### "A CRM that better fit our needs."

August 27, 2020

4.0

and their team has been exceptional in their customer service and getting back with answers to my questions.

Pros

's features were designed with non-profits in mind (versus business-based designs from competitors) that allow for easier organization of newsletter campaigns, volunteers, and interactions with contacts.

Cons

1.0 is rough around the edges in some aspects. For example, the e-blast editor is difficult to navigate on a laptop or smaller desktop screen as some text boxes or drop down menus get squished or pushed off screen, and pressing one wrong button could lead you to lose your work.

Reason for choosing Keela

Intended for non-profit organizations, user friendly interface, friendly and helpful staff, and we got a deal on transferring data from our old CRM to which was a huge bonus!

### "Keela is robust and user friendly!"

May 26, 2026

5.0

has allowed us to integrate our donor management with our accounting software to create a much more seamless financial management process. We love the robust tools that Keela offers us to track our donations, communicate with our donors, and pull custom reports for our Board and Executive team. We switched to Keela from Blackbaud and the experience has been so refreshing and at a much better price.

Pros

has a very user friendly interface and a robust set of donor management tools. We like that there is some AI integrated with the software to help us identify areas where we can improve.

Cons

Our experience so far has been great and we do not have any complaints. The entire team at that we have interacted with has been very helpful.

Switched from

[Blackbaud eTapestry](https://www.capterra.com/p/29170/eTapestry/)

We initially made the switch because we use Aplos for our accounting and Aplos bought and created an integration with Keela. However, once we had a demo of Keela, we knew that switching would not only integrate our softwares but it would also upgrade our donor management and fundraising capabilities.

### "Great Platform, Extremely Disappointing Support Experience"

June 2, 2026

1.0

Extremely disappointing experience with . After spending thousands of dollars, including additional import fees, and investing over two months into the migration process, we are still uncovering hundreds of missing donation records. As a non-profit organization, accurate donor data is absolutely critical, and the fact that major donor history was missing is incredibly concerning. What made the situation even worse was the lack of communication and accountability when these issues were raised. After escalating concerns involving missing data and discussing stepping away from the platform entirely, responses from our points of contact stopped altogether. We understand migrations can have challenges, but the combination of data integrity issues, long delays, poor communication, and ongoing costs made this an extremely frustrating experience. Unfortunately, this process left us with very little confidence in the platform moving forward.

Pros

The platform itself is incredibly well designed, modern, and easy to use. The interface is clean, intuitive, and much more user friendly than many other donor management systems we explored. Features are laid out in a way that makes day-to-day tasks simple to navigate, and the overall system appears to have a lot of potential for nonprofits looking for a streamlined CRM solution.

Cons

Unfortunately, the staff support and migration experience became the weakest part of the process. Communication was inconsistent, timelines were missed, and serious concerns regarding missing donor data were not handled with the urgency or accountability we expected after investing significant time and money into the transition.

### "Here for the long haul"

May 21, 2026

4.0

We've been really happy with . I've recommended it to countless other organizations over the years.

Pros

is a great CRM option for mid-sized non-profits. They have a great feedback mechanism and actually respond to suggestions. We've been with them for 8 years and it's amazing to see all the new features they've added. We find the email campaign tools are exactly what we need without subscribing to separate e-newletter software.

Cons

While I completely understand the reasoning behind it (not everyone wants or needs it), I wish you didn't have to pay extra for automation. More people would experiment with it and might learn how great of a tool it is, if it were available for everyone. That's the only con that I can come up with!

### "Accountant"

May 19, 2026

4.0

I mainly use the donation portion of so did not respond to the email marketing portion of Keela. Overall would like better customer response and help instead of referring me to the knowledge base section.

Pros

Importing data into . Easy to navigate. Reporting - Can produce several reports that are usefull. Many filters to use. Easy to setup ie campaigns impact area

Cons

Tax receipt - received many complaints about the length of our tax receipts for donors who donate monthly. Slow response to customer support. When inputting a manual donation you can not edit the data if you made a mistake. For example if I inputted the wrong date I can not change it when I did not issue a tax receipt. Tried to preform a donation summary report and the date produced was incorrect. Emailed customer service put have not received feedback

### "Keela is great!"

May 20, 2026

4.0

Very positive. Customer support is responsive and I really don't have any serious or substantive complaints.

