Pros: I like how easy it is to keep all of my tasks, documents, and conversations in one place so I can manage the projects that I'm working on.

Cons: I don't like that there isn't an undo button in the program. Sometimes I make a change on accident, but I can't easily undo my mistake.

Pros: I love the interface of this platform and the collaboration abilities it provides for me and my coworkers. It streamlines our workflow and processes and helps us stay organized throughout the many types of projects we have going on simultaneously. We couldn't do much without it!

Cons: There is an opportunity to make file sharing a tad easier, but overall this is not an issue. It would be nice to have the option to customize your interface as well!

Like any similar tool, it can only deliver if you put in the effort

Pros: It is actually quite a comprehensive tool for project management. It has enough features to support the very varied needs of a 100-strong department and those with whom we directly interact on projects.

Cons: It doesn't take much to break an elaborate project workflow. If a project contains many interdependent tasks, it can fall down due to (lack of) human intervention. It's best to ensure there are clearly understood guidelines for users on how they are expected to use the system, otherwise it can create more confusion than necessary.

Overall: It does help some team members to be more efficient, giving them an easy-to-use task list for daily use. But it does not lend itself to everything our department needs to solve for.

I have tried many solutions during my career and nothing has been as easy to use and implement as Workfront. Reporting and dashboarding have traditionally been very difficult to support but they are simple in Workfront. Workfront has made my job much easi

Comments: For project management, Workfront is by far the best solution that I've ever seen. Workfront has allowed us to streamline our methodology and processes. We've consolidated tools, improved collaboration and our project scoring process has never been better.

Pros: Very flexible. robust reporting and workflow is on the table. Approvals also were easily supported

Cons: No versioning on attachments
No ability to tag groups on tickets and sub-thread comments. It was an impossibility to grow this to scale if every user has to be tagged everytime
Not feeling the "Agile" button. With heavy customizations this may be possible, but out of the box backlog management to board maintenance is nearly impossible

Overall: As an archive system of record this is a usable solution, but is not ready to compete with more robust Agile management systems like JIRA or Rally

Clunky and dated, but feature-filled.

Comments: I think the functionality is excellent but find that when you're having a hard time using something, functionality is rendered a moot point. This could be fixed with future updates, but as it stands I don't think I would comfortably recommend onboarding teams with it.

Pros: When it comes to managing projects, Workfront (formerly ProofHQ) has what you need. Versioning, history, direct comments, and comparison views are really helpful, especially for creative projects.

Cons: Built on Adobe's Flash platform, I find it runs incredibly poorly with modern browsers. Not easy to use at all times and especially not for everyone in a team. Though it might work great for some, chances are everyone's got different machines with different levels of power and functionality.

Pros: Keeps our team organized around numerous creative tasks. The notification system works well and ensures the team is notified when changes are made to tasks. Ability to upload documents, proof and make comments are all very helpful.

Cons: The tool can be a bit clunky or overwhelming at times. It is hard to add others as approvers to jobs. Our creative teams feels overloaded with multiple notifications.

Comments: The support is unparalleled. Our technical, sales, Customer care team was awesome. I would say I had to use them too much, but they were great every time. Can't commend them enough for the efforts to help us. I'd say a large piece of why we stayed with WF was because of their support team. It's almost like having so many options within the tool became counter-productive. If it maintained a more unique personality, and did more consulting to help clients adjust their processes to the tool, somewhat, I think there would have been more of a win for us. Our processes were fairly simple and we got all caught up in the bells and whistles of the tool. It could very well be that the tool wasn't right for us; I didn't have any say in the decision-making process.

Pros: The Ease of building reports; Getting the data out of the tool is really easy. The ability to format reports the way you want to see the data is very useful too. The UI is very easy to navigate, and easy on the eyes - not so busy and crowded on any one page, which I appreciate.

Cons: Way too complex, too many moving parts, too many hard-coded definitions for tasks, groups, teams, roles, etc. The backend of WF is exhausting. I, more or less, had 2 admins that had to manage the tool for the company. I don't take off TOO much for this, as the company was very lazy in using the tool. However, part of that laziness was because of the complexity of doing simple tasks within the tool.

Overall very good project & portfolio management software but missing some standard functions.

Pros: The software is easy to understand and use for project management. You can create schedule templates with a basic set of tasks and milestones which is a timesaver.

Cons: Very confusing process for resource capacity planning; mediocre customer service after implementation.

Overall: It has helped me be more organized and has saved valuable time. I no longer need to create weekly status reports since we have realtime reports built into Workfront.

