### "A solid hosting + deployment platform"

November 12, 2025

5.0

Pros

I've found Netlify's system easy to implement, it supports a range of modern stacks including Next.JS. Although a bit of a learning curve coming from a PHP/HTML setup, their system and documentation was helpful to fulfil deployment needs.

Cons

There's nothing really about Netlify that I can critique. It's a great solution that I would use in the future.

Netlify has a simplified workflow. No more wrestling with manual deployments or server management - just smooth, automated hosting with great performance. The Git integration and instant previews is important for my development process.

Pros

Netlify has truly transformed how I deploy web projects. The features I use the most - Effortless CI/CD integration User-friendly dashboard with preview links Exceptional customer support Easy to deploy and host.

Cons

Along with the Pros Netlify has some Cons that i found - Free tier limitations on build minutes and bandwidth Premium plans might be to expensive for small teams. Improvements can be made in Documentation

### "Netlify: A Great Option for Effortless and Cost-Effective Static Website Hosting"

January 19, 2023

5.0

Netlify is a great option for web developers who want to host their static websites quickly and easily. Its features, ease of use, pricing, and integration capabilities make it an excellent choice for web developers. it is a great platform for hosting static websites. It offers a variety of features such as continuous deployment, custom domains, and automatic HTTPS. The user interface is easy to navigate and the documentation is well-written and helpful. Additionally, their customer support is responsive and knowledgeable. Overall, I highly recommend Netlify for anyone looking to host a static website.

Pros

it's a great platform for developers who want to host their static websites quickly and easily. It offers a lot of features, ease of use, and integration options that make it a top choice for many developers. Good pricing it offers a free plan, which includes basic features such as continuous deployment and custom domains,

Cons

it may have some limitations in terms of advanced functionalities and not be the best choice for developers who require advanced features such as serverless functions, and real-time editing. and It's important to consider your specific needs and use case before making a decision.

### "Netlify - A Simple Review"

May 7, 2022

4.0

Positive, I use Netlify almost exclusively when I need a front-end application to host. It's not hard to use, and it's great for small businesses.

Pros

I believe the most impactful feature that this software provides is its free tier. A lot of new developers are scared to publish their work online because they don't know if they will need to cough up money. With the free tier, more developers are able to showcase their work, thus improving the developing community better.

Cons

Netlify CMS is kind of a mess. There are no proper guides to use it, and it's better to use a different CMS system, while using Netlify for the frontend.

### "Easy Jamstack Platform-as-a-Service"

December 31, 2023

5.0

On the whole using Netlify has been seamless. We use it to host some static sites and documentation, and being able to fire-and-forget the deploys for these less-critical sites has made me and our other developers incredibly happy as we can focus on building our main product instead of fiddling with build processes for documentation sites.

Pros

Their free plan is extremely generous, allowing us to host simple documentation sites and static pages for some of our less critical services. They also make deployment an absolute breeze, the platform usually scans the repo, detects our framework of choice and can single-click deploy the site. It's never been easier than that.

Cons

The time limits on serverless functions are quite restrictive, anything taking longer than 10s is usually terminated. If you're on a Pro plan, this can be increased to 26s but even that is quite restrictive compared to simply pro-rating the run time of the function with no or a configurable limit.

### "Netlify Review"

July 11, 2023

3.0

I think at the end you are probably considering Netlify, Render, Vercel or perhaps Amplify and I think its tough they all have their advantages, Netlify has its shortcomings but for things like just deploying a static website which is where I think it really excels at, its probably the best solution for that.

Pros

I like Netlifys new features with Netlify Connect allowing you to tie in your content sources for faster deployments and how easy it is to create deployments in general. One of the things I really liked is you can run npm run build and have a build folder deployed and then simply drag and drop it into Netlify to deploy, it helped us quite a ton when we were having issues with Git.

Cons

I think one of the biggest issues we faced with Netlify was speed of deployment, it just seems to be a tad slower than Vercel or Amplify today.

### "Netlify is geate choice for frontend applications"

May 12, 2022

4.0

I was using Netlify since 2 years ago and till now, my overall experience with Netlify is so good. And, In these two years, Netfliy added so many features and upgrades which made easily development process for everyone from beginners to professionals.

Pros

There are so many features in Netlify that I enjoy using like: Collab with the team/users, Custom domain, Auto-update/deploy and etc. And, I used most features of Netlify for my web applications on a daily basis which makes my apps always ready with updated pages. Also, Netlify smartly handles all my projects.

