Cons: Challenging to understand at first, but how-to videos are helpful. Too new to know any limiations.

Pros: - Customer Service and Tech Support are helpful, responsive, friendly, and have addressed my concerns as well as pointed me to resources and set up extra training to make sure I get the answers I am seeking! - I love the reports functionality! You can customize your own to get whatever info you need, or you can run some of the common ones the system has pre-formatted for you. Super easy and helpful. - Managing and avoiding duplicates is really well addressed in this system. Since switching to Neon, I've been able to quickly address our pre-existing duplicates and to greatly reduce the number of new duplicates being created.

Cons: - The interface can be clunky in certain places (especially editing forms/system letters), and sometimes this leads to a lot of tedious work to make something look the way I need it to. That said, Neon says they're currently working on a fix for this particular issue.

Comments: Lots of great add-on features if you are interested but basics is already and incredible deal. AND they count 'contacts' as people that you have a profile not (does not include email lists with just names and email addresses).

Pros: Can integrate lots of features seamlessly. Focuses on key metrics of donor engagement including retention.

Cons: A bit hard to figure out and navigate at first. Lots of fields to fill out but not maybe too much information. Importing is a bit tricky

Neon is an exciting upgrade for our non-profit!

Pros: Excited to save staff time and have ultimate automation and communication with members/donors. Allows flexibility and new opportunities to fundraise.

Cons: Data migration is tough and I am interested to see what old data looks like in Neon. Hoping it transitions well.

NeonCRM is one of the best systems to help any nonprofit grow their capacity and maximize their impact.

Comments: Neon is great. I love their staff and it is the best system out there that is affordable and cost-effective.

Pros: Neon is great! It has lots of features, it's easy to use, you can have unlimited users, and tons of functions the whole agency can use.

Cons: Neon is great and doesn't have many cons, however, the designs could look nicer. Although, I'm not sure if we could be able to maximize that since we have a small staff.

So far the process has been smooth and easy.

Pros: I like the clean layout of the pages and the multiple functionalities of the software. Reporting capabilities are also robust.

Cons: I wish it had a functioning RFM segmentation feature for fundraisers to use.

Pros: It's connected to our website and makes it easier to maintain our membership and update their profiles.

Cons: There is a bit of a learning curve when it comes to learning how to operation NeonCRM. You really need to sit down and play with the system to understand how to use it.

Comments: It is somewhat cumbersome to export our database into NeonCRM, but this is not NeonCRM fault, more so with our database software

Pros: The program is very easy to use and is very comprehensive for what we will use it for. Should save us a great deal of time and energy and expense with interpreting the data as well as managing mass mailings

Comments: Excited to see how Neon can help us begin our nonprofit's growth journey!

Pros: Neon's system seems to be able to do everything we could want and more. I appreciate that as a nonprofit we are free to select our own payment processor. Neon has been great getting us started.

Cons: The setup process left me hopeful that this won't be a big issue, but I was concerned initially that we would not get any customer support without having to pay a lot of money.

Pros: Cheaper than any other option I looked at, great support (already!), easy to use system, ability to have households, build reports, and create custom forms

Cons: The only con is having to manually put each transaction with a person instead of it automatically matching after the first transaction.

Comments: I worked with one of the customer rep and he was a pleasure to work with. Our purchase timeline was painfully slow (on our end) and he never lost patience or was pushy. He listened to what we needed and didn't try to sell us more than that.

Pros: The integrative system allows for streamlining data from 6 sources into 1. When updating the info, it allows for less mistakes since the data only needs to be corrected in one place. The data options are endless. The data is presented cleanly and entering is fairly intuitive. I think this system is easier to use than the one we replaced (and used for 4 years so I was familiar with it). The packages are easy to compare and have useful additions (for some people), but are not required.

Cons: We didn't switch over soon enough. The thought of no phone and chat support is intimidating when first switching systems. After a month or so, I wouldn't think about it.

Comments: Our office was unanimous in wanting to go with NEON over four other products we extensively reviewed!

Pros: From the moment we started working with NEON it was clear that they stood above the other products in usability and customer service.

