It also makes it very simple to track open, draft, won, and lost proposals. Pros Better proposals keeps our proposal writing process streamlined, impresses our potential clients with the professional look and feel of our proposals, and saves us time by allowing us to add content to a library that we can reuse as a starting point on future proposals we write. I enjoy the creative options for graphic design, the utility, and the attention to detail like facilitating brand colors, logos, and corporate continuity. The customer service reps are usually very helpful and accommodating, and the price point is just right. Pros I LOVE Better Proposals because the platform gives me an advantage over my competitors. It provides a unique digital approach with a polished (aesthetic) without losing utility. The platform allows me to leverage graphic design, ease of use (point & click), and sales strategy (pitch & content). Cons It's not very easy to pull in existing presentations. While I believe there's a way to pull in a PDF or Word Doc and edit it as a Better Proposal Doc, I haven't figured out how to do that effectively. So I have to reproduce some of my existing presentations, pretty much, from scratch. Producer Photography Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Not as good as the competition and dishonest leadership" December 21, 2023 3.0 I found some actions by the founders in how they handled customers who pre-paid for a lifetime account in extremely questionable territory on ethics. Basically they took tens of thousands of dollars of early investors money and gave a lifetime account promising they would roll out online payments for credit cards. When they finally rolled it out, it is a free service for paid plans but they went back on their word for these early investors. They now want a percent of ALL the revenue paid through the platform ON TOP of the actual payment fees from Paypal etc. Except, if you give up your lifetime account and convert to a monthly subscription model, then they don't take a percent of your sales collected. The way they still to this day deny this basic integration they promised to these customers - their lack of bug fixes - their rude customer responses when it comes to this top Pros I like that I can make a proposal, save things as a template, and make a decent looking proposal. Cons I found the template builder a little bit clunky with the design and lost my designs a few times as I was learning the platform. If you are still working on Office/Pages, even Google Docs, you will understand how much time it takes finicking around details. Using their templates was more simple, and once you did some for your most frequent services, new ones would be easier and faster to create. I could also track when users checked on the proposals, and even add a live chat widget so that I could always be available for potential clients. I found a better offer for my needs on another platform, but I would still consider them depending on specific needs. Pros Coming from making Google Docs proposals, this platform was indeed Better. I was able to take advantage of their vast template library and quickly send proposals to clients. I liked how it tracked views for each individual recipient and how the dashboard was able to show you how much sales you have closed. Cons I was using the basic plan and even tho I never maxed their allowed proposals per month, I still found that intimidating. December 28, 2019 5.0 Overall, it is a really great software! If you're looking to create beautiful proposals that impress clients in timely manner, Better Proposals definitely comes through! Pros The template-rich platform makes it super easy to select a template and tweak it for our own individual use-case. It's like someone has done the research as to what you need in a particular proposal and all you have to do is go in and make a few changes to customize it to your particular case. Also, all the proposals are beautiful and easy to navigate by the clients. Clients are always impressed when they view a proposal from Better Proposals! Cons I didn't really like the fact that Zapier integration is only reserved for their higher plans. To me that is somewhat restrictive for those on the lower paid plan as the sooner automation is a part of one's workflow - the better! To reserve that only for the higher paid plans to me doesn't make much sense. Switched from [Proposify](https://www.capterra.com/p/133332/Proposify/) At the time, CName implementation on Better Proposals was easier to implement (at the lower paid plans) than on Proposify. I have recently moved most of my customer offerings over to BP as it enhances my brand. Pros It really makes my proposals and documents look so professional. It's clean, modern and is perfect for it's purpose. User friendly. Notifications on actions from customers are just so good. Cons I've worked around most of the things that BP can do better in. It looks amazing and their new PDF export feature is just sublime. Most clients like to print out a proposal to take it to a board meeting and it means that when they do, my proposal will look really good. Clean, easy to read and impressive. Cons I would like there to be more control over custom fields / merge tags in the templates. There are a few, like Company name etc, but it would be great to be able to do more with this and setup custom fields to use across all proposals. Pros The templates make it very easy to create beautiful proposals in a very short period of time. They look good on desktop as well as mobile. Owner often pushes out updates and also gives good tips on how to make proposals better based on data he gathers. Cons Design-Wise you don't have a huge amount of blocks at your disposal, but it is more than enough actually to not get lost in too much design and focus on the content of your proposal. I'm slowly creating templates for the resorts I sell and once those are done it takes me mere minutes to deliver a proposal. The analytics are incredibly helpful. I as unaware that early adopters could not trade their lifetime license. I made a post to sell mine and the CEO immediately messaged me and said you cannot do that and closed my account without any warning or discussion with me. I was not aware it was against the terms as it was not the current when i purchased the LTD. He was very rude and made me feel betrayed. I basically gave him my money and he took it and run; in essence, stealing my money and not giving me my account. If he simply would have made me aware of it and discussed it saying if you do your account will be closed, then I would have had no problem keeping my account and finding a use for it. Very bad way to do business and not ethical whatsoever! BEWARE. Pros Decent program, lots of good updates other than the ethics of the owner. Cons The customer support is terrible. Their chat said "be back tomorrow," however, they did get back to me within 5-minutes and solved my problem with grace and ease. So far, I'm happy and excited to use the product. I always present a Proposal via online video conference before sending it via email. Yesterday I presented my first Proposal and an hour later it was returned with the acceptance signature. Pros Love the fact that it's technologically up-to-date cloud-based software. The templates are easy to modify with the exception of the colors on the meta tags which have to be adjusted with HTML coding. Fix that and I'm a happy camper. Cons No color change option for the Headings without HTML knowledge. The backgrounds and text colors can be changed in all templates, so I'd like to see this available as well. Review Source Brett W.