I'm a new user but it seems to do everything I need it to do and its very easy to navigate

Pros: Ease of use and its visual format are the best. We have tried several other production to accomplish the tasks that Workfront does rather easily. The training and customer service are very good. Even if you are not very experienced at using this kind of software, you will be by the end of the training classes

Overall: Very easy to track a project with many tasks, where many individuals are involved.

Pros: - The amount of customization you can have over request forms
- The compilation of tasks / documents / notes in one single place
- The proofing and approval mechanism being built right into the software - no more email attachments or claims of missing emails (items are time stamped re: access)
- Good mix of collaboration and project management

Cons: - If you're in a task you need to navigate back to the main project to review custom form details (which are sort of buried)
- Not as seamless email interaction as something like basecamp (where you can respond to a project directly in an email)
- Pretty 'dry' looking interface - not the most user-friendly as I've found myself clicking to learn
- While there is a LOT of customization it's not perfect. We've had to compromise in a few spots.

The software has a standard interface nothing too fancy but a very clean look.

Pros: The are alot of options for tracking time, users can create their own custom dashboards, the recent update ticker on the side is a nice feature.

Cons: I would like for the interface to be more aesthetically pleasing especially with the offering of a client facing module to submit tickets/issues. With all the options to tracking time I wish there was a way to remove the other time options from the organization so it doesn't confuse another user.

Overall: More visibility into projects.

We used this project management software to track marketing and creative jobs.

Pros: I liked how you could easily see all the jobs you initiated, track the progress, collaborate about issues and see where each job was getting bottlenecked.

Cons: My biggest frustration with this software is that you do not get alerted to things unless you're tagged, even if you initiated the job. You have to manually tag each person every time you make a comment if you want them to see it.

Our support organization uses WorkFront to track the hundreds of projects we have currently.

Pros: Easy access, web-based intuitive interface that flows with a project manager's thought process. It allows tracking of issues, updates, and time spent- not to mention staffing and Gantt charts. There is nothing missing from this PM tracking software from my standpoint.

Cons: It is complicated, but so is Project Management. You can ramp this software up to detail the many choices, decisions and processes involved, but you may intimidate new team members with it.

Overall: Everything we needed from PM software.

Pros: Unlimited customization and personalization of every feature ¿ including custom fields for reports, and projects. Able to streamline all work and communication between departments onto one platform, as well as eliminates unnecessary emails. You can update colleagues about a task or project on the platform instead of via a face to face meeting, phone call, or email. The Workfront team guides you to build out the program and is available if you need advice about the best way to structure the program for your needs. I also love that the program is cloud based and available on a mobile app - so it's accessible virtually anywhere! You can also use the program to collaborate with people outside of your company - e.g. share documents for 3rd party review or update a client on their project progress.

Cons: You need to purchase a minimum # of licenses in order to use the software so this can be expensive. Since the program is so customizable, expect the build out of the program to take a lot of time as you need to insert all of the information into the program.

We have used ProofHQ/Workfront Proof for the past year and a half and it has been a game changer.

Pros: The best part about this software is how much time it has saved (both externally and externally) and the easy of which changes can be communicated between staff and clients.

Cons: The customer support is not the greatest. We have tried multiple times to talk to someone about demos of other products without any success.

This has been a great investment for us. Has increased productivity and efficiency.

Pros: The proofing capabilities and knowing the current status of projects has changed the project oversight in our company tremendously.

Cons: The company is so big it sometimes seems that you can get lost in the shuffle. Doesn't matter in a daily capacity as the software is so user friendly but can be cumbersome when making additions/changes.

Pros: I liked the ability to collaborate with different people within the organization. If I were working on a project it becomes very hard to assign different tasks to different people. Workfront allow me to collaborate with different people within my team and assign tasks and responsibilities.

Cons: The dashboard looks daunting. The user interface has a learning curve associated with it and takes time to get used to. Though once understood the UI is fairly easy to navigate.

Comments: Great software resource tool. Especially for project management.

Pros: You can shedule all tasks of a project, assaign it to collegues, collect all costs and working times, days to start and finish tasks, problems, and many more. It's easy for the finance team to see wheather a project is profitable or not.

Cons: You really need a workshop to implement it in your company. It's a complex software and not intuitiv in using. Some features are still missing like restore a wrong deleted task but they are working on it.

As a brand new user I think Workfront is a fantastic program for managing time and workflow.

Pros: I like that there is a very extensive api that gives you access to most every aspect and set of data in the system

Cons: My biggest complaint would be the immediate deletion of things when users delete them. Our organization needs a trail of everything that goes.

