Pros: Easy and flexible setup; consistently clear design. Can use basic functions without tripping over the advanced ones, and can gradually add feature/function for a smooth transition from beginner to power user.

I also like the way you have color-keyed the function buttons to the main color on functional screens. A nice visual orientation cue!

Cons: I worked full-time in the design profession for 17 years, so this is a 'studied' critique:

There is a lot of market pressure for tech products to follow design trends. Unfortunately, design trends often are based on designers designing for other designers -- which tends to leave certain kinds of user needs out in the cold. One of the most common of these 'orphaned' needs is the need for contrast and clarity. Nutshell's UI gets high marks in my book for uncluttered design and common-sense functionality. But as people get older, it gradually becomes harder to distinguish low-contrast elements in a design. Contrast (and color, of course) also can be used (and is used to a degree in Nutshell) to 'lead the eye to where the action is. ' My suggestions for improving the main user screen are these:

1) Search Everything is, by definition, a key feature -- it should have a STRONG presence, instead of looking almost greyed-out.

2) Use bolder and slightly larger text throughout. To a degree, weight and size will compensate for lack of contrast -- and without cluttering the layout.

Overall: It's CRM that actually is liked and used!

Pros: We explored a number of CRM solutions and initially selected Insightly after trying to get Tiger CRM working. Insightly functionality was too limiting and consequently was not being used. Our second round of trials lead us to Nutshell, which we have been using for about two years.

We found Nutshell to be reasonably robust and easy to use. We have been using it for about two years now. We have about 30,000 contacts and 11,000 companies.

Cons: We are now running into some functional issues which we have to address with addons, including Mailjet for email campaigns and Zapier for data transfer. The lack of a quoting interface, manual address entry into Quickbooks, lack of phone integration, and incomplete email integration. With the exception of QB integration, the other functions can be addressed with more addons. By the time we get done adding on the functional holes, the price becomes quite high.

The reliance on addons also means that the system becomes unwieldy; a different system, management interface, and subscription for each function.

At this time, I don't think there is a good solution for QB integration at all. This may not be significant since QB for Manufacturing is below our needs anyway. Our next step may be to use PostBooks, Xtuple, or some other MRP system that includes CRM. But, those also carry their own management burdens and costs.

Nutshell does have a reasonable email interface to send correspondence through our IMAP server, but the markup tags are cumbersome, are error prone, has no CC or BCC field, and the reply emails don't populate under the Nutshell customer(s). Consequently, only half of the conversation is visible. Of all of the above, this is the most significant limitation at this point.

Overall: Consolidated location for prospects and communication history.

Pros: Nutshell offers a unique ability to tag people in activities and run reports on calling activities for my sales reps.

Cons: Every lead typically has a company or contact. But if you don't save the activity in the lead, and instead under the company or individual contact, you can't see it when your client calls in regarding the sale they want service for, so your customer service is hindered and your sales people look like they don't know the history of the account. It's embarrassing to use this software because Nutshell says they are only helping to land the sale, not support it, but this mindset about how they build their software results in a horrible disconnect with regards to how we are forced to serve our customers, and thus we are using a CRM that doesn't support the full life cycle of a sale. We keep hoping Nutshell will fix this and improve because their customer service is great, and their people mean well, but after several years of patiently waiting, we are concerned that we may never see this problem fixed. The mobile app also has so many glitches with the UX that it can't even compare the experience to how you can use leads in a web browser. Further, when we have a customer call in to ask about their account, the recent leads puts the oldest first in the list, which means we have to scroll through several hundred orders just to open the last order we did for that client. If you are trying to sell to a major corporate account with multiple facilities / departments, forget it with Nutshell; linking subcompanies / vendors / partners / other locations is a nightmare in Nutshell.

Overall: We get a cost effective CRM that frees up cash flow for use elsewhere in our business.

Nutshell is overall a great CRM that incorporates good features and provides great customer service

Pros: I appreciate the constant updates. Nutshell has some ways to come, so it is nice seeing changes be made. Customer service is always on spot and very friendly. Nutshell support page is great for new employees, referring them straight to there for advice. The adaptability & usability of the interface is very user friendly.

Cons: I have been using this software since October of 2014. So far, I think what needs to be implemented on the "Admin/SetUp side" is making sure Products, Reasons why Leads Close, the Sales Process Competitors, and so much more need to be added from the start with Nutshell and the business buying the service. The reason being is because over the last two years, slowly things have been added/removed/changed. So now we have 2 years worth of jumbled data IMO. Going through a thousand leads that only a handful of them have tags on to find out why something was closed via notes or what product was sold is a little silly. I think the setup process should include this for the end user (being our company). Mind you, I was not the one to set up the account with Nutshell so I am unsure if this is something offered, but It helps a lot when running reports on products, etc.

Pros: I like that it holds all the information for my accounts and that I can set reminders for phone calls.

Cons: I wish everything on the lead for a shop page showed up on the store page, i'm always having to flip from page to page to get a name and it seems redundant and time consuming to re input that information everytime I start a new lead when I just put it on the store page. Same with logged activities, I often have an activity on an account and then I have to put one on the lead I wish the activity showed up on both. For my use all calls are for the same purpose and it doesn't make sense to have two places to put independent activities. This creates a sense of Deja Vu or worse I call someone a second time and don't realize until they pick up which hurts my cause. I don't like that I have to assign a time to a phone call, my days are hectic and I can't keep to a strict schedule so things slip into unlogged activities and go missed and my day seems way more hectic than it is. I wish it was just a daily list so I could let my day evolve, I also do CS and warranty at my job so this time stamp constantly makes me feel behind the gun and I spend a lot of time just updated and re-organizing nutshell, time that I should be spending selling.

Pros: I like that's it's web based, and that it can store information about my clients. That's really about it.

Cons: I dislike very much that I cannot search using CTRL + F for stuff on a clients page. I'll have a lot to look though and I'll want to search for a specific word, say "lunch" or "meeting." I cannot search for these words. Instead it just pulls up the search bar for people. Very unuseful for a CRM....

I really hate that when I do search, it rarely finds me what I need, and almost never quickly. It's difficult to find phone numbers, if I search someone's name, it'll pull up everyone's not CLOSE to what I'm search for, but somehow not the specific person....

My daily tasks somehow get clogged by what is in the leads... perhaps there's a way around this, but I haven't found it yet. I can't really rely on tasks or to-dos with Nutshell, so I use Trello for that.

