Pros: Backblaze runs in the background and engages in backups whenever your computer is connected to the internet. It is seamless and runs in the settings part of my Mac. Backblaze allows you to encrypt your backups with the key being held only by you. While this is one of those types of software that you hope you never need to use, if you do need it you can download your data from the internet OR request that they send you a USB drive or a external hard drive with your data on it. thus Backblaze is a pretty cheap component to add to your backup system. Backblaze is not meant to be your only backup. While it theoretically could be, it's best used as part of a system. I personally use external hard drives with TimeMachine in addition to Backblaze. Backblaze is my last resort; however, it is also the most complete of the backups since it does its thing constantly in the background. Even on the best of days, I'm only going to back on an external drive once a day. I highly recommend this program for anyone who cares about the data stored on their computers.

Cons: I honestly cannot say that there is anything I dislike about Backblaze. It's an inexpensive, non-obtrusive piece of software that simply does what it's supposed to do. If you use an encryption key that Backblaze is not storing for you DO NOT lose it under any circumstance or you will NEVER get your data back without it. This is only a "con" if you lose the key.

Overall: The benefit of knowing that my data is securely stored if my computer and my first line of backups fail. Lets face it, external hard drives can fail as easily as an internal hard drive. I certainly hope that I never have to recover my data in an emergency, but if I do, i feel better having made what I feel is a very reasonably priced purchase of this product.

Pros: Being able to have your entire database and archive in the cloud, automatically synching everyday, is a huge weight off of a company's shoulders. It's incredibly cheap for what you're receiving and the options to get your data back are very convenient.

Convenience is the key to Backblaze's success. A program runs in the background and is transferring your files in the middle of the night (or whenever you set it), ease of mind with no extra work. The setup is easy and takes minutes and the updates are informative.

Cons: One issue with Backblaze is you literally need to upload ALL of your data so depending on your ISP you may hit some data limit caps. I also found the upload process to be very slow. It took a couple weeks to upload a dozen terabytes. However when it was all finished, there is no issue in keeping up with the daily influx of data.

Overall: The peace of mind that if you're office burns down or floods and your harddrive backups and their contingency drives die you still have a backup in the cloud... It's worth the few dollars. The value per dollar is stunning with Backblaze!

Pros: Backblaze is very easy to get running on a new computer and has configurable bandwidth limits. It doesn't backup the OS or applications which is great since it is unnecessary. It makes sense to have physical on and off site backups as well for critical data, but backblaze is so affordable that it is a great addition and adds peace of mind without having to always worry about if physical backups are 100% up to date.

Cons: I understand that they need to put limits on some things so people don't game the system, but I wish it was possible to keep a single external HD backed up without having to keep it plugged in all the time. If the external HD is unplugged for a certain amount of days, the data from it will be cleared. For teams that travel often, they may not always be able to have that external drive plugged in.

Pros: After setting up your preferences, Backblaze runs unobtrusively in the background without any further interactions needed. The affordable pricing structure lets me use one account to back up several computers and easily access backups via the Backblaze website. Recovery is easy to do, fast, and multiple delivery options of your data are offered if you're trying to recover larger quantities than you'd prefer to download.

Cons: There isn't an archive solution to hold even a day or twos worth of backups. Your backup is only as good as the last state of your computer, so if you accidentally delete something on your machine, you have to be sure to recover it before the next automated backup takes place.

Pros: I like that Backblaze constantly runs in the background backing up everything that's on my Mac. Some of my co-workers can't be bothered with manually plugging in a hard drive to run a backup, so this works perfectly for them. Since I also have a local backup, I don't have a need to download my entire backup as yet. However it came in handy on a number of occasions when I needed to access a file on my Mac when I'm out.

Cons: I wish they could offer unlimited versioning of files so that I can rollback to an earlier version when something goes wrong. As of now, I'd need to combine that with other solutions like Time Machine or Dropbox Extended Version History.

Pros: First off, the biggest endorsement I can give for this software/service, at least for me, is that it is picked by The Wirecutter as the best online cloud backup service.

The first important thing to realize is that EVERY hard drive will eventually fail. Not if, but when. So you need a backup plan. And any backup plan that requires you to remember to do something is doomed. That's where BackBlaze comes in. The setup is dead simple (easier than other services I've used, like Crashplan), and then you simply let it do it's thing and run in the background. That's it! All you need to do is relax knowing that all of your data (and I mean all--the service allows unlimited data storage) is now safely backed up offsite.

Cons: I have yet to run into any issues with this sofware and service. I fortunately have not had the need to try out their data recovery features, however, so I can't opine on the quality there yet.

Pros: I love that once the software is enabled, I don't ever have to think about it. It's just there, silently making sure that my work is constantly being backed up to the cloud in case the unthinkable happens and I lose all of my data.

Cons: I haven't had to actually use it yet, but having explored the restoration process a little bit through the company's website, it seems to be a bit clunky. It would be nice if there were an easier way to pick through the files I need to restore. Would be even better if it could track multiple versions ala Apple's Time Machine (which I also use).

Overall: Peace of mind!

