### "The de-facto standard for bot protection"

May 26, 2026

5.0

Pros

Great for protecting your sites against bots, multi-user DNS and access control to internal sites via the WAF, all for fairly cheap

Cons

The newer UI is a bit confusing on which site you are working with, and some of the features are a bit complex to work with. WARP could be better. It's becoming a single point of failure for the web

### "A dependable security and performance layer for our applications"

July 10, 2026

5.0

Overall, Cloudflare has been a dependable part of our stack at NextDay AI. We use it primarily for security and caching, and its broader platform gives us useful options such as R2, Pages and Access when a project needs them. It has helped us improve performance and add protection at the edge without creating a large operational burden.

Pros

Cloudflare gives us a strong security and performance layer without forcing every concern into the application itself. At NextDay AI, the combination of traffic protection, flexible security controls, caching, R2 storage and Pages helps us keep services fast and reliable while simplifying parts of our infrastructure. The caching options are especially valuable for reducing unnecessary origin load and improving response times.

Cons

Some of the more advanced configuration can take time to understand, especially when multiple cache rules, security settings and access policies interact. Troubleshooting whether an issue comes from the application, the cache or a Cloudflare rule is not always straightforward, and the dashboard can feel dense when moving beyond the basic setup.

### "CloudFlair for Speed"

September 30, 2025

3.0

We use it for loading speed. We host over 100, and those that work with CloudFlair have faster loading times, improving overall SEO

Pros

the idea that website will load faster and offers protection from internet issue, like DOS attacks. Because of the way it distribute traffic, it helps with load balancing, and improves reliably.

Cons

If their service goes down, our site has gone down even if our own webserver is fine. There are some compatibility issues, but difficult to pinpoint

### "Reliable for the most part"

April 23, 2026

5.0

Overall, it's a slick platform. I think that the way to improve it is to extend the reliability (although, I realize it's basically all of the way there already)

Pros

Cloudflare is very convenient for dns management. We found it more reliable than Godaddy for our domain names. I appreciate the 'actively being hacked' mode that you can turn on to prevent traffic.

Cons

There was a major cloudflare outage that happened which left us hanging (and all of our customers) for several hours. That's expensive.

### "Cloudflare is beast in cloud security . Yes I said they are beasts! "

September 15, 2025

5.0

Pros

I am BIG on Cybersecurity and Cloudflare is the best. I remember reading an article about how they were able to fend of the largest DDOS attack in history and I am not surprised. For $25 a month I get full domain protection and they have build in ruleset that stop attacks and I am able to use my own rules sets as well. I love all the features. I can even Livestream and have a secure cloud service of my videos with them for just an additional 5-10 dollars per month is

Cons

What I like least is that you can't contact customer support during an attack unless you have the business plan which is $250 per month

Alternatives considered

### "Really Complete and powerful "

November 5, 2025

5.0

Pros

Cloudflare is a really complete platform. The bot protection is fully configurable, as well as the WAF. You can create a lot of different rules to do exactly what you want. The offers are really cheap: the free plan is really generous, as well as the pro and business plans.

Cons

The CloudFlare support is really slow when you have a Free or Pro subscription . Also, the billing system sometimes have issue and you need to contact support.

Excellent. They gave me what I needed. I had switched after adobe business catalyst went out of service. Cloudflare was much better.

Pros

It was good value for my mo ey. They hosted my site and I used word press to build. Customer support was timely, effective and easy to use.

### "Reliable and Feature-Rich Platform for Security and Performance."

June 26, 2026

5.0

I've had a very positive experience using Cloudflare to secure and accelerate internal and customer-facing services. It has been reliable, easy to manage, and has reduced operational overhead while providing strong performance and security.

Pros

Cloudflare is easy to set up and provides excellent performance and security features out of the box. Features like DNS, CDN, SSL, WAF, and Access integrate well and help improve both reliability and application security.

Cons

Some advanced configuration options have a learning curve, and troubleshooting complex caching or firewall rules can occasionally take time. Likewise, certain features can also be difficult to utilize without extensive documentation.

### "Reliable platform for DNS, security, and website performance"

June 22, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with Cloudflare has been very good. It is reliable, fast, and useful for managing domains, securing websites, and improving performance. Once everything is configured properly, it gives peace of mind and makes it easier to manage important web services. There is a learning curve, but it is a strong platform and worth using.

Pros

What I liked most about Cloudflare is how much it helps with website security, DNS management, and performance in one place. The DNS is fast and easy to manage, and features like proxying, SSL, firewall rules, and basic DDoS protection are very useful. It gives you a lot of control without needing to overcomplicate the setup.

Cons

What I liked least about Cloudflare is that some settings can be confusing if you are not familiar with DNS, caching, or security rules. A small change can affect how a website loads, so you do need to understand what you are changing. Some of the more advanced features also take time to learn properly.