I can mostly use Nutshell for just storing stuff about my clients, and even then finding that information months later is not very easy, frustrating and not very helpful.

Overall: It stores information about my clients. (Though it's not easy to get or use that information later on.)

Pros: UI is getting much better in general, and the software has always been quite reliable (rarely down or broken).

Cons: 1. Can't duplicate leads (we have customers that renew annually - I have to create new leads with all of the information each time)

2. Can't type an actual date in (must pick it) - every time I create a new lead for an annual subscription in the future, I have to click 12 times to get to the right month. Doing this for 20-30 leads makes my hand want to fall off

3. Hard to add future subscription leads - if we sell a monthly subscription for our product, we have to manually create 12 leads each year. Very time-consuming.

4. Editing contacts should be possible in-line. You can add emails/phone, but changing title and other items require you to leave the lead and go to the full contact form.

5. I preferred the older 'create lead' form which was the full page. The new one is less productive because you have to fill it out, then go the full page version and finish all of the items that were missing in the pop-up version.

6. Pro version cost. We don't need anything from Pro except the funnel report for only one user. To get that it would require all users going pro and increasing our cost by 4x which isn't possible.

Overall: Better tracking of our forecast and contacts.

Pros: Easy to set appointments and track who I have talked with and what we talked about and set follow up calls/appointments. The reports are a good tool for staying on track with my efforts/results. I've only had one experience with customer support but when I did they responded very quickly and had me back working in a very reasonable amount of time.

Cons: For what I use the software for there really are not any cons. I am an end user so I primarily use it for setting/following up/tracking my daily calls and contacts. I guess on the computer side the only negative I would say is the search engine is very fickle, sometimes you can put in specific words and you get some crazy thing that has nothing to do with the company or person your looking for and then you can misspell what your looking for and get exactly what you want.

I will say that the app for my HTC phone is somewhat lacking. I can set appointments just fine and log calls/emails but the searching for a certain person or company is very very limited

Pros: We love process management with Nutshell. It helps with our initial sales/setup process, and is very customizable. Nutshell is also fairly logical in its approach to content and is visually appealing.

Cons: We find it is a little too oriented towards "pure" sales teams (we have mixed teams with product, customer service, sales, etc all done by the same groups of people).

Mostly, though, we find there are really small but highly irritating bugs or issues. For example, If I start typing a reply to a message that shows up in Nutshell and then click to show more details on the original message, my reply disappears.

Another example is that we also see some messiness in how to-dos are handled they show up in my list to-do list even though the step isn't active, or they persist after the lead is closed. Email notifications are spotty or not ideally timed. I provided feedback on this some time ago, but I don't think correcting that is particularly high on the improvements list.

A third example is that we work with a number of businesses that have different regional units Nutshell has no support for this, so it is hard to keep our companies list clean. We have lots of duplicate companies.

Look forward daily toward using nutshell, since I've been able to make it work for me successfully!

Pros: First and foremost, nutshell has a #1 Customer Service Team! This, in my opinion, is the sole driving force toward effective sales on the part of its users, regardless of the platform/system being used. Then I would add a few other benefits; 1. lead page shows important info all at one glance, 2. availability to search everything (albeit, excluding info logged in the activities section by each individual user), 3. fast input of info when saving info, and many other specific features you've built into the nutshell system.

Cons: why not build an automatic clock, showing the time the caller is calling into lead location, maybe next to a number lead. additionally, you would raise the value of your product substantially if you were to build a functionality that allowed a search of the words in the activities (message) section of your lead page. this would allow users an ability to quickly zero in on valuable leads based on previous messages noted. just think when users leave or when their leads are reassigned to different users, how valuable a tool that would be to follow up on hot leads that need to be brought to a close.

Overall: many successful placements!

Pros: Ease of use, backed up by powerful tools. Tracks your calls and even can be set to remind you to contact customers that you haven't talked to in a while. Favorite part is the Keep in touch. It plans my day and my call backs flawlessly.

Cons: I would like to see a visual overlay of all my customers on a map. That way when I am planning a trip I don't miss any customers that are off the main roads. Will give me a visual to help plan. Or some way to plan a road trip and Nutshell will show me all the customers I should contact on the way and plan route. Which can be transferred over to gps software like enroute.

Overall: It allows me to easily keep track of everything. What sales I am working on. What customers I need to contact. And everything is conveniently located to work with ease.

In the two months of implimentation already seen a growth in sales and productivity. Including our first ever RFQ from our website.

Pros: It is pretty easy to get up to speed with the software which has been a nice feature for our organization as we've had multiple people needing to use Nutshell...the reporting and tags have been really helpful..I run a lot of custom reports and using the tag feature on a daily basis.

Cons: It has been challenging to be able to connect with support staff about a technical issue. About a year ago, I really enjoyed being able to message with support staff if I had a question..now it seems like I have to wait a day or two for an automated email reply with some links to some possibly related topics of interest.. my questions can be fairly technical and multi-faceted where either use of messaging or simply talking to another human would be more beneficial.

Overall: Nutshell allows a very small company like ours to manage all of our leads and clients in a manner that would be quite challenging without the software. We are a very unique business in a niche industry and Nutshell adapts very well to our needs.

Like the simplicity. Most improvements recently have added complexity but little benefit for us.

Pros: Ease of use for a small business with a few people doing sales work. We didn't need all of the bells and whistles of Salesforce at the cost of complexity. As of a few years ago, you had plugged most of the holes that we cared about. Since then, new functionality or major new rewrites have either added complexity or relearning with little apparent benefit. I understand the need to do some of this but I hope you don't become Salesforce.

Cons: The LinkedIn connection is really important for us. It was a big relief when that came back. Also, the loss of historical record of communication for a Contact when you delete an old email is problematic. We are forced to retain all of these old emails and this can create confusion.

Pros: Lead tracking and value of leads. Notification of wins. The reporting oand tracking of activities. I like to set activities up as different campaign. It is great for tracking the success of different sales campaign.

Cons: The App!!! Can't move a lead along the stages using Android. And you need to schedule an activity instead of logging an activity. The idea of logging is an activity is log what you just did. It is great on the desk top version. But on the App, the user finishes a cold call ..hops into their car and needs to schedule the activity the log it! I have complained about this for years. Nutshell team does not seem to understand how on road sales reps work. Very frustrating!

