Salesforce is a very complex, intricate and versatile all-in-one CRM

Pros: What I like most about Salesforce is the capability of being an all-in-one CRM. In the insurance business, there is a very wide variety of details to track: client information, sales statistics, commissions, important dates, data from insurance carriers, and more. Salesforce has the ability to customize the fields so that we can keep track of as much information that we want to.

Another example of the versatility of Salesforce is that it can be used by all departments of a company. SeniorQuote has deployed Salesforce with our sales agents, case managers, finance department, administrators, marketing specialists and data analysts.

We have incorporated plug-ins with Salesforce to make it versatile for our needs. We were able to incorporate inContact with our Salesforce to have a built-in phone dialer for our agents. We also incorporated Marketo's automation software to have the ability to use digital marketing with the ease of a "click" while surveying our extensive database of leads.

We purchased additional support, which has been a huge help. Response time is good. I put in tickets for help which are answered anywhere between minutes after my request up to 24 hours. The assistance we receive is often stellar, and the representatives are very knowledgeable. The only quirk with them is they are sometimes in foreign countries and some instances I've dealt with people with poor communication skills.

Cons: What turns me off about Salesforce is the configuration. It could be pertinent to SeniorQuote, because we did not hire a licensed Salesforce administrator to configure and maintain our Salesforce account. After going through it without an administrator, I would highly recommend having one on staff (as appropriate to company size) Simply put: the more complicated or detailed your CRM will be, the higher the likelihood you will need an in-house administrator.

I have used Salesforce with three different companies and have witnessed the many problems that arise when you don't have someone who is an EXPERT at Salesforce to help you out. At the very least, I suggest buying the Additional Support.

Pros: Excellent way to stay on top of your client base with trends and identifies to help you maximise your sales team efforts. Funnel reviews are now a piece of cake. The easy to use interface allows your opportunities to become manageable and easy to identify with the cross relation tool sets.

Cons: The software, like anything else, is heavy dependant upon the administrators and deployment team. If the process is not well established and the outcome goals clearly identified early on, the project will likely have more of a negative impact on the sales team than anything else.

Overall: I was able to increase my earning potential by capitalising upon opportunities that I did not know I had. It also ensured that I was accountable to my targets and scheduled commitments with potential leads.

Pros: Everything is very well connected and follow up tasks make it very easy to communicate duties and hold everyone on the team accountable for their duties

Cons: Occasionally, when submitting a case or opportunity, it is rejected because there may be 3 portions I need to fill out. Except it will say I need to fill out 'x row'. Then I fill it out and hit submit.
Then it is rejected again because I also need to fill out 'xy row'. So i fix it and hit submit. Then a new thing I need to fix pops up.
If it was fashioned so all 3 portions which need updating appear at once, it will mitigate frustration.

Pros: I like that it keeps track of all my clients, orders, and quoting, and can submit info via docusign. My support staff is located all across the county, and this allows us all to have access to the same info. Very efficient.

Pros: Has huge capacity. Everything about your organization (tasks, follow up, tracking) can be kept here in one system. Works with companies that have hundreds of workers as well as smaller businesses. Able to save templates for tasks that are done often which saves us loads of time for filling in all the fields.

Cons: This is very pricey software. You have to be able to justify the cost. Every user costs an additional amount. If you are more team based you could set it up so each team has an account but our company wanted to be able to assign a specific person. This quickly made the costs a huge problem for us.

Overall: organizational, accountability for people responsible for the task, ability to see who has done what.

Pros: I guess it is a very thorough software. It has a lot of features. I like that it is a cloud-based software, which means it's easy to access the information.

Cons: Honestly, after I was not too happy with Salesforce, I changed to another CRM. I needed something fast and simple for my business and salesforce was too complicated for that, but moreover, it is MUCH too expensive. Since they are well-known on the market, many buy their product, but they are FAR from being the best. I think that people can find many other CRMs that meet their needs better and are at least at a reasonable price.

Comments: Our company has been using Salesforce.com for quite some time now, it has worked wonders for our business -- particularly given that we are spread out over several locations, this helps us all communicate as a single team in an efficient and user-friendly intuitive way. Also very useful that it can be integrated with Outlook and that it comes with tons of addons and connectors to create a really consistent experience across the different platforms we use.

Pros: -Constantly improving, with software updates and releases 3 times a year -Huge support community -Integrates with tons of other software and has massive capabilities for the complete business on multiple facets -Ease of use and automated functions and integrations make the workflow fast, easy, and with very few touchpoints -With improvements still to come in the fields of AI and ever-expanding list of integrations, it is only getting better with time! -Can access from anywhere at any time as the platform is entirely cloud-based and includes a full functional mobile app! -Fully customizable, you can create custom tabs, fields, apps - the whole thing can be pinched and pulled to work for you!