### "Cloudflare is a poor-mans' dream for Content Delivery Optimization"

July 22, 2023

4.0

Very positive. If you're running a website or web services and you don't have the big bucks to scale with Azure/AWS, then consider these guys. They very seldom let you down.

Pros

What's not to love about it? It has some of the cheapest and fastest content delivery tools on the planet. It has a free tier if you're just a cheapskate, but the paid tiers are pretty modestly priced among industry competitors. There are basic security filters in place and a few other optimizations for regional support (they have more data centers than most others with less latency). Their DNS/Name services resolve quickly and with fewer disconnects.

Cons

Support is kind of a chore, just because they have so many customers. I think it's something they're getting better at though.

### "Cloudflare is a must have for any Website!"

March 21, 2025

5.0

My overall experience with Cloudflare has been amazing, I've used it for setting up my website for music production as well as using it for clients' websites and recommending it to clients because of its ease of use and how much it improves their site.

Pros

I like that Cloudflare is incredibly easy to set up and that there are plenty of resources online centred around it. It also helps improve website security and increase performance and the website is incredibly easy to navigate even for someone who is new to this.

Cons

I don't have anything I'd say I dislike about Cloudflare.

### "Best place to host webpages"

March 31, 2025

5.0

I deploy and host all my websites on Cloudflare. Whether you have a domain on Cloudflare or other providers, it's super easy to integrate your domains to websites (or pages, as called in Cloudflare). Integrates well with GitHub repositories as well.

Pros

Ease of deployment and integration with domains. Also, we have cheaper domain renewal prices than others.

Cons

None. The web analytics of pages, however, have room for improvement as it's completely different from stats on Google Analytics too.

### "Scanning vulnerabilities"

December 5, 2024

4.0

Experience is good, It helps and protect us from any vulnerbailities properly but sometime false alerts and blocking of few things becomes issue.

Pros

1\. Configuring and manging is effective in cloudflare. 2. Helps to secure and make our private environment with this. 3. It is pay as you go plan with centralized management.

Cons

1\. False alerts are one of the biggest issues that encounter almost every day. 2. Interface is little complex and clumsy. 3. Little latency in filtering the information and it usually block some useful scripts as well.

Pros

With the connectivity cloud I can have everything connected to everything for easy access to documents or information from anywhere. Its security is the most reliable because it makes everything flow correctly and with a fairly powerful and fast server that does not have slow loading times

Pros

Cloudfare's WARP is a nice free VPN to stabilise internet connection of device. Works decent enough for a free product.

Pros

I like the granularity of Cloudflare Web application firewall to add specific rules to block certain characters, payloads, event listeners, html tags, etc. I used it to create labs on web vulnerabilities topics.

Cons

### "Cloudflare: Exceptional Security and Performance with a Worthwhile Learning Curve"

August 16, 2024

5.0

I've had nothing but great experiences with Cloudflare generally. The platform significantly improves the dependability and security of my network by offering outstanding security, performance, and scalability. The extensive feature set and helpful support staff all up to a very positive user experience.

Pros

I enjoyed how simple it was to integrate Cloudflare with pre-existing infrastructure and how many security features it offered. Significant benefits include the platform's scalability and performance enhancements for apps and websites.

Cons

The initial learning curve could use some work because it might take some time to become proficient with all of Cloudflare's functions. For those who take the time to learn the platform, its depth does, in the end, offer strong capabilities.

### "Cloudflare is best and most useble solution for web security."

February 24, 2022

4.0

My overall experience was very good with Cloudflare just required me to choose any of their plans and connect multiple websites under their plan. Multiple security layers protect our site from cyber attackers not require any advanced knowledge for implementation with our system for our WordPress plugin available. Just plug the Cloudflare plugin and enjoy all those services.

Pros

Cloudflare actually improves our website uptime and from anywhere in the world our users visited our website they didn't feel more that this site is slow. For that, we always try to use Cloudflare under every project. This is the most reliable solution available in the market.

Cons

Cloudflare provided us with the best all-in-one solution for online security. We easily integrate our website with Cloudflare which enhances the security of our website. and in another way, it helps us to balance site load in an appropriate way all those things are too much easy to use.

### "I wonder why every web dev don't use Cloudflare!"

May 24, 2022

5.0

I'm extremely happy and I can't stress everyone enough to use Cloudflare. They are making web more faster for everyone and the best part about it is that most of the users would totally satisfy with their free services.

Pros

The onboarding process was so easy, without any downtime to the website. Also after setting up for the first time, we saw 2 times performance increase just because we set it up. And later on, we were able to optimize our website further with the technologies they provided. Recently I found the worth of Cloudflare again when I was attacked by a targeted DDoS attack from multiple locations. First of all, I was not aware that It was a DDoS attack and when I realized it is a DDoS attack, I just had to turn a toggle on to minimize it. I just hadn't tightened my security enough to handle DDoS attacks in their settings. The recent beta program for Email Routing looks so promising for