“Excellent Product, Service and Support”

OverallMy office implemented the MyGov Software applications in 2008 and we have been nothing but impressed with the level of excellence in the software and the team of support that comes with your subscription. The updates that they have made through the years have been seamless and their willingness to tailor the software to our needs has been invaluable. I anticipate continuing to utilize the MyGov applications throughout the remainder of my career and I would recommend it to anyone involved in government code enforcement activities.
ProsThe MyGov software has been the best tool we have ever used for tracking and maintaining records for our Code Enforcement operations. The ease of use of the software and compatibility across platforms allows our inspectors to take the software from their desk into the field to perform inspections and re-inspections and upload photos to the software in realtime.
ConsIf I had one criticism of the software, I would like to reduce the number of clicks to move from one step to the next.

“Small Agency Code Enforcement”

OverallI don't have anything to compare this program to, and I do find this program helpful. Code enforcement is currently handled by the police department. The city is divided in districts. I wish there was a messenger that would update everyone on what is opened and updates on each case.
ProsI like how it's able to tie into the County Appraisal District.
ConsMy problems might because we're a small agency, and don't use the program according what y'all had in mind. But, my supervisor prints out a review at end of month to show council. This number only shows closed cases. Some cases take a lot of time and work, and don't make the report. If the report could show activity of the case instead of closure, that would be great.

“WHY SO COMPLICATED?”

OverallMY EXPERIENCE SO FAR HAS BEEN AWFUL. THIS SOFTWARE HAS DOUBLED AND MAYBE TRIPLED ARE TIME TO OPEN A CASE. IT IS VERY COMPLICATED TO SETUP AND USE. I HAVE NOTICED STEPS ARE REDUNDANT AND REQUIRE MULTIPLE CLICKS REVIEW. THERE ARE CERTAIN ITEMS THAT SHOULD BE AUTO APPROVED OR DEFAULT WITHOUT REVIEW...FOR EX. LOCATION ADDRESS AND VIOLATIONS. THERE SHOULD ALSO BE A BETTER FOCUS ON A CENTRALIZED LOCATION FOR NOTES AND PHOTOS. A CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER WRITES A REPORT OF ALL INTERACTIONS AND VIOLATIONS. ITS A VERY IMPORTANT PART OF FAMILIARIZING OURSELVES WHEN TIME HAS PASSED OR IF OTHER OFFICERS STEP IN TO HELP. I HAVE ISSUES WITH INSPECTORS DEFAULTING TO ROUND-REPRESENTATIVE FOR INSPECTIONS, WHICH IS COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY. I DISLIKE RECEIVING NOTIFICATIONS FOR SIMPLE CASE REVIEWS AND DELAYS ON EVERY CASE. “My experience with MyGov”

ProsThe click and choose next step in a case is very nice and easy to use. Very user friendly format. Having the ability to set up the steps and word them to fit your city's procedures is a great benefit.
ConsSetting up the steps is a pain. I came in after my City purchased the software. There was no one to train me and there was not a user manual from MyGov. After I taught myself, it got easier. Download speed to attach pictures in a case is very slow at times.

“Too many quirks”

OverallDates are incorrect (re-inspect dates) trying to get customer service to understand this as well as other issues is difficult if not impossible
ProsThe basic ease to use is average but to be able to manipulate forms letters or to get in to change things is difficult
ConsThe fact that form letters CAN NOT be manipulated in the field or on desktop.

“Straightforward design ”

ProsI like the simple search features and easy navigation. Being able to upload pictures and documents directly in inspection results makes organization easy.
ConsI have had some odd glitches with the fee calculation aspects as well as adding in new addresses. However, these were easily corrected.

“Super easy to use in the field.”

ProsThat is keep records of all the case loads that are being worked.

“Mygov is not very user friendly.”

OverallI did not get anything from using Mygov.
ProsThe only thing I liked about Mygov is the program will notify an inspector when it is time for a re-inspection.
ConsMygov will only allow an inspector to address one violation per case. For example if you are conducting routine inspections and you come across a home or a business with multiple violations, Mygov will only allow you to address one at a time. Which means an inspector will have to open a separate case for each violation. If a home has four violations at the property the owner will receive four separate violation letters addressing each violation, instead of one letter explaining all violation on the property.
