That's the easiest platforms for the specific job. Pros The best thing about Slido is the polls and online q&a feature. The polls in Slido are so easy that I use that feature to hold polls in our team even when there is no meeting. The Q&A feature in Slido allows us to have interactive Q&A sessions with the audience because the audience can vote for the Questions such that they come up in the list and that allows us to reduce duplicate questions during large audience meetings. Cons The events in Slido can be scheduled only for a limited time. I usually restart ended events again and again to bypass that. It would be great if we can keep events for a more extended time. I couldn't find an option to do so. A speaker used it during a presentation years ago and I simply fell for it. I have been using it a few times a year since (hence my reluctance to go for the full version...I do not need it extensively). An amazing product , easy to set up and eaysi to us durin a live presentation , virtual or face to face. Pros This one is sooooo easy to learn! For me, and most importantly , for the participants! And versatile! Surveys, quizzes, word clouds... you name it, you've got it! Cons Limited options on the free version but hey... Some functions are more difficult to use on a cell phone that they are on a tablet or the desktop version. Nothing that would prevent me from using it on a cell phone, however. But one has to practice in advance as this could be a be disconforting in fron a a live audience. Cons Slido is located in Slovakia. In my case, my bank balked at using a business card for their products. I requested an invoice to see if I could pay that way: the only other solution was an overseas bank transfer, which appeared suspicious and unsafe. However, they unlocked the product anyway and billed me later for it - I had no idea that in requesting an invoice, I'd committed to use of the product and payment by bank transfer. This is the only software product I've ever known to give access to a product without payment first: I believed I was using the free version for that reason. I did not use the full functionality of Slido because I did not know I had it but was billed anyway. They've been relentlessly hounding me about this for weeks since then. Review Source LT Luke T. It supports simultaneous inputs of 300+ people (in our case), and no bugs appeared. It’s really an industry standard and can recommend it Pros It’s a perfect tool for having polls on live events as well as on online meetings and webinars. Their PowerPoint integration works seamlessly, which is of great value so that you don’t have to switch screens when ending presentation and switching to the poll. Slido is intuitive and easy to use, and shows live poll results in a great way. Collecting data and inputs is very easy and just scan the QR code, which opens live poll on their mobile web browser (no registration or app needed). Their Q&A tab also works nicely, allowing users to ask questions during and after the poll ended, which makes transition from poll to q&a part of the workshop seamless Cons I can’t say much about the cons, as the app is really good. It’s a nice way to make your presentation interactive. Due to the integration it doesn’t have glitches with switching platforms like some of the other survey extensions. The free version works great for most use cases. Cons The interface is very basic and doesn’t have many customization options as far as aesthetic. It begins meetings, quickly gathers data and shows analysis of the data in lifetime, which is nice because it quickly shows what is a general consensus of the feelings of the people in the meeting. When it was used for less serious topics and more about breaking the ice, it was also really fun to use as conversation starters. Because it could also be anonymous, it really allowed people in the meeting to express your thoughts. Pros What I like most about Slido was how it quickly brought together meetings with surveys and polls. With this feature, we were all able to see the data collected and analyze very quickly, and it became a start of specific conversation conversations. Especially if it was an open discussion forum, using Slido gave the meeting an opportunity to gather topics for discussion. Expert speech session/talk Pros Slido is a lightweight support tool to make your presentations more interactive with Q&A, polls and ideation. It works with any presentation software you use, such as Google Slides, MS PowerPoint or OSx Keynote. You are able to create a session in Slide securely and share the QR code/link with the participants. In the free version of Slido, your participants can add challenges, questions and ideas before or during the session. They are also able to participate in a limited number of polls. The question and answer sessions have gone much more smoothly since there's no need to get up, find a mic, or go to the front. They just keep flowing from the screen. Pros Sli.do literally invites persons attending conferences to ask questions from the comfort of their mobile device for speakers and presenters to answer. It returns an interactive element that has been long missing in big event sessions. It's ridiculously easy for attendees to get in and participate without having to download an app and just as easy to set up for a multimedia team. If you're not using Sli.do at your next conference then you're missing out on valuable opportunities for audience feedback. If you're worried about people posing inappropriate questions, there's moderation feature so you can control what questions go live. Cons The hardest part was for the multimedia team or presenter in controlling Sli.do and the other presentation content. They had to keep switching back and forth. November 19, 2020 5.0 Engaging my audience is always a challenge. Slido allows me to get participation without asking them to standup and speakout in a crowd. They become considerably more interested with where I am going with my discussions. Pros I started using slido 2 years ago. I do 3-4 conference talks each year. I have also tried many ways to better engage my audience and bring them into the talk. At that time I was required to use my smartphone to activate each poll of which I use 3 during the class. A couple of weeks ago I was setting it up to use again and this time I discovered the power point integration. When I set it u, which was pretty easy, I was able to use the ppt slides and when I got to a slide for the poll, it pops up automatically and immediately activates the desired poll. And this conference was virtual so I was able to use it sharing my screen on Zoom and people across the country participated in the 3 polls I had. Cons The clunkiness in moderating and managing user questions in the Question and answer area.