Pros: - It's so simple to use! There's no fussing around selecting folders to sync, or need to do any manual syncs yourself! It just runs in the background

- Getting regular email updates allows me to have an extra sense of security

- I think the cost of the service is incredibly reasonable

- I love being able to remotely access files. It just makes working while travelling so much easier!

Cons: Really can't find fault with this service! The only improvement I would suggest is that a push notification for when updates are available would be great (currently, I have to request it to 'check for updates' every no and again), but that's not a massive problem.

Overall: Ease of mind! Writing my master's thesis, it's just so good to know that all the work I do is constantly being saved and updated, and I don't have to worry about what will happen if I break/lose my computer. I just can't get into the habit of doing manual backups, and now I don't need to!

Pros: It was easy to setup and configure the software. It ran in the background unattended. It was able to dd or remove folders quickly.

Cons: The one time I needed the software to actually work for a backup it failed. It was not able to retain my existing backup when I had to reinstall Windows 10 on my desktop. I was told I needed to re-upload my entire data-set again.

Pros: It is so easy to just add the different drives or files you want to be backed up regularly. It does it all in the background and you do not even notice it.

When and if you need a backup you have various options for larger amounts of data you can request a drive be sent to you with the data or you can bring down the files in chunks or zipped files.

Cons: I do not have anything bad to say about this other than the one time i switched computers and had to merge my account back was messy but understandable.

Pros: After being forced to find an alternate backup solution for our home business, we came across Backblaze and gave it a try. This has been a home-run for us, and we'll definitely continue to use it. The setup is fairly simple and straightforward, and being able to adjust options regarding when and the amount of resources used to backup files is great.

When we encountered an issue, their support center was prompt in replying to us and did an excellent job at explaining what the cause of the issue was.

The ability to restore an entire folder or an individual file regardless of location is very nice, and the price is very competitive for the options they provide.

Cons: There's really not a whole lot that I'd change. A benefit is the support articles and answers found in the community.

Pros: Pricing is great for Backblaze and setup is beyond simple. The persistent backups mean no user is ever in fear of losing valuable data. We've implemented Backblaze for all our employees machines. An underrated feature that I hope I never have to use is they'll send you a physical copy of your backup if you ever find yourself in a severe emergency backup situation!

Cons: I really, really can't think of any negatives to say about Backblaze. While I think the price is fair I guess it could be bundled a little better for larger organizations who need a lot of machines backed up.

Overall: Backblaze provides a simple setup and peace of mind when dealing with valuable data.

Pros: Ease of use, background operation, peace of mind, price.

Cons: Sometimes when it starts running, it slows my system (albeit briefly)

Overall: I love the set it and forget it the style that Backblaze uses for remotely securing all my files. While other backup software makes you pick and choose what's worth saving, Backblaze just goes for it and backs up everything (you can opt out if something's too sensitive or scandalous, I think) so that you don't have to spend forever setting options. Then it just regularly backs up my files without me having to think about it, so that if I ever lose my laptop or it is lost in a fire or something else horrible, my business files, records, family photos, etc, those are all safe. Peace of mind for a cheap price.

Pros: The speed is incredible and pricing per GB for BackBlaze B2 is lower than Amazon Glacier and Microsoft Azure. Plus, they publish an annual report on hard drive failure rates that is extremely valuable.

Cons: A few years ago, my only gripe was the amount of industry integrations. Since then, however, they've added many, many new ones that resolve my concerns.

Overall: Incredibly fast backups and restorations. Integration with popular backup software.

Pros: I have literally had to do nothing after I signed up and followed the step-by-step process. I feel comfortable knowing that I have a 100% backup of my whole computer.

Cons: I, like many in this day and age, often wonder the security level of this backup storage service. There is some pretty serious content some folks may have stored in their backup...how secure is it? I just don't know yet. There is a constant tug-of-war on my perception of my content's safety and security. This is not specific to BackBlaze, but is inherently present because of the nature of this business.

Pros: If you don't want to fuss about with settings and your primary reason is to have a backup of all of your files, Backblaze is great as a blanket backup of your system. You have control over scheduling the backup session, and you can also set a rule for pausing the backup should there be times of intense bandwidth traffic. The data is encrypted using AES military grade encryption and moved to the cloud through secure SSL connection. Or you can even create your own private encryption.

Cons: It operates on an exclusion based system, but I would much prefer an inclusive based system where I could visualise a folder tree of everything on the hard drive to let me choose which items to sync to online storage; easily accessible per folder synchronisation options would be great.

Overall: Incredibly much storage space for such low cost; good upload speed; the encrption is secure and you can even create private encryption. Peace of mind!

Pros: The fact that there are native apps for each platform instead of cruddy Java apps. Unlimited backup storage, including any external hard drives you want to back up, is simply terrific and unmatched for the price.

Cons: I can think of literally nothing bad to say about Backblaze. Just a note if you use it on a laptop and have the backup frequency set to "Always." Don't forget to pause Backblaze when you're tethering from your phone; it will eat up data if given the opportunity.