Overall: Seeing activities of sales people and success of campaigns

Pros: Cost, Flexibility, API, Reports. Customer service has been responsive, but most of the time its "wait and try again in a while"

Cons: we use the dashboard heavily as a team, and the new homescreen layout has made things a little more difficult. We still have issues where items will not "check off" from time to time, or duplicate to-dos from the same process appear. This has decreased since the new layout launched, and I was in contact daily with a customer service rep at that point.

The biggest ongoing issue is that the "to-do" items for leads are now harder to get to. You have to select to-do specifically because it defaults to Activities, and then for it to be useful for us, we need to select "only steps with due times" to avoid having cancelled leads etc. show up. I also re-arrange the panes every morning so that the to-do is the majority of the screen. I'd prefer being able to select a permanent layout instead of re-doing it every day.

Pros: The main "pro" is the price. Not only it is cheaper compared to 20+ other CRMs I compared before deciding, it is also flexible to go either for Monthly or Annual payment. I can easily add and delete users without any paperwork.

Cons: Forecast tool (not flexible for setting up team, currencies, product, week/month split). This has made me totally avoid the forecast and budget (KPIs) feature, which is a shame as the new Sales Report is a step in the right direction. Hopefully the Forecast settings can be more flexible as well, then Nutshell will become a 5 star CRM Software.

Overall: Full control of Sales activities and revenue pipeline in the whole company. For the Sales Manager's they can easy follow their team and individuals performance with just a click on a button really.

Pros: Love the integration with 3rd party programs like mail chimp and any other automation systems.

Cons: iOS app needs some more tweaking with being able to have the little blue bubble on activities when viewing activities from the activity menu or when viewing activities on the account info page. You only get the blue bubble if you go to the customer timeline and find the activity, or from the notifications menu. The blue bubble for conversations on activities should be available everywhere you can access an activity.

Overall: Have been using Nutshell over the past 2 years and looking forward to many more. Have been through some growing pains with updates, but the bugs eventually get fixed. The Support team is awesome and are always helpful and very responsive. Nutshell has taken place of my company communication which has replaced email and texting.

Recommendations to other buyers: Have youtube videos demonstrating updates you make on the software (desktop and mobile) so we can see how the updates work and can review them as many times or distribute them as needed.

Nutshell has been a necessity for our business.

Pros: The Dashboard is amazing for keeping up to date on the happenings in Sales. I also really appreciate the Wallboard(summary of sales that month) as we google cast it to your TV in our kitchen. The sales process functionality ensures all leads go through a standard sales process. Really good stuff. We're really glad to have supported Nutshell all these years.

Cons: SaaS support. I'm still not able to find CRM software that is geared towards SaaS companies. Seeing as Nutshell is a SaaS company I'm surprised they haven't added support for this yet. Once a lead is marked as one, you can't have steps in the sales process (mail a welcome package, follow-up after 2 weeks, 1 month, ask for an online review ;P) You have to manually create these tasks. Instead we've had to utilize Zapier to add a task to Asana for this. I wish we could do it all in Nutshell.

Overall: Organization across sales, support, and billing.

Pros: Nutshell is amongst the easiest to use CRM out there and I have been chanced to try out a few over the years. Nutshell is cool to use from the perspective of user experience and even setup time.

Unlike most other CRM , Nutshell does not require a consultant to begin using Nutshell in any sales departments , thanks to the free on-boarding assistance offered users by the Nutshell team.

As a Nutshell user,I am able to visualize the most vital and current information about every lead our sales team communicate with.I am able to scan business cards , and synchronize my phone contact list with nutshell, thereby increasing our lead base.

I like its support for mobile,and this has made it possible for me to manage sales pipeline, pull up client contacts , and get notification on every deal right from my smartphone.

Cons: I will like to be able to rearrange the dashboard ,as there are one or two things on there which creates no value for me and my team.

Pros: Nutshell has a reasonably simple interface to use. There has been enough ability to customise the platform to get it to show some of the data/reporting information I needed.

Cons: The new reporting format is a really poor user experience, putting irrelevant information front and center and making it harder to access the custom set-ups I need to make Nutshell work for me. I had high hopes that Nutshell would continue to improve from its base, however, I haven't seen any signs of a good update to the platform in the last 6-12 months. We are now in the process of evaluating other platforms to move away from Nutshell. Missing major functionality to make it useful.

Pros: It's an easy software to learn, but Pro is too short because there just aren't any real pro's for our use, but to change would be a nightmare, so we continue in hopes to see improvement.

Cons: Would be nice if you could see the "Owner" of the account on the lead no matter who starts the lead - It's constant going back and forth when you have to pay people by commission sales. The search engine could be improved to pickup on Not Exact entries.

It would be nice to see "ALL" the notes regardless if your in a lead or on the main page.

Overall: Still waiting to see for the most part - It is a good software to manage people on their calling the customer. Easy Spying on daily use. Glad we are a micro company, can't imagine using Nutshell for 1000 employees

Pros: I really like the ease of use. It's very simplistic but a lot can be done with it. The program is pretty user friendly. Each user is able to customize their own views. Also, the customer service has been great. Not only are they quick to respond, but it's nice to know they take their users' suggestions and implement them if they are an improvement to the product.

Cons: Probably my one complaint would be that if you choose 'phone number' as one of your columns to display, it chooses the first number under that profile which could be a fax number or mobile number and then the display simply shows up as 'phone number'. It would be nice to be able to choose to show the different kinds of phone numbers.

Overall: Easy to track our contacts and sales leads. Great tool for management.

If there are multiple numbers associated with the contact, simply star the one you wish to be the default. Pros: The phone App is fairly strong. That I can call and have calls tracked from my phone App. That I know when an email I have sent through Nutshell is opened. There is quick and easy access to all Companies, People and Leads through the search function. That there is a reasonable degree of customization that can occur with Nutshell.

Cons: I am very disappointed that Nutshell does not integrate with my Google contacts as this requires me to double entry contacts, arg. I am also very disappointed in the non existent formatting within Nutshell email. In order for me to track whether an email is opened, I have to send it via Nutshell, hence I lose all ability to format good emails.

Overall: Ease of phone calling from the Nutshell App. Tracking of opened emails sent from Nutshell. Ease of access to Customer data through the search function.

Pros: Keep track of daily follow ups - and record entire history with contacts. Basic CRM stuff it does well.