Cons: There are a few functions we would like to be a bit cleaner or easier to use but I'm assuming that will come over time as they continue to improve the product!

Comments: Switching to Neon was a huge improvement from our previous CRM. Members and employees alike are loving it.

Pros: Tons of options to customize, great solutions-based customer service, easy to keep organized and "clean."

Cons: Almost too many options! Can be confusing to find what I need at times, but customer service is always there to help.

Comments: This is well worth the price.

Pros: This product seems to have the features that small- to mid-sized nonprofits need. It is well-designed. The help is really well-written and it is easy to find what you want. The video training is also very good and a fantastic way to start. It is worth the time even if you think you know everything already.

NeonCRM is overall easy to use and have been a huge help for growing the fundraising and programmatic missions of my small non-profit.

Comments: Overall good experience, and the staff has always been kind, helpful, and responsive.

Pros: I love the membership and event management systems, and how easy it is to integrate with MailChimp. The price point is great for my small nonprofit.

Cons: I do not like the forms, even when customized. The buttons, fields, and fonts seem outdated. Also, creating custom forms is difficult. You have to switch back and forth between the Forms & Pages Section and the System Setting section, and as a non-tech guy at my small and scrappy non profit, I constantly forget where everything is and how to change things. The system should be designed for the "lay" user, especially for a database that is accessible to small non profits, who most likely don't have the money to hire a full time tech or database manager, but divide responsibilities between the ED, fundraising, and program staff.

Comments: Definitely a product I recommend!

Pros: Automated membership reminder flexibility and the ability to send newsletters from within the product.

Comments: I would recommend Neon CRM provided the company understands the time investment necessary to make this program worth the money.

Pros: Neon CRM has a lot of benefits to offer. There are unique features that help increase donations and communications within the organization.

Cons: Managing this system is almost a full time job. The data upload process was complex to say the least and unless payments are processed through Neon, the continued data entry can be quite tedious.

Pros: Lots of features available. Customer service is pretty good. I love their guides, help center and the training and webinars that they provide.

Cons: It is difficult to use if you have never used a CRM system before. There is definitely a learning curve. I think it is bulky and not very "pretty" as far as the looks of it once published on your site or as the link.

Pros: Easy to use. Amazing customer service that is quick to respond. They have a web portal you can submit a problem through and they respond or fix it immediately.

Does a great job managing members.

Cons: Data collected from forms is near impossible to work with and you can't share it with your team. It is not collected in an easy to view format, rather a spreadsheet that includes ALL account data for the person responding the the survey. Each time you want to look at the results you have to download a new report and reformat.

There is no way to limit an event to paid members. You must offer a "default" ticket that anyone can purchase.

Website user have to login each time they go to an area of your website that is for members only. Neon sells a custom plugin called Single Sign-On to correct this problem for an additional money. Without it, users get stuck in a cycle of logging in and not redirected to the page they were trying to access. Every time you log in you is taken to a member dashboard instead.

A powerful system (perhaps more powerful than most small organizations need)

Comments: Overall, a great system which I'm glad we found. We tried a few others to manage our 3 levels of membership, and none of them lived up to the sales pitch. NeonCRM has so far.

Pros: It can do a lot in terms of membership: Allow new members to join, current and expired members to renew, membership discounts, etc. It's quite affordable, too, and the customer support seems solid so far.

Cons: Running reports can be difficult because there are so many possible data fields that a member can have. I've had considerable difficulty, for example, finding members who signed up--who didn't renew and weren't past members--between certain dates. It's probably just one or two fields in the report that I haven't included, but it's quite frustrating. And though the online help center has a lot of content, I've had to contact support several times because I couldn't find what I was looking for online. We set up our system in about a week and a half--significantly faster than the recommended timeframe. I have considerable experience with CRMs, and most small organizations would likely have substantial difficulty setting this up themselves. Most organizations will likely want to work closely with Neon to launch their system to its fullest potential.

Pros: Great support getting into the system. I am still new to the system, and being the point person to bring this new system to my organization, I appreciate how intuitive it is to learn my way through the Neon way.