Pros

Value for money is hard to beat. The reporting and analysis tools are what convinced me to switch over. Our organization has been a customer for a little over a year and they are constantly making improvements and upgrades.

Cons

There are some features/modifications that I wish would come a little sooner. The household function is pretty clunky for example and with a little bit of work it could make it much more useful. There are bigger modifications like the /Aplos integration that could use some work, but I can appreciate how difficult this integration is to do well.

### "Intuitive Use"

May 21, 2026

5.0

We are fairly new to the product, but it is working well at present. We still have much to explore on automations and all.

Pros

The ease of use is intuitive and simple. Customer support is responsive. Email campaigns are far more friendly to design with than our last product.

Cons

It would be wonderful to have a point-of-sale integration with QTego. We use this company for live events, as they run all ticketing before, during, and after the event. Right now we have to export and upload our results. As new customers, we are still in limboland about getting this done correctly. We also are exercising patience until the integreations with Aplos and Raisely are seamless under Velora. Clicking in and out of products is annoying, but we get it. There are worker bees behind the scenes trying to pull that to conclusion.

We thought tit was bulky and needed fund accounting. We did not know that our one-stop-shop with Aplos was undertaking a merger. That has really hurt our operations. Automations we took for granted became far more manual with hopping product to product and doing certain action by hand.

### "Easy to use CRM"

May 27, 2026

is an easy-to-use CRM and has been great overall. We got it for the grant tracker, and they have expanded its features, which is a plus!

Pros

The best CRM I've used in my 12+ years of nonprofit work. It's easy to create reports, send mass communications, develop forms, and track grants.

Cons

I can't add images to the mobile donation form; however, it's not that big of a deal. I submitted a request, and hopefully I will see that feature soon.

### "Great product!"

May 21, 2026

5.0

Pros

It's an easy to use platform that provides solid analytics and suggestions for future fundraising initiatives. The donation forms are pretty easy to set up and for donors to use. Customer support has been excellent, and it's pretty good value for the money.

Cons

### "Ease of Use/Clarity of Information"

November 18, 2024

5.0

Overall, I have had a very good experience with .

Pros

I appreciate that it is very easy to find information about individuals donors. The search function works the way I hope it should (put the name in and information pops up) and it isn't frustrating waiting for results. I also appreciate how I can quickly reach giving information for donors and see both recent and historical information without any trouble.

Cons

I would appreciate a app for my phone. I do a lot of donor visits and if I was able to look up information on my phone for a certain donor, that would be incredibly helpful. Also, streamlining reports creation would be helpful. As the leader of my org, I don't do a lot of report creation but when I must do it, it gets confusing very quickly. I am not sure how to make this better but it seems like it could be.

### "Great platform for non-profits to produce great fundraising results."

November 13, 2024

I have been able to provide amazing benefits to the organization and give program managers to material they need to garner donations and further communicate with those donors. It has completed changed our donation process.

Pros

Being able to house all of our donors and easily communicate with them. Having a place to create forms for revenue and donations within minutes and share it out to the public. Processing fee cover option for donors.

Cons

Not being able to add stock/ quantities to revenue forms. Also formatting images to forms so that it looks professional and parts of the image aren't cut off.

### "Keela rejects credit card payments for fund raising events/donations needed for operations, contacts messy"

June 15, 2024

1.0

Extremely poor, there is no way to get timely human help. The program is not intuitive, contacts can't be cleaned up easily if there are duplicates (name of contacts are connected with company, company has a separate listing, deceased contacts can't be deleted, etc). By the time someone at responds via messaging, our events are over and we've lost critical donors and contacts are frustrated. Bad for our brand of reliable legal service for the poor Looking again for better program like donor perfect maybe

Pros

Our \[sensitive content hidden\] liked the clean look of the interface, but beyond that, as the \[sensitive content hidden\], I have no pro and keeping the program is no sustainable because it glitches with credit card payments, usually in the clutch of a big fundraiser. I've had it with this program.

