### "Reliable Digital Fundraising Platform with Exceptional Support"

We have been able to leverage Funraise to boost our Digital Fundraising program over the last 9 years. Today, we use the Funraise platform to solicit one-time gifts, monthly subscriptions, run emergency campaigns, host P2P fundraising, support Corporate Partnerships, and host small cultivation and fundraising events. It integrates with our Salesforce environment in a very robust way so we get a 360 degree view of our donors. The support staff know their product well and are determined to help us create or find solutions for all our needs.

Pros

Funraise's customer service is excellent - they are very responsive to issues and inquiries we have about the platform. They work closely with us to resolve problems and to tailor the platform to meet our needs. They have even worked with us on some custom solutions that were later rolled out as platform features!

Cons

It took them a very long time to release a donor portal even though we had been asking for one for years. The one they now have is a bit limited, but I am hoping it will be come more robust with time so our donors and self-service their recurring donations more easily and get copies of receipts.

### "A Solid Donation Platform with Room to Grow"

Funraise is a capable, user-friendly platform that delivers real value for nonprofits looking to manage and grow their fundraising. The helpful staff and ongoing product improvements make it easy to recommend — but prospective customers should go in with eyes open about account management continuity and the full scope of fees. With some improvements in those areas, this could easily be a five-star product.

Pros

Ease of use is a real strength here. The platform has a relatively short learning curve, making it accessible even for team members who aren't especially tech-savvy. Onboarding didn't feel overwhelming, and day-to-day use is straightforward. The Funraise team is also notably helpful. Whenever we've needed support, staff have been responsive and willing to work through issues with us. You can tell there's genuine investment in customer success. Perhaps most encouragingly, the platform continues to improve. Updates and new features roll out with some regularity, which signals that the team is listening to user feedback and actively investing in the product.

Cons

Staff turnover and account management transitions are handled poorly. On more than one occasion, our client service manager changed without any proactive communication from Funraise. Finding out your main point of contact has changed — after the fact — creates unnecessary friction and can slow down issue resolution. Pricing transparency is another area that needs work. The fee structure can feel misleading at first glance, with certain charges that aren't immediately obvious during the sales or onboarding process. Nonprofits operating on tight budgets need to scrutinize the full pricing breakdown carefully before committing to any add-on's.

Once you get past the initial learning curve, the workflows for campaigns, online donations, and recurring giving are reliable and efficient. Our donors have a smooth giving experience, and it’s helpful to have donation data, donor profiles, and reporting in one place. The support team and educational resources give us confidence to expand how we’re using the product over time, even with limited internal tech capacity.

Pros

What I like most about Funraise is that it brings our core fundraising tools into one platform that is clearly built for nonprofits rather than generic ecommerce. The donation forms, peer‑to‑peer pages, and campaign sites look modern and are easy for donors to use, which has helped improve conversion and donor experience. The automation around recurring gifts, receipts, and basic donor follow‑ups saves a lot of admin time for a small team. I also really value the nonprofit‑savvy support and training resources (Funraise University, knowledge base, and customer success), which make it easier to get up and running even if you’re not deeply technical.

Cons

The main downside is the learning curve and some usability friction when you’re still new to the platform. Some tasks, like configuring email templates, managing images and links, or finding the right report view, can feel a bit unintuitive until you’ve done them a few times. Because Funraise is quite feature‑rich, you sometimes have to click through several areas to find the specific setting or data you need. I have never felt like I wasn't in competent hands with Funraise. Their customer service is quick and they help us create ways to organize our data that feel custom and specific to our needs - and our org has very specific needs!

Pros

The customer support! There have been so many changes at our org and Funraise has helped us pivot to meet the needs of a merger + major data organizing overhaul - and never compromised what we had built with our donors and advocates! They go above and beyond to help us build what we need via Funraise Intelligence dashboards, etc.

Cons

I wish there were better de-duping features so that we could better troubleshoot duplicate accounts and update data simply for all of our donors/advocates.

We primarily use Funraise for secure online payments with a mobile-friendly interface, automatic generation of receipts, and hosting campaigns with a fundraising goal and progress/status bar. This platform allows us to fundraise responsibly without a development team, but if we had one, we would be unstoppable. Here’s to raising enough funds to grow our team and reach even more impact. Pros

We’ve been with Funraise since 2017 and have truly grown alongside the company. It’s clear Funraise was built by people who understand the nonprofit world and genuinely want to see the sector thrive — including small organizations like ours. Our success managers have always been attentive, thoughtful, and eager to share new and creative ideas. The peer-to-peer platform is seamless, and supporters of all ages and abilities can easily interact with it.

Cons

While Funraise is constantly improving, some of the newer features take a little time to fully explore and integrate into our workflow. That said, the team is always responsive and helpful in guiding us through updates.

