Pros: it is very easy to use and fit for technical and as well non-technical person, can be integrated with google. For agile working environment it is a very good tool. in agile mode we can integrate this with JIRA tool and can link/integrate it to see the linked stories , epic and bugs. Confluence on the cloud is really easy to use. The cost is also really affordable for new businesses and start-ups and even personal projects

Cons: number of widgets are large , sometime editing or creating space in confluence looks challenging but it will also be solved hen you have more experienced got on this o more time spent on this. sometimes when i found there is a new widget to use. There are so many of them that I don't have time to go through them all to find out if it is worth getting! Atlassian should consider sending "recommender" notifications of tools that might fit our needs based on our usage pattern.

Pros: I like that it notifies anyone who may benifit from seeing text updates to each confluence post. This makes it easy to

Cons: I am not a fan of the advanced features, I know you can do alot more with this software and customise it quite a lot, however I find it quite difficult to work out how to customise the look and feel of the pages that I set up.

Overall: The benifits this software brings is knowledge sharing across all team members in the workplace.

Comments: Recommendations Definitely try it out. Make sure you do review the server requirements if you are going to host the application

Pros: Easy to use Best fit for technical & non-technical people Decently though UI Can integrate with Google i.e. you can perform single sign-on Can integrate with JIRA enabling to maintain User Stories & Task with up to date content Good tool for agile working model

Cons: Should have the intelligence to suggest widgets Cannot download entire folder structure created within confluence Felt that creating space within confluence could look challenging

Pros: We use Jira on a regular basis and so storing all the developers notes and documents on Confluence makes it easy to keep a record that everyone can access. Also great that it's linked to via the Jira dashboard so no need to log in and out. Also the wiki feature means anyone can edit and update easily.

Cons: Can be hard to navigate and search for articles and documents. Also from a UI point of view it's not particularly attractive to look at - very basic, but does the job I guess.

Pros: Basic integration into JIRA service desk is easy. Great integration with PDFs, word docs, videos, etc all right out of the box. You don't even need that software installed on your system to view it. As with all things related to Altissan, you can do a ton of things, but it comes with a trade off in a more complicated setup. But I think most people would just use the basic functionality. And as always, the free price for Non-profits is something you just can not beat.

Cons: The search function within confluence is not that great. The tagging system is helpful, but does not support multi word tags. You either need to TypeTheWordsTogether, or Use_Underlines_instead. Which isn't that bad, until you find out that searching based on tags is an exact match.

Pros: I like the integration Confluence has with it's sister product Jira. We are able to create great reports using macros that pull in live project data. We are also able to share a vast amount of documentation across all our teams.

Cons: We are using the Cloud version, so there are times new updates happen. We might need to spend more time figuring out the new features or GUI updates.

It also integrates with Jira, which can be handy.

Cons: While it's easy to use and create pages, they are just basic pages. Nothing fancy. That's probably by design, but it would be interesting to see some more advanced page elements. This wouldn't be to compete with a website builder, but text, links, and tables aren't everything.

Pros: What I liked most about Confluence is the ability to receive notification e-mails whenever changes are made to a page. The notification e-mail will show the exact changes that were made. Creating a table of contents is also easy as well. The software is also great at exporting pages and content into different formats such as PDF, HTML or MS Word. Great for collaborating with other team members. Search capabilities are decent and I haven't had issues with finding data.

Cons: Sometimes when inserting images, they get scaled down automatically. It would be great if there were extension APIs available so that content could easily be uploaded into Confluence.

Pros: It's a great place to store and document process/information that multiple employees may need to reference. We also use as a sharing tool request estimates and information from other departments. It's a one stop shop for collaborative between different teams, which is critical at my Agency.

Cons: Can be tricky at first to figure out how the pages are structured, I had a hard time finding my saved documents. But once I figured out the favorites feature I started to favorite documents I repeatedly reference and spaces I visit to make navigation easier.

Overall: Collaborative with all involved departments/teams, organization and documentation of estimates and processes, helpful to store and reference information as needed

Pros: I have used every single aspect of Confluence including their Jira, Bamboo, and Kanban boards. I must say that without this software, I will find it really difficult to get things done.
- I like how the code reviews and test issues are linked to the original issue
- The Kanban board provides a really great interface for following issue priority and resource allocation
- The Agile boards provide the best interface for following the Scrum process

Cons: - Sometime the Spints on agile boards can get messed up when any of the fields are tweaked
- There is no way to link issues right from 'Edit' page in Jira.

Pros: It's a good product, having all the documentation of a project, minutes of meetings and decision documents in one place with ease access for all makes the team's day-to-day life a lot easier. I not know any better product.