Cons

example: right now we're screwed by . It stopped taking credit card payments in the middle of our fundraiser event. Totally unreliable credit card acceptance, Fundraising events need reliable links for donors, forms need to work without frustrating donors by rejecting all credit card payments. Our own tests of credit cards doesn't work. The form will work for awhile, and then we lose critical time and labor with all the calls that the link won't accept credit card numbers and we have to manually take payments. Its unsustainable.

### "Keela "Thinks" Like We "Think""

November 10, 2020

5.0

I'm sorry that, when a person reads the "cons," it probably sounds like I'm "dissing" the software. But the truth is - it's the best we could find. And there's something else: They (the entire team) seem to have such a customer service orientation that they LISTEN! And they aren't afraid to admit that something needs to change. For example, see above when I mentioned the problem with state abbreviations. After I submitted the idea into the idea portal and copied the customer support email, they wrote me back a personal email and admitted that they should have caught this earlier. The fast-tracked the fix and -- I'm serious - they rolled out the fix within like... maybe three weeks max. (As fast as we would have wanted them to make a fix, test it, and releast it.) In fact, they've listened every time - and they've begun implementing changes based on sincere user feedback. Last week (I'm not making this up), they arranged a call with the \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] and the \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\]-- both on a Zoom call with the customer support specialist that they assigned to us. Their main purpose seemed singlefold: To listen. They never became defensive... not once. They basically said, "Make a list of your 'pain points,' and give ALL of them to us." No software vendor had EVER done that for me before (even though I've been equally forthright with ALL of them). The pricing is fair for what we get. Imagine - we sent out 9800 emails. did GREAT. There's so much more I could say. Love it.

Pros

's pricing structure was straightforward and fair. They didn't charge "by the user," like some vendors do. Yes, there's a sliding scale based on the range of contacts, but for our org, the scale seemed fair. We had tried numerous (I forget how many) products previously. I'm ashamed to admit we rarely stayed with one product longer than a year. DonorPerfect. CiviCRM. Salesforce. Blackbaud. Bloomerang. Salsa CRM/Engage. The list goes on. Not sure why - but when we found Keela (I'm not kidding), it was like finding "the one." For one thing, they didn't make me make an appointment with some sales rep that would do a 30-minute demo, then ask me if I had questions, even though I had already watched everything in her/his demo in dozens of YouTube reviews. (That's a crazy system, if you stop and think about it.) Keela let me open the account, set everything up, do my first imports, and start using the program all without having to wait on ANYONE in ANY time zone. (It's not that I'm anti-social. I just wanted to experiment with it on my OWN.) They advertised some outlandish increase we should expect in fundraising. I remember thinking, "Now how could they know that?" But I'm serious - from the day we first installed until the first email campaign, it was under 90 days. And our first email/printed mail campaign has just topped (you're going to think the company hired me to say this - but they didn't) $100,000 in income. Our typical email campaigns had been $10,000 or $12,000prior

Cons

I need a bigger box. (haha) I didn't like the way they seemed to want to hide certain fields from me - like, they were afraid it would make the software seem too complex. The reporting module seemed sooooo basic. I just wanted them to give me a "field picker" for every field and let me choose exactly which fields I wanted. Instead, someone in their product development team had apparently decided which fields that he or she thought were important enough to include in a report. What's so hard about giving us a dropdown box with choices -- ALL choices?! States and Canadian provinces were listed in a dropdown - but I had imported thousands of records with state abbreviations -- and, strangely, it wasn't an option to search for those. (?????) Again, it was like they were trying to make the program so friendly that they prevented us from graduating to more of a "power user" posture. The software was fast (I mean - we have 17,000 contacts and it seemingly always finds the desired contact within 1 second - seriously), but some of the clicks and steps between functions are dreadfully filled with twists and turns and dead ends. Too many clicks. They allow the user to manage importing - and they have documented it well - but I can't designate a "key field" that I want to use as the key. They have their own index - but it's hard to assign multiple keys. They DO keep an "external index" and they use it - but sometimes I'm not clear how to mesh the two.