Cons: -Reliance on internet access can make it tricky with businesses with unreliable internet service -Takes a little getting used to, there are just so many things it can do when fully unleashed that it can be a little difficult to learn at first, but they do have a full online experience for independent training, the Trailhead.

Pros: Salesforce is like a box of building blocks. You have every possible option in front of you, and beyond a few instructions and a rigid backbone, any need you have can be built. In the Salesforce world, you have access to default record types and pages, but can do anything else on top of those to map your exact sales process and workflow.

Cons: The same complexity that makes Salesforce adaptable also makes it hard to use without experience. Implementing it beyond a basic level requires someone to pick up the task and learn, or a third-party administrator. No, that person in the office who "totally knows Salesforce" will not do.

Overall: Made a small sales team operate more like a big one, with the customization to match any shift in sales process or product marketing we wanted.

Pros: Fulfils all of my team's needs in setting up our mobile ad campaigns, which involves communication between our offices London and San Francisco. This software allows a centralised point of contact, which works seamlessly on a daily basis.

Cons: The mobile app needs some work, it often crashes and I have lost work as a result. There have been instances where I have written out a long case comment back to a colleague, and tapping the wrong area on the screen takes you back to a previous screen, losing the comment altogether and forcing me to re-write it (often multiple times)

Overall: Centralised communication between our teams across the globe, reducing the difficulties typically caused by such a time difference (London to San Francisco), particularly with the mobile app.

Pros: It can be a huge database that you can put all your customer information into and link records and other information into.

Cons: You need a development background to set it up... or be willing to pay LOTS of money to someone else. Salesforce doesn't tell you this when considering purchasing. And your rep changes so often due to turnover that you have to explain your business every time you talk to someone new.

Overall: We have all of our contacts from YEARS of user registration information all included here. It's nice to be able to pull up really old information when needed with ease.

Pros: I love how clean it is and the features it brings to organizations. I've used this system through several vendors and it's always been a great experience. The robust search has to be my absolute favorite component - I've been able to find anything I needed using it! Of course, the quality of the results depends on the content the vendor posts - but if it exists the search will find it!

Pros: I have yet to find something I can't do within Salesforce. Sometimes it takes an app from Appexchange, or it's a complicated setup, but at least I can do it. Every sales org is unique and it's this flexibility that keeps me a Salesforce user. Data is important and the basics of Salesforce are easy enough to customize on the fly so that I can build out a process within Salesforce that is effective. Their reporting is extremely customizable once you build out the rest of the instance correctly.

Cons: There is a learning curve, but it's well worth learning the software in detail. There are a ton of really logical features that should be part of Salesforce, but aren't. I'll google them and find massive threads on the topic validating this. Oh well....

Overall: It supports a detailed sales process, and provides the visibility and reporting that I need to do my job effectively. I can manage my sales pipeline and build out just about anything I need with the software.

Pros: Salesforce lets you do anything. When you're working with a CRM like this, its easy to create a detailed and very real data point about each and every one of your clients. Salesforce allows me to link to my Hubspot account, and it works with a number of other CRM and marketing tools. The flexibility of this tool is virtually limitless. You get what you pay for, and salesforce is well worth it.

Cons: This software is TRULY robust, and with this robustness can come a very STEEP learning curve. Sometime I have to work closely with developers to troubleshoot some issues I'm having. I wish it were a little more intuitive and "plug and play". But this doesn't take away enough from the value of this tool, that it makes it not worth getting... get this software.

Overall: A flexible tool to manage my accounts and clients in a robust way. I can grow into the software as my company grows as well.

Pros: The sheer amount of flexibility in its functionality is a clear reason why Salesforce has risen to success. It can easily match the needs of businesses of all shapes and sizes, and the array of products they offer allow them to keep their customers in one ecosystem.

Cons: Because of how large and flexible Salesforce is , it feels clunky and dated. It doesn't seem like software that is crafted to offer the best possible experience, rather a bunch of modules slapped together to appease the greatest number of customers. This results in a very unfriendly user experience that doesn't seem modern at all.

Overall: Quick and easy access to customer data, and the ability to track their usage of our platform and status of subscriptions. It also gave great insight into the lifetime of a customer's account.

Pros: I like that you can have committee information, member information, financial information and the ability to store documents attached to a members profile is great for record keeping.

Cons: In our set up, the member contact screen is very long, you can collapse infrequently used sections but it is a lot of scrolling to get where you need.

Overall: All in one storage of members, committees and financials.

Pros: Tons of functionality and customizable. Nice android app as well. Relatively inexpensive compared to other crm tools

Cons: Tough to customize and customer support is not great. Not specialized in my field (real estate) so i have to customize it to do what i need it to do.