Cons

There is nothing that I don't like about Netlify but one thing that I want to point out is that the UI of the site can be improved. And, If Netlify can make an easy option for deploying server-side apps then that would be great. Other than that, I am happy and enjoying the feel of deploying static apps o Netlify!

### "Former leader now lagging"

August 26, 2022

3.0

Great until the recent incidents.

Pros

It created the segment and is still easy to use for app deployment, static hosting, updates, Pull Request review apps.

Cons

There have been several recent incidents affecting the uptime of our sites on Netlify. For an edge CDN style host this is strange and unacceptable. Also custom sub-domains are limited to only a few and SSL certs are bundled.

### "Most user friendly hosting tool for beginners"

April 12, 2022

5.0

I use Netlify to host my website, blog and personal projects. Since I gain domains from another resource, I am able to add them to Netlify and configure them to point to the deployed version of my website code, ensuring that every push to Github is reflected immediately on the website Taking care of the configuration means that I am able to focus on the core need of application development, without the hassle of set up

Pros

Netlify is an extremely easy to use hosting platform used to host and build websites and frontend web applications. It integrates with version control tools like Github, Gitlab as well as custom code uploading to directly host applications within a few clicks, without having to worry about the setup and configuration. You can customize the site names, add your custom domains, get free SSL support, and also has functionality for accepting form data for business websites. You can also set up free subdomains via Netlify

Cons

It lacks backend service hosting and database hosting. It has some technical improvements that would be helpful, such as having to add a netlify.toml file for routes in react applications

Overall for the proc

Pros

One click deployment and integration with GitHub

Cons

License based on committers. Only licensed users are able to auto deploy. After 5 years, you are expected to go on enterprise plan. There are no mid size say 10-50 seats.

### "Best Website Hosting"

November 30, 2023

5.0

Pros

Netlify is a quick and easy way to deploy my sites to the web. Not only that, I also use Netlify's DNS to manage my domains easily with a simple but neat interface. The drop and deploy feature is also great for some test sites that I want to share to my colleagues.

Cons

I have some issues with routers on Netlify, but it may be due to poor configuration. It would be nice, however, to provide a way to fix this in their documentation.

### "Distrupting Traditional Web Hosting"

May 24, 2019

5.0

Before Netlify, we had to worry about our website going down all the time, and paying 20-30x times as much as we pay today. Not only have we cut down the costs by a huge margin, but we also have a much easier dev workflow, we release more often and are stress-free.

Pros

It's so easy to use. Setting up is a breeze, price is really cheap, it does for you most of what you would have done anyway. There is no service like it that's very user-friendly, cheap and also extremely powerful.

Cons

Their pricing can be a bit hard to track and follow at times, but for most use-cases, it's really cheap anyways, and they have been improving resources around pricing a lot recently.

### "Best Hosting app"

August 31, 2022

5.0

Pros

The most interesting thing about Netlify is the way they help you to connect to different source code control apps like GitHub and GitLab so that you code can be deployed from their immediately.

Cons

Netlify tries to do everything as better as they can. But one thing they can improve is the way of showing errors to users. They have to give much details about an error.

### "Super user friendly!"

February 22, 2024

5.0

Pros

Very easy sign-up process and getting a functioning app running! Couldn't believe how little effort it took to get exactly what I needed -- a link to my application that I can embed elsewhere for users to access. I tried Vercel first, and they made the sign-up process complicated. After verifying my email already, they told me I needed further verification. Netlify made it so much simpler!

Cons

Nothing negative to say about Netlify! Working well for me.

### "This is what all web hosting needs to be"

December 10, 2019

5.0

Overall, I still love netlify. Everything is easy, it's truly a pleasure and a total game changer / distruptor.

Pros

Web hosting has been the plague of the industry for years. Companies, especially those owned by EIG, have been ripping off customers left and right by offering garbage servers, garbage support, and features that should be standard as upsells. Netlify changes all of that. Deployment is seamless, build processes are smooth, everything is just so simple and it all works so well, it's fast, their free tier is too generous, and I will gladly be a paying customer for years!

Cons

My one and only gripe is that the logging sucks, I have a front-end application/static site that I tried hosting on netlify, for whatever reason only on netlify it throws an error and doesn't work. It works on other competitors hosting, I've found some references to similar issues online, but no help anywhere, and the logs for the errors are no help at all.

### "Misleading web form with automatic plan change"

August 15, 2022

Very bad and misleading feeling

Pros

Website build is ok but some build features not supported and need to adjust builds overtime which is not so good

Cons

Scam web form - after using their web forms for couple of months, they are flooded with spam bots then you reach the limit and they automatically change the plan and forcing you to add credit card - if you don't provide they will remove all your websites please be careful with it - and no spam prevention worked on this web forms

Reason for choosing Netlify

### "Just a perfect tool for a developer to deploy his site."

August 23, 2022

5.0

Netlify literally helped me get my first job. I was able to showcase my works which I had hosted using Netlify. It's easy CI/CD helped me not worry about the hassle of deploying my code manually everytime I made some changes.

