Pros: Puts the schedule for the entire staff in one, easy to view place. Software provides reminders of work that is especially helpful for varying schedules. Ability to message coworkers to arrange work coverage. Has a mobile app to enable viewing while on the go.

Cons: The message part of the software, especially on the mobile app, has been difficult to use well. Unable to clear messages once started, even if by accident.

Overall: Able to view updates to staff schedules, to easily track changes and know who to expect to be at work each day.

Pros: There's clear visuals and decent sales/labor integration. The employee side of the platform has worked really well for us.

Cons: The timeclock side of things is a little clunky. It should be easier to link job types to the timeclock and schedule.

Overall: An scheduling system that integrates with the POS sales data.

Homebase has a ton of great features.

Pros: The scheduling within the app has been a huge asset. As a small company that is just getting started with set schedules, this provides a clear, easy way to let my employees know weeks in advance what their schedule is. Clocking in and clocking out is seamless for employees as well.

Cons: There is a tiny learning curve. If you spend the morning with it and read the FAQs you can be an expert in no time. Another con is an employee can't edit their own schedule. With Homebase, if they make a mistake, they always have to come to me to correct it, rather than me verifying their shift after they corrected it.

Overall: Clear communication. Easy time tracking. A great dashboard.

Amazing! A great tool for start- up companies!

Pros: Running multiple retail store locations with over hundreds of part / full time team members. Homebase provides an excellent tool for our HR to run schedules, making it easy for team members to cover shifts at different locations, shorten payroll hours verification at end of month, bargain costs in services fees, very good customer support center on trouble shooting. Homebase is the best choice for millions of start up companies or small business that are growing rapidly.

Pros: Homebase is capable of so many different, important things like scheduling time off, seeing your schedule, trading shifts with someone, seeing how many hours you've worked, and how much you've made.

Cons: I don't think there's anything I don't like about the software. It's beautiful and unlike anything I've used before. I suppose the only thing I don't like is that there isn't an option to show that you've been promoted. So it might think, after you've increased your hourly wage, that you've always been paid that amount and gives you an incorrect amount of how much you've made.

Overall: It's easier and faster than other software that tries to do something similar. It has all of the information I need in an easily accessible site or app.

We use the free version of this product to manage our workforce and love it!

Pros: This software makes it easy to track employee hours and to create upcoming schedules. It allows us to have access and they can check their schedules in the app.

Cons: If I paid for the software I would have more functionality. Right now employees can request days off, but not partial days off.

Overall: Scheduling, clock ins, and timesheets.

Easy to set up and use. Scheduling and sending my payroll info to my accountant is very easy.

Pros: The scheduling is my favorite. Very easy to change and update information. Also are able to keep track of availability

Cons: Can't mark a week as paid. Would like to pay an employee and close out the week. Also would like to mark as called in sick

Pros: good record keeping abilities, economical and constantly being upgraded which will determine a better product eventually

Cons: keep adding more steps to get to the dang clock which makes me hate this app more every day. if you are trying to hurry and clock in - forget it. give up. you have to click at least five things before you get there. we all appreciate options but the first thing to come up should be the clock in

Homebase has made my job of scheduling employees so easy.

Pros: Knowing when my employees punched in and when there late. Love the text notifications, Employees like having their schedule with them at all times.

Cons: Not being able to edit employee info, phone, email,
Being the administrator I should be able to edit employee information that I previously entered.

Pros: The software is easy to use and affordable. Fast. Perfect for small businesses with less than 50 employees. It was included in my Clover POS System at no charge. There is additional functionality available for and extra monthly charge.

Cons: Can't control the print outs to get them to look the way you want. It does not appear to be highly customizeable.

Overall: I was able to save some money monthly that i was paying for Shiftplanning software. This offered me similar functionality at a very low price.

Pros: Prior to using this system, I used to use google calendar and I relied on my employees to check the calendar in order to know when they work. Now with home base I can:

- See when my employees viewed the scheduled via text or email
- See when my employees arrive late or miss a shift all together
- Request a trade or coverage

One feature I recently paid for was the ability to monitor their breaks better. In the past, we had just given them paid breaks and hoped they'd punch back in at a reasonable time. However, now we give them a set time and any additional time is taken as unpaid. I love that I don't have to watchdog them for their entire shift.

Cons: The schedule layout is a little wonky. I don't do the best with color definition, so It would be nice if they allowed schedulers to use symbols instead of colors to define job responsibilities.

