My overall experience with Emburse Invoice Enterprise has been very positive. The platform streamlines invoice intake, routing, and approval in a way that reduces errors and saves meaningful time. It’s dependable, user-friendly, and well-suited for organizations that need both efficiency and strong financial controls. The transparency in workflows and the strength of the audit trail have been especially valuable, supporting smooth and consistent day‑to‑day operations.

Pros

I appreciate how intuitive and easy to navigate Emburse Invoice Enterprise is, even when handling complex invoice workflows. The automation features significantly reduce manual effort and improve accuracy, and the system integrates smoothly with other platforms. Approvals move quickly with clear visibility, and the reporting and audit trails make compliance and review processes much more efficient.

Cons

The main drawbacks I’ve experienced are that some configuration options feel limited without admin-level access, and larger invoice batches can occasionally take longer to load. A few UI elements could also benefit from additional customization to better align with internal processes, but these issues are relatively minor compared to the overall functionality.

Overall our firm has had a phenomenal experience with Emburse invoicing.

Pros

Emburse invoice software gives our firm full visibility and complete approval and control over all vendor invoices processed through our AP team.

Cons

Emburse invoice has great remote apps that we have started to use and would like to see full visibility into all invoices entered into the system.

Pros

Chrome River invoice makes managing AP invoices easy. Users around the firm submit their invoices themselves using Chrome River which has taken our AP department to a new level (not much data entry). The application automatically routes from one approver to the next, and it's relatively easy to make changes to our routing setups (and we can easily shift approval responsibilities from one person to another as necessary).

\- We've decreased our paper usage dramatically as approvals and forms are all electronic. - AP team have more time to do more analytical work (previously data entering invoices), since everyone in the firm can now enter it themselves - Can customise approval workflows easy - Can track invoices more easily, from the end user's view and from AP's view.

Cons

\- Training staff on how to use CR Invoice was difficult in particular the tax section, as not many end users have to deal with it regularly. - Getting the set up on complex business rules and approvals was difficult in the beginning - Ad hoc reporting / analytics is not the most user friendly interface to deal with - Customer service is a hit and miss at times. Requesting for changes, information on errors, took a while for a response. Sometimes when a fix is in place, may have changed something else in the system that will cause an error elsewhere. - OCR for Invoice isn't accurate and doesn't seem to learn when adding similar invoices.

Chrome River INVOICE has fully automated our accounts payable process and allowed invoice handling to take place anywhere, any time.

Pros

Chrome River's OCR engine is very accurate, and handles nearly all of the tedious detail relating to invoice intake. The customized routing/approval rules allow invoices to be routed quickly and approved from desktop or mobile devices, resulting in quick turnaround and transparent status reporting.

Cons

The initial setup of business rules for routing and approval was complex, but once set up has been very effective and required little ongoing maintenance.
