Pros: Nothing much to like. I would say that you can manage the reservations in an Excel based system better than this product. All the integration with OTAs are not reliable ...huge possibilities of overbookings.

Cons: Choosing Channel manager and PMS is a big decision for a hotels/accommodation providers because It is not easy to exit and move to another service provider. Whether you are small or medium size , my recommendation will be to stay away from channelmanager.com.au. There are plenty of integrated PMS and CM provider in the market that offer better price and more value for money.

Product: The product itself is not capable of managing the growth of your business. There are many inbuilt roadblocks e.g. rate plans cannot be mapped to OTAs, Payment gateway cannot be linked to your merchant services provider, no integration with financial systems and the list goes on.

After realising that I made a mistake by choosing this product, I had to migrate all the data to the new PMS. A lot of work. Meanwhile, channelmanager.com.au deleted all our customers data/reservations without any warning or information. When I called, I was told that the payment was not made on time, so they deleted the whole database. No calls, no emails , no warnings before doing that. Do you expect this from a professional service provider?

For your peace of mind, stay away from this product.

Pros: 1)having a real person at the end of the phone (who lives in Tasmania) to assist.

2)CM are responsive on the few occasions that we have needed assistance

3)competitive pricing

4)handles multiple rooms and packages, extras, and promotional codes

5)easy to update rates & availability

6)can take direct bookings & payment on-line or over the phone

Cons: 1) the effort to get Google Analyatics & FB pixel codes on the guests confirmation URL.

2) not convenient for CRM. Need to handle CSV downloads manually; unable to customise the reports, so sometimes need to download more than one report, then do a cut & paste into another spreadsheet.

3) customers have started complaining that the mobile booking site is difficult to use

4) we are unable to embed a calendar on our website

5) there is limited scope to customise the style of the external desktop booking site

6) by using the online DPS merchant we are not paid till the month after the guest has stayed.

Overall: Although we have been happy with ChannelManager, we would like to find a software package that provides booking calendar that can be embedded on our website to take direct bookings & payment (we don't use OTAs) and is easy for the customer to use on the mobile phone.
