Cons None of the program is intuitive. Users must move from one module to another to complete a single task. Tech support is non-existent. CPA Utilities Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Estimating multi million dollar underground utility construction" January 9, 2019 5.0 Another pro is that this software can integrate with SAGE 300 Accounting, which will not only import the estimate, but also create purchase orders and email those purchase orders based on your estimate. Once you've learned how to use this and set it up it significantly saves time. Pros While this product provides you with sample databases, it is best used by creating your own database with phase codes and pricing as you do your construction. You are able to separate each phase into categories, i.e., Labor, Material, etc. There are some standard ones, but you can also add your own categories which adds to the flexibility of this software. Cons It's not really a dislike, but it is quite complex. You need one main person who controls all changes to the database, keeps pricing updated, controls anyone changing/adding phase codes, etc. You would need that with any sophisticated database. It's a very simple software to use, it is self explanatory when it comes to inputting data and what to input, as well as where to input. Pros Very easy to follow! Easy and quick to use. Self explanatory links and icons. Functionality is great! I've never had any issues with it. Cons You have to be looking for the information you want, you wont be able to just come across the information you need. November 11, 2017 2.0 The service and product support for this product is terrible at best, needed some specific questions answered about estimating module and couldn't find anyone with the knowledge to help us. Pros This product has a lot of features built in for certain business models , but isn't ideal for construction industry. Cons The thing that is bad about this product is no one in our area .I think if implementation of a product isn't done properly ,the product will not do what it was intended to do. Controller Construction Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "" January 23, 2017 4.0 Dennis Anderson Construction Corporation began using this software in 2005 when the product was called Timberline; however, at that time we only utilized some of its many functions, such as Accounts Payable, Payroll and General Ledger. In 2013, we decided to extend our contract with Sage and to take advantage of some of the other functions that we had not previously been using, such as Project Management, Billing, and Contracts, in hopes of tying all of our project information together into one software. Personally, I have only been using Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate for about five years but I utilize this software multiple times every day. It is my opinion that Sage 300 CRE is a user-friendly software (for the most part) and the modules we utilize capture all of the information exactly how we want it. Pros Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate support are PHENOMENAL! Whether it be through a live chat or a phone conversation, Sage support is always very helpful and they always show such care and concern in making sure your issue is resolved. Cons Year-End Support is very slow (1 hour + wait time) due to the high volume of customers in need of support. I would recommend that Sage hire additional support members to assist customers with Year End issues. Review Source GS Grace S. November 28, 2018 5.0 SAGE 100 is a very solid program and continues to stay current with technology. Pros It is a complete program for a small to mid size construction company. It is user friendly with many easy to find help screens. Cons We have had to hire outside support. SAGE 100 company support person have not been as helpful. We hire Wright Office for support and they are so helpful, but the persons on the support lines at SAGE are not really knowledgeable in actually using the program. Review Source AA ANGELA A. Has all modules you will need for construction software. Really liked it at first. Cons Customer service is lacking. You pay a lot of money for something you end up looking up yourself or they look it up and read to you and could do that yourself. Pros most of the time it is very self evident about how to get around the software and how to use. The menus are easy to follow and the support from the consultants, TUG and Sage is very helpful to the user. Pros I like that this software does not let you proceed if there is an amount error in the accounting module Cons I do not like that there are so many different reports that generally do the same thing. It has some great interactive tools to help build and share your estimates with clients, contractors, suppliers, and others. Cons The customer service on this product is the one thing that I absolutely have to mention. We have had some issues come up in the past and it seems that getting in touch with the right person can be a chore in and of itself. Once you do get through to that person you have to hope that they understand your problem well enough to assist you. I hope it's only us who have experienced issues with this, but I would not be honest if I didn't mention it here.