Pros: Provides a platform that allows a smaller business team or PMO to provide big and powerful reports and insights to decision makers without end users having to be experts.

Cons: Reliance on daily input of data from teams. Teams that are unable (or unwilling) to provide daily updates take away from the impact of the product.

Overall: Consolidated, centralised intelligence on the projects and pipeline.

We installed Workfront 7 years ago and to this day it is still an integral part of our business.

Pros: Reporting functionality is fantastic. Is able to give us visibility of so many different things that we need to monitor and act on for each project.

Cons: Not able to store historical data in the same way as current-state data for the purposes of monthly comparison e.g. savings figures on a project

Pros: It has broad functionality and follow typical project management flows and tools such as agile and different project views.

It is rich enough to run complex projects and you can simplify it to make it easier to use for users that have no or limited project management experience.

The system administrator can do most, if not all, configuration so you keep control of the system in-house without needing consultancy.

I particularly like that you can report on all fields in the system, even against custom forms, so if you have a non-standard project need you can report on it.

Cons: Out of the box there are no templates or workflows, which means you start from scratch. There would be nice to have had some basic flows to start with.

Some of my colleagues in the marketing team found the broad functionality, needing to access different screens to do different work, quite intimidating. This can be solved with custom dashboards, but as a project management tool designed for marketers (who don't usually have project management training) having an out of the box 'simplified view' would be good.

Overall: Having a singe route for the marketing operations team (our internal agency) to take in work has created more structured, more consistent intake so work can be assessed more easily. It has completely stopped requests getting stuck in peoples email inboxes or sent to the wrong person.

We now also have greater visibility of projects and requests. Can asses the type and volume of work so we can schedule resources easier and plan for future recruitment better.

Wouldn't be without it now. It is vital for our project management and data analysis for planning.

Pros: Personally, reporting is the most useful for me. I run reports daily to glean information for resourcing and future project planning. For our editors, the project plans are vital to manage 100s of tasks in one place and assign work to their team members.

Cons: It can be slow and temperamental at times. Dragging and dropping tasks is a no-no! You never know where it will end up! It is largely intuitive but I have found that it is only by trial and error that I have learned how to ask for what I want to see in reports. Not always immediately obvious. Updates can affect reports also and render them useless / not working as they were before the update.

Overall: Visibility and transparency across our projects (10 per year), more accurate information for resource forecasting and project planning.

Pros: Dashboards are a dream to configure without a developer. Software is very easy to train with to internal and external users.

Cons: Restrictions on reporting, but this is an area Workfront are focusing on so excited to see the roll out.

Overall: Quick turnaround in producing templates / projects to the users

Pros: Very high communication capabilities: very advanced tools for designing and customizing dahsboards.
Strong capabilities in defining customized forms (custom data)
Vey advanced API interface (we used them to interface Workfront with 4 different products)
Powerful setup capabilities which are really great.
The product is very felxible and can match any kinds of project types.

Cons: The learning curve is quite high if you want to take benefit of all the powerful capabilities.
The product has currently two GANTT charts (a legacy one which has an advanced graphical designer built in Flash with no evolution, and a new one in HTML). The new one is simple and promising but needs further graphical enhancements. There are on-going implementations.

Overall: We could register all projects in our institution and could supply dashboards to our top management.

The software enables me to see everything I want to see, all in one place.

Pros: Easy to use and intuitive. great customer support and immediate response if I have a problem. This is then followed up with emails. all in all, I am very happy with this software and support.

Cons: hard to find something I don't like, but error messages don't explain well enough what I have done wrong!! this is common with software, so is not an isolated problem, but is frustrating. Ideally it would code the error but then tell you how to put it right.

The system has been very flexible allowing us to adapt to different project management requirements.

Pros: It provides a user friendly way of obtaining project visibility and also drives accountability across delivery teams. I was responsible for lobbying for Workfront within our business and this has shown clear benefit and results.

Cons: Reporting could be more user friendly; would be great if dashboard views could be replicated as reports that could be distributed as PDF's for example. Being able to cut and splice project data would be a powerful sell to key stakeholders.

Pros: its a collaboration tool for project management with the possibility of resource capacity planning.

Cons: Current report functionalities do not provide adequate flexibility. With limited resources I'm the only admin and I'm not technical but it would be good to be able to do some basic API myself. Difficult to reconfigure the tool following structure changes/a lot of resource changes.

Overall: It has increased the visibility of projects across the firm. Also, allows us to gather our monthly status reports via the tool.