Cons: What I don't know how to do yet! I am finding the training videos are super when I take the time to use them. I still am finding that I need more details, and that I have to own training everyone in my organization to fully utilize Neon's features here. I am going to opt for the monthly on-screen training so that I can engage my team in the system. I suggest that Neon consider building an 8 hour team training component into the annual contract.

Neon has made my life so much easier.

Pros: Neon is cost effective and it has many different modules (volunteerism, fundraising, online store, program registration)

Cons: Neon is a Jack of All Trades- but it is also a master of none. The platform can be glitchy and users can struggle to do basic things which should be more intuitive. It's not user friendly.

Neon has been a key to streamlining our membership services.

Comments: This service is priced so low that it is doable by us (200 member organization) and this is even more true when combined with World Pay.

Pros: Neon provides excellent member data in a detailed and usable format. We have benefited often from easy data retrieval. Also, initial learning was extremely helpful.

Cons: The report writing takes a bit of a learning curve with respect to defining parameters. Also, we have found that editing system emails is a little awkward.

Neon CRM has totally advanced our donors' ability to donate online on their own and maintain their own account as well as automate their recurring donations.

Pros: Since it is stored in the "cloud", it's "back office" is easily accessible by our staff from anywhere.

Cons: The donation process does not allow for a description or memo of each split of the total donation. Also, navigating around Neon CRM is not straight forward.

Pros: Very easy to use compared to CRM's that are not built for nonprofits. So nice to have the reports and features we need right there on the front page. Great training videos and good customer support.

Cons: Takes some time to set up for your organization. Almost a year in, there are still features we haven't had time to fully set up and take advantage of.

Comments: Overall, this seems like a solid CRM choice for nonprofits. Our organization is small, so we went with the most basic package, but we look forward to eventually upgrading to a more robust package as our budget and donor management needs grow.

Pros: Customizable giving pages, clean design, a lot of good features for a growing nonprofit, good integration with other software

Cons: Customer support is an additional cost, entry level package only allows 1,000 constituent records, must sign a 1 year contract

Comments: I highly recommend using NeonCRM to anyone that is looking for a new CRM system!

Pros: I love that any time I run into an issue, customer support is readily available and it is so easy to type into a search engine and get the answer. The video tutorials are easy to understand and follow. Neon has really taken our organization to another level.

Cons: The only criticism I have is that there are so many functions and ways to integrate with other systems (Survey monkey, QuickBooks, etc) that it can be a little overwhelming at times administrating the whole thing.

Comments: I have actually used Neon CRM in two very different nonprofits. One was previously using eTapestry and we switched because of the greater flexibility offered by Neon. That organization received much of its funding from individuals and was focused on one main program. The second was a transportation think tank that had no previous CRM system and received much of its funding through memberships. In both cases, I have found the system to work well and meet the needs of two very different organizations.

Pros: The interface is easy to use, very similar to comparable CRM systems in terms of flexibility and customization, but built for fundraising. The customization, in particular, is easy to understand and flexible enough to work for a variety of applications in a variety of nonprofits. I like the automation features as well, such as with donation appreciation and membership renewal reminders.

Cons: The single log on functionality and link with Wordpress needs to be further developed, I think. Sometimes the integrations with other systems, like MailChimp, are not as robust as I would like.

Comments: This is a great product for nonprofit organizations that are switching database companies and trying to streamline their donor information.

Comments: Overall, this is a great product and our organization has even grabbed the attention of our partners and they are looking at converting over to NEON themselves.

Comments: I love the app but wished it was a little more robust. I would like to be able to see my notes on my phone as well as the contact information but in general this has been a game changer in my office!

Pros: I love having all our data in one place! Also having an app that allows me to get contact information after hours is extremely helpful as well.

Cons: This product is more geared towards fundraising tracking and working with individuals. I am recruiting and have been able to adapt most of neon to fit my needs but wished there was a way to put people into teams a little easier to manipulate. I can do reports to get teams of information so that is my work around.

Pros: A good price for the software. There are many features and compared to other software, you definitely get a lot for your money.