Overall, as a new user to the system, I find Funraise to be user friendly and easy to navigate once reviewing videos and actually working on the site to find out it's different capabilities.

Pros

I like how easy it is to enter in transactions, review past transactions, and to list them based on what we are focused on. Furthermore, I like the ability to review potential donors to learn more about them and their potential to donate more to our cause. As we are a non profit, this makes it almost seamless for us to use for our events, and general transactions.

Cons

I don't like that there isn't an easy way to group tickets for sponsors at events. I believe the events aspect as a whole is quite small and doesn't have a lot of usage other than small events. I wish it had the ability to do more with text to give, tickets, and auctions.

Overall, Funraise has been a great tool for our non-profit. It's been easy for our donors to use quick pay options like Apple Pay, Venmo, and PayPal. For our team, it has been insightful to have all these reporting options.

Pros

The team at Funraise is so on top of it. If you have a question about how to do something on the platform, they are very quick to respond to your request and will even send you a video tutorial or schedule a Zoom call to walk you through it. I really appreciate the fast and thorough response!

Cons

The intelligence side of Funraise is so specific and adept at pulling reports that it can sometimes be challenging to determine how to retrieve the exact report you're looking for. Their team is always quick to help walk you through it so you can effectively (and quickly) pull the reports you need.

Pros

Very user friendly. I find Funraise is easy to navigate and if I do have any questions getting an answer is also fast and efficient. Their customer service is wonderful!

Cons

There aren't too many things that I don't like. One critique is offering more options in reporting for our current subscription. Right now we're only able to create one report at a time.

Overall, my experience with Funraise has been very positive. The platform offers strong donor management and fundraising capabilities, and the customer support has been one of the biggest strengths. While there can be a learning curve with some of the features, the available training resources and responsive support team make it much easier to get up and running. Once you learn the system, it can be a very powerful tool for nonprofit fundraising and donor engagement.

Pros

The customer service is excellent. I’ve been able to schedule Zoom calls with very short turnaround times and get questions answered quickly, along with personalized guidance and training. They also have a robust help center and Fundraiser University with easy-to-follow articles and videos that make learning the platform much easier. I’ve also been very impressed with the donor management features, including tools for donor cultivation, task creation, and automated thank-you letters. Their fundraising pages are another major strength — you can create donation landing pages with a lot of automation built in, which saves time and streamlines the donor experience.

Cons

Some features can be difficult to navigate at first and aren’t always intuitive. There have been times when it wasn’t immediately clear how to use a feature or even what certain tools were designed for. That said, their Fundraiser University and help resources usually make it easy to find tutorials and answers.

Have been using the Funraise platform for over a year, but only recently started learning more about their Funraise Intelligence offerings, and have been thrilled at the reporting we're able to customize and the data insight it provides our team.

Cons

It's quite easy to have many duplicate records. Wish there was a way to prevent this from happening so frequently. Also wish there were more sophisticated ways of tracking certain soft credits such as DAF gifts in donor records.

Overall, my experience with Funraise has been very positive. The platform is simple to navigate, and the support from the team has been excellent. It’s been a helpful tool for managing fundraising efforts and getting campaigns up and running quickly.

Pros

What I like most about Funraise is how easy the platform is to use. The interface is very intuitive, which made getting started much less overwhelming. I also really appreciate having an account manager. He’s always friendly, professional, and available when I have questions or need help setting something up. Having that personal support has made a big difference, especially while learning the system.

Cons

My least favorite aspect is the cost. In the beginning, the level of support and guidance feels very worth it while you’re learning the platform. However, once you start to get the hang of everything, it makes you wonder if you’ll still need that same level of support long-term and whether the cost will continue to make sense.

It is a good tool but has lots of quirks in the backend. I was reaching out to the help team daily to better understand how to get the page to look the way I wanted. Overall, user friendly though.

Pros

The easy peer to peer tool that employees could share out to raise money. The helpful help team that responded quickly.

Cons

The challenging integration with Daxko that requires lots of work. It does not transfer all information over and still requires steps to have them land correctly in Daxko.

Their customer support is incredible--by far the best of any software I've used! They are always willing to meet, call, or make changes. You also are always talking to a real person.

Cons

They sometimes roll out updates prior to announcing them, which sometimes conflicts with our strategy/use of the software, but their team is always so responsive for finding a fix.

Pros

It is really hard to say what I like most given I have had an absolutely awful experience with the customer service. The software is as good as most others.

Cons

Our non-profit suffered the loss of my grandson in 2022 at 7 years old leaving our Board in rough emotional condition. In 2024, after receiving a huge charge because we did not process enough donations in the year, we contacted Funraise and cancelled. I just received the same huge charge even though we have not fundraised or received funds for over 2 years. Funraise responded that I cancelled 3 weeks after the new year started in October 2024 therefore I was responsible for the entire year 9/24 - 9/25.

