I'm able to limit inbound connections to our network to exactly who needs access. Does a great job at handling multiple internet connections for redundancy. VPN, which is vital for myself and other employees, has worked great and compatible with multiple devices from PCs to phones to Ipads. Watchguard has some good guides at helping understand how to setup everything and their support has been very helpful in the past. Pros It gives me all the features that are required for our business and has worked well. Cons Takes some time understanding how to setup policies, configure ports, and other networking. I have used these for about 22 years and as long as you update them and keep the hardware current I have yet to have a break in. Pros Ease of use...ease of upgrading and transferring custom settings. I was able to update to a new model and transfer my settings in 5 minutes. Cons I wish the EOL was a longer period of time. WatchGuard EOL's are short and I know the hardware is not EOL and would work fine for a longer period. They limit it with software. which I wish they would not do. Cons The cloud based management option is missing a lot of features still. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this type of deployment until it is much more feature rich. The devices are much too pricy to get a unit that supports the throughput that even a small office can get. They are really lagging behind in making a device with 1GB UTM throughput affordable since that is very common now. The box is easy to set up and maintain. The geolocation facility is good for blocking undesirable territories. Our network has been made much more secure for years because of Watchguard firewalls.