Cons: 1. Where did the Gmail Gadget go? This was the best feature and now it's gone. :(

2. The relationship between the Lead and the Customer can be confusing...

3. Reporting for specific items can be challenging as well.

Overall: Used Nutshell for 2 years .. .... ..... ... .managing daily sales processes and contacts.

Pros: Interface is fairly clean. Price is reasonable. Kind staff. Good Midwestern folk are a nice break from Silicon Valley types. Attempt to be progressive is appreciated.

Cons: Missing obvious reports like a weighted pipeline. Customization with reports is limited.

Integration with Google and Mailchimp in particular feels lighter than what would be ideal. Built-in mail campaigns lack quality formatting options and attachments. Support is very slow to respond. I've watched the service get worse over time.

Pros: This software is easy to use! I didn't have any clue what "CRM" was, and many of the programs I was looking at required a business background to decode the user manual. Nutshell was intuitive. Knowing how to use my I-Phone and Facebook seemed to be the only background I needed to get started! I have all my clients in Nutshell now. I track what they buy, what classes they take through our company, and what they are likely to buy next. I send e-mails to clients every time they order that are customized to tell them what to buy next. All of this was easy to set up through the Nutshell software!

Cons: The only thing I would consider adding to Nutshell is a place to list what they purchased and a place to list what training they have received (other than in notes).

Pros: Mobile app so I have my contact info with me. I have only been using as a simple contact database manager and I know it can do so much more. I need to spend time making sure I understand and use it to the full potential within my needs!

Cons: Had issue with dialing out that took quite a while to fix (when I hit dial on my mobile phone it would add a bunch of numbers which did not let it dial). I spoke to customer care about this and it took a little time and effort to get them to understand and then I would say it took a few months before someone fixes the bug. Another issue is that on the mobile device the contacts are alphabetized automatically but on the desktop version this does not happen? Have mentioned to customer care but no response. Cannot add more than 30 company types? I use this field to help categorize my contacts. Why just 30?

Overall: Helps me to keep pertinent info on my contacts. I know there are more that I can do with the software but so far I don't

Pros: - Straightforward interface; easy to train new people

- The ability to import emails via "bcc@nutshell.com" to keep track of conversations and relationships across many offices

- Easy to bulk upload or update contacts or companies with tags

- Thoughtful reports

- Generally responsive customer support team

- The 'merge duplicates' feature is very helpful

Cons: - We have leads open in 2+ currencies and for a while now, the reports have not been converting the amounts into one estimated total in a single currency correctly -- therefore, instead of using the (nice!) built in reports, I am still having to export all the data and do the conversion myself and create the reports again in Excel. If this bug were fixed we would definitely use the reporting feature more often!

Good system but still needs a few tweaks to become great.

Pros: Keeping notes and prospect lists organized, as well as being able to schedule calls out to a future date. The system is good and keeps getting better but still needs some tweaks.

Cons: I HATE how you cannot move a whole day of calls over to the next day with one click (like a "select all" button). If I get behind, so I do not forget about them, I have to click on each call and manually move it to the next day (and sometimes I have 13-30 calls scheduled). Huge waste of time. All you need is a "select all" for that days calls and have the ability to move them all to a future day with one click.

Overall: Organizing prospect lists and notes, as well as scheduling calls.

Pros: I like the ease of navigation, and the timeline for each lead page. The template portion is a real time-saver and help.

Cons: The leads list is very frustrating. If I want to follow up on my leads, I want to know how many emails only I have sent. I don't need to know the total emails that includes what others have sent. Now I have to open the lead page to see what and how many emails I have sent to that lead. It is especially time-consuming, as it prevents me from doing a group/mass email, not knowing what kind of email has previously been sent out by me. Also, when I click on "send an email" it would be helpful if all the email addresses for that one lead were automatically included. Also, make all the email addresses visible on the sidebar without having to hover over the blue people card.

Overall: Good tracking of process and progress on individual contacts or leads.

4. When sending emails, would be helpful to have a {Lead} field, ability to add an attachment and no reason to attach last email to all 'Leads' associated for that Person, just attach to their profile

Pros: The ability to automate tasks is pretty spectacular. I also very much appreciate the ability to make a call directly from the mobile app, log it, and make a note about what was discussed.

Cons: Besides the ability to make phone calls and log them directly from the mobile app, I am very unhappy with it. I spend about half my time on the app and half my time on the website, and the ability to log tasks generated in my leads really needs to be in the mobile app for Nutshell to make a significant difference for me. I would also like the ability to tag people in task notes in addition to the current ability to tag people in general notes.

Overall: Nutshell helps me get more done in less time, plain and simple. Our business is centered around new sales and taking care of those clients we already have. Nutshell helps simplify our communication while also assisting us in making that communication more timely.

Pros: Easy migration from old CRM via CSV import. Activity management and to do lists keep users organized and on task. Integrated lead tracking and metrics help guide sales reps through the sales process. Ability to link with Google Suite is a definite plus.

Cons: I would love to see Nutshell offer integrations to more third-party apps. For instance, we use Reply.io for e-mail campaigns and there is no direct connection to Nutshell. It's not a huge deal, but would be even better if Nutshell and Reply.io worked together.

Overall: We previously used a locally-installed, server-based CRM (Goldmine), which was very functional but completely not portable. Migrating to Nutshell allows for easy remote access from anywhere an Internet connection can be found. And in this day in age, that's of the utmost importance. We also used to keep a bunch of Excel spreadsheets for sales tracking, pipeline management, and customer details, all of which have now been replaced by Nutshell's standard functionality.

Pros: Ease of use. Searching is speedy and the interface is well thought out. There's a lot of customization available and marketing to my customers is easy with templates.

Cons: Lack of integration to pull in address data. It would be helpful to me if it could integrate with Linked IN and find and pull in address, email, phone and other data for prospective customers instead of requiring me to copy/paste or type in the data.

Pros: Nutshell has been great for our software firm as it grew from a startup to a mid-market company. Nutshell is very similar to us in age, culture, feature philosophy, etc. so I always enjoy interacting with the team. The Support (via chat and email) is excellent and they are always willing to hear new feature ideas and requests. The affordability makes it a great first CRM for new and small businesses.

Cons: Importing can sometimes result in a lot of duplicate leads, so data cleanliness becomes a bit of an issue as you grow. Reporting has some room to grow but it's not too bad right now.

