Absolute nightmare. First: "I am concerned about business confidentiality - I am afraid you will steal my data and use it against me." "Oh, \[sensitive content hidden\], everyone does that" Sic. (\[sensitive content hidden\] no idea about his surname.) Our sister practice signed up sooner and were told they could use the x-ray programs with dentaly. Absolute lie - they had to buy their software and could not use x-rays for days. Every time they need help, they are sent templates - but zero support with actual problems. I was told I needed a meeting (zoom) with God knows whom. It cannot be done other way. I asked repeatedly for written instructions and guidelines. My emails are not even acknowledged and was only sent - one generic template (about what tablet is supported - if my current one is one of them is not mentioned). My employer (the guy who signed the contract) has asked multiple times about the above x-ray software - and zero reaction. What can we expect after we give up our current software? I cannot sleep at night and from my colleague I gather they have no telephone assistance - "figure it out yourself". And I repeat - I haven't even seen the actual platform.

Pros

We haven't started using them so no idea what it does. I heard it was accessible from home (not sure why it would be important) and it wasn't horrible to use but haven't seen it yet.

Cons

Once they have the contract signed, they stop answering your emails. No training provided. Not even an ackowledgement of receipt of your emails. Zero support and they literally lie to your face.

Dentally used to be a decent and reliable system, but since the recent update, everything has gone downhill. The new layout is confusing, slower, and unnecessarily complicated. Tasks that used to take a few clicks now feel like a struggle to complete. It’s become much harder to navigate, and the overall user experience has definitely worsened. The update seems to have made things look “newer,” but in reality, it’s just made the software frustrating to use. I really hope they listen to feedback and bring back the simplicity that actually worked.

Pros

When Dentally worked before the update, it was easy to use, quick to navigate, and had a clean, simple layout that made daily tasks efficient. It was reliable for booking, charting, and patient management without constant frustration.

Cons

Since the recent update, everything feels messy and unnecessarily complicated. The interface is slower, harder to navigate, and many simple features are now buried or confusing to access. It’s made routine tasks more time-consuming and frustrating.

I truly regret moving from Core Practice to Dentally. Please contact me for a full review if you are considering Dentally for your practice.

Pros

We switch to Dentally because of its promised automation and smart features. However, the reality was a bit different from the promise. Our previous system (Core Practice) was superior in every aspect.

Cons

Despite what they say, automations are very basic. You can’t even use it for birthday reminders. The charting is clunky, way worse than the competition. Our training was subpar and the support in Australia is not great.

I hate dentally. I regret we bought it. I miss R4. I would not recommend this software. I have to find answers alone- no support!!

Pros

There is nothing I like about Dentally at the moment. I am the new user and I find it complicated, not accurate with the migration of the data from the previous system we had (R4) and chaotic (codes for pricing)- I spend 5h daily to tidy up codes- dentally is not very responsive and I cannot see changes I made immediately but after at least 24h- absolutely a nightmare!!

Cons

No immediate response from the system. Difficult to customise price codes. No support- I feel abandoned once we purchased the system. Online chat- not competent staff

I’ve had a great experience with dentally overall since switching from Oasis in 2023. No regrets at all - have been working with a great responsive team who are actively improving the software and listening to user feedback.

Pros

Great user friendly features such as in built messaging, task list for patient follow ups, lab tracking, automations for recalls and appointment reminders and more! There are also regular monthly updates and a great team supporting users with any issues.

Cons

Most initial problems with charting and invoicing have been sorted out with the new updates. Hicaps connectivity is a bit hit and miss though.

Our change to Dentally wasn't initiated by choice, however once we decided on Dentally it's been a seamless process. Having a dedicated consultant \[sensitive content hidden\] over the first 6 month Elevate Program has been invaluable

Pros

Dentally has an intuitive interface, allowing the clinician and support staff to quickly and easily learn the basic functions. Patient communication automation is industry leading.

Cons

I've not found much I don't like. Anything that "bug's" me is generally corrected in the very frequent changelog updates.

