Overall the experience is great. It has made submitting prior authorizations and medical work more efficient and effective but there is room for more emprovements.

Pros

It helps with submitting prior authorizations so much easier. Customer support is very helpful and can help you when you are stuck.

Cons

It can be difficult to use it for beginners and needs to be trained. It can sometimes provide misinformation like even if prior authorization was submitted successfully, it stated that it was not submitted. If submitting authorizations has issues, it does not make it clear what the issue is. Too many questions asked which makes it difficult.

A useful platform for medication prior authorization submission that saves time.

Pros

Cover My Meds is more convenient than calling each individual insurance to submit medication prior authorizations.

Cons

Cover My Meds is a useful platform, most of the issues I have with it are not with the platform itself.One mild irritation is that if a pharmacy submits and sends you a prior authorization and inputs the provider's information incorrectly, it will update the provider's information to the wrong information on your end as well. It is an easy fix, however, and is due to user error (just not on my end).

Pros

None, another layer for medical practice to jump through for prior auth's. This program in no way makes it any easier or beneficial to the provider trying to get medications approved. It would be of some use if it gave an alternatively preferred drug that we, as the provider's, could select or like the previous MD noted give the guidelines needed to get the drug we wanted to use approved. This does not improve the process in any way shape or form.

Cons

as noted above, from a provider stance, this does not improve the prior auth process at all.

Pros

The thing I like most about covermymeds is that it sends prior authorization requests automatically. This saves me a lot of time to have to either call or fax a request.

Cons

The thing I like east about the product is the fact that I can't print a copy of the request sent to the doctor , or at least I can't figure it out.

It was easy to just type instead of getting put on hold from the doctors office when we needed to get a prior authorization for a patient for their medications

Pros

What I like about covermymeds is that we can send MD any prior authorizations that require attention from the pharmacy.

Cons

We still have to input patients information such as insurance and policy number. Sometimes MD update fax number and it takes a long time to process back.

Over, I've had a positive experience with CoverMyMeds and will use it in the future.

Pros

I did enjoy it being easier to complete prior authorizations for medications electronically especially compared to faxing.

Cons

I did not like how faxes were still sent to us with the authorization key, which means that we still need to flip through the faxes.

Some prescribed medications are not covered without Prior Authorization by their insurance companies. We use this application to help expedite the process between their pharmacy, our office and their insurance companies. It allows us to show and attach documentation as to why they medication is needed and what they have tried before.

Pros

It allows me to help my patients get the medicines prescribed by our doctor. Their technical support is also very helpful when needing to find more detailed information about the members rx bin numbers. The chat function is my favorite.

Cons

Sometimes get weird rejections after a Prior Authorization is created by the pharmacy. I shouldn't get them unless they are actually sent to the correct place.

It helps save wait times for the patients and makes it more efficient for the medical office to try and help get the medications covered.

Pros

You can access form anywhere. I like that it saves the patients information so if you need to do a prior auth on another prescription or the follow ing year the patients information is saved for future prior auth. You look quickly to see if they are approved and not have to wait on the phone.

Cons

I do not like that if you have to use another way to get the prior auth they do not always let you know in a timely fashion.

This has streamlined some of the prior authorization issues we've had in the past and it seems to be pretty user friendly overall. Appreciate that it also gives a percentage and options sometimes of other meds that may be covered

Pros

Easy to use program for prior authorization. While I, personally, don't use this as often because my staff is utilizing the product, I have seen how much easier the process can be.

Cons

Sometimes it doesn't seem to work or takes a long time to process a request. The only other thing to note for a practice: have all your staff feel comfortable using this so when an individual is out, requests aren't sitting there all week.

Cons

That you have to go in and fill in the addresses of the Dr and the patient. I do not understand why it doesn't transfer that info

IF I could find what the formulary alternatives were for any medical plan and what the criteria for non formulary medications to be approved were, this would be a great service. However, this is not the information you get. It is just another layer of bureaucracy for prior authorizations

Cons

I need to know what is on formulary and exactly what the formulary restrictions are for getting a medication that is nonformulary- THIS SOFTWARE DOES NEITHER. I see your employees rate their work experience highly, too bad your not offering any real service

While insurance-related delays are sometimes unavoidable, CoverMyMeds helps simplify a process that would otherwise be much more time-consuming for clinic staff and patients.

Pros

CoverMyMeds helps streamline the prior authorization process compared to traditional phone and fax methods. It is helpful being able to submit electronic prior authorizations, track request statuses, and communicate with insurance plans within one platform. In a busy internal medicine clinic setting, it helps reduce some of the administrative burden related to medication approvals and refill requests. The platform is generally user friendly and integrates well into daily workflows for staff handling prescriptions and patient follow-up.

Cons

One downside is that approval turnaround times still heavily depend on the insurance company, so delays can happen even when everything is submitted correctly. Some requests may require additional clinical documentation or duplicate submissions depending on the payer. There can also be occasional issues with status updates not reflecting in real time, which may lead to extra follow-up from clinic staff.

Generally horrible. We have to hire extra staff for the administrative burden. The questions generated are irrelevant. For example, they ask several times for medications "Is this a narcotic" when they already know it is not. Why are they wasting clinician time?

Pros

nothing, stands in the way of getting medicine covered. I really fundamentally do not like anything about CoverMyMeds at all.

Cons

Asks too many irrelevant and repetitive questions. Often provides minor, random and capricious reasons for unnecessary denials of medications for patients. Creates unnecessary bureaucratic burden for providers. Essentially prevents numerous patients from getting not just more pricey medications; but often simple refills or very basic generic medications. Does not integrate well with our EMR. Yet another "middle man" between patients, their physicians and pharmacies that provides NO VALUE. Does not do anything to improve health care quality or outcomes

We have had a decent experience. I personally like the older format because it was easier to use.

Pros

I like how easy it is to send prior authorization forms to providers

Cons

While it does integrate to some extent with McKesson Enterprise pharmacy system in terms of sending prior authorizations, I wished it was more functional where we can just access all prior authorization histories from McKesson instead of having to log in separately.

Terrible. I waste so much time on it. It needs to be worked on by someone with experience, knowledge and training in how to design a web site.

Pros

You only log in once a day. Where there is a person, they can find out why the application isn't working.

Cons

The Chat is worthless. It's slow, doesn't answer questions, defers to a person who isn't there. The system is malfunctioning easily 50% of the time. It gives instructions to go to parts of the website that aren't there. it's archival system is primitive and they give forced choices that are not adequate. It repeats questions it has asked. it asks for research studies to back a statement. The size of upload files allowed is small in light of the requests it makes

Very, very satisficed.

Pros

This platform is the premier go-to choice for pharmacy prior authorizations. Medical providers (e.g. physician offices) can use it at no charge. Filling out a form is takes far less time than waiting on hold to speak with someone from the insurance company on the phone, who will wind up asking the same questions or filling out the same form. The system can often get a response instantly, or within minutes.

Cons

Some insurance companies (e.g. Georgia Medicaid) are not yet integrated with covermymeds. This is not really shortcoming for covermymeds, though. Some insurance companies need to take the initiative to become integrated.

This used to be one of the best platforms to submit authorizations on, now it is useless and you are not able to complete the process

Cons

We are no longer able to complete our requests on this platform. Every single request comes back with various errors and provider support has no answers