SFDC is a wonderful day-to-day tool!

Pros: Simple and efficient; compared to several CRMs I've used in the past, this one is possibly the best.

Cons: The Search engine is the biggest flaw of this software. If there was only one thing to improve, it would have to be the sear engine!!!

Pros: Fast and accessible. Easy to use and tailor to our company needs. A good tool for changing culture to become more customer and data centric (as compared to iMIS, which we used to use and was far more clunky).

Cons: I'd like it to be easier to integrate into my clients' websites without going the third party app route. Hiring a Salesforce developer to write code in Force is expensive.

Used Salesforce for years at work. Amazingly robust tool!

Pros: I loved that Salesforce could do anything I could think of - it can handle any workflow or fields or types of accounts. It's incredibly versatile and very robust, and can be as detailed and as customized as you could possibly want.

Cons: One downside of the enormous customizability is the difficulty of use. Layman users had a hard time learning to use it, or had to go through a complicated series of actions, which decreased their use. As the administrator, I learned how to use it, but it was not easy.

Overall: managing all accounts across an entire company

Pros: I most enjoyed the easy to customize platforms salesforce offers. Also, the adaptability of their software and the customer support they provided in helping to create our platform.

Cons: It has been a bit difficult integrating all of our components that we were hoping to include. While most are in there, some don't render exactly how we were described it would look and function. Overall, engineers have been great in helping though.

Pros: You have everything organized in the way that you want and you can improve your sales with this tool because of the way you administrate the info

Cons: The cloud price is really expensive for have every docuement where you want, and you can not use it at 100% on the phones

Overall: Have the info highlighted and the scheduele of everything

Pros: What I truly like the most about this program is how easy it is to use. This program can be taught to you easily within only a few hours.

Cons: What I like the least about this program is the fact that it does occasionally crash on you and you have to reset it. And how every 45 day I think it is that you have to reset your password

Overall: The main benefits that i got from this program is the ability to be able to learn a program so fast.

Pros: The cross functionality of it. Being able to literally have our entire sales/finance/support teams org wide access the same info is a game changer.
Salesforce makes the idea of remote work and access a reality.

Cons: Maybe more of an case-by-case problem, but we recently acquired another company and integrating our formerly separate Salesforce org accounts is a bit slow moving.

Pros: The thoroughness of the software is limitless. Custom reporting for everything you can imagine. The sky is the limit when it comes to building out custom reportable fields.

Cons: In terms of being user-friendly I think Salesforce can be a bit intimidating for small to mid-size companies. For larger companies etc using the software its level of customization is amazing.

Pros: Customizable dashboard. When you log in, the tool's dashboard gives you a huge range of report widgets, allowing you to have a bird¿s-eye perspective of how your company is performing. Your sales reps can check out real-time summaries of customer data and other relevant statistics.
Easy-to-navigate software. The software is also easy to navigate. A simple navigation bar exists at the top of the window. The tabs are separated into various categories, such as Home, Accounts, Contacts, Leads, Opportunities, Campaigns, Forecasts Files, among others.

Social capabilities. The tool¿s social media function and news feed operate very much like Facebook, thus making it very familiar as well as easy to use for users. You can quickly browse the news feed and immediately post status updates, share links, and upload files right from the dashboard.

Cons: Although the downtime is very little, standard customer support is not impressive and can take and extended time to receive a reply. By then, the problems tend to be resolved due to extra work or work arounds. The Customer Service and account management rank among the worst I have ever experienced. I have had numerous emails out to billing, my account rep and his manager and they simply do not reply. Great at getting back to you when it relates to sales, about the worst I have experienced when it comes to account management. It is clear they do not care.

Overall: Ease of use. It's easily adaptable to various environments and can be easily installed and allows multiple users.Too many clicks. Seems to be designed by a programmer, not a heavy user who has to navigate multiple screens. It has a lot of features. There is not much you can not do. You can customize all ares if you have the resources that are needed.

Cons: This tool is great but the cost for licenses can be high depending on the size of your business and what is in the budget.

Pros: As the marketing manager, it allowed me to set up any number of categories to track lead source, location, landing page, form page, IP address, lead trigger, and lead credit. Reporting was very powerful and flexible if you have it set up correctly.

Cons: Leads and Contacts add way to much complexity to the process. I can see no reason for a separation between the two and it always causes problems with my reports.

Overall: Robust reporting

Pros: easy to use, and train new employees on! I love the tabs at the top and how easy it is to navigate from an account, lead, and opportunity. Also, love the security when logging on from unknown wifi connections. The ability to connect with employees in the organization is super cool as well.

Cons: Wish you could copy account info and input into other software programs. The admin rights are not my favorite, however, i do understand why they are there and why they have them.

Overall: learning how a great CRM tool really can work for you!