Comments: I've probably used five different CRMs now in various capacities and have found NEON to always rise above the others. I think people find it hard to transition to a better CRM because they have to learn everything over again but the move to NEON was always well worth it after we got it all set up and running.

Pros: It is intuitive and easy to get around. Love the knowledge base as it answers most every question with easy to read and understand instructions. Gives me the steering wheel for reports. Can pull up data in all sorts of ways. Love that it allows me lots of custom fields for unique nuances. Can't say enough good things.

Cons: I do find the template, email, letter writing tools limiting. I'd love to use various fonts and color yet it doesn't offer me much for creativity.

Pros: It makes searching and pulling reports somewhat simple so that I, a somewhat technologically inept individual, and my board members can pull reports when our Development Coordinator in unavailable. The dashboards are simple and clear. It makes looking at an individuals history easy and help to show relevancy between recents attendance and donations. And they provide VERY HELPFUL webinars!

Cons: It is very time consuming and tedious to watch all the training videos and very expensive to get training. For an organization as small as ours with our low budget that can make it difficult to use NeonCRM to it's fullest potential

Comments: I'm receiving many compliments from alumni about the system. I'm receiving new donations through the online event forms that incorporate an opportunity to donate when purchasing a ticket.

Pros: Fundraising tools, multiple membership levels, membership directory with photos, event management, e-communication tools , templates, reports, volunteer and committee tracking, system emails, system letters, forms, surveys, multiple payment gateways, campaigns, integrates with QuickBooks, MailChimp, and more!

Cons: Takes a while to learn how it works to take fully advantage of all of the features. Membership Directory needs a facelift. Selecting addresses for printing labels is tricky.

Comments: Overall we would not hesitate to recommend the NeonCRM software package to any non-profit organization. Neon is available online from anywhere and is extremely reliable. Neon has partnered with other software solutions like QuickBooks, EventBrite and Survey Monkey. The package is reasonably priced and customer service is top-notch.

Pros: Full package offers all the options we need to organize and run our non-profit arts and education center. We need events for our performances and classes, donations are the core of our existence, the membership model is adaptable to our pass holders and we can track custom data about our patrons. The reporting feature is robust and works with Excel and Word. Neon integrates with our website and merchant account seamlessly.

Cons: It's hard to come up with many cons but the built in calendar needs upgrading to a more modern look. Some of the account fields are not available on all reports and past events need to be archived individually rather than in a bulk procedure.

Comments: Since we adopted Neon this Spring, our organization's approach to data collection and historical information has completely revolutionized. Now, we do not have to reinvent the wheel every year. I am responsible the maintenance of the account and report creation and I could not be more pleased.

Pros: I love that Neon allows for a great deal of customization in the account fields. As an organization, we have lots of specific information that we are tracking and Neon allows for this to easily be drawn into reports. Customer service is incredibly responsive and helpful. Each new update is a pleasant surprise because I have found that they significantly increase the usability of the program. The relationship function allows us to track the connections that are so crucial to our development process. The event-building page was exactly what we needed and allowed us to build out a 500-person luncheon.

Cons: Neon does not allow us to draw reports focused on the relationships between our constituents which would be very useful. Neon does not have a great selection of newsletter or email templates. Additionally, we have found that emails from Neon consistently go to spam. I wish that it was possible to transfer information from custom surveys to account custom fields. Same with event information.

Pros: While researching a new CRM for our organization, we liked that NeonCRM included features like Quickbooks integration, MailChimp integration, custom forms etc.

Cons: They really don't do well to inform you how little is available at the entry price. Every integration they showcase and even the ability to create custom forms comes with an additional monthly fee which also increases when your contacts increase beyond your current pricing tier. Our biggest issue is that PayPal discounts are not recorded, so when you push your donation transactions over to Quickbooks, you have to manually edit all of those sales receipts to include the discount from PayPal. Also, any recurring monthly donors in PayPal will have to give their credit card information again in the new Neon process which could run the risk of losing donors. Overall it has not delivered up to our expectations and for a smaller organization, it would be very costly to have all the features. Customer service comes at a fee and that is not even available until after you purchase the setup call and until you've been a customer for at least six months. Meanwhile, the online support largely results in waiting for hours and then them referring you to a guide you've likely already read. Massively frustrated with this system and it has taken us forever to get it up and running, which has proven to be a waste of time anyway because it can't do what we'd like it to, or at least not without an additional fee.