Cons: Although it does not know another better product that does not mean that the product is excellent. It fulfills the promise, but it has several problems, the ones that most disturb me are: - The performance is suffering, even the Cloud version presents constant slowness; - The strcture of documents is not so intuitive; - There is a lack of a powerful search of the documents;

Pros: I love the integration with JIRA, specifically that when referencing tickets, the ticket status updates dynamically in Confluence. Equal to that, I'm a huge fan of the versioning control and the ability to comment on documents both inline at the text level and also on the overall document. Great alerts system, too, whereby you can customize how frequently you want to get alerts... And also that when someone else has updated a shared document, your email alert shows you in highlighted form what just got changed. This is an essential document collaboration tool.

Cons: Hard to find a major flaw with Confluence. I imagine it would be the price point. It's only a valid tool if you're integrated with Jira, otherwise, google docs might suffice. As for price, the cost jump is monthly for up to 10 users... then for up to 15 users? Where do they get the amount monthly for 5 more users?

Overall: Amazing concurrency and document sharing tool for dev teams.

Pros: I love the functionality and the ease of use. There are many ways to use the spaces available - we have a common page set up for the company software structure that all teams contribute to. We also have individual sites for each project group. And then we can sue private spaces that can be locked down with permissions.

Cons: The formatting options are limited. Most of our users are use to word/excel etc. We would like to be able to use all the formatting that word/excel currently have. There are paid options but when on a short budget we are limited on the extra's.

Overall: Manageability, search availability and a better orginized space.

Pros: Wikis, like Confluence, are good for building hypertext to be used by internal staff or technical external users. The happier you are with a simple layout and more you're able to use the links to create systems of documentation, the better it is. We're using it in addition to store CV:s and use a custom CSS + PDF exporter to create high quality CVs. A unique use case that we're happy with.

Cons: Once you try to use it for document storage, a full fledged intranet or the like, you find yourself easily in a mess difficult to clean. Pick the right tool for the job and just because you have a wiki, doesn't mean it's the right tool for the job.

Pros: Confluence on the cloud is really easy to use. Non-technical people and technical people can easily figure it out. What I love about it is that it kinda of has a social media feel and but has all of the functionality to manage a Lean Agile project. The integration into the Google Suite of tools has brought some other key features like single sign on via Google Accounts which is kind of nice. Anything to battle security fatigue is a plus in my book. The cost is also really affordable for new businesses and start-ups and even personal projects. Why did I not use Confluence to plan my wedding?! Anyways,I digress..this is definitely one of my favorite collaboration tools out there and if you think you need to work together on a team doing MULTIPLE projects, Confluence is a must have.

Cons: I feel like every time I go in there, there is a new widget to use. There are so many of them that I don't have time to go through them all to find out if it is worth getting! Atlassian should consider sending "recommender" notifications of tools that might fit our needs based on our usage pattern. I'm not overly concerned about privacy here, but if there is a new widget that I don't know about I'd like at least a small tickler or notification to check it out.

Pros: This product is great for documentation and sharing information. I do a lot of training documentation and Confluence is a great place to store the information. Anyone in our company can easily access the information through a link.

Because it is online the information in the training materials is always up to date; we don't have to worry about someone having an outdated version of the document.

In addition, Confluence allows for screenshots to be easily added, which is awesome, and it automatically resizes them, which is amazing. You can also add grids (which isn't Confluence's strong suit but still a nice feature) and Table of Contents and many more features.

In addition, you do get to keep Revision History in Confluence so if you change something and need to reference an old version of the document you still can.

And, you can change the access different people have so some people can edit the document and others can only view, or some can't view at all.

Cons: The software was a little confusing to learn to use. Now that I know how to use it, it is easy, but we did have to have some training. While others are learning it they aren't using it much because it is kind of foreign to them but if we could get past adoption issues the software would be a great help to us.

Pros: It is easy to use. It is pretty easy to organize content. It is easy to customize content to fit your branding.

Cons: The user security needs improvement (have to restrict on a page by page basis). There is no find and replace. There is no grammar and spelling check. You have to pay for a lot of plugins that would improve the software. Not good analytics without setting it up yourself or paying. No good mechanisms for feedback from clients

Pros: This is one of the best collaboration tool I have ever used. It is having the customized dashboard with the rich features of document management coupled with the tracking tool like Jira on daily basis. I have been using it for different activities like project planning, project & team management, requirement gathering, scheduling, team collaboration which are accessible on both web and mobile making the work activities fun and focusing on other project specific activities leaving all other things to confluence.

Cons: As I have been using this for a couple of years, I did not find any so far except on a certain occasion, an error appears and landed out of login, but after that, i did not get any till date.

Comments: Confluence is one of the best applications to document Tribal Knowledge. We are in the process of standardizing our entire company one it. It's a must for companies that struggle with internal communication & transparency.

Pros: Versioning, collaborating is wonderful.

Cons: You cannot look at comments while editing a confluence page. I, honestly, cannot understand how this isn't a feature. I know for a fact that hundreds of Confluence users across hundreds of companies would use this. Now, I need to have two pages open, one in edit mode, and another out of edit mode so i can actually view, and resolve, comments. The only reason i can think of for why this isn't a feature is because the way Confluence is coded (the foundation) doesn't allow for this feature without significant code-changes. But I'm just spitballing at this point.

