June 5, 2018 3.0 Despite the technical issues, CloudApp is a perfect solution for remote customer support - it's an easy way to use visuals to communicate important information to a customer. Pros CloudApp does just about everything I've wanted it to do - I rarely think of an additional feature without finding it already in the software. Cons I've had numerous issues with the software in the past - random crashes, skyrocketing RAM usage that slows my computer to a crawl. Most recently, GIFs have been killing my internet connection for about 2 minutes while they upload. A fresh computer with an SSD and newest gen i5 processor improved my experience significantly, but using an older machine may turn using CloudApp into a headache. Review Source Don S. With the Chrome app I can quickly take a screenshot of what I need in browser and the desktop app allows me to screen shot or create gifs in other apps. Sharing images and gifs is pretty easy and works well embedded in the CMSs that I use. Cons I haven't ran into any real negatives with the software. This does exactly what I wanted and more! I like being able to screen record and I can also annotate which helps me share information and get feedback. Cons I use this program a lot. The only things I don't like is the chrome extension. I choose to use the actual software rather than the extension because the extension doesn't have all of the features. Simple way to share your videos and screenshots with the ability to use custom links and branded URL. love the ability of make comments and get insights/reports on the videos and images Annotations are also a great feature to highlight something and make sure your massage is clear Cons I often find myself rebooting the app on my macbook pro computer because it crashes, so I have to use the web/browser version of cloudapp once that happens. I also use it to place screen recordings in knowledge base articles. Many times its much easier to show a user how to do something than it is to tell them. Pros The ability to record gifs as i am demonstrating a process on my screen with my local app Cons I have to set the recording bounds manually each time. Pros One of the things that I like the most about this tool is that it differs from others that have the same purpose, it provides a comfortable workspace or interface to capture screenshots, use a camera and make annotations. It is an ideal tool for when you do an office at home since sometimes you need to have some captures recorded and the best of all is that it also acts as a cloud and works with other cloud systems, which is doubly incredible. Really makes it super easy to share screenshot and even draw on them as well. CloudApp is saving me for so much extra work! Cons Some of the previous versions was a bit buggy... I've been using it to share examples from my screen on Whatsapp, Messenger and in emails - the change from my old versions of either dropbox links or heading off to the desktop screen on my Mac is a thing of the past. I love the annotate option, and the fact that it's so easy to do. I'm only just getting started with the video capture options so can't comment but it does the basics I've described so well. Cons The fact that the information about what it can do is a little difficult to find. It's a hugely feature rich product and all the things it can do is hidden away in a tiny square.