We did not have the funds to have NeonCRM import our constituents for us, so we are adding them manually. It would have been nice to have someone walk us through the best way to set up our database, but we completely understand why that's an additional cost. There is a learning curve (of course), but we get it figured out soon enough!

On the other hand, the software is very versatile and allows for a high level of functionality for a pretty reasonable price.

Pros: The functionality is pretty straightforward in NeonCRM. We are able to figure out pretty quickly how to accomplish what we need to do.

Cons: Some menu trees are not as intuitive as they ought to be. The Fundraising menu, for instance, does not make it easy to figure out how to create acknowledgement letters to donors. This is a very basic function that most not-for-profits are likely to need.

That seems like it should be a basic function of the self-import feature, but in reality, you're probably just not letting users do this so that we have to pay you to import our data. The system administrator needs to be very comfortable with computers and feel comfortable with teaching themselves how to use it and figure out any issues or solutions. The configurations, customization and importing of previous data can be difficult for someone that isn't comfortable with new software, or someone who doesn't take time to read all the instructions. The Neon CRM is working perfectly for us. One of the free webinars on QuickBooks actually helped us figure out how to more efficiently and effectively use QuickBooks. Our members love being able to log into the system and update their profiles and see their membership history.

Pros: Online database is secure; database and the application are organized in ways that make sense for how non-profits operate (fundraising, donations, membership); flexibility in features; customization available; statistics and reports that are available; customer service is knowledgeable and responsive; automation of many processes that were previously done manually in spreadsheets and word documents.

Cons: The ONLY thing that I wish Neon offered is a feature for the app. We have monthly events, and I would love to have our members sign themselves in on two different iPads using the app, and have it automatically synced with each other online. To be fair, this is a feature that very few companies offer, since the automatic syncing is difficult to develop.

Comments: The training and follow up are a particular strength of NeonCRM. I appreciate the training videos that may be watched at any time.

Pros: We were particularly drawn to NeonCRM because of its integration with the website product that they also offer. It is great for a donor to be able to make a contribution on our website and have it automatically be added to our database. I also really like how you can create reports and save them for future use. So far, this new system has been very time saving. The training and customer service have been stellar.

Cons: The one thing I have struggled with a little is searching their online resources for answers to questions. We are also still relatively new to the software and I have not yet had a chance to use every feature we will use so I am not sure if it will work as expected though I anticipate it will.

Neon sales team were excellent. The were able to provide me with an affordable solution for managing our organization.

Comments: I would really recommend using the Idealware report to compare platforms. Each organization has different needs and requirements for their data. The Idealware report compiles information from a lot of different vendors. I would also recommend doing the free trial before purchasing to see if it is a good fit.

Pros: After looking at many platforms (DonorPerfect, Little Green Light, Salesforce), NeonCRM seemed to be the one that worked best for our needs. We really liked the different integrations and the interface was intuitive for staff

Cons: The customizations seemed a little complicated and will require a lot of time to set up. Other platforms had more information about the donor all in one place, as opposed to scrolling through many sections.

Pros: We use Neon for everything! Forms, donations, events, emails, etc. It's not absolutely perfect for any one thing, but it's really great at all those things. For the value and the comprehensiveness, I'd recommend it highly! Plus, the customer service and help center are incredible!! So many resources and extremely quick replies. Very easy to work with.

Cons: Even if there isn't a capability for something I want to do one day, I love that Neon is constantly updating with new features. I know that I can request it and (with enough other people wanting the same thing), they'll be responsive and development solutions. So any cons aren't cons for long.

Comments: Salesforce was made for for profit sales. It has a whole jargon to learn to understand the fields. To make it work with your needs you need to hire a consultant to help develop bolted on adaptations that will integrate with Salesforce. In other words so called free Salesforce aint really free. Neon is turnkey, by comparison. After comparing the cost of adapting salesforce Neon actually allows nonprofits to save money.