Pros: It has everything you could need!
The software is very self explanatory and easy to use. Has lots of options for customization and makes my life so much easier.

Cons: Some of my less techy staff have some issues with it but we have been able to figure everything out pretty easily.

Overall: Drastically shortens the time i have to spend every week on schedualing and budgeting labor.

This product save me a great deal of time week over week.

Pros: Helped with schedule predictions for start-up coffee shop planning. Was referred to this program by another coffee shop owner. Loaded job titles, proposed hourly pay, and began to schedule people/positions to confirm manpower needs based on shop hours, helped predict weekly pay costs for start up budgeting. I like the daily email updates for me as administrator (and GM) and reminder of my scheduled shift coming up Will upgrade from the basic level once the shop opens.

Cons: Took a little time to learn navigation for entering personnel information and loading schedule. Able to grasp quickly and works good now for me.

Overall: For a start-up, helps predicts wages and schedules with actual schedule model that can later be used as a template when the shop opens.

Pros: Simple easy to use and up to date. I like the fact the employees can clock in off of the I pad. On the app I can see a daily view of labor hours. So convenient especially when you are a mobile company. Works great. Thanks

Cons: Sometimes it doesn't load the app. It takes a while but it loads. It won't allow me to export to quickbooks the time cards.

Pros: I switched from,the free version to the next one up. I love it. It makes payroll so easy and I don't have to worry. Numbers are good. Easy to fix errors.

Cons: Wish you did not have to pay the big bucks to get more reports. There are only 1 or 2 I would like. But that's ok

Pros: Labor tracking, time clock and ease of use. The ability for employees to use the time clock with picture capture is awesome!

Cons: Wish the time clock was available for managers on phone app. I have had some managers and owners that want their employees to report directly to them soon arrival. They don't always have a tablet or iPad with them. So having this on their phone would be easier.

Pros: The sheer convenience and ease of use is a great draw for this app! Let you gather analytics easily, and presents them in easy to understand ways.

Cons: More features should be made available in the free version, like the Mobile Time Clock, which are only present in the upgrades.

Overall: It is so easy to coordinate team schedules, and track team performance via the app. The ease at which you can track each members analytics is a great advantage to owners. Well done, Homebase!

Pros: Easy to use, no one can state they didn't know their schedule as it is texted to them. I can color co-ordinate the schedule to assign various tasks. If I change the schedule, I can have it sent only to those affected instead of bombarding everyone.

Cons: I want to utilize the time clock but it's not as generic as I would like. I on't like that I have to have them log in under a management log in every time. I would rather it be super simple to where they can select their name and clock in or out.

Very easy for me and my staff to use.

Pros: Love the ease of use when doing the schedule. So very easy to maneuver though and easy for the staff to sign on and look at schedule.

Cons: Would like to have more flexibility when adding an employee when there is a mistake, for example in the email.

Pros: Reasonable price, ease of use, compatibility with SurePayroll, communication options with employees.

Cons: More flexibility in reports (e.g., control which columns to see and width of columns) and exporting.

Overall: I run multiple businesses and have used a variety of time-clock programs. I ran into Homebase by accident through my clover account. It became my favorite program and I am looking to switch my other businesses over to it.

Pros: Extremely convenient and manageable on the go from your smartphone app

Overall: This app has made scheduling almost effortless. I also really like the feature of my weekly reports comparing my employee salary expenses vs revenue generated. It even breaks it down per employee if you'd like. Im completely satisfied and happy I downloaded and use this app.

Comments: We like it for managing staff at several locations. Easier for each team member to keep up with their own dates rather than emailing back and forth.
If we could add one thing it would be to somehow set up a reminder to those users that requests / updates are due for the next scheduling period at a certain time on a regular basis.

Cons: I honestly can't think of a single thing I don't like

Overall: Hands down the best part about Clover is Homebase. It saves you time, it saves you money, employees love it. Literally everything about it is Superb.

Cons: mobile site is not great

Overall: We have beening using Homebase for about 8 months and it is better than any of the other online timeclocks we've used so far. The desktop version is great, we can message each other and our staff, change settings, look up staff phone numbers, etc. The version on our phones is not great. Staff will try to clock in or out and are standing in my break room and the app says they are not on site...but they are! That can be frustrating. We also can't find each others phone numbers on the mobile site and that would be helpful. Mostly, we love it tho!

