Pros: It's really simple to begin using - I managed to add all my old invoices by uploading them into the system meaning this information is also recorded. I've found that I can use an existing invoice as a template for any new invoices I need to send so the process is really quick.

The app is a very handy solution for photoing my receipts and I'd advice this app to anyone currently using excel to do this as I always did! And at my year end, I can download all the information in excel to pass over to my accountant - it makes the whole process a lot easier.

Cons: I've noticed that there have been a number of updates in Business Hound so I hope it continues to improve. Things like automatically recurring invoices would really help me - however the process is made easier by the ability to use a previous invoice as template. Also, the registration process took a while to get through but once you're in that's you set up and with a free month.

Overall: Once set up, Business Hound is an extremely handy admin system to use. I'm a self-employed consultant and was looking for a solution to specifically help me record my expenses and send/capture invoices. Having tried the more well known options (such as FreeAgent and Xero), I found that these contained far more functionality than I needed - and were often complex to understand.

Recommendations to other buyers: Especially if you're recently self-employed and looking for a simple solution that keeps you up-to-date with your books, I'd recommend looking at Business Hound before trying to get to grips with the larger products out there.
