It quickly became obvious that Budgyt delivers much more, and has become our tool of choice for financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis. Our experience has been overwhelmingly positive. It is the only finance tool that our non-finance users regularly come to me with compliments and positive feedback about. Pros Love the Budgyt platform! Very intuitive and easy to use, with capabilities that allow users to get more detailed and complicated as needed. Allows us to enter data in detail (or summary) in a way that makes it incredibly accessible and easy to read for non-finance users, which is ultimately a huge time saver for our finance team. Everyone on the Budgyt team that I have spoken to or worked with from sales to support (including the \[sensitive content hidden\] who took one of my training/implementation calls) has been awesome. The training was great (the video academy might be my single favorite & most-used/recommended training feature in any program ever), onboarding and implementation were made super easy (as far as those things go), and ongoing support (on the rare occasions it's been needed; it's been mostly out-of-the-box questions/ideas that I've brought up post-go-live) is excellent & very personable - huge shout-out to "budgyt guru" \[sensitive content hidden\] who has been immensely helpful from day 0 to the present, anticipating our needs at times before we even did. Cons My only 'complaint' is that of several additional features that have been implemented since we began using Budgyt (dashboards, cash flow, balance sheet) I am anxiously-awaiting the #1 item on my wishlist - live integration with Sage Intacct API to eliminate manual import of actual data. But I'm confident that when it arrives it will work correctly. February 26, 2025 5.0 No more massive spreadsheet with formulas that I couldn't trust other managers to use the file. Previously had to copy their input into my master file. Monthly forecasts were near impossible before. Better accuracy on payroll budgeting. Very simple to create new scenarios and reforecast. Pros It is great for annual fixed budgets and getting participation from other managers for their areas. Can restrict to just department or accounts that they they manage. Each month I create a forecast, containing combinations of imported actuals with future months as budget. The future months then edited to what managers think will happen, to create a forecast. Can have monthly to prior year and fixed budget while in an account Data Sheet, so can easily see how your forecast compares. Simple to close a forecast to create a new one. And lock prior months as necessary. Bonus is the search field. I can look for something in Actuals scenario, that is easy to find than in our accounting software. Also can run better reports on Actuals, than our accounting software. Support is great, direct help form \[sensitive content hidden\] the founder himself. Implementation was pretty easy, considering we have 2 companies, multiple departments and require consolidation. We use Budgyt monthly. Very easy to import and export data to our accounting software. Cons Can't think of anything! Maybe just when I clone a scenario and deactivate the prior months formulas, I can't edit even the future months HR formula because there are annual limits that are used. My original estimate was a guess, and now I know what % or annual limits on certain payroll taxes are, but cannot change. \[sensitive content hidden\] did suggest a workaround though. It has made my job so much easier! Pros Budgyt is very user friendly and a huge timesaver for me during our most busy time of the year. I like that I can clone my prior budget from prior year and add notes to each line item. I also like being able to review variances from year to year in order to quickly adjust any areas moving into the new budget year that may need attention. Cons The only dislike is importing my financial information from my desktop Quick Books software to the Budgyt software. After a few times of practicing the process, it became easier. November 18, 2024 5.0 Pros Budgyt makes it possible to consolidate detailed line-item budget planning into once place. Budgyt accomplishes this by offering the largest number of sub-tiers of any budget SAAS out there, unlimited line-items under each lowest level account category, and line-item notes for expense/income justification. No more department-level spreadsheets because your budgeting software only supports 2 or 3 sub-tiers. You can easily fit every nit-picky detail into Budgyt! Cons After years of using Budgyt, I still struggle with using the built-in equation builders. They are highly customizable, which is great, but they don't always seem to follow traditional math logic. I've resorted to running the few calculations I need to do externally and linking a spreadsheet to a Budgyt line item, which works fine for me and is a small price to pay for the level of detailed planning Budgyt facilitates. Pros Employee and Payroll module in Budgyt has all the capabilities to plan accurately for payroll and employer expenses