Overall: New sales people are able to jump right in with minimal training. Workflows are customizable, and tracking prospect information is a breeze.

We have used Nutshell with great success. It's a fantastic, user-friendly CRM.

Pros: Nutshell has everything that's really necessary without requiring a lot of time-stinking busywork. It works well for one person, semi-independent collaboration, and for teams. Also has great integrations, but probably its best feature is its flexibility.

Cons: I wish we did not have to visit setup to create a new product and then go back to the lead to add it. All our leads require products and all the products are one of a kind, so it's the only hiccup in an otherwise completely smooth process.

Overall: Nutshell has been instrumental in growing the business from a start-up to a team of 8 in 18 months. Nutshell's flexibility, reasonable cost, and customizable sales processes all contributed to our growth. I'd even go so far as to say this CRM shaped the way we do business and think about sales.

Pros: The layout is great and easy to use. The support page has all of the information we need to find out how to complete a specific task.

Cons: When entering in a customer account, the app will erase the letters while you're typing. We are also experiencing a problem after logging activity the app will delete all of the information we are logging. I live in Ann Arbor and have asked to meet in person several times and the answer is always no. I need to know these problems can be fixed.

Pros: Nutshell is extremely easy to implement and has all the basic features you need to get a CRM up and running . It is awesome for anywhere from 1 - 1000 customers. Integration with email is easy. Phone app is great especially when making calls from it to customers so you can log that the call happened. Collaboration with your team is seamless.

Cons: Nutshell does lack some of the more indepth automation features that you can get in a Salesforce, but it is far more affordable and doesn't require crazy setup. Their api is decent, but also has a little way to go for advanced integration. Nutshell also isn't the best choice for thousands of customers because it is hard to manage.

Overall: We were able to track progress with our customers far easier. It brought our entire sales team together to manage relationships and make sure we were following up on sales.

Switched from SalesForce. Has everything I need and want in an easy-to use format.

Pros: I can access my data from any device on the go, at a trade show, or anywhere in addition to daily use in the Mac App or in an open browser window. It always responds fast and is well organized.

Cons: I wish it could easily harvest customer info from Linked In or other sites. I find a lot of my new potential customers on Linked In and end up doing a lot of copy/past of company and contact information. I wish there were a way to do that faster.

Pros: Flexebility and Customization are one of the big pros.

The dashboard has improved a lot since one year ago.

Cons: The repports are weak, at least in the version that we use.

It seams that in the pro version there is more features, and more complete repports. I was mad when I saw for the first time that a Pro version have been lauched with features that we were dreaming to have, and that it wasnt included in our version. When we signed Nutshell we got the top version beleving that it was a great cost benefit. Having some special features in a more expensive version after that wasn't good. And at that time nobody even offered us a trial of the Pros features.

Nutshell has been a good addition to our business.

Pros: The updated and modern look of all the icons and images was a great add on. We are also excited to take advantage of the updated reporting capabilities as well.

Cons: How leads have to be added into the system. Before an update was done, the company information (address, phone, etc) and the person information (address, phone, etc) was able to be added directly when creating the lead. Now the lead must be generated first and only the company name and person name can be added at time of creation. You have to then go back and add all other information for the company and person after. VERY tedious and frustrating this process was changed.

Pros: Simple to use ie simpler to TRAIN reps, simpler for them to adopt. Flexibility - so one person can be attached to different products and leads and accounts. Can lift out lists for marketing easily.

You are a small responsive independent company.

Cons: There is no easy way to manage accounts. Much of our revenue comes from recurring revenues from customers. We need to be able to develop customers. So selling more product to a customer (either new products same customer or increased use of product). Nutshell doesn't allow us to manage these "accounts" very well. To do this really well you'd need to use your open APIs to tie into our accounts package.

Training and support sucks. We are on Australian time zone, and you guys are always shut when you need it. REALLY need good training programs.

Nobody has heard of nutshell! Its a well kept secret strong product.

Pros: Not much. There are no redeeming qualities of this software. We're required to use it for work and keep our contacts in but it's impossible to use or find anything. A search for Jane Smith returns Demita Evans. A search for Apex returns Zyno. You can't search by position, the names are listed randomly, you can't put them in alphabetical order. I could go on forever.

Cons: It's so hard to use. The search function is completely ineffective. You can't sort or filter anything. I'd be better off with an Excel spreadsheet of company names and contacts.

Overall: Not much. I could keep my contacts in a spreadsheet and have more access to the data. I'd be able to search data more effectively. It's pretty bad all around.

Cons: Only con is the inability to remove someone (a contact) from a specific company they are linked to without entirely deleting them.

Overall: Ability to track and organize all aspects of our member company portfolio including activities, contact via email, in person and follow up. Makes my job much easier!

Good news, you can remove a contact from a specific company without deleting the contact. You can either go to the person page and remove the company or go to the company page and remove the person from the company. In both cases, the contact still exists but is no longer linked to the company. Please feel free to call our customer support team and they can walk you through the steps.

Pros: Great support, uncluttered, has features we need. This is the first CRM I have every used, so I have nothing to compare it to, but I was pretty comfortable with starting to use it. It is fairly intuitive even for someone that is not accustomed to CRM software. They have good tutorials and training information.

Cons: Every time I get it all figured out, they make updates and I have to keep figuring it out again and sometimes it takes awhile before i understand how it all works. ON the computer, I don't have as many problems with adjusting to the changes, but it is harder when using on the phone.

Overall: It made filling out the review quite easy

Overall it's positive. I know I can expect it to be working day to day.

Pros: How flexible it is for when we decide to track new customer information. The tag system and how people are connected to companies is rather nice.

Cons: How difficult it is to search for a customer or person by their phone number. Right now I have to create a temporary filter and enter the entire phone number in it to see if there's an entry and then have to do it again for people if the number wasn't recognized as a company.

The feature I want most is to be able to type in the last 4 digits of a phone number and see every person and company attached to that number.

No proper iPad app. No offline desktop apps. There was a feature I was missing on the iPhone app but can't remember what it is.

Overall: Multi-user contact sharing with phone app and SSB desktop app. Helps us track current customers and work with them more effectively.

I've loved Nutshell so much that I now use it for 2 of my companies & recommend to our customers.

Pros: Ease of use. Very straight forward. We don't need to send our salespeople to "Nutshell Camp" to learn how to use the product. Integrations are easy enough. The only thing I'd love to see is Gravity Forms (WordPress) integration. We could easily onboard more of our customers if that integration were available.

