Complete disconnect from the sales person who made all the promises. Your are then passed on to a ‘Customer Success Manager’ who processes your set up and sends it off to IT coders in what they call “I generated a ticket”. But coders are absolutely inexperienced in construction cost coding. And cannot deliver what sales committed to. Rakens left hand does’t talk to the right hand. Sales make commitments that are not achievable. And there’s no response to “who can I contact to resolve this problem?” 21 weeks still waiting. Pros I was sold a time card app that would integrate with our Sage300 cost coding and it would be up an running in 6 weeks Cons 21 weeks later and counting and Raken has not delivered a working app! I’m still waiting. More frustrating, they’ve completely refused to refund, address, fix or otherwise acknowledge this problem, except to say “I will look into your request” I have no working app. Yet they have my money. Gives everyone one place to put all the jobs and tracking everything moving through multiple job sites. Especially since this is the first and only construction app that we checked out and immediately put to use. We were able to add about 9 jobs in a two week period as it was being put into use. Pros It consolidated into one program that we could utilize for tracking job costs, work done, employee hours and materials used on the job. Cons At times, it does seem to be a little pricey when adding a new "seat at the table." September 15, 2022 5.0 Before Raken our Superintendents were filling out numerus hand written forms each day, this caused it to be impossible to get updated information with out making a lot of phone calls that took the eyes of our Superintendents off the quality of work being preformed. with Raken we have adapted all the information into the system and it can be accessed at any time, with pictures and descriptions. When we were looking for an app to cover all of our needs, Raken was the best option and at a affordable price. The Raken support team has always been quick to assist when needed. Pros It has all the reporting areas we need to provide quick access to information and our Superintendents can easily fill out information during the work day without taking a lot of time away from overseeing work quality. Cons Raken is always wanting feedback so they can improve the content of the program, our company has sent several ideas in for consideration over the time we have used the Raken program. Raken always response letting us know they appreciate our input. Your team does a good job being accessible and reaching out to help. Certain features we would like to see implemented that don't seem to be on your teams' plans have us looking for solutions elsewhere. Pros Accessibly and the simple interface makes the integration into using very simple for employees new to online softwares. The surveys are also very helpful and allow for easy to compute data being accessible for everyone to see. Cons Isn't much that can be tailored to our needs specifically. We have discussed with members of your team on certain features or abilities we would like to have available that you are unable to meet. Years of filing paper dailys left us with mountains of papers to file, lack of information, and inconsistent reporting. On the surface this is OK until something happens down the road that you need to look back. Sometimes a job that is over 5 years old needs to get dusted off and dredged out from the bowels of the filing cabinet. Raken solves that with its easy to use interface, cloud storage, and impressive looking reports. What sold us the most on the product was its ability to incorporate photos into our reports. It is well worth the upgrade in the account. Since our companies owner is not around all the time it allows him to log in at the beginning of each day and quickly get a visual feel for how each of our jobs are going. And we all know that a picture is worth a thousand words. This is paramount when an issue arises; photographic proof is money- be it going into your pocket, keeping it from coming out of your pocket, or in the monetary value of time. Although I would not say that Raken takes our employees less time in the field than our traditional reports (as their product promises) it does provide us with consistent reports that are easy for us to send to clients when needed, asses for subcontractor billing and most importantly: They guys USE it. Nothing is harder than getting your construction crew to follow a clerical procedure. Raken solves that with its easy to use mobile interface. Pros It is a software my guys in the field will and do use. It is simple as that. Cons Although constant updates are good, Raken does change their online site up relatively frequently as they roll out newer and better options for the product. Although the end result is good, for those who do not adapt to change in the technology world, or are not tech savvy it can be a bit frustrating. It doesn't matter if it is billing, recommendations, walking a non-tech employee through logging on, assisting on feature access or training, this company is by far one of the best in customer service and the level of power for field reporting is superior to anything we have had in the past! Pros 1\. Cloud based (no expensive servers, no storage limits) 2. Extremely easy to use 3. Allows Foremen/Superintendents to have very detailed field reports 4. Can share photos, recordings, weather, and reports with a link vs. large emails 5. Can track jobs by crews, employee, and cost codes 6. Easily document weather delays 7. Voice recording allows for a LOT of flexibility and complete detail 8. Phone, ipad, tablets or desktop are part of the accessibility with just a logon 9. All this at an affordable price 10. If you need to go to mediation and/or court, this is quite the electronic storage 11. Allows for employee to sign the time/work performed and no accidents 12. Easily modify your