in multiple states and with a wide variety of employee benefits formula capabilities. Customer support is super capable and fast - if you ever need anything beyond their excellent training video library, which almost always covers my questions. Cons Sometimes keeping up with the way the platform is improved can be a challenge - but the benefit of the improvements outweigh any time spent getting used to the changes over time. They are a great team and what they promise they deliver. Pros Budgyt.com is such a needed software when it comes to the budgeting process. Bugyt.com is super user-friendly, and their support staff has your back the entire way. It is my second time referring an organization I work for to use Budgyt.com for their budgeting application. Their payroll module is so functional and allows you to dial in the payroll aspect of your business regarding the annual budget. We went from a spreadsheet budget last year with 15 revisions and many mistakes to an error free system we can depend on. Cons There really are not any. I can appease nearly all ad-hoc report requests via a report already designed in Budgyt. Previously, the requests would mean manually reformatting a report into different axis, periods, combination of departments, etc. Cons Can't entirely remove %% from some report views. They are continually making updates and improvements, and they are always quick to respond to any inquiries I may have. Forecasting and personnel updates are what I primarily use the software for. Pros I started utilizing Budgyt in 2019 when I started at my non-profit organization. I was looking for a budget and forecasting software that was user friendly, allowed us to create and update multiple budgets, provided streamlined forecasting, had canned budget and actual reports, and one we could manage our payroll through. My expectations were exceeded with Budgyt. Throughout my time with Budgyt they have continuously made software updates and improvements which benefit the customer. Recommendations I have made have been implemented and really benefited me. There are many useful tutorials and \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\], and the support team, are always available and quick to respond to inquires. The software now has updates which link directly to QBO and made my job as Finance Manager much easier. I could highly recommend Budgyt. Cons In the beginning the personnel portal was missing some dimensions that would have been helpful. I was able to work with \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] and Budgyt's support team and they were able to add in the dimensions I needed. Pros I am in my 4th year of using Budgyt and I must say confess this simple, aesthetic, easy-to-use, off-the-shelf, ready-to-go, hustle-free software has performed beyond my expectations. Along the way during the last 4 years, they have added multicurrency and balance sheet reporting options, making it an all-round management reporting tool for top middle level management and top-level executives. September 27, 2018 5.0 The benefit with Budgyt is getting rid of the need to use Excel as the primary location to house all the budget data. Sharing permissions are excellent, so now all managers can access their budgets, submit changes, and get approvals all within this software. Their CEO is really awesome, has taken a lot of his personal time to get on a call with me and show me the ropes. He has also been real welcoming of the feedback I have provided. Pros Once you get the hang of how the software works, it's easy to enter, update, and recall information within the platform. We got tired of spending hours fixing Excel formulas and formats, and with Budgyt, we can spend more time analyzing our financial progress. I also like their integration with Xero - it means it automatically imports actual financial data. Cons Nothing to dislike here. The software already does a good job at what it's supposed to. There can be a bit of a learning curve when using the function formulas, and I haven't had a chance to fully utilize their HR module. There are always lots of features that can add to the software, and I am glad this company continues to deploy resources towards feature releases and fixes. The non-profit that I run has a $3.5 million budget, a staff of 30 and more than 40 different funders. Prior to using Budgyt keeping track of what grants/contracts funded each staff member was cumbersome. Budgyt simplifies the process through the use of Dimensions. Reports that would take me hours to create in the past are now done in minutes. Budgyt is an essential tool for leaders of non-profit organizations. Pros The use of dimension to track which grant/contract is funding each staff member as well as the tools that allow expense allocation based on salries. Cons I cannot point to any. Cons Approval notification - would like to see only pending when I open the system and not have to filter. During year end, it can take a while for everything to load due to the high volume of users entering new data because the system is also pulling up approved/declined changes.