Only just begun deploying the product, but all engagement so far has been very impressive

Pros: I really enjoy the access level controls and customization of the product. I find it very useful and a one-stop-shop in terms of a product.

Cons: It can be quite difficult to train a new Plan license user due to the multitude of parameters. There are some additional features that would be nice to add and it seems they are becoming more responsive to those requests.

Overall: Our team gains visibility across projects throughout the company, which is something we did not have previously.

Pros: The reporting functionality makes it easy to extract information. The functionality around resourcing, project planning, timesheeting makes project costs and revenues transparent.

Cons: It is not always possible to make all of the customisations that you would like although there is an idea exchange where you can suggest changes and these are used to drive future enhancements.

Overall: Portfolio and project visibility and the ability to track resource costs.

Workfront has allowed us to gain greater visibility of all our project work.

Overall: WorkFront seems to have a lot of reporting capabilities and has great functionality that helps managers see the workload of their team IF the manager is willing to input and keep up a lot of detailed information. However, this is not as user-friendly or as intuitive as other software programs I've used. The staff seem to be good about building out personizec features and reports for the company but I haven't dealt with them so I don't know how easy they are to work with or how quick of a turnaround time they've had. This is not made to be a multi-use program meaning it's made to manage tasks and employees' time and workload but not document storage, communication portal, or for front facing the customer. It is a complex software, which means it can do a lot but it takes a lot of time to get to know it and use it well.

Recommendations to other buyers: Do the training courses and start slow. Getting details right the first time will help a lot.

Pros: configurability - very easy to create reports and dashboards

Cons: would like more flexibility with layouts of dashboards. right now you have a few to select from but I would like the ability to choose how many reports to show horizontally anywhere in the dashboard vs. the pre-defined templates.

Overall: Overall, we have gotten a lot of value out of Workfront but we have had to do a lot of customization to get the executive level, rolled up reporting we need. Glad to hear that color selection is coming and the ability to report across objects! Would love to see a time entry license type for users that log in about 50 times a year. Currently pricey.

Pros: Highly flexible. Easy to navigate. Love the ability to easily provide a customized front end for groups of users via the layout templates. On top of all that, the training and support is excellent!

Cons: Limited capability to track planned and actual benefits.

Overall: Workfront has come a LONG way in the last 3 years. If you saw it before and havent looked recently, take another look. The tool is a great place to call your single source of truth. By configuring to your needs, you can make it easy for your people to keep their data up-to-date.

While the basics are great, and some extensions are really nice, it provides only rudimentary capability to track business value of the projects. For that, you'll probably need to go offline or create additional custom data elements.

Cons: The least thing I like about WF is that everyone once they see it wants it...so makes my job harder...Really there is really not a thing I have not liked about it based on our implementation.

Overall: We have been live on Workfront for 3 months. As expected, the process definition and change management aspects of the project have been the most time consuming and challenging. The tool is easy to setup/configure, but it does have a higher learning curve for our users than we expected. The biggest benefit we are seeing so far is significantly increased visibility to our projects. The biggest pain points are getting users to update the data accurately and consistently to better enable accurate reporting.

Recommendations to other buyers: - Implementation was rough. Make sure you plan ample time for design and process workflow definition before configuration.

Cons: Llayered tab layout is clunky UI-wise. Resource management and time logging lacks functionality and integration.

Overall: Of all the products we reviewed during the sales process, this was the best and we are still happy with our choice. The best aspect is the care Workfront provides to its customers and its willingness and emphasis to listen to customers and improve. We know this tool will only grow better.

It is pretty intuitive and easy to customize from an admin perspective, especially versus other tools. We are a tech savvy company so this is a great match of powerful, customizable functionality made intuitive.

We are wild about templates so that all departments know the steps required for another team to complete a certain part of the overall project.

Reporting and calendars are wonderful for executives and directors- eliminates all those emails asking for status updates!

Pros: Major functionality - it pretty much does everything you need to run a productive marketing org.

Cons: Can be overwhelming , so start simple.

Overall: We replaced an existing tool for Marketing PM that we had outgrown. We had defined our workflows and our teams were in the habit of using a PM tool. The extensive features were intimidating to some of our team at first but with the help of our on-boarding team we simplified the way Workfront was presented and quickly had 100% buy-in. Without workfront our small PM team would drown in more than 3000 projects per year. Workfront gives us sanity, transparency, and control. Very reliable and improving constantly.

Recommendations to other buyers: Try to understand your processes rather than rely on the implementation process. In our experience it is the quickest way to being up and live.

