Best Two Factor Identification App

2FA For the Enterprise

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: Duo has made it easy for our company to use 2FA across several of our services. It's easy to implement and easy to manage. Duo integrates easily with 3rd party applications and services. Users can use multiple ways to authenticate to Duo.
Cons: Push notifications to Cellphones can be spotty if a user has poor cell reception. Not necessarily a failure on Duo's part but it should be considered if you are going to use the App Push for authentication.
Overall: We wanted a 2FA solution for our VPN and password management solutions. Duo integrates with both. We also needed a 2FA solution that can be used by a wide variety of users. We have many remote users so being able to authenticate via app, text, or phone call makes it easy for all of our users to gain access in a way that is secure and available to them.
Best thing I ever did for securing my website

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: Security Features, Ease of Use, Apps
Cons: Their website is not easy to use because there are so many features available, which might be overwhelming to someone not familiar with it
Overall: Ever since I've started using DuoSecurity to access my website admin interface, I haven't had any breaches in security and I feel safer knowing that hackers can't access my website easily.
I've been using DuoSecurity for several years now and offer it as part of my Security Packages when I launch a client's website, because it's a quick setup and for ease of mind.
I use an app on my iPhone that sends me a notification when I go to log in to my site, allowing me to "Approve" or "Disapprove" access to the site's admin interface easily. I also use it to access other accounts online that allow for a Code to be entered, giving me that piece of mind that my personal information is secure.
Highly recommended!
Recommendations to other buyers: None.
1-click for Two-Factor Authentification

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: I have been an end user of Duo Security for the last 2 years, and I think that this is the best software for 2-factor authentification. The Duo App has a simply designed platform. When we sign into the website that requires authentification, we can just type a passcode provided by Duo App on the website or click an authentification request given by Duo App. Yes, it is that easy with Duo.
Cons: Setting up the Duo from the scratch can be challenging to some people who are not familiar with two-factor authentification. It is important for organizations or companies to provide a step-by-step installation procedure to users before they start using Duo as their sole authentification method.
Easy to use MF authentication

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: Once Duo is set up, it's super easy to use, whether responding to a push notification or generating a one-time use password.
Cons: When attempting to change preferences in a browser to allow it to retain your login status, you must cancel an initial automatic push from the authentication screen in a browser, check a "remember me" box, then wait some time before attempting another push. This is a security measure, but a minor annoyance when trying to quickly make a change and move on.
Overall: I have used Duo Authentication at two institutions now as a two-factor authentication means. It is very easy to use and even less tech-savvy coworkers find it easy and straight forward to use.
Simple Solution for Added Account Security

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: Unlike other 2-step authentication services that require you to punch in a short, "random" code in order to access your account, Duo Security makes securing an account simpler. Got a smartphone? Download the Duo Security app, link it to an account (typically an email account, though Duo can work with other services as well,) and decide how you want to be alerted about log-ins. The next time you try to log in, Duo will contact your phone, and you'll be able to authenticate your log-in with a simple button-press. That's it.
There are other options as well. If you don't want to use the smart phone, Duo will call a landline and ask if you're the appropriate user for the account. You can also save multiple methods to the same account.
Cons: Linking Duo to my email account took some doing. By and large, it was a simple, step-by-step process. However, I could imagine easily fouling up one of those steps and getting lost and frustrated. There's no problem with the service itself, it's just getting started with it requires a little time and focus. Once it's set up, however, using Duo is completely painless, and its recovery features are simple (in the event you get a new phone, computer, etc.)

Duo Security Review

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: Duo Security is very easy to use and understand. I like that you do not have to have the app on your phone and that it has the feature to be called for the login.
Cons: I dont have anything negative to say. This is a good option for a two factor authentication. It is very up to date.
Overall: I use Duo Security to login to all of my work accounts. It is used by the whole university and it is very easy to understand, implement, and is very up to date. I enjoy Duo Security. When it was first implemented, I was annoyed that it would be another step for my login process, but it is not burdensome at all and is very fast and efficient.
Duo Security - it works!