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure you need it first. If you're a smaller company, the cost may not be worth it.

Pros: Fairly easy for anyone to create a new page Love the built-in page templates Love the ability to add new templates Love the plugins Love the default pages (when creating a new space) that help you onboard and discover more features Really convenient "in-page comment" and "create a JIRA from selection" features Excellent integration (both ways) with JIRA Once you have mastered the left hand menu and configured your spaces properly, it's very convenient Much easier to configure and use than Sharepoint sites, doesn't require IT just to create a new space.

Cons: As any Atlassian tool, pricing is pretty steep when you move from 50 employees to 51 (price almost doubles!) Plug-ins can also add to your bill It's hard to make content "look good", it always looks like a programmer Wiki. I wish there were "skins" or templates instead of having to dive into the detailed configuration.

Pros: A fast and capable wiki that works on mobile

Cons: Self hosting requires in house technical knowledge and staff training will need consideration

Overall: We had the need for a central documentation source and found SharePoint to be lacking. Confluence was a good fit and works well on mobile for reading (which is how most use it where I work.) Authoring required staff who were unfamiliar with blogging or WordPress to be trained, especially those coming from a MS Office background. But those used to web publishing took to it fast. Comments: Our company used Confluence as an internal knowledge base, and it was very easy to set up the pages so they could be easily found. Our department made extensive use of the knowledge base, and aside from some loading issues on pages with too much data, it worked very well.

Comments: We generally use Confluence to help us document processes on our team, and it's been a huge help. It's easy to collaborate and while some features aren't always intuitive and searching leaves much to be desired, overall it's been a huge help we lean on quite a bit for communicating information. On a remote team where most people aren't in the same time zone, that's a necessity.

Comments: I cannot tell you how valuable versioning is. With each page update we can go back and find notes about why changes were made months ago and understand our thinking. This cuts down on the need for countless word documents just piling up in a folder.
Being able to share assets across the site and tie them into JIRA is great too.

The Confluence platform allows to easily upload a multitude of documents that can be organized in a variety of ways so you can keep all the important information you need in one place. As you make changes, you can have updates sent out to your team notifying them. Commenting features also allows you to tag team members so you can loop them into any conversation

Comments: I have been in to project management from last 5 years and to be very honest confluence has made my life very easy. It helps me to collaborate with my team and getting their wonderful ideas. Its feedback mechanism helps me to review the documents and finalise them as and when I receive them. Next big thing it has done to bring JIRA with in the same platform. Now I can switch between my JIRA tasks and my documentation task very easily. Its just wonderful experience.

Comments: In one sentence we can say, as like one man army.
You can create anything using a rich content editor located in your web browser. Whether you can write product requirements, files, project plan, meeting etc.
It's replacing shared network drives filled with word document and other text files.
Most important thing is it provide drag and drop facility to create the pictorial representation of a business flow and there is no any restrictions for the shared space over Internet.
We can share the meeting notes on confluence. It will notify you once time met.
Also, Hipchat is a good feature to discuss with group or a particular person without any outside interaction.

Pros: Great functionality, web-based KB & SOP's for our department.

Cons: Not any issues that I can think of.

Overall: We've been using Confluence for a few years. We recently (within the past year) "upped the ante" with Confluence and are using it on a daily basis. We use it for the knowledge base and standard operating procedures. We also use it for schedule tracking and team documentation. I am an end-user but we had a consultant come in last year and he taught us some advanced features and functionality. I've explored several new functions within Confluence and like how everything works together.

Recommendations to other buyers: The online documentation is very helpful & useful.

Confluence has been great as an online documentation repository.

Pros: The ease of use is top notch and it has very robust searching capabilities. I also love the history function so you can go back to earlier revisions of confluence pages.

Cons: The deletion of pages. I would like to be able to delete a page and all child pages in one shot. Small issue but it is the part I like least.

Overall: I have used confluence for nearly 6 years. It has been critical in allowing me to document the systems and procedures I use and to share that information with others.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would suggest that whoever uses it, utilizes restrictions on viewing and editing to prevent unauthorized viewing and/or editing.

Comments: Confluence has a great evolution since the beginning, but still fails short and usability and user experience. Sometimes is not so easy to find the best edit solution for a given task on Confluence. I expected more intuitive flow and interface, to not have "to think a lot" to figure out how to use it properly.

Pros: Easy to pick up

Cons: Can get funky when adding different items.

Overall: I recently got handed a confluence space to work on. It was pretty easy to get started. The anchor tags is funky I have to add an extra "#" in front. But overall it was easy to learn and they have help articles that are pretty helpful.

Comments: I have used confluence on regular projects, ranging in length from a couple of months to a couple of years. the full value did not really show itself until I started a project with a company that has a lot of people that are new to software development. The user requirements were all over the place, and in so many forms, but by having a central place, with a template to determine when done was done, it brought many conversations to a quick end and solved paralysis on the requirements gathering end.