Pros: The Neon CRM and it's cousin online engagement software offer seamless interface and integration with tracking and reporting Neon features include peer to peer module Neon is beautiful to look at and easy to learn and work with

Cons: The price of data migration can be high The sales process was not great. Not all the info I needed so I had to keep going back and forth Neon does not talk to Click n Pledge but does integrate with many other payment processors

Comments: After 2 nightmarish contracts with two separate inward-/outward-facing database platforms, this was a breath of fresh air. It works right off the rip, the training videos are actually helpful, if you can get through them, and there was no pressure from sales; no contract. They know what they're good at and integrate other systems for things that have better, more specialized products like, Eventbrite, Quickbooks and Mailchimp, and consolidates the data. The whole team can actually use it rather than feeling like data-entry drones.

Pros: The integrations with Eventbrite and Mailchimp allow us to use the best of everything without having to manage lists in every direction or hiring an IT guru. We talked through our existing (and very messy) data with a data rep from the platform. She talked us through how we needed to clean and modify it for this particular system, including recommendations based her knowledge of the different form fields and feature, and then we uploaded it based on the mapping she set up, and were able to easily modify once we had everything ready to go live

Cons: It's not as flashy or designed as well as some others, but it works! The only other issue would be if we wanted to connect organization accounts and contact accounts in the upload. We could have asked for a custom import, or manually connected the accounts, but since the system search includes scanning the org field, we can search for one org and all the contacts who have it listed as their company pop up anyway, which is all we need!

We have loved working with Neon!

Pros: It is a very user-friendly system, and I am impressed with their level of online help resources when I have questions.

Cons: I am struggling with the creation of multiple accounts by constituents with each event versus their membership account versus other engagement with the society. I have tried to merge the various accounts, but I don't seem to be doing it correctly and feel a little frustrated. I am certain it is my fault it is not working smoothly, but do feel a little frustrated by the situation.

Pros: Neon CRM is easier to navigate and search than many other donor management softwares that I have used. I also like the customizing features in the reports. Donation entries are also simple and make it easy for me to work with volunteers for data entry.

Cons: I do wish support was a little easier to access. Additionally, although many reports are customizable, there are some limitations when it comes to using households that can be challenging when trying to run good clean mailing lists. However, every database has its quirks.

Comments: Excited to join the community of users and have this software be part of our year two experience!!

Pros: All the functionality we need and were looking for. GREAT customer service and partnership with our sales representative. He has been patient beyond belief and has answered all our questions and really helped us make the decision to go with NeonCRM. I have already recommended Neon to another local nonprofit.

Cons: Nothing so far. Wish that we could process membership dues on a monthly basis, but suspect there is a way that we just haven't learned yet!

Pros: The UI is much easier to navigate than other CRM systems we've used in the past. Customer service is very responsive.

Cons: Integrations are somewhat limiting. Internal email lists aren't as advanced as we would like (only first, last, email - no other identifiers unless you want to make the email contact an account, which will end up costing you more if you go over your account limit based on plan pricing).

Pros: All the options and functions that are bundled together. While we probably won't use all the features out of the gate, its great that they are available. It also integrates with all the products we were already using which made it seem like a perfect fit (Mailchimp, Quickbooks, Eventbrite).

Cons: I'm a little unsure exactly how we are going to customize everything to fit our needs but am confident the consulting and implementation team will be able to help us get this figured out.

Pros: Lots of functionality, great for the long run because we can continue to expand. We haven't even scratched the surface of its capabilities yet.

Cons: Certain features are hard to figure out, particularly the integration with other software. Visually it is hard to scroll through all the attributes of a record. Perhaps another way to organize it on screen would be more user friendly. A little more support with tutorials or with a rep would be helpful to implement some of the features that I am interested in.

Comments: I LOVE Neon and have had the best experience. We were using a desktop based CRM previously and Neon has made my job and life so much easier!

Pros: I love the ease of use. The reports that I can create. The conditions for emails and letters. The dashboard shows great information.

Cons: I wish that I could edit individual letters and emails especially for donation acknowledgments. Certain functions are a little too well hidden.