Reason for choosing Keela

Primary: The customer service seemed above ALL. They LISTEN. It's almost like... if we're going to go to all the trouble to hitch our wagons to a star, may it be a star that has a forward vision. May it be a star that answers email!!! ( ALWAYS answers within a day... but LOTS of times (no joke) they answer within three hours. There's no phone support that I know about (if it's there, I don't know how to access it) but to be honest, I'd prefer to dash off an email and let them process it (address or answer something) then respond anyway. Honestly - can you tell that we love this software? We've now got two guys and all they do is call contacts. Every call is logged in Keela - and we can SEE all their action -- even though they live in other parts of the nation. Keela just WORKS. We've hired a programmer to write import code so that our accounting software will create an easy import file -- so that in one click, so to speak, we'll import in all of the transactions from the day before. Can't wait. IT's taken him two months - but will soon be done. Our accounting people don't want us messing with their records - so we can't use the accounting software for fundraising. But we CAN "read only" their information each night at midnight and import it INTO Keela. Can't wait. My advice, whatever you're using - whatever you're CONSIDERING - stop the presses and try Keela first. If it's not what you're seeking, then write the company. If they can make it happen, they will - soon.A++

Switched from

[Bonterra Network for Good](https://www.capterra.com/p/111128/Bonterra-Guided-Fundraising/)

Salsa CRM - which is a rebranding of a 1990s program called DonorPro (or something like that) is SOOOO laborious and slow. The interface is just downright painful. So rather than write something new, they tried to marry it to something new -- Salsa Engage. But the mismatch is so convoluted. And we complained about features that were downright GLITCHES that went for months and months and MONTHS without fixing. It was EXPENSIVE compared to what we get. And there was VERY little that helped us flourish. Zero way to bcc emails in to any kind of communication stream. Sad.

### "A reasanably good software, with usability downfalls "

December 15, 2020

2.0

It is positive, but definetely not ideal. The platform was sold to us as basic but powerful, in reality it is basic and need a lot of work, in some instances to get the basics correct (i.e. invoices, integration with payment gateways etc.). lacks a lot of key features we already provided feedback on. We do feel that Keela priority has been in functionalities that are tertiary and not a necessity (i.e. have details of transactions going to stripe description, invoices being more customisable, being able to edit recuring donor accounts without having to recreate them etc ). Those can be very frustrating and we had went backwards in our internal processes, specially with accounts, due to the platform lack of basic business customisation, things we had in our previous software.

Pros

is happy to listen to customers. They are quick to provide support and the platform offer the basics needed.

Cons

The basics are not well polished. Usability is a big issue and the navigation is clunky - we find ourselves going back and forwards a lot, some would be easily fixed with a simple "right click to open in new window" but that is not available. We end up using the export feature way more often than we should in order to get the data we need. We have provided a list of cons in the past.

Reason for choosing Keela

They never got back to us. The software seem to have more features we need and more complete, but their sales were terrible getting back to us so we assume, if the sales is bad imagine the support.

### "Keela streamlined us"

September 13, 2022

5.0

Overall our experience has been very positive, and I am happy to use for work every day.

Pros

Our intro to was fast and furious, but the customer service team made starting up very easy. The interface is user friendly, and everything is clearly labelled. We now have all of our contacts in Keela, and use the form feature to embed all of our forms onto our website. Keela forms look so much more professional than the Google forms we were using. Looking for info or data on Keela is quick and easy, and it's also simple to edit or change things as needed. It has made our paperwork load lighter, and for that we are grateful!

Cons

The only con I can think of is that you have to manually integrate duplicate contacts, but other than that it's a great service.