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: I like how quickly this app loads on my phone in order to log into my two factor. I primarily use it for that and am regularly traveling for work so knowing I can rely on this app is fundamental.
Cons: If ever you have a question or need changes to your account you will need to contact your system admin. This is obviously for security but unideal if time is short.
Overall: Overall I'd say it does exactly what I need it to nearly 100% of the time. The times it doesn't work are almost generally on the user side (eg: installing a new device will need IT assistance) and not on the software or app's

Used to authenticate access for high school gateway portals.

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: I think it keeps accounts really secure because you can set up the account to be able to send push requests to a finite amount of devices. It's also pretty easy to use because you just press one button and it works very quickly to grant/deny access.
Cons: The 6-digit passcodes that are there that you can regenerate whenever you want are a bit confusing and it's hard to know what those entail. This could be a problem with the school system but it would be helpful if Duo gave some sort of instructions when downloading the app.
Simple Software For Two-Step Authentification

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: Duo Security makes 2-step authentification simple. After an initial registration of the website that requires 2-step authentification on the Duo app, all I have to do to grant access to the website is clicking approve button on the app on my phone or entering passcode on the website. This software makes 2-step authentification take only 5 seconds.
Cons: I cannot think of any negative aspects of this software. This software is so simple and doesn't have any unnecessary features. There are no parts to be improved.
Easy as 123

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: I use this as an inbound sales marketer for Carnival Cruise Lines and thoroughly loved it I had no issues with my computer whether I was working or not it did not allow any viruses to get through and no breach of security
Cons: That I had to help make sure my cell phone was right there to confirm my signing in
Overall: I had no issues with Duo security the company I was with I was taking credit cards and personal information and I had no breach of any sort no one getting in and no information getting out so overall it was an awesome experience and if we get back to doing that on our construction side that is definitely a program I would use again and definitely refer others to
Great two factor authentication provider
Pros: Duo integrates out of the box with a lot of SaaS systems, and it is easy to set up for users. For unsupported SaaS, or in house apps, it possible to set up a lightweight agent running locally on your network that will extend 2fa functionality to unsupported systems. This agent is easy to set up.
Cons: Onboarding users onto the platform in bulk is a bit of a challenge. I wish there was more instructional resources for introducing the product to the company. Sometimes the app freezes when the user is expecting a push, and therefore they are unable to complete the 2fa process.
Two factor authentication made easy

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: Simple, easy to use software for two factor authentication, you can use the app, get a phone call, or get sent a list of access codes through text, making your account more secure from hacking.
Cons: The program is really easy to use to with a simple push of a button on your phone, but if you don't have your phone there is no way to get through the Duo security, a computer app is needed.
Best option for website security, would definitely recommend.
Pros: We go to Duo after Clef closed shop - Clef was ridiculously easy to use. After trying three other options (dismal failures) we hit on Duo and it has been perfect since. It works fast every time and has good supporting documentation available online. Authentication options are all good and they are all fast, pretty much instantaneous. Duo is well worth it for the peace of mind knowing the website has this layer of security in place.
Cons: Some difficulty getting re-set when I upgraded my phone; followed the simple instructions and had to do it all over a couple of times before it finally "took". Could have just been me, I wouldn't consider this as a real con, more likely user error.

Definitely the best 2-factor app I've used

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: Duo Security for the most part just works. I very rarely have connectivity issues, I've never had token mismatches or problems of that nature. It does the job it's supposed to do, and does it very well.
Cons: Really my only complaint is that sometimes the push notification doesn't work properly, in a variety of different network settings. But it's infrequent, and I've yet to have a case where I've missed it (because if I'm trying to log in to something, I know I'm doing so and can pop open the app if need be).

DUO is a great choice, although this is not the cheapest solution.