Pros: very visual, intuitive and customizeable

Cons: stabilty, cloud processing of big data lags

Overall: I have noticed in the past couple months increased outages and glitches. The support team is good but I feel like is only two people managing all requests. I would love to see more mobile functionality and the ability to pull a report based on reports to. I would like increased functionality with 3rd party software (jabber, lync, outlook - not 365, and time management programs)

Pros: Communication and ability to tie updates in one place on projects.

Cons: Can be overwhelming to start

Overall: Workfront is intuitive, but for some users can seem overwhelming at the start. From a system admin perspective, we seem to solve a lot of our issues before Support gets back to us.

Comments: Feature rich product that is continuously improving on what they have. Since it is cloud-based you have access to the information at any time. No more syncing or emailing spreadsheets around to make sure that the work is getting done. Provides a structure and consistency for folks so that they can move within different areas of the company and not have a learning curve on how to get work done.

Pros: Comprehensive product with large set of capabilities. Love the integration of Proof HQ. Looking forward to better utilizing the API for integration into other systems.

Cons: It can be a little overwhelming to the average user. Interface could be more simplistic and intuitive for creative teams.

Overall: We've been using Workfront for a little over a year. While my concentration is the creative community, it is used by the entire company.

Comments: We've been using Workfront since the start of 2017 and it's provided us with tremendous visibility in the status of our projects as well as helping us realize how inefficient our existing processes can be. We're beginning to use the reports and analytics to understand where we can improve and measure those improvements. It's very simple as it's most basic task tracking level but Workfront can do so much more. We're looking forward to taking full advantage of these new tools.

Comments: Among all the products we've reviewed, Workfront appears to have a lot more functionality than other competitors. All applications have difficulty with user adoption and can't deny that we had issues with this as well but now most of our users are used to being in Workfront and the preference for the tool is going up as well.

Pros: Proofing.

Cons: There are a lot of steps and training is involved ... which inhibits buy-in.

Overall: The overall produce is GREAT. However, it's not very intuitive. Yes, the trainings are good and help you a lot. However, it's A LOT ... especially when you get new team members. My thoughts are that there should be a light version. Something a little more simple and intuitive where you can get rolling faster!

Overall: Workfront is a great software to help organize and streamline your projects and process. Utilizing for project management and proofing, Workfront helped us eliminate back and forth emails and time consuming task of making sure you gather all the information needed to start a project and making sure you got all the feedback that was buried in multiple emails. Looking forward to getting more of our team on the software.

Pros: Easy to teach users and set up customizable forms

Cons: Sometimes having 3 ways to do everything is a bit confusing to new users. Premium proof HQ also has some quirks but WF is aware and is very good at making strides to always improve their projects.

Overall: I can't say enough about this software - particularly for Marketing, Creative and PR needs. Very intuitive and the ability for great customization.

Comments: Implemented about 1.5 yrs ago and have loved Workfront. It's a very robust tool with lots of bells and whistles. It's a great tool for automated notifications to help keep projects moving without constant oversight required by project managers. Although, the implementation can take a while, and never really completes, as you can constantly improve the environment to improve processes. Easy for creatives to learn/use. More difficult for project managers to learn/use b/c they are doing so much more in the system. Highly recommend!

Overall: Workfront is an amazing tool and it would probably be impossible to completely utilize it at 100%. Our team has been impressed, albeit overwhelmed, with the options, but are already seeing improvements in less than 6 months of use.

Pros: Keeping out projects organized and moving. Ease of use for filtering requests and approvals. Managing timlines

Overall: Been using for just over one year now. Implementation and set up was phenomenal. Any issues Ive had have been quickly rectified with the customer support line.

Pros: It is a great product for Program Management

Cons: It is not a great product for service desk or ticketing systems

Overall: I am a new user/sys admin to WF and it has been an overall successful implementation; however, some items that should be fairly common or easier to use seem to be the hardest to get support on. The reporting feature in WF has some great qualities but from a Service Desk point of view it is difficult to track time/efforts by employees.

Pros: Ease of use. Flexibility of the templates, workflows and ability to build custom forms.

Cons: Roll out of new features is a little slow.

Overall: Our company uses Workfront to manage multiple teams, projects and deliverables for all high level marketing initiatives.

With very little ramp up and the help of SSO integration, new users are able to use the tool immediately after being added.

A central collaboration tool that's flexible and able to be built upon is the key to project success and Workfront helps us reach that goal every time.

Recommendations to other buyers: Definitely join the Workfront Community. Best way to really learn how to master the tool is to network with other users outside of your organization.