Recommendations to other buyers: allow staff to find each others phone numbers easily so they can contact each other

Comments: I do all our scheduling and timesheets through Homebase. I love that my staff can see their schedule online and through an app as well as get reminders for their shift. The ability to copy schedules from one week to the next is very powerful. If I need to put someone on another shift it's very simple to do from the app while I'm on the go. There are many features available in the basic version that are just right for my small business and if I wanted to do more I have several options to get more features.

Pros: I love that the employees can request time off or switch/trade shifts from their phone and I can instantly deny or approve the request. I love the ease of pulling the time sheets, and reading the time sheets. I love the access to be able to edit employees time on a daily or weekly basis. Employees can be horrible for clocking in early unauthorized, not clocking out to walk down the street to the store, etc. This app makes it simple to edit this carelessness from employees without even having to sit them down and talk to them about clocking in and out. Its kind of like, Okay, you want to take 20 mins to walk down to dollar general and you have already taken your lunch previous, oh and you didn't clock out. Well let me fix that mistake for you. The system tracks tardies, which is awesome, bc after 90 days, anyone who has been tardy more than 20% of their shifts, only gets offered a part time position within the company. This system gives us accurate data to show the employees at their 90 day evaluation, and the data can't be disputed bc it is tracked based on their clock in and clock out times.

Cons: I don't like the fact that there is not room for multiple clock outs under the edit mode. If we do not clock out for an extra break, there is no where to add it. I always have to add the time employees are gone to their lunch break. It give a false interpretation and false data when we pull data from this system for evaluations. I really wish you would update this to add columns for extra breaks, and reasons for the breaks. Also, I wish you would add a column to give explanation for employees that clock in late, miss a scheduled day, or clock out early. This system does not even track early clock outs, just late clock ins. We often find that employees will leave early to take care of things, and sometimes it can become repetitous. I would like to be able to track the data.

Overall: Okay, so I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS APP AND LOVE THIS PRODUCT. Home base is easy to use, easy to read, easy to understand. The platform is SERIOUSLY DUMMY PROOF! My 9 year old daughter helped me set it up. It is seriously that easy! My 4 year old will open my app and can tell if I forgot to clock out when I left work, and he even knows how to clock me out at the right time! It really is just that simple. I love the restrictions it offers. I can determine whether employees can clock in and out from their app, I can determine whether they can see labor reports, view other employees schedule, and I love the fact that they can request off right from the app, and I can approve or deny right from the app. I love that they can switch schedules and I can approve it instantly from home. This app just has so many great features. I will never use another payroll system again.

Overall: We really love using homebase. It is very easy to set up and get started! I love that the schedule is sent out either via text or email to my employees as soon as I publish it. I am able to make changes easily. I also like the fact that my employees can put their availability in, it makes it very easy to see who is available. We are also using the timecard feature. Highly recommend it. Best part about it, is it is FREE! LOVE IT!

Comments: I currently use the free version of the software. However, I can see the value of moving to a paid version should my business continue to grow. The software is very user friendly from the employer & employee sides! Highly recommend!

Pros: I love the Schedule and it keeps up with the hours. And it is easy for staff to use.

Cons: That when one person clocks in it doesn't remind the other person to clock in.

Overall: We can not say enough about Homebase and how it has helped our business grow to 7 locations across 3 states ( FL, TX, and NV) with some 80 employees. We could not have managed our staff, Labor cost, Scheduling, Labor Cost Management, and get the support anywhere other than Homebase. When we receive calls from other companies promising everything, it's a short conversation once we inform them of all the FREE services we currently get from Homebase.

Staff training took less than 5 minutes. With the Mobile App. They now schedule their own shifts and changes to the schedule. They communicate with us and other employees.

Homebase feeds into our payroll, gives us a real-time complete one screen view of our organization, including real-time sales, real-time Labor cost, who is working at what location all from our mobile phone. We are able to make an adjustment on the fly if our sales to labor cost are out of balance by sending someone home early or get extra help when required. All this over a coffee or lunch. LOW-STRESS MANAGEMENT.

Pros: I love how easy it is to use from my phone, home or office. I love that my employees can do the same, and request time off and get email/text reminders when I make changes

Cons: My employees schedules are always very different, I have to create a new schedule from scratch each time and setting up shifts can be a little time consuming. It would also be nice to have a feature on my schedule for days we are closed, like holidays.