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: It is very good that it is compatible with Apple Watchcon. The design is very intuitive and has an excellent Interfax, you do not need training to use it. In addition, the documentation they provide is well written. Support is quick answer any question. The end-user experience is very simple and easy. The product works and they have given us great support by bringing systems online. DOU is the best product I found in the market.
Cons: I'm just saying it's expensive. It is the only bad thing that this product has. I think we are getting all the quality we want ... DOU is necessary for the company and I do not regret using it.
Overall: DOU was a great choice in everything. Compared to some of the other multi-factor platforms, this is by far the easiest to manage and configure. This product gave the company a clear and clear documentation, which reflected its platform as one of the best. It is the best choice.

Simple Authenticating for Security!

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: It was very simple to download the app once our company started using the software. We have some more technologically not-so-savvy employees, and they were even able to catch on fast. It's nice that you also have the option for them to call your cell too, if you don't want to do the app or do not have a smart phone. Has really helped boost our security and keep compliant.
Cons: A few glitches and issues with the app, but otherwise, we have not run in to issues on our end has users!

Use for work, Quick Easy Access

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: It loads quickly and makes logging into work a breeze. I love the three different options it provides us for logging in as well.
Cons: I wish I could include other websites/softwares to my duo token but it doesn't seem to work just yet with my other accounts. I'd love to eventually be able to keep all of my accounts secure through a quick easy app and I think with a little time Duo could be that app
Overall: So far it has been a breeze. I have yet to encounter any bugs, and it is pretty straightforward once you link your account to it.

Simple, easy, and it works!

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: Extremely easy to set up and use. I use this on a daily basis for accessing my employee portal on our website and have never had a single issue.
Cons: You need to have your cell phone right by you and approve the push quickly, sometimes too quickly, but I guess that's a positive for the added security.
Duo Security makes 2-Step a Breeze

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: With the app, I don't have to copy-paste on my phone or read my phone to type into my computer. I just press the button to allow access. Two step authentication without much hassle.
Cons: Set up at first can be tricky, but once it's done you don't have to worry about that.
Great for security but what if I forget my phone?

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: We used this software to remotely log into our VPN and HRIS systems. Duo offers a secure way to access system's with little headache in the process.
Cons: The only con I can see in using this app, what if I forgot my phone? It has not happened yet, but worry that if I forgot my phone one day I will not be able to access our systems. I used our systems 75% of every day, so this would be a big problem should I ever forgot my phone.
We use this tool for 2-factor authentication purposes.
Pros: The software is easy to use for endusers via the app. It supports fingerprint authentication. It integrates quickly with a on-perm and SaaS solutions.
Cons: The initial setup for endusers can be a bit cumbersome for other platforms than iOS and Android.
easy to authinicate who you are

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: I liked the fact that you are able to authinicate in a two step process, this gives more security to the clients as well.
Cons: I had to go to the administrator to send me a reactivation link because I quit receiving push notifications. I wish the company would have enabled the self service portal,as I would have been able to resolved the issue on my own.
Overall: the benefits that I got through this software was feeling more secure in the work environment, this is assurance that the client is using the appropriate security that is needed.

Duo is annoying to use but I see the value in it

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: I like that I know the services Duo is protecting are actually being protected and nobody is going to be logging into my accounts. I like how you can click on the SAVE FOR 30 DAYS button on a specific device so you don't have to get permission every time.
Cons: I get my Duo security access on my phone which is nice because I have my phone with me most of the time. However, on a few occasion I haven't had my phone with me and then I'm not able to log into my stuff. ANNOYING!
Easy to Use

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: This software is super easy to use as long as I have my phone on me.
Cons: Setting it up can be difficult. I had to use the help desk at my company to get it set up.
Overall: Day to day use is very easy. It sends me a push notification when someone is trying to log into my work accounts, so I can easily verify if it's me or not.
Simple 2FA

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: I remember before Duo and signing into VPNs and secure places was a huge pain. Now I get a push notification and I'm productive.
Cons: Maybe it's the settings, but it feels like I need to re-sign in a bunch of times but it's easy with the push notifications.
Fantastic VPN Authenticator

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: It's simple, easy to configure, and makes connecting to VPN a breeze.
Cons: Sometimes it takes a bit too long to authenticate on the Duo mobile app. Not sure if this is on our side or Duos but it can be frustrating to wait for the app to let me log into VPN.
Great security tool for a large, corporate company!