daily field report for different jobs. Cons 1\. We started when it first launched and it didn't have all the features but they were listening and added new things constantly 2. From the pitch, through proof of concept, license negotiations, implementation, and production, Raken has been very easy to deal with the entire way. Pros The struggle to produce quality daily reports at construction sites used to be real. Raken gave us an "Easy" button. It is almost hard to imagine life before Raken. Cons Raken has some extremely nice checklist features to collect data on the mobile app. The only con, is that getting to the data behind these checklists is not possible beyond the PDF report that the checklist produces. April 8, 2024 1.0 I have been utilizing this app for construction purposes for six years, and it has generally been reliable. However, following an update last summer, the app's performance on my Pixel Pro 7 has been inconsistent. Unlike other apps on my phone, this app now experiences frequent issues. Inputting notes and pictures now require multiple attempts, and the app often reboots and shuts off unexpectedly. Despite reaching out to tech support multiple times and following their suggestions, the problems persist. As a result, I have suggested to my employer that we consider transitioning to Procore. Pros The app is very easy to use when it's working properly. Cons The constant rebooting of the app while trying to utilize it on the job site. Review Source AC Amy C. Love that we can customize our cost codes and track prevailing wage classifications. Our field guys are notified their time cards are ready and it is very easy for them to go in an approve. The gallery on each project is so easy to use and upload and the one drive integration is amazing for our team! Cons Raken has been very easy to use. Pros Raken allows for easily uploading field notes and progress photos. We also have created customized checklists that we use for project initiation, preconstruction and progress meetings and punch list. Cons It would be better if the checklists were available right from the main screen where the daily report is listed. I think that would help team members remember. In addition to the inefficiency of its daily use, Raken has CAUSED us a loss of information on many of our daily reports. Raken puts me and my company at risk of supplying incomplete information to our client. This is unacceptable and I would not recommend this software. Use of this product has been mandatory between contractors on this Federal underground project, but we have found it to impede our work and not be as time-saving and efficient as the company claims. Pros Ability for all users to edit or add data to the same document Cons Glitchy. Not stable. Raken is limited to Internet Explorer and doesn't work well with that. I use other browsers by choice and Raken forces me to use I.E.. Much data has been lost due to Raken's inability to save attachments consistently. Sometimes they save, sometimes they pretend to save and disappear. Raken does not work well without internet or phone signal (like in an UNDERGROUND MINE). If one user is logged on, another user's interface with Raken is slowed down significantly.Editing equipment and crews is tedious and has to be repeated every day for every report. March 13, 2019 4.0 Pros 1) Its both on the mobile and desktop 2) I added all work logs so that I am always reminded of what things I have to look into 3) It has a task list 4) Can easily navigate between days / work logs 5) You can add pictures directly to any work log 6) It reminds you if you missed a daily report and you can specify which days you work 7) When you have repetitive work logs every day, you can use the roll over button and it'll automatically copy your previous day's report into today, without the pictures! 8) There's a note section where you can add general site notes, safety notes and so on 9) There are 6 survey questions that helps you stay on track every day and remind you of stuff 10) You can add more members and you can all contribute 11) It automatically adds today's weather to the report and so much more! it helps you stay organized and is very user friendly. Cons 1) I can not export all pictures or reports at once if i'm on the lowest plan 2) when you add a work log, its added to all future days ahead and will always show in the report even if it was empty and not added, this should change and raken should hide empty work logs from the report 3) work logs updates sometimes in a weird way and say you started with 10 work logs every day and if you delete some of the logs to not show in the report empty, raken will eventually update and delete that log from the upcoming days Review Source Response from RAKEN March 19, 2019 Thanks for all the great feedback, Ammar! We have found that this greatly cuts on paper waste, and improves response time by having uploads available in real time. Pros We are a commercial wood framing company. The best feature of this app is the ease of use for all of our foremen. The speak-to-text works great, and uploading pictures are simple. This gives us plenty of real-tie information. Cons Once you have multiple projects going, sometimes it is difficult to find a specific log that mentions a key item you are looking for from a month or two ago. I think it is adequate but could have a few more features where you can customize tabs. It doesn't seem like it is not that easy to filter and search topics (but i'm not completely familiar with all features). Pros Raken is fairly simple to use. Its feature are not complex or convoluted, and it covers enough to reflect accurate daley activities. I use the software mostly through my phone, but you have the option to do it from a PC. Cons Depending on network coverage using from your phone can be negative. When you go into the photo app you can't see the dates photos were taking making it difficult to select correct date range.