Pros: I switched to BackBlaze when Crashplan became too buggy to use. Couldn't be happier I made the switch. The pricing is super-competitive, and they've clearly focused on making the backup options easy to configure and flexible (in that a single computer can include several different drives). Once automated backups were scheduled, I never have to think about backups again, which is the best thing I can say about backup software.

Cons: The software is mostly easy to use, but the information in some of the UI takes a little bit of figuring out. It's like the developers erred to the side of oversimplifying things to make the software look unintimidating, at the expense of clarity. This is especially true of the website UI, where backup restoration often happens. That said, the software does its job, and you can generally figure out how things work by poking around a bit.

Pros: I have had the occasion to implement backblaze for two different clients over the last year. In both cases, it is performed admirably securing the clients data, giving them an interface they were comfortable with, and leading to general client satisfaction.

Configuration is straightforward, and backup services are performed efficiently.

Overall: Simple efficient offsite backups

It's a great way to just have peace of mind and not worry

Pros: I really like that it runs in the background and doesn't interfere with anything, and gives you updates by email.

Overall: I don't like that it costs money, but that's actually an unrealistic expectation because it's an amazing piece of technology. So there you go.

Pros: cheapest available option in the market

end number of apli and integration options

easy to use dashboard

multiple options of recovery including a option were they ship you new disk with your backup files

Cons: there is pretty much nothing that i dont like about the product however it would be better if they setup multiple datacentreS in each continent, currently there datacentre is in USA.

Overall: It helped me to negate the issue of backing up files regularly, given its quality its the best available software in the market.

Pros: We've been using Backblaze and the experience has been amazing so far. It scales as we need and only charges if it reaches a specific limit and it's really cheap for what we get.

Cons: We really don't have anything to complain about so far, since it's working and the performance is great.

Pros: Easy to use, it's a no-brainer to backup files from my computer and you get a realistic amount of space, even on the free accounts, which is so nice! It's also nice to have piece of mind, knowing I won't lose my work or my personal photos is a relief!

Cons: Takes a long time to backup a lot of files, that first time around is an overnight thing, and I have a decent internet upload speed of over 10mbps, and it still takes a really long time. Another thing I didn't like much is that I can't just upload folders, they have to be created on backblaze first, rather than just drag n drop to make things move faster (and avoid human error).

Pros: Install Backblaze, let it run for a few days and then everything you need protecting is backed up! It couldn't get easier than that and it works brilliantly!

Cons: It's so simple there's nothing to dislike. It runs quietly in the background and does what it needs to do.

Pros: Once set up, so easy: set-it and forget-it. Very cost-effective and unlimited. You receive reports on your backups as you request and recovery is simple. Small or large solutions to suit all sizes of business.

Cons: Honestly, not much negative to say about Backblaze. It's worked perfectly for us for years without so much as an extra thought.

Pros: Unbeatable price and unlimited online backup. Essentially the ultimate offering in cloud backup services. SSL encrypted and they'll send you your files or let you download them, plus they allow file sharing.

Cons: After Crashplan personal went away, I was in need of a new comparable backup service. Backblaze seemed like the best alternative. After a long time of researching new companies, I decided to give them a try. I have about 3TB of data I need to backup, but that's not all the data I have. The fatal flaw with Backblaze is it does not allow you to choose which folders and files to backup! Without this the software is basically useless unless you are someone who just wants to backup a small amount of data (ideally less than 100GB or so).

Pros: Competitive and reasonable cost, easy configuration, automatic backups so I don't have to think about it once it's set up, nice iPhone app for anywhere/anytime access to my files.

Cons: License is limited to one PC as I understand it. I would prefer a platform that will take care of multiple machines in a given household, without having to pay per/machine.

Pros: Easiest web interface accessible from any device, be it desktops, laptops or Mac's. And affordable storage prices are a boon. Also adding own encryption keys for the data makes the data more secure.

Cons: Android mobile application seems a little sluggish which can be improved. Live chat supports should be 24*7 given that customer/user can chat anytime anywhere and get his issue solved.

Overall: Ease of access, better web interface, ability to add encryption key for added layer of security.

Pros: I like the biometric security feature. The extra security it offers with the new six digit code that is sent to my phone when logging in. I also like that there is a 24/7 customer service.

Cons: The only thing I don't like is my computer slows down when a backup is occurring. It takes a lot of time to backup my files..

Pros: I love the ease of using this backup service. I've used this program for over two years as a backup for my personal computer. It's a simple low monthly fee.

Cons: The only thing I wish were easier was the redownloading of your files. It takes such a long time that sometimes it times out. They do have an option to have all of your data mailed to you on a USB, though.

Pros: I like that they offer economic alternatives for those who need to back up information that exceeds the capabilities of our computers.

Cons: To be accessible, you need to promote your product more, the price value ratio is the best option. If you are looking to save and maximize your work this is the answer.

Overall: The most important thing is the cost, you can invest a single annual figure and enjoy many benefits, that's the most attractive, I think many will opt for this platform in a short time...

Pros: unlmited storage and the ability to get have a disk sent to you if your data is lost in a storm or fire.

Cons: They are not HIPAA compliant. My office mainly works with dentist and oral surgeons. We do not have our healthcare clients on backblaze because they are not HIPAA compliant.