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: We have a lot of security restraints within our company so Duo makes it easy to work remotely. They have an app that lets you get a secure code to login on your computer in order to get access to all the files without a security breach.
Cons: Besides the manual set up, there aren't any cons that would make our company switch to a different security software.
Overall: Our whole marketing team has gained the benefit of working remotely due to this trustworthy security software.
Secure and reliable authentication tool
Pros: ZWorks on all platforms: iOS, Drois, Windows, Blackberry. Keeps your accounts safe with this single tap authorization app.
Cons: Found that the 'remember me for 30 days" option doesn't always work esp on Windows devices. At times it can be a lag in the time the push notification arrives.
overall good product

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: I like that there is an option to keep me logged in for 12 hours so I don't have to continually verify myself. I also like that I can verify on my Apple Watch
Cons: Sometimes it takes a very long time after I approve to login for the login to go through.
Duo fast two factor checks

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: Duo is a very small non invasive two factor authorization for logins which works great instead of phone calls, emails and SMs messages sent to an user. You just install and in two clicks you have a short fast code.
Cons: Maybe the option to add it two other services yourself and not just through corporate channels. Would be a great two factor authorization for sharing Uber trips, Amazon wishlists, email logins, and so on.

Wonderful for two factor authentication

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: I like how easy it is to use for two factor authentication. I've been somewhat involved in the setup and administration of Duo, including its integration with F5 Access Policy Manager, and it's pretty smooth.
Cons: Most of the time the user setup is easy, but sometimes the explanations of what to do for the user can be confusing.
Overall: It helps my organization protect sensitive digital assets by providing another means of authentication of the user.
it's always worked perfectly

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: It's nearly instantaneous, and absolutely consistent. Hard to find in an app, even these days. And these things are absolutely crucial for an authentication app.
Cons: Nothing -- I'm especially glad it works on Android
SOOOO Easy

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: I can't believe how easy it is to set up a user and as a user to set up my account. It is amazing to use the push notification.
Cons: I have no issues for this product at all I hope others follow their lead.
Duo is very good application of two way authentication
Pros: Easy to install on cellphone.
Very user friendly.
Easy to operate and really smart and effective way of two way authentication.
Duo Security, additional accounts can be added and managed simultaneously. Adding accounts is also easy, simply point the device at the generated QR code.
Authentication occurs right away you don't have to wait for more than 1 sec.
Cons: Fingerprint feature can be added as a good security feature.
If you switch your cellphone and download Duo application again it will again require re-activation.
Duo provides large organizations with the best account security

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: Once you get it up and running, Duo is easy to use. The 15 seconds that it takes to do 2-factor authentication is worth the security that we get in exchange.
Cons: Sometimes the mobile alert is slow to respond or does not pop up at all, making it so that I have to go into the app or close it and retry again. It doesn't respond quickly all of the time.
Works ok, but I like Google Authenticator better

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: It gets the job done whenever I have to log in to one of several services. In comparison to other authentication services, this is pretty decent- not the best, not the worst.
Cons: It works , but the design of the mobile app is not really modern. It also does not look like a native iOS app, but rather like a custom-made product, in a negative way.

great 2F authentication tool for additional account security

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: I like that Duo Security offers several authentication options. It ensures only the authorized individual access personal accounts or sensitive info on our system. It is convenient and minimizes chances of cyber security threats. It integrates with most third-party apps and online platforms.
Cons: It may not be a suitable option if you have to access your account in settings that do not allow use of mobile phones. I dont have any bad experience with this tool.
Duo Security Review

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: I like how easy this software is to use and how it gives us a sense of security when we use it.
Cons: I have no complaints about this software. It always works for us and we have had no issues with it.
Overall: We use this software to remotely log in to our server.
Duo, Multi Factor Authentication

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: I love how easy Duo is to use. it is great for our end users they can just about figure it out on their own.
Cons: The management console can be a little confusing to learn and generating one time codes can be tricky.