Overall: I love how easy it is to keep track of my employees. Scheduling is my least favorite part of my life and Homebase makes it very easy for me to take care of it wherever I am. My employees love that they can use their phones to check their schedules and request time off. It's a very seamless system.

Overall: We used to use spreadsheets for recording employee time, but often the formulas would get messed up and it was annoying to always be fixing them or reminding people to fill them out. With Homebase our employees easily clock in and out on the iPad app each day, and I can review everything or quickly make corrections on the secure website. We are a small business (5 hourly employees) and use the basic version of Quickbooks, so our Homebase time doesn't upload into it. However for what we need it for, it works perfectly! There is a lot of built in functionality that can be used for a variety of businesses, but we just don't need it for our office.

Whenever I've called with a question or concern, their support team is responsive and professional. I would highly recommend Homebase without hesitation.

Comments: This is a great tool for managing my coffee shop! I can edit scedules or incorrect clock in times from my phone and I can also keep tabs on the revenue made via the homebase app. I also really love the labor percentage feature that allows me to see the cost of labor versus money made for the day.

Pros: I love being able to access Homebase on my phone. The features available at the Free level are sufficient for my needs at this time and that is very helpful with so many software programs charging for the most minimal of services. I am excited that there are more robust plans available as my business continues to grow that will help me manage my team even more efficiently and with a wider range of options for structure.

Cons: No cons really because everything that has ever been difficult to use within the software has been resolved and fairly quickly.

Overall: I have been using Homebase for over a year. It has been extremely useful for all of my scheduling needs. The few gaps present in the beginning were solved and streamlined. Support has always been over the top amazing! Thanks for a great product!

Pros: This app has been extremely beneficial for employees to quickly run cash out reports and enter cash tips at end of shift. The mobile app is great for correcting clock in/out times and adjusting cash tips in a matter of seconds. Great tracking for payroll and syncing with clover. I have not used the scheduling feature yet, but love the functionality of it.

Cons: The free version does not allow you to assign multiple jobs to each employee.

Overall: Free software that really works and simplifies payroll and scheduling. Absolutely love the customer service and it is offered 24/7! Need to call at midnight? Not a problem!

Pros: That it goes out to everyones phone with 1 button

Cons: Hard to say. So far, its been great!

Overall: We were doing schedules on excel, which was a nightmare to keep up with. Now when people need a day off it reminds me, I don't have to keep up with loose papers requesting time off. Getting hours corrected is much easier. I would certainly recommend this product to any small business

Pros: Cloud based, easy to use and always accurate.

Cons: Needs better integration with WellsFargo Business Payroll Services. It's not horrible, but could be smoother.

Overall: I was looking for a simple way to run my business and was really surprised how robust the Homebase system was. Coming from the software industry I was skeptical at first, but it really does allow me to focus on other aspects of the business. Great product and support all-in-all. Definitely recommend.

Cons: Scheduling interface. Only because I really like Google calendar. I have a hard seeing who is scheduled when. I'm getting used to it, so it's not a deal breaker.

Overall: We used to use Google Calendar to schedule. And timeclockvsoftware on our PC POS. Which I monitored and manually adjusted at the terminal, to manual generate a PDF report saved to a shared file in the cloud that My bookkeeper used to enter into our payroll processors software... Now, we create the schedule, monitor activity, make adjustments, view and generate all reports, remotely! Everyone who needs access, has it! Welcome to the 21st century!

Recommendations to other buyers: I would like to see all employee information, including time availability, in one place. Like if I Clicked on Johns profile, anything related to John was under that one tab... Personal information, requested time off, availability, hours scheduled, hours worked, etc.

Pros: It keeps an accurate account of employee shifts worked.

Cons: It is still a bit confusing for setting up, but if I just commit to it I would probably find myself really utilizing it's functions more.

Overall: I use this for tracking employee schedule. Tracks time employees have work so that figuring payroll is easy. Catch employee errors a lot.

Comments: I wish I could rate Homebase 10 stars! Of all the things that I use in my business Homebase would be one that I could never let go. I have been with them from the start and have never experienced a growing company striving so hard in customer satisfaction. There were bumps in the road developing the product BUT never once has their customer service let me down. They continually improve and always listen to requests . Response is almost instant when I am in need of help. I am old and set in my ways and this was the most user friendly product ever. We are a Pet Resort not food service and it more than meets our needs daily. My staff loves the ease of use and would revolt if we tried to change back to our previous system.
