system. Sometimes the system has error when we delete a table, or switch a table, and perhaps more attention to such areas. It's good if there is a key or bottom for tax only - sometimes we have promotion (such as Groupon) where the meals were prepaid, but guests only need to pay tax, and there should be such a key. Pros: Nothing! It made everything harder. Don't do it!

Cons: End of Day requirement is completely unacceptable. Like most restaurants my FOH staff typically leave before the BOH staff. So they can't run end of day before they leave because BOH staff are still clocked in. So not only does the opening manager have to run the end of day he also has to do clock in adjustments after doing EOD because there are BOH staff clocked in before he starts his shift and he has to force clock out those staff, re-clock them in, adjust their start time, and then delete the shift that they were clocked in for prior to the forced clock out. With Aloha EOD happens automatically at 4am. Nobody has to lift a finger

Payroll is a nightmare.

7 shifts is not a solution for me. I would also note that the time keeping system allows for overlapping shifts which can be problematic if you do not catch them when auditing staff punches. Overlapping shifts easily occur with the force clock out situation associated with end of day.

Overall: Wasted lots of my time and caused deep frustrations for my staff and customers. Don't do it!

Comments: If you are an IT wizard and do not require much training this may be the system for you. My fear is that when something does go wrong when I go live that getting a hold of customer service will be impossible.

Pros: The system seems much more user friendly than your typical cumbersome POS systems like Aloha or Micros if you can get it setup.

Cons: Customer service is absolutely the worst. They require a 3 week lead time for all training and install appointments, I am building a restaurant from ground up and it is very difficult to know 3 weeks out where construction will be. The only department that responds promptly is sales, no other department puts any priority on follow ups. I asked to speak to someone in executive management and was told they are unavailable. So I reached out to the CEO Alex Barrotti through LinkedIn (seems this is the only way to contact anyone in executive management) and I received some condescending reply about how customer service works comparing install and training appointments to taking reservations for my restaurant. Clearly the poor customer service culture comes from the top.

Pros: TouchBistro is so intuitive and easy to learn and use! It is a breeze teaching new staff members how to use the system. They catch on so quickly and it becomes second nature for them with user-friendly buttons and tabs. Our customers always comment on how cool TouchBistro is while we are taking their order or when we ask them to complete the order by signing on the screen. All around, everyone enjoys TouchBistro very much at Tasty Tails!

Cons: I would love to be able to change pricing and menu items through the computer and syncing it to the other iPads.

Recommendations to other buyers: Find something intuitive and user-friendly. It will save you so much time when teaching new staff to use the operating system everyday. TouchBistro is customizable and will be able to adapt to your restaurant/business; make sure the product you go with can do this for you as well!

Cons: Some minor adjustments we would like to see, including the option to not print certain items on the kitchen chit.

Overall: We moved to TouchBistro last year during our summer operation. After reviewing many options we believed TouchBistro provided the best product for the cost and for our fine dining establishment, and we were correct. The transition was extremely smooth and the support was great. Our TouchBistro system performed well through our busy summer season. Overall: Functional and streamline but i think its pricey for what you get. As a small business owner in a small community it's a useful tool but it's an expensive overhead costs. Thousands of dollars to set up and hundreds a month is a bit much. I purchased an extra piece of equipment and returned it for my money back but it got lost on their end and I ended up being out several hundred dollars and no follow up after many attempts. Have had several disappointments with customer service but the app itself is decent.

Pros: This iPad based program is excellent for any restaurant, Cafe, Bar etc. Easy to use and even easier to set up. I really liked the customization aspect of it and the fact that it's on the iPad just makes customers all that more intrigued to see what the service staff are using.

Cons: Cloud reporting capabilities are a bit underwhelming, but they are actively working towards improvement. In addition, the lack of bulk import/export .csv functionality for menu changes creates a cumbersome implementation during startup

Cons: Strictly the inability to access business information if your license isn't in operation.

Overall: The TouchBistro System worked great for our golf course. Our only issue came during the off season when we wanted to look at our reports. Since we had suspended our licence - which is a great option for a seasonal business to save money - we weren't able to access our reports. We were able to get a temporary release of our license so we could access the reports but this just took time and was tricky to co-ordinate. All the staff was friendly and excellent to work with.

Pros: The software is easy to use and to train new staff on. It's also great for splitting off bills/per seat billing.

Cons: There are a couple of glitches in relation to the shifts. When I do a report for my payroll period I always have to include the previous and next days in my report because the shifts are out of line with the dates.

Comments: I love this POS - very easy to train people on. Usually takes about 5 minutes and even new employees are usually able to figure their way out of mistakes.

I wish there was a way to assign liquors to cocktails so we could keep better inventory. For example, right now it says I have 70 ounces of gin. But last night we sold 8 Tom Collins, so we actually only have 62 ounces.