Duo adds an extra layer of protection

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: The software allows me, as a user, to log into my protective medical records and email outside of the hospital.
Cons: There is sometimes a time lapse when sending a "signal" to allow access.
Overall: Duo allows information to have an extra layer of protection. It allows users to access their emails that are protected outside of the hospital and healthcare system. It makes my workflow, as a user, convenient, fast, and protected.
Two step verification for college website

Pros: I like that I can have multiple devices registered. This helps me have access to my college websites from whichever device I currently have at the time. I do also like that it remembers my device for 30 days.
Cons: I do not like that sometimes I am not able to verify myself on my cell phone. Sometimes switching from Safari to the mobile app to verify would disrupt the verification process for some reason. It would say the "push" was no longer valid and I could verify myself after that.
Best two factor authentication tool

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: It's easy to set up and it's really convenient that it supports multiple devices and platforms. Very clean and intuitive interface. Also like the option of giving you a push or a passcode. Used it at two different jobs and never had an issue with it.
Cons: Sometimes the push doesn't show up in my phone's notifications, but otherwise it's great.
Great user experience for a security product

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: It is a extremely intutive, deloghtfully designed product. We implemented dual security in our school and duo actually made it a seamless experience.
Cons: The activation barcode is a bit hidden and opens up a camera without indication on where to point (for eg whatsapp puts a layer on top of the camera which is helpful)
Overall: Great experience esp in the security space
Perfect security solution

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: Everyone has their phone on them anyway - and enabling "push" notifications on Duo is the best advice I could give. It makes 2FA so incredibly easy - rather than waiting up to a minute for a text code you have to remember and type in.
Cons: No cons! I think that this works fantastically and I really enjoy using it. I would recommend to everyone
Due is a great security tool.
Pros: What I like most about Duo is how it gives you options for your security checks. If I forget my phone or don't have my laptop I am still able to a different option.
Cons: What I like least about this software is that I actually have to use it. It is a great tool and works fine but it makes logging in an inconvenience.

Good security, in an easy form

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: I like that it is a secondary security measure to get on my college account. It sends a notification to my phone so that I can surely be the only one that is logging in.
Cons: What I like least is when I don't have my cellphone on me and I need to do verify my identity. It can be slightly inconvenient, but knowing that others can't log on and see my personal information makes it up.
Overall: It is beneficial in keeping student information confidential, which is a very practical and important!

Feeling Secured

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: * Very easy to use multifactor verification system * You can use a key fob, phone call or message to verify user
Cons: * If you decides to use a specific method of user verification, the system should be able to remember the users choice
Duo is slightly inconvenient but does the trick in a pinch

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: We don't use Duo for our own purposes. We have several clients that use it, and therefore we have to also use it. So, for us, it's just an extra step that can sometimes be frustrating if the right people don't have access (i.e. I receive a push and I need to approve it for someone else, but I don't have my phone on me so they aren't able to log in).
Cons: It's a bit difficult to set up and get going. Adding users can be complicated depending on how the individual accounts are configured.
Pros: I have used Duo for Two Factor Identification Security at two different employers so far in my career. It is such an easy to use, efficient and effective application. It eliminates the need to keep track of external network keys, passwords, and other redundant programs. I feel safe and secure with Duo Two Factor Identification because it requires both my phone and fingerprint in order to gain access to protected software.
Cons: Earlier this year I had to replace my iPhone and after I restored my new device from backup my Duo Two Vactor Identification was no longer linked. To my surprise, It took several hours to restore and reset my security settings at work the next morning. Although the Duo reset was quite inconvenient for me that day, restoring software is both an infrequent and uncommon occurrence for me.