As the owner of Happy Dentistry, I’ve been using Dentally for a while now, and it has significantly streamlined how we manage our clinic. From appointment scheduling to patient records and billing, everything is centralized and user-friendly. One of the standout features is its cloud-based system, which allows me to access information securely from anywhere. This flexibility has been a game-changer, especially for managing multiple aspects of the clinic remotely when needed. The integration with other tools and systems is seamless, saving us time and reducing errors. The reporting tools are another highlight. They provide clear insights into clinic performance, helping us make data-driven decisions. Our team also appreciates the intuitive interface, which has shortened training times for new staff. We've been with Dentally since opening our practice and have really enjoyed the journey, particularly as the support team have been so engaged and receptive to improvements to enhance Dentally and improve the experience! Their advice and guidance in helping us grow our business has been invaluable and we are truly grateful to partner with them.

Pros

The team's engagement and responsiveness to suggestions for improvements to clinical and business management aspects are excellent.

Cons

We had a few pain points with account payment management and a few clinical aspects in charting/treatment planning that were inconvenient or inefficient - however we raised these with the Dentally team and are happy to say that solutions have already been implemented for most of these issues raised.

Bad, very bad, awful. Switched on promise of a dream of lots features sold short Full of bot walls to get to real staff and incompetence even when you do. If you have a business to run ans dont have 24 hours a day to chasw their incompetance avoid. Sales rep lied about features saying pt able to book treatment appointments online and various other stuff all lies. To accountability when i asked about those features to after sales support ans they say doesnt exist

Has alot of features and alot of great 'ideas' but thats where it all ends

No telephone number for support. Web support like talking to a bot. Paid a fortune for them to convert from another software, they didnt make recalls so diary went dead, didnt copy notes properly heck no idea what they did do. No support to get it fixed. The recall email they made me to send to patients had a placeholder for a logo rather than my actual logo and link on email to book went to a cannot be displayed random sandbox page. Incompetence doesnt end there, reported fault (painstaking process) after 3 weeks still notnl fixed so had to fix it myself. Bloody useless. Avoid

I use dentally daily and having worked around the quirks in the software , then generally works well. Been cloud based was a god-send during Covid allowing us to work from home with full access to pt’s records.

Cons

The recalls are unreliable unless everything is inputted perfectly Everytime . Reports are inconsistent. Moving treatment between appointments can be chaotic

The clinical charting is an absolute nightmare, nothing about it is simple or intuitive, as a busy NHS practitioner, its only the fact we are seeing a fraction of the number of patients compared to pre-Covid levels that even gives me any confidence I can get through the day using this system.

glad hat we made the change from R4. they need to listen to dentists though and address the clinical side of things. If they do - it's going to be mega. Feel that I cant recommend this to colleagues until the clinical side is slicker.

Pros

cloud based so super fast. really good back office reporting, good customer support from a young and developing company. cost effective cf other software based systems

Cons

really clunky clinical side of things. charting is unclear and takes longer than other systems, graphically poor charting. layopu could be improved to show char, treatment plan and notes - see R4 which does this really well. note writing needs care - no autosave on notes. takes more time in surgery to sort appointments - this is done by the dental nurse prior to sending through to reception on clipboard.

Pros

User friendly system. Good for large or small practices. non complicated.

Cons

There are multiple screens. A dragging technique would be helpful. Not as up to the times as some other software

The overall experience with dentally has been great as managing dental practise has become much easier and organised. There is no need to take back any work stress home as the software takes care of all appointments and follow-ups of weeks ahead as well. All the patient information including charting, radiographic images and oral photographs are collected securely.

Pros

The best part of this software is that the work of a dental practitioner apart from treating the patient can managed easily. There is no need to stress upon charting, appointment follow-ups, patient files, radiographic images etc as everything gets well organised. They offer free demo .

Cons

I liked everything about dentally and could not specifically pin point anything negative about the software.

We've been looking at dental practice management software for years. Al the usual favourites come up. Dentally is different - yes it does all the things you might expect it do but the great bit is it's SaaS (Software as a Service) - you get the latest version everywomen you use it and there's no additional charge. Customer service is second to none - the online guys are always there and you just post a question and start the dialogue and if need be share screens. Training is mandatory and that's where the customer service really kicks in. Need a new feature? Just propose it and if it makes sense to the dentally community there's a good chance it'll be included. It now works with Xero - the cloud based accounting software - you'll be happy your accountant will be happy. Dentally really takes advantage of SMS, email as well as the more traditional methods of CRM. It works in your web browser so no costly hardware to upgrade. If you've got imaging software then dentally will 'bridge' to these applications so you can see your patients x-rays and pictures right within dentally - there's no cost to the bridging software. Dentally works for private practice as well the NHS - edit is included. No more forms!