Pros

It is very easy to get started with the site deployment process. You just have to set up your repository then let Netlify handle the rest. I also like the fact that your changes to your repository are automatically deployed.

Cons

From my experience it cannot be used to deploy your backends, it only supports front end deployment or static sites.

### "Easiest way to setup CI/CD for your projects"

June 10, 2022

5.0

My overall experience with Netlify has been really good. I've been using it since my college days to deploy my hobby projects and it's only improved with time. They also have a very generous free plan which has you covered for all your small-size projects.

Pros

Netlify makes it super easy to deploy any web project. You just connect your GitHub acct, select the project, and voila you have a website up and running. It also automatically triggers a new build whenever you push new updates to the GitHub repository. It gives you a private URL for your projects, form integration, support for custom URLs, Netlify DNS, access control, and a bunch of other features.

Cons

The pricing is a little bit on the higher side. You can handle similar traffic on other platforms at 1/5th the cost.

Alternatives considered

[Heroku](https://www.capterra.com/p/158191/Heroku/)

Reason for choosing Netlify

We chose Netlify because our use case was simple and we didn't expect a lot of traffic. The generous free plan played a key role in the decision-making process.

### "Deploy from Git with ease"

May 13, 2021

5.0

I enjoy using this service to quickly prototype front-ends and deliver them

Pros

Netlify works as advertised, you don't have to know about DevOps handling or anything to do with cloud hosting. You can deploy your static apps right from your hosting provider, whether it is Gitlab or Github, it just works. The starting price is also free so you can deploy your multiple projects for free and have a custom domain, these are features I really enjoy, just simplicity at its best.

Cons

So far I haven't really found something I didn't like about Netlify, they are doing their best to push the Jamstack tech ahead and this is great.

### "Creating new websites with Netlify."

February 8, 2018

5.0

I migrated all of my small / personal web projects and passed almost all back-end work to Netlify while remaining a developer with the ability to customize back-end functionality. Now creating, testing, experimenting. I will propose / recommend Netlify to my new clients.

Pros

1\. Opensource. 2. All-in-one (Full stack) / JAM stack. Accumulated very useful features in one central place for site maintenance. 3. Innovative. 4. Continuous deployment. 5. Github / Let's Encrypt (SSL/TLS) integrations. 6. Very flexible. 7. WIP / experimental. 8. Pricing / Free plan. 9. Serverless and headless cms (Contentful) integrations. 10. Has its own pluggable Netlify CMS. 11. Testing / preview pand optimizations. 12. Intuitive and simple to use. 13. "even more / even better".

Cons

I have nothing to say about the disadvantages of using netlify, especially for small and even medium-sized web projects, except that some functions are still on testing or beta.

### "I would give more stars for ease of deployment if there was any"

September 29, 2020

5.0

I am simply impressed with the easy of deployment for new apps. With the trend of single page apps and more focus on the frontend development, netlify will become more and more popular.

Pros

Had to build something quick for marketing purpose. Used to use heroku for small apps, but since this only has frontend react js code, so I gave netlify a try, and I was simply amazed by how simple and at the same time flexible on how to deploy an app. After connected to github, and with just a few click to setup project build and domain, the site is ready. It also has other supports for plugins, and collaborations. It has basically everything I could have asked for.

Cons

To be honest, I can't think of any. The paid version covers more features that I may need in the future. So far I've used the business version for the RBAC. I think pricing is ok, but would be nice if it is cheaper.

### "Bringing back static sites"

April 30, 2019

5.0

Pros

It takes a lot of effort to convince your clients that static sites are not dead and that their back in the game, I started with Netlify soon after I started developing sites with static sites generators like Hugo and Jekyll. The main problem with those generators is a CMS-like editing feature and the deployment of your changes. Netlify has made it possible, they have their own CMS integrable with most of the static site generators and the deployment is a breeze, just connect your repository with Netlify and the site will deploy automatically for every commit. With that you have a CMS where your non-tech savvy clients can upload their content, an instant deploy and the speed and security of the static sites. Last but not least you can deploy every branch you a custom subdomain, branch.yourdomain.com for example. How cool is that! Their build logs are really helpful to find what went wrong and their support was awesome, even on their free plan.

Cons

Overall I have no reals cons to say. It just does what it promises.