Pretty easy to use, the visibility of progress towards goals, the dashboard, the availability of support, the willingness to run down answers to questions where there isn’t certainty.

That you have to download and integrate lists to get to a hyper filtered data set rather than a portable of “if this” “and that.

I’m using it as a donation processor only, so I don’t use a lot of the features. It’s easy to set up. Customer support is mixed.

Pros

User friendly donation pages. Easy to figure out back end for the most part. Sales rep was very knowledgeable.

Cons

Glitchy - doesn’t always push changes through. Also the question and answer bit feels over complicated from a data perspective.

I wish we had gone with a different option. The sales pitch led me believe there were more options to customize the donor-facing communications (individual receipts, year-end receipts, But I think the biggest issue is that donor information is automatically overwritten if an existing donor makes a new online gift. There's no duplicate-checker, it will just overwrite the info you've entered or transferred, deleting previous addresses, allowing for typos, changing names, etc etc. It will make you not trust your data.

Pros

It is fairly easy to use, particularly if you do not have complex needs. Do you just need to store a few donors and their gifts? This might work for you. The online donation forms also look very nice.

Cons

There are a few things that just don't make sense and probably won't work for your org if you have slightly-more-complex needs. Or married donors. Or don't want your existing data overwritten willy-nilly: -->There's no option for co-donors and 'household' receipts don't include household members. To get around that, you can enter donors as FirstName John & Jane Last Name Doe, but if Jane makes an online gift with the associated email address, any existing info is overwritten and all gifts now only have that one donor's name associated. There's no logical way within Funraise to handle donors who request receipts for joint gifts--if you follow the Funraise rules, someone is left off the receipt, and if you don't follow their rules, your data can be overwritten and you'd have no idea. There's no nuance for gifts made by couples, couples having different last names, etc etc. -->There's also no way to check for duplicates--if all of the info is different except the email address, existing info is just overwritten by new online gifts. If all of the info is the same except the email address, a new record is created. It does not alert you if either of those things happen. -->You cannot customize the email that is generated by a donor to alert someone that a gift was made in their honor. It's not particularly friendly. -->Cumulative year end receipts can only be generated for the prior year--there's no way to adjust the dates or how the data is presented. (This was a big selling point for us--the ability to easily send a year-end summary to donors.) -->There are also small annoying things that make data-entry more time-consuming than it needs to be for gifts that are made outside of Funraise: you cannot type in the date that a gift was made, you have to scroll back through a calendar to click on a date. Not life or death, but if you're entering past gifts, you're clicking around a ton (vs just being able to type 07/29/24). -->You cannot delete donor records. You can merge them if you know there's a duplicate.

The donor-facing online giving forms do look very nice! And the sales pitch was convincing! I had anticipated more customization than there is.

Funraise makes us look 'PRO' for major global corporations. We've run global Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) campaigns with donors and volunteers from Microsoft, Amazon, Walt Disney Company, Netflix, Horizon Therapeutics ~ they have high expectations about the user experience and Funraise has never let us down. I never wonder is my DRM will fail us.

Pros

Three things make Funraise the best donor management software on the market: 1) Technology built by nonprofit leadership for nonprofit leaders. As CEO of ANGEL AID, I don't have time to fuss around with technology platforms but we need a mobile-first, scalable solutions to meet our goals. We launched with Funraise and the intuitive interface has made it so easy for our team to grow aggressively. We have used Funraise to build campaign websites, email prospective donors, acknowledge donations, text event details, and (most important) automatically process end-of-year acknowledgement letters with ease. 2) Exceptional Customer Success team. Our donor campaigns benefit from a 1-to-1 reviews with the Funraise Customer Success team. We have had several leads over the past two years, but every interaction is with a positive, encouraging, knowledgable resource who offers the details to make our campaigns more successful. Our current Customer Success Manager, \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\], is exceptional. \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] is responsive, creative, and thoughtful about user flows ~ ANGEL AID donors have commented on how easy it is to work with us ~ that is one part software and two parts \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\]! \[helping us think through how to use the software\]. 3) How To Guides ~ Funraise publishes a steady flow of guides, blogs and recommendations for how to tackle big opportunities (like peer-to-peer, Facebook Fundraisers, Text Campaigns) that we share with our team. Cons

The ticketing function negates the ability for donors to sign-up for recurring donations. That is a miss. Campaigns that have ticketing may galvanize a potential donor who cannot join the event, but want to sponsor an ongoing program... There should be the ability to do recurring donations, even when tickets are the call-to-action.