Pros: Love the touch bistro pos system, it is by far one of the simplest to setup and easiest to train staffs with. it allow wireless table side ordering, which increase the service time by 20 % since we switch and also cut down on my staffs running back and forth to the customers with credit card payment, which we do sign on screen to speed up the table turning as well. I highly recommend it over other iPad pos system. Feel free to come visit us if you are in NYC. I be glad to show you the system.

Cons: The reservation system isn't connected with OpenTable or does it have a page system for the reservation to txt customers when their tables are ready.

Recommendations to other buyers: The language translation part is nice for people who have non English worker (it allow printers to print short name in Chinese or whatever language that iPad have). Simple update of menu and total control on system setup. Unlike many other software any changes or update it will require to call and pay.

Pros: I think the most beneficial aspect about this product is that it works pretty much like anything or any app that we have on our iPad,iPod or iPhone these days. During the large turnovers that some restaurants may have with servers coming and going there can be a lot of training to be done and usually the core menu is the main focus. Not much time is spent on learning the POS system being used. Sometimes some questions may arise at a crucial and busy time like a lunch or dinner rush. Through experience I can say that I was caught in a busy dinner rush and had ordered a plate by accident and wasn't sure how to delete it and through "iPhone intuition" I simple swiped right like you would on a iPhone. Makes me feel comfortable with it and I am not intimidated at all and it is almost all self taught.

Cons: Its hard to pick what would be my least favourite aspect, but I think it would be the fact that the menu is a little small because it is only shown in the top right corner

Pros: Touchbistro is what we used at my previous job as a server. We made the transition from paper tickets to this POS and it made a world of difference. The learning curve was quite easy and our company really benefited from switching over. One of my favorite parts of this software is that there are menu photos available that you can show customers right at the table and it's all in the convenience of an iPad!

Cons: This worked well for a small menu restaurant, but not sure if it would be as efficient for a restaurant with a huge lengthy menu, only because it's kind of tricky to access and make adjustments to items

Cons: Slow to react to commands sometimes and forced updates at random times of day. No rounding function for pennies so my cash NEVER balances, which sucks for accounting purposes and I'm unable to hold staff accountable for unbalanced cash outs.

Overall: I enjoy the software, but the last update caused my debit machine to not work and I lost a lot of money. It's also been operating slower that when I first used it.

Overall: The system is great with a few flaws, several times the system will not allow servers to log in , the message says , the server might be down, also the system is always updating therefore leaving the system non operational. Cons: The Cloud Reporting is currently still in beta phase. I really wish all the bugs were ironed out.

Overall: Prior to using TouchBistro, my brewery was using several different systems (cash register, cc With TouchBistro, not only have we been able to reduce our transaction times to mere seconds, we now have "one stop shopping" for all of our necessary business data like sales, labor, inventories.

Comments: Overall, the product is so far very stable and easy to set up. It always takes a time to get acclimated with new systems, but this one is pretty intuitive and they have some good videos/tutorials to get the staff up to speed. Having used it for a couple weeks now, there are a few features that are hard to work around. One is the fact that you can't have an inclusive tax on select items (alcohol). You can set up an inclusive tax, but it is either for ALL of the items or none. Big oversight as the majority of bars/restaurants that I've ever been to (mine included) have the tax included in the alcoholic drinks, but not on the food. Another major issue is you can not add a seat to a tab. A major feature I liked was the ability to preauthorize cards/tabs, but this is often nullified by the fact that I can't add a seat to a tab, and the workaround that I would normally do (attach a card to a table) is not an option either. One of these things is not good, the fact that I can do neither is a real pain.

Pros: Cost Stability

Cons: Can't add seats to tabs or assign a card to a table. Only offers global inclusive tax

Recommendations to other buyers: It's good for the price, just be aware of its' limitations.

Cons: yearly fees every year makes me wonder if it is worth it.

Overall: I have 3 restaurants using touchbistro. i am happy with the service, the app, and the way it works. But the monthly fees year after year are very expensive. to be honest, for the same price of 1 years fees, you can get a great system with no monthly fee. If they want to keep customers like me, after the first years, a drastic reduction in monthly fee will be necessary.

Pros: I opened a new restaurant and found this system easy to install and easy to train staff on it. I would highly recommend to others

Cons: Don't know it is great . What I like least about this product is I'm required to write things I don't like and there aren't any

Pros: Easy to setup and operate. It's out of the box and running in no time. The staff think it's simply and like it. The reports are great and very helpful when making menu changes and pricing decisions. The cloud portal means I can look at the information from anywhere. It works for us.

Cons: Not integrated with QBO yet. We are looking for a system that integrates with our accounting software. Our ambition is to have a cloud based system from end to end. Dealing with daily sales on an integrated bases is a must have for us to achieve our cloud based accounting vision.

Recommendations to other buyers: Compare the price and it's a no brainier! All the usual criteria apply. It meets all the standards while being easy to operate and maintain. The management reporting is very flexible unlike many POS's. The cloud reporting portal is a leap forward from traditional POS's. A good time and attendance system is built in.

