I work daily with Oracle CX Commerce, hoping for the new Open Storefront Framework.

Pros

Great Out Of The Box features, allowing to get B2C and/or B2B commerce sites up and running in a very short time.

Cons

Customization can be a hassle, depending on what is needed to be done. Some parts of the software are a black box for developers. Most of the software libraries are outdated.

Having used several enterprise and business level e-commerce platforms, Oracle is pretty middle of the road. With the ease of use of tools that companies like Shopify have added, it makes systems like Oracle very complex to use.

Pros

It really is a unified platform, if you use all of Oracle’s other tools to support it.

Cons

You really need a solid development team to do anything meaningful with the platform. It can be quite intimidating to non-technical people.