Cons: I would love to be able to share my email templates with the rest of the team. That way I could have my own, but also push new successful templates out to everyone else.

Overall: Internet marketing can be a long sales process. We went from closing in 120-150 days to around 21 days. Our revenues have almost doubled since implementing Nutshell 2 years ago.

Cons: I dont like that the relationship between the "Lead" and the "Business" is the way it is... I dont like that you have to make a Lead and a Business at the same time. It always seemed to me that a lead should be a lead until it turns into a customer (Business). It would make our lives easier if thats the way it was.

Pros: Lead view is good. Allows me to easily sort and prioritize opportunities. I am just writing additional words now to meet the minimum word count.

Cons: Search function is awful. I consistently cant find data I know Ive entered in before. Also I cant live out of the CRM like I shoud be able to. I have to manually enter calls and emails to track activities and there isnt a good categorization for people I want to follow up with but are not leads with monetary values assigned yet.

Pros: Nutshell has been a great fit for me in tracking all of my sales activities. This service is very easy to use and allows me to quickly retrieve key account or contact details to allow me to better service my prospects and customers. I appreciate the fact that it can be as simple or complex as you need it to be, meaning that every feature is not made into a field that you have to navigate even if you do not use them. All interaction with Nutshell staff has been very quick and efficient. They continue to roll out additional product features so you know that they are growing. The price for this service is very reasonable and I would certainly even pay more knowing the value that it has given my business.

Cons: Nutshell is still growing a little bit, so there are features that are still in the works for development or improvement. However, they communicate well on some of what they are working on so you know progress is being made.

Recommendations to other buyers: Contact users of any CRM to ask about their experiences or read plenty of reviews to get a good idea of how it might work for you. I talked with many sales professionals that use CRM¿s prior to investing my time and energy choosing and inputting all of my information, and I am glad that I did.

I really love nutshell and it has changed the way we run our operations on a daily basis.

Pros: I like the new data and sales reporting. It works very well for a manufacturing sales environment. I also really like the activity tracking, todo list tasks, and last contact. It is very easy to sort through areas with that, combines with map views and company/leads territory custom lists.

Cons: Leads and company note sharing- when you put notes in leads they don't show up in the company without at tag. Also the Mobile app is easy to use but the notes aren't as easy to access.

I would maybe add more annual planning details to help companies grow in addition to fiscal goals.

Another change that would be nice for larger databases would be last viewed columns, say you didn't email them etc it would be nice to know the last time called or time the account was reviewed by a particular user.

Pros: Easy to use, well organized, saves info into a dashboard, quick, efficient, could use more contrast and colors possibly?

Cons: That it freezes and doesn't sync activities on a calendar at least once to twice per week. And then all of a sudden after an hour and a half of nothing, it loads up all the activities to it. It's very frustrating! I try to disable it and enable again and save, and nothing usually works until IT (nutshell) decides to work.

Pros: The system is among the easiest I've ever had to use. The Customer Service is top notch. They get back to me in a timely manner and I do like the Chat box for help.

Cons: It's not as robust as other CRMs I've worked in, ex: SalesForce. Missing a lot of functionality for larger companies or teams to benefit from.

Pros: Nutshell is extremely easy to implement and has all the basic features you need. What we like most of using Nutshell is how easy it is to use, it keeps accurate reports and helps us keep track of our overall numbers and helps us keep accurate records of our customers. The service has a lot of integrates with other apps. I really love the integration with calendars and phone app. It allows me to easily keep track of everything. What sales I am working on. What customers I need to contact. And everything is conveniently located to work with ease. Nutshell CRM has all the tools to make a business more successful.

Cons: I would like to see a visual overlay of all my customers on a map. That way when I am planning a trip I don't miss any customers that are off the main roads. Also, I don't like that the email feature cannot handle attachments.

Pros: I like the timeline , but it would be great if there was a search box for the timeline. I like the simplicity of the program

Cons: You need more integration with different types of email clients not just your typical gmail. May want to look at way to start integrating with certain types of accounting softwares like quickbooks enterprise. Email campaigns.

Lastly you ios app needs work. it keeps flashing every time i'm looking for a contact, the notes sections sometimes cannot be read, its lacking some features from the desktop. I would like to see a map feature on the mobile app. I would like to for it to automatically record a call if wanted to.

Pros: Nutshell is insanely powerful in that it can be customized to your needs pretty heavily, and has some nice features like Outlook integrations and auto-population of contact info from LinkedIn/address books.

Having all email correspondence with leads auto-entered into Nutshell is a huge time saver, and is easily our most liked feature.

Cons: The UI can be a bit cluttered/clunky at times, and the lack of a well put together mobile app makes it a pain to use on mobile devices. We found ourselves often waiting until we got to a desktop to enter/update leads, which defeats the purpose of keeping the CRM always updated.

Overall: Nutshell helps all of our project managers and sales staff stay on the same page when either closing or nurturing leads after the point of closing. It also helps our staff manage communications and updates with leads with handy reminders letting you know to touch base with a lead every so often.

Cons: Your search engine sucks: when I'm searching a lead by typing its name, I can't find it. It's very annoying. I'm looking for different, more friendly stuff. Also, you are in different time zone, when I need help, when servers are down I have to wait hours for an answer, because you are probably sleeping when I'm working.

Pros: It's built in notification and notes system allows any salesperson to master their time management and keep a consistent reliable schedule, while maintaining accurate details of each client conversation to allow you to pick up right where you left off with any client.

Cons: It can be a bit glitchy at times, like any software, but to my knowledge it has never lost a single client profile across our entire company, making it reliable despite its flaws.

Pros: The calling feature allows recording of calls so it is easy to pick back up where you left of in a conversation with a prospect.

Cons: That you don't make it easier to line-up a bunch of people to call and then easily move through Calling while easily reviewing notes and information from your call / contact history. You can do this now but it takes a lot of clicking around. Can you package it. In Hubspot I could add people to a call list - set a time interval between calls - and it moves from one call to the next. Nutshell could do this.

Overall: Great contact mgmt for a good value

Pros: The software is easy to update so our entire company can stay up to date on proposal stage activities for any of our teams.

Cons: The software pulls unrelated information into a lead. Example: If I have a general email related to ACME Corp., as soon as I create a new lead with ACME Corp. that unrelated email shows up in the feed for the new lead.

