### "If you need an emergency backup, Backblaze is perfect"

October 18, 2021

5.0

I believe that everyone who works heavily on files should protect their data from unexpected accidents. Backblaze is a no-brainer for creative specialists and for entrepreneurs.

Pros

It's the easiest way for regular customers to protect their data from loss. It's not the same thing as cloud storage, and it's not meant to be the same. But if you want to be always protected, Backblaze is a great and not-so-expensive solution. I used it for about 2 years when I used my private PC for work. Now I don't need it as much, but still consider getting back.

Cons

It would be great if that had some kind of cloud storage or at least integration with third-party cloud services.

### "Backblaze"

May 9, 2020

5.0

Backblaze runs in the background of your computer and backs up additional files you add to their extensive and secure cloud system. You can choose to do a manual backup, but it automatically backs up each day that you have the computer on and operational. It's easy to use and takes away any worry of losing files.

Pros

I love Backblaze. After the initial setup, it's set-it-and-forget-it software. I also love that you can log into your account on any computer and access the files that have been backed up. It's saved me a couple of times.

Cons

They've since added a new paid tier that deals with this, but the original tier makes it so that anything that's been deleted from your computer no longer remains backed up after 30 days, so with the original tier, it's not helpful for making space on your hard drive.

### "Powerful cloud storage Backblaze B2"

March 5, 2022

5.0

Using Backblaze B2 for desktop, VM, database and NAS backups. Clients include Synology NAS and MSP360 (SQL Server, Hyper-V and desktop).

Pros

It's very inexpensive compared to other cloud-based storage platforms. AWS-compatible API. Easy to manage storage buckets.

Cons

Limited geographical locations means it can be slow depending on where your servers are, when compared to local Azure instances for example.

Reason for choosing Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage

Backblaze cost beats the competition.

### "Backblaze set it and forget it until you need it"

September 7, 2018

4.0

Pros

It is so easy to just add the different drives or files you want to be backed up regularly. It does it all in the background and you do not even notice it. When and if you need a backup you have various options for larger amounts of data you can request a drive be sent to you with the data or you can bring down the files in chunks or zipped files.

Cons

I do not have anything bad to say about this other than the one time i switched computers and had to merge my account back was messy but understandable.

### "Cloud backup plans are nothing new but Backblaze does it best"

May 4, 2018

5.0

Backblaze provides a simple setup and peace of mind when dealing with valuable data.

Pros

Pricing is great for Backblaze and setup is beyond simple. The persistent backups mean no user is ever in fear of losing valuable data. We've implemented Backblaze for all our employees machines. An underrated feature that I hope I never have to use is they'll send you a physical copy of your backup if you ever find yourself in a severe emergency backup situation!

Cons

I really, really can't think of any negatives to say about Backblaze. While I think the price is fair I guess it could be bundled a little better for larger organizations who need a lot of machines backed up.

### "Excellent backup option with great support"

January 12, 2018

5.0

Pros

After being forced to find an alternate backup solution for our home business, we came across Backblaze and gave it a try. This has been a home-run for us, and we'll definitely continue to use it. The setup is fairly simple and straightforward, and being able to adjust options regarding when and the amount of resources used to backup files is great. When we encountered an issue, their support center was prompt in replying to us and did an excellent job at explaining what the cause of the issue was. The ability to restore an entire folder or an individual file regardless of location is very nice, and the price is very competitive for the options they provide.

Cons

There's really not a whole lot that I'd change. A benefit is the support articles and answers found in the community.

### "Great, cost-effective option for remote backup"

December 3, 2019

5.0

I've been using BackBlaze for over 2 years and haven't had any issues with the software, it does a great job notifying me when an employee's machine hasn't been backed up and does a good job of well, backing things up.

Pros

Business licensing allowed me to purchase all the licenses my team needed. The simple invite method works great. This is one of those things you should have but hope you never need

Cons

Migrating computers really isn't a thing with Backblaze. It'd be nice to have a migrate options available.

Reason for choosing Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage

cheap, easy, group management

### "Best backup out there"

July 26, 2021

5.0

It's been fantastic - I had a drive fail and had NO issues getting it back! Perfect software for what's needed.