Its a solid CRM for nonprofits that want to organize donor data, fundraising, and communications in one platform without needing a super enterprise level system. I liked that it feels more nonprofit focused compared to general CRMs. There are definitely a few areas that could be improved, especially reporting flexibility and some integrations, but overall it does a good job for small to mid-sized organizations

Pros

It’s built specifically for nonprofits, so a lot of the features actually make sense for fundraising and donor management instead of feeling overly generic. The platform is pretty easy to learn compared to some larger CRMs, and I liked having donor tracking, email campaigns, and reporting all in one place. The automation tools also help save time with follow ups and donor communication. Customer support has also been pretty responsive from my experiance.

Cons

Some parts of the platform can feel limited or clunky, especially when customizing reports or email templates. There are also occasional integration limitations depending on the tools your organization already uses. A few workflows take longer than expected and the reporting setup can be confusing at first. Pricing can also increase as your contact list grows which may be difficult for smaller nonprofits

### "Great value, good tools"

May 26, 2026

5.0

Pros

Good donor management tool with great analytics about donors. Their smart tools are helpful for those with small fundraising teams that need guidance on how much to ask donors for.

Cons

There are improvements they can make to the flow of the tool, or make better integrations with their smart tools (eg, adding a smart ask field when crafting emails).

### "Recommending It to My Clients"

May 21, 2026

I am a consultant, so I don't use it myself but others who have, say it's great. I would recommend that you talk to people who are using it.

Pros

I like the fact that it integrates with other products and makes the development accounting process simple. I will recommend it to my clients.

Cons

Can't think of anything. Since I am a consultant, I don't use it myself, but those I know who use it don't seem to have any issues with it.

### "Keela, Powerful Integrations that Simplify Nonprofit Management"

November 15, 2024

4.0

Overall I am very impressed with as a hub for organizational information.

Pros

The platform brings together so many tools, which makes it super flexible and efficient for nonprofit management. It’s like having a Swiss army knife for organization, communication, and fundraising all in one place, without the need to jump between apps.

Cons

One downside I've found is with the Zapier integration—not all fields are available for mapping, which can be a bit limiting. It’s more of a personal use issue, but it would make a big difference for streamlining specific workflows if all fields were accessible for mapping.

### "Keela is a gem of a program for small Charities!"

September 15, 2022

5.0

In six months we have done from a dozen donors to over 200, are seeing some monthly donors now and have used to forward our stewardship processes. I highly recommend Keela as the donor management software of choice!

Pros

truly is an "intuitive program" that made integration to our systems easy, and increased our ability to not only recruit donors but to foster a more robust stewardship program. In addition, I can rad through the step by step processes and they make sense - even for a non techy person who is a little shy of technology!

Cons

has a ton of options so for me finding time to filter through to use the program to its maximum capacity is taking time. That said, the options are all there, the training, and the support.

Reason for choosing Keela

Best and most reasonably priced, unlimited emails, newsletter component (or communication tools), can use strip (which we already had in place), all features were accessible at any cost (so even for us small organizations), grows with the agency growth, based in Canada (huge influencer in our decision), possible crowdfunder feature.

### "Accessible and cost-effective CRM for non-profits"

September 12, 2022

5.0

This was our first online donation portal, and it worked perfectly. And having this combined with a CRM, to track all interactions and contact data, at an affordable price has been perfect.

Pros

The program is ready to deploy immediately for non-profits, and does not require an in-house IT team to deploy. The folks at have designed it specifically for non-profits and administrators can begin using immediately. Very user friendly, so also easy to onboard a team of users to begin using immediately. Combines CRM needs with fundraising functionality in one program. Ease of importing and exporting custom data sets is a huge bonus.

Cons

Linking companies to individual contacts is not intuitive at first, and can result in duplicate entries. However, they are easily merged.

November 6, 2023

is the best do-it-all CRM for any nonprofit!

Pros

has everything in one place for nonprofit contact/database/fundraising management. They also have the best customer service in the industry. One of the items that really sets them apart is their monthly webinars to help you learn more! They help you learn about their systems but also provide valuable industry content as well!

Cons

There are things that I wish did that it currently doesn't. However, Keela is very receptive to new ideas and takes customers' insights into consideration when upgrading things.