Pros: Customizable for varying types of sales processes. Really love the mobile app.

Cons: It's small but to open with a Gmail account, you have to find it in the Gmail apps rather than there being a link on the login page of Nutshell that allows you to login through Gmail. Small but when I close my computer down it's a bit of a process to log back in.

Overall: Between the training that I received at the beginning and the ever-changing features that keep making things more seamless, I highly recommend Nutshell. Integrates great with Gmail, great mobile app for making adjustments on the go and the desktop platform is easy to use.

Pros: Ease of use. We introduced Nutshell about 1.5years ago to a team of 10 that had largely not used CRM systems in their careers. The adoption was quick and painless and now everyone is using it daily to manage all customers and leads. The importance of sharing all this information across the team, with such ease, is well recognized.

Cons: It has some limits on how you can format fields and customize their display. However, this has not really been a problem to our operation. I would also like it to send my schedule reminders to me through pop up alerts rather than me having to go to the dashboard.

Overall: Major improvement in the organization of our sales pursuits and shared customer database.

We signed up on a Beta unknowingly that the features could change and be taken away from us

Pros: The email integration is probably the best part! Not having to copy and paste all of our emails. I also really like that my boss and I have separate profiles so it is easy to see who has done who.

Cons: iPad & mobile apps - so not user friendly! Lead and Person separation. seems like too much! Would rather have one profile that I can add as many people as I need and not all the info be separated. Also, the crazy "Follow Up" feature - you can't click all day. Have had some crazy funk with the scheduling for sure. Still shows appointments that I either edited for a different date/time or deleted! We are all about feedback and have given constant feedback, but my boss doesn't necessarily feel heard.

Overall: We have all of our info in one spot which is nice and organized! Our last CRM randomly deleted our info which was so frustrating. We have not had that issue with this.

I would still recommend because it is a really good software. our company just doesn't need all the bells and whistles that it offers. I am sure it works great for plenty other companies.

Pros: I like the comparative ease of use and intuitive functionality such as the ability to scan business cards straight into the CRM via the smartphone app, and the quick 'Create' function. The reporting function appears to be very user friendly, although I would like training on how to make the reports bespoke to our requirements.

Cons: As a British company, presently focused only on the UK market, I dislike that the software is Americanised (e.g. dollar sign in pipeline, default markets etc). I also dislike that when creating a new lead for a company, adding a contact against the lead does not automatically propose contacts within the company against which the lead is being registered.

Overall: As a fast growing young company (from zero to GBP£19m in just 4 years), Nutshell provides us with a centralised contacts database and client relationship manager, and a platform on to which quotations can be stored, and leads progressed. We shall also use Nutshell to conduct marketing via the MailChimp integration.

Pros: Very pleased with the ease of use, functionality and value of the product. The Nutshell program is good at providing the information we need and simplifies the writing of notes, compares customer reports, communicates with potential customers and updates information so that we can turn these customers into paid customers. I set up my sales process and manage it, which helps me to be active in my work. Reports of the program save a huge amount of time, and the ability to track sales progress raises the level of work. There is an opportunity to track potential customers and the status of transactions.

Cons: I have no serious complaints. It would be nice if you could add the ability to log in from any device. I would like to be able to call on my phone. And so everything suits me.

Nutshell is adequate for entering client information, but needs more bandwidth in sorting data.

Pros: Being able to save emails using the bcc@nutshell.com in the blind copy. Ease of creating a company and or contact.

Cons: I hate that email document attachments cannot be captured when bcc'ing a client correspondence to nutshell.

I hate that I cannot easily create lists by city, state, country. Entering addresses is all a run on sentence.

I hate the way the tagging system works.

I hate the data import/export process is over complicated.

Pros: easy to use and integrate contact and schedule to google.

have mobile version and show everything clear.

Cons: the character "&" and Chinese character can not be recognized by import file.

It would be good when I can charge the lead assignee to someone , then it can give me a options to choose change the related company, person along the lead together to the same assignee.

Pros: Interface is intuitive and let you find anything very fast, the possibility of record audios it's great!

Cons: It could be better how to visualize the amount off real deals you expect to close. It will be nice to see how much money you may win on each stage of sales process (Check pipedrive software)

Pros: Nutshell is a web based customer relationship management program ,and this eliminates the hassle of setting up and maintaining software, which is a weak point of non - web based Legacy CRM programs. Nutshell meets all of our expectation ,and allows for multiple user access ,smartphone access and it is cross platform too.

Cons: It has been a bit of a challenge trying to find other programs which can natively be integrate with Nutshell,to improve our sales process.

Pros: I like the lead creation and flow, it's nice because it mimics a check list which is helpful to completing my processes with a new prospect.

Cons: The bcc functionality, if I recall from using sales force there were more ways to 'tag to salesforce' via email that were easy while emailing and after the fact.

I don't like that calls get logged to your google calendar after you take notes on them. Seems to clutter things up for no reason.

Overall: I find it very easy to use and integrate into your sales process. The system seems to be very users friendly as to where to find things. Minimal training was needed based on our companies 'sales flow'. The leads report is also very helpful.

Recommendations to other buyers: Not that I can think of.

Pros: I like the "explore" function on leads. This helps me see my progress through the year.

Cons: I wish we could send quotes and create orders in the lead. I think it would be a nice upgrade to have the software pull recommended customers that i can assign to the lead based on the area of the lead.

Pros: I had never used a CRM before, but yet I was able to set it up with ease. It is very intuitive. We have a lot of people on our team who have never used a CRM before and they catch on easily. I also love the integrations with google and our ticketing system.

Cons: Not all reporting features are available with the basic subscription - but enough are available that we don't need to upgrade.

Overall: A CRM that gets the job done without being complicated. Customer service is also excellent!

This is my company's first use with CRM system. I have been pleased with the experience.

Pros: The software makes it very easy to keep track of communication with each of our potential clients. Being able to email directly through the software is very convenient, compared to going back and forth through email. The functions of being able to add indiviuals and companies to each Lead is helpful as well rather than just 1 person/ company. As our sales will usually go through a couple chanels before final sale.