Pros: I like how the people behind the product know the product. Today too many customer services are short handed with clients and instead of finding the answers to solve a problem or question they pass it off. The POS system itself is easy to learn and provides a great interactive tool that customers like. Our speed time between bar, tables and kitchen has improved dramatically as waiters can order at one table and immediately go top another mean while the drink or food has already been sent to the appropriate area and in process of being made. Staff love they can spend a little more quality with the customers to make sure they have an over all great experience.

Cons: I am a little old fashion and would really like an online manual for everything not just troubleshooting, but the A to Z's

Recommendations to other buyers: I did my research before purchasing with TouchBistro. Though it is a newer company, the people behind it have years of experience and not just in software but the industry.

Support was inconvenient the merchants were expensive

Comments: Great app, TB needs to get up to speed with competition.

Pros: Ease of use is good. Tracks cost of goods and payroll time and cost. We liked the floor layout for our restaurant.

Cons: The merchants you are required to use are double that of Square. Supports acts like your call is inconvenient and pushes you off the phone. Square cost nothing and they helped us every step of the way. TB.

Comments: Implementing more modern technology that supports multiple-location organizations is essential for Touchbistro.

Pros: Basic register features are intuitive, staff pics it up quickly. Good options for item modifiers and other restaurant menu nuances.

Cons: It only works effectively for single locations. Reporting is for single locations only. Menus changes need to be repeated for each location - making changes is therefore very time-consuming. Managing hours is only done on the ipad. Doing changes while taking customer orders is obviously problematic.

We love TouchBistro so much we added to our sister venue ; it's amazing at the difference it's made

Pros: Prior to using TouchBistro, my brewery was using several different systems (cash register, cc terminal, time clock, inventory reports) to collect the data needed to effectively run a small business. Collating all of this every month or every two weeks just ate up too much time in the back office. With TouchBistro, not only have we been able to reduce our transaction times to mere seconds, we now have "one stop shopping" for all of our necessary data.

Cons: The CloudReporting not being (currently) out of beta testing. What I've experienced of the CloudReporting has been very useful, however, we have hit a couple of very minor hiccups.

Recommendations to other buyers: This software is so intuitive right out of the box. I was able to get my system live and employees trained in a morning!

Cons: That we have to have an apple ipad to use it.

Pros: Easy switches from screen to screen, buttons for everything which is great and easy to use, everything is right there for you.

Cons: Slow every once in a while, glitches sometimes when your switching pages the screen lags, other than that it's great.

Overall: For the job at the time it was great! For a bistro setting, when we had to serve, it kinda didn't work right!

When it works it is good but there are some serious downsides to this product.

Pros: We like many of the features of the product. Table side ordering with photos etc. if there is a problem with hardware you can just buy a new i-pad , download the app and you are up and running again.

Cons: No remote access. If you want to go in and make changes you must be within wifi range of the server. Auto updates have a way of auto kicking you off the system. Not very good tech support. A different answer from different people regarding the same problem.

Overall: Table side ordering. Ease of use.

Cons: No provision for tax collection

Overall: In order to be really useful you need to develop the software to accommodate the Ontario tax code. Setting up the menu to collect the correct taxes is a pain.

Comments: Would like to be able to not have to always print a customer copy of a credit card receipt. Would be nice to have all reports available on the cloud.

Pros: Great for what we need it for. The menu is easy to add to and is quick for our bar service which is nice.

Cons: Some features are not as easy to figure out as others. Like inventory items and reporting features.

Pros: extremely straight forward and easy to use, visually pleasing ,intuitive, can have someone who's never used a POS to use it in minutes

Cons: inventory system for alcohol, also be great for integration with other payment solutions such as Global Payments

Pros: Easy system to navigate; reporting is very simple; great customer service which is hard to find in this industry

Cons: Would like to be able to access some of the reports and editing features from the website if I'm not at the Taproom to access the iPad

Pros: Easy to program and easy to use for servers.

Cons: KDS loses slips often, resends already cooked items to the kitchen when drinks are reordered. Customer service is horrible. Last 3 calls averaged 20+ minutes to get a human. Smaller operations might have better luck but I would never suggest this product.

Pros: I really like the features it offers especially now that recipe costing has been added. Splitting checks is a breeze.

Cons: Having to check every item to put a discount on the entire check. Slows things down a lot when in a hurry.

Cons: Booting me out for an update in middle of shift

Overall: Wonderful. Very easy to use especially since they have integrated square credit card processing! I deel like I need a fedreshed course every few months though! The updates are great seems to work out kinks but all of the sudden in the middle of a shift it kicks me out at times when I least expect it.

Pros: Ease of use and includes most features needed to run a large 175 seat restaurant and bar. The features I would like to see developed have been given to the TB Team for consideration.

Cons: Not being able to access the program remotely. The reports are available on the Cloud but to remotely access and make changes to the program would be awesome. I understand they are working on this.

Comments: Do not use this software! really, Wait staff like it but is a nightmare for management !! and i am pretty sure by now that most of those good reviews online are fake!!dont get fool

Pros: easy to split bills , and look great on paper.
