It provides a great deal of flexibility. I have also enjoyed the help that I have received from my support team. Pros The flexibility to work with other software systems. We currently have three different software systems that we us in conjunction with Sage. Cons I am not a huge fan of the dashboard component. The problem may be with me, but every time that I have started working with it I tend to stop before I complete the dashboard that I am working on. Pros It's power to do just about anything! I love being able to run reports and then utilize the hyperlinks to see exactly where the numbers came from. Makes identifying mistakes that much easier as well. Cons It is not intuitive and is quite difficult to learn. We had a hard learning curve and were even taught some things incorrectly. Simple to understand and follow. Cons Sage 300 is not cloud based and for larger companies requires server. I find I have to repeat the same update in many forms instead of having the option to update all or many. Adjustment attachments do not update to MineralTree. Especially as it was the first larger accounting software I learned to use after Quickbooks. Pros The security and access levels that Sage 300 offers is great for mid-large sized companies. If there ever is an issue their Customer Support team has always been able to help almost instantly. Cons Could use a little revamp for Financial and other Reporting functions as that process still seems kind of clunky. Users typically satisfied once they are proficient, the initial learning curve is steep, and the platform often feels dated without supplemental tools. Pros Industry-wide use makes Sage 300 skills transferable and valued. Modular design allows you to start with core accounting and add other module i.e. A/R, A/P, Inventory/Pyaroll, Project etc. as needed. Reliable and stable for accounting tasks once properly setups are configurated. Accuracy of system. Having very few and little bugs encounters. Good security and user-permission controls. Possibility of segment classification/segregation on chart of accounts. Allow multi-company and multi-currency support. Cons All-in-one system for general ledger, payables, receivables, inventory, and project costing, which integrates daily accounting tasks requirements make it bit complex and complicated processing. User interface is inconvenient and not as easy as other provider provide i.e. QB etc. Learning curve is usually longer; the interface and workflows feel complex at least initially. Customization of reports is complex and not user friendly. Budgeting system is basic. Performance become slow with large datasets or many concurrent users. Add-ons are required for advanced features, increasing cost and complexity. Official support and documentation are often limited and not user friendly. Trainings are fee based whereas other competitor are giving free learning resources.