Pros

If you need backup and are not using this software - I would highly recommend this for all - server and personal!

Cons

At first it takes quite a long time - but after the initial time - it sails!

### "I love the set it and forget it approach"

December 14, 2016

5.0

I love the set it and forget it the style that Backblaze uses for remotely securing all my files. While other backup software makes you pick and choose what's worth saving, Backblaze just goes for it and backs up everything (you can opt out if something's too sensitive or scandalous, I think) so that you don't have to spend forever setting options. Then it just regularly backs up my files without me having to think about it, so that if I ever lose my laptop or it is lost in a fire or something else horrible, my business files, records, family photos, etc, those are all safe. Peace of mind for a cheap price.

Pros

Ease of use, background operation, peace of mind, price.

Cons

Sometimes when it starts running, it slows my system (albeit briefly)

### "Blazing Fast Business Backup"

February 6, 2018

5.0

Incredibly fast backups and restorations. Integration with popular backup software.

Pros

The speed is incredible and pricing per GB for BackBlaze B2 is lower than Amazon Glacier and Microsoft Azure. Plus, they publish an annual report on hard drive failure rates that is extremely valuable.

Cons

A few years ago, my only gripe was the amount of industry integrations. Since then, however, they've added many, many new ones that resolve my concerns.

### "Freed up my time"

December 29, 2018

4.0

Pros

This software does a great job of keeping a daily backup of my computer without even thinking about it. Always have a backup just in case you lose something or anything happens.

Cons

Sometimes I forget to leave my laptop open for it to update overnight but that's more a laptop issue than software problem. Also, if you backup any drives, don't forget to connect them before going to bed...

### "Install and forget until you need it"

September 29, 2020

5.0

Compared to other programs that need to be administered, checking ans ensuring the backups are really done and up to date, Backblaze works in the background with no limits in storage and store everything in your computer that has to be stored and offers to send you your information, should you need it in a SSD

Pros

Smooth install, initial backup and operation. Really does the work wkithout the hassle, self administered, it works for you keeping your files stored and safe

Cons

Everything is fine with this product, maybe a bundle pricing could help to have more computers in the network

### "Peace of mind at a fair cost"

May 8, 2019

5.0

Absolutely one of the most fundamental pieces to protecting your data.

Pros

Set it and forget it. Install the software and instantly have peace of mind. You're definitely limited to whatever upload speed you have in the office but that's just life. I also use the normal Backblaze at home for personal use. The cost is very, very fair for what you get.

Cons

Can slow down your internet a little bit when it's uploading a large backup but that's pretty standard for apps like this. There may be a throttling option that I have to figure out.

### "The best no-fuss backup solution around."

April 2, 2019

5.0

Pros

Backblaze has one of the easiest on-boarding process of any backup software I've used. It's seriously software that most end users would be able to easily configure on their own computer. Such an intuitive interface that still has powerful features for those looking to tweak things.

Cons

I really don't have anything negative to say about Backblaze. Their service and emergency recovery support are second to none, and the no-fuss pricing per computer with no storage caps makes price forecasting a breeze.

### "Covers the Basics"

September 1, 2019

4.0

Pros

It's easy to set up, then requires nothing to maintain. Everything functions pretty automatically. The initial upload speed was fair. It allows lots of space for backup.

Cons

It isn't very user friendly to know what files have been backed up versus which files are queued for backup. Nor is it easy to figure out how to access those files from the cloud if you ever needed to. There is no file versioning, so if you need an older version of a file, you are out of luck. The backup is also limited to whatever you have on your harddrive - it doesn't backup external harddrives, and any file that has not been on your harddrive for more than 30 days gets deleted from the backup as well.

### "Best value"

February 6, 2020

5.0

From my experience, Backblaze delivers what they promise without any hassles. So, that makes me happy.

Pros

I found Backblaze had by far the best pricing structure for data backup. I use their bucket system for my customers and haven't had any problems.

Cons

I think they still need some additional tools for downloading and interacting with the data but I believe they are always working to make the product better.