Cons: Mobile app feature is decent. It doesn't have all the functions as online. Such as adding notes or logging activities. This would be helpful when traveling to add at the same time of meeting or directly after, rather than needing to go to actually computer. Previously had some trouble finding the emails logged if I hadn't created the company/person before sending the email, but I believe this has been resolved recently. The stages of Leads doesn't neccesarily apply to our sales steps. We offer service and products and most of our Leads to do not follow the linear nature of stages.

Overall: Great customer service. Good price for small/ start up businesses & sales teams. Great management of timelines for contacting each customer.

Other CRM system would allow you to automatically forward activities in a group to the next day

Pros: Able to share activities with up to 2 additional users. Price per month per user seemed like a good deal 2 years ago but now price is adding up over the years

Cons: I sometimes cannot get to all my acitivities especially phone calls. It is quite laborious to manually edit each record and create a ne activity for the next day

Pros: Pricing and value; you don't try to put too much into the software. I don't need it to do 1000 things, just 100 things well

Cons: Constant changing has made things difficult. The removal of reports (or poor transfer of reports) with the new reporting structure has made existing data being reported out to management VERY difficult to obtain. You went for form over function with this latest update

Overall: Responsible for everything sales related internally. It is our backbone right now

Pros: The way that it tracks everything in a customer's file. Every action (as long as it is entered in Nutshell) is tracked by date.

Cons: There is no way that I am aware of to do a keyword search. For example, if I know I talked with a customer about buying balloons, there is no way to do a search for "balloons" and find out what date that was that I talked to him. This feature would make Nutshell nearly perfect for me.

Overall: The ability to keep tabs on customer interaction.

I really like nutshell in that it's appearance is clutter free, easy to understand and easy to use.

Pros: The ease of use. The layout is very functional and easy to use and understand. I love all the stats too.

Cons: We have a huge problem in the fact that when we send emails, a lot of times it puts someone else's name in the spot instead of the account we are under. I have no idea why that happens, but it's done it since we started with Nutshell. It's like it pulls another name from somewhere. Would love for that to be fixed so we can send emails easier. thanks.

Pros: Price, easy to navigate and add/change contacts. Easy to teach to other sales people and data people who upload our leads into it.

Cons: The phrase "must've been nice" when I don't have dates on that calendar day. Would also like to have an admin view of every user's calendar.

Overall: Flexible pricing- I can change number of users I am charged for monthly either up or down. We were easily able to figure out how to upload our leads and data into the system. The calendar functions are straight forward. We have experienced almost zero down time. Customer service is very responsive and nice to talk to. I haven't used a lot of the more sophisticated aspects but for a daily caller this is great.

Cons: Poor reporting, configured mainly for US, need for more paid expensive integrations to achieve booking confirmations (i.e. quote roller)

Pros: Nutshell has tons of great features that help you track progress of leads and keep up with contacts. We've been using it for a couple of years now and it's helped us manage our customer acquisition much better than our previous tool, Highrise.

Cons: The UX could be better. Even after the re-design, it takes a lot of guessing and focus to really know what a certain UI element is for. Needs more contrast and more defined boundaries between sections.

Once you get used to it, you're ok. But there is a lot of friction during the process of getting familiar with the platform.

Pros: Having nutshell available in the mobile version (on your phone) is great. Being able to collaborate is good.

Cons: You cannot print lists of companies, people, or territories. This seems like a very basic thing. You have to export your information to excel and manipulate the data to print what you want. Then, you have 2 areas (excel and nutshell) that you have to make changes to if you want to keep things updated. Quite disappointed with this.

Pros: Ease of creating reports, notifications, and ability to rope in multiple users on leads to keep everyone up to date. Love the customization of the sales process as well.

Cons: Exporting reports is not ideal for importing into email marketing solutions and email marketing integrations like MailChimp are fairly weak. (Can only import into a list, not a specific group in a list.) Integrations in general are lacking and may one day be the reason we move to a CRM that better integrations with Hubspot. Connecting data across People, Companies and Leads can also be frustrating - i.e. source does not transfer throughout, tags are different, etc.

Pros: It is fairly easy to use. It is a good started CRM. How they handle companies and leads is well done.

Cons: It is not very stable.

The software would often freeze on us and it would often crash.

It did not have an email directly from the CRM option which would have been nice.

Pros: The importing is wonderfully smooth. I often use the filtering function to narrow down locations geographically.

Comments: We have used Nutshell for about 3 years now. There have been some good improvements during this time that have made it an overall user-friendly and beneficial software. You can see all activities occur in real time, and Nutshell makes it very easy to keep track of sales and communication with customers and vendors. We were also able to connect this with our accounting software, Zoho Books - a huge plus. There are just some minor annoyances and general glitches that prevent me from being able to give the software a full 5 stars.

Very good. Updates have improved overall user-friendly experience.

Pros: The ease of which to track meetings, phone calls, emails. Being able to drop notes on each specific logged activity, and detailed lead management.

Cons: I don't like and the rest of the sales people don't like the sluggishness it provides at times. Glitches when loading in mobile app, and sometimes in personal computer use. We would like for it to be a bit smoother when being able to search for certain companies or people. Search engine can be very random when looking for someone or something very specific.

Pros: Colorful and easy to navigate - easy for legacy and new sales associates to use and get something out of it.

Cons: Search is terrible. If you don't know exactly what you're searching for, far too few results populate to make good decisions. Should be able to type query, press enter and get a list 20 results or more. If you have 12 leads with a company, the one you're looking for might not show up.

Also how you enter info - like adding a person to a lead. if you don't add their role or notes when creating the person, you can't add it later unless you exit the lead and update the person on their profile page - this should be an option in the pop-up quick edit window.

Overall: Ease of use compared to a zoho or salesforce.

Value for price/head.

Great way to manage and stay on top of leads and contacts!

Pros: Connection to Gmail via the Plugin. Inside the system.

Cons: Tasks and ToDos in the Dashboard view do not update in the list once they are updated in the task / todo

Sometimes the Gmail PlugIn does not recognize a contact so you cannot connect the mail

Pros: I use everyday to set appointments, keep track of customers, call back ect. .look up info and anything else i need to reference.

Cons: getting use to changes you make, i am not in the area of reports just a user daily, so i can only call in when something has changed to see how to use it.

Pros: Reminders so the leads don't fade with memory and the organization for all in the company. Plus it stores all the info on one project in one place and lets me duplicate that to other projects

Cons: The program seems to be more for small quick sales of specific items not long term development of sale of services which vary in cost for every client

The phone app is not easy to use.