### "Great backup!"

October 3, 2019

5.0

It has been great. I have comfort knowing all my documents are backed up and my years worth of projects will not be lost!

Pros

Backblaze has been a lifesaver! I downloaded the software and it backs up my documents. My computer died earlier this year and I panicked. I was so worried that I lost everything, and I had never logged in to see my backed up information. I bought a new laptop and was able to successfully get all of my backed up documents, picture, etc from Backblaze. It was super comforting to know that my information was all there. years of work! I also utilized customer service and they were so helpful!

Cons

None! I have had nothing but a good experience with this software. It is well worth the cost!!! Get it today

### "Set It and Forget It"

August 22, 2019

5.0

I feel a lot more secure about recovering my data in case of hard drive failure or damage to my computer.

Pros

Once you set it up, it basically backs up all of your data on your hard drive daily. You basically set it and forget it.

Cons

Some aspects are a little difficult figuring out -- but the customer service by email is very responsive. So no problem with solutions.

Reason for choosing Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage

### "Peace of mind for your bucks"

December 9, 2021

5.0

Pros

Backblaze is a very minimal tool. It doesn't sport any bells and whistles, it never stays in your way. It just stay silent for much of the time and just... works. Your entire disk is safely and securely backed up on their servers and you can access your files and restore your backups in case of dramatic events.

Cons

Honestly the web interface is a little bit strange and oddly organized, but it's a very minor complaint because you rarely use it (if at all).

### "No Sweat Backups"

December 5, 2018

4.0

Positive.

Pros

Simple. Easy. Had our admin give us our install information and within meetings it started the back-up. The first one took a day - but after that it's very short.

Cons

The after-hours back up is a bit confusing to me. I try to do my backups in the background when I'm working during the day.

### "Reliable continuous offsite backup"

March 12, 2018

4.0

Pros

I like that Backblaze constantly runs in the background backing up everything that's on my Mac. Some of my co-workers can't be bothered with manually plugging in a hard drive to run a backup, so this works perfectly for them. Since I also have a local backup, I don't have a need to download my entire backup as yet. However it came in handy on a number of occasions when I needed to access a file on my Mac when I'm out.

Cons

I wish they could offer unlimited versioning of files so that I can rollback to an earlier version when something goes wrong. As of now, I'd need to combine that with other solutions like Time Machine or Dropbox Extended Version History.

### "Affordable and reliable backup solution"

January 8, 2019

5.0

Pros

The ability for us to "set it and forget it." We know Backblaze is running and do not need to check on servers, external HDD's etc.

Cons

Retrieving files from the cloud requires time but this is the case with any cloud backup solution.

### "Easiest backup solution I've tried"

March 18, 2018

5.0

Pros

I switched to BackBlaze when Crashplan became too buggy to use. Couldn't be happier I made the switch. The pricing is super-competitive, and they've clearly focused on making the backup options easy to configure and flexible (in that a single computer can include several different drives). Once automated backups were scheduled, I never have to think about backups again, which is the best thing I can say about backup software.

Cons

The software is mostly easy to use, but the information in some of the UI takes a little bit of figuring out. It's like the developers erred to the side of oversimplifying things to make the software look unintimidating, at the expense of clarity. This is especially true of the website UI, where backup restoration often happens. That said, the software does its job, and you can generally figure out how things work by poking around a bit.

### "Gives me ease of mind regarding all digital documents I use for work and study"

April 10, 2018

5.0

Ease of mind! Writing my master's thesis, it's just so good to know that all the work I do is constantly being saved and updated, and I don't have to worry about what will happen if I break/lose my computer. I just can't get into the habit of doing manual backups, and now I don't need to!

Pros

\- It's so simple to use! There's no fussing around selecting folders to sync, or need to do any manual syncs yourself! It just runs in the background - Getting regular email updates allows me to have an extra sense of security - I think the cost of the service is incredibly reasonable - I love being able to remotely access files. It just makes working while travelling so much easier!

Cons

Really can't find fault with this service! The only improvement I would suggest is that a push notification for when updates are available would be great (currently, I have to request it to 'check for updates' every no and again), but that's not a massive problem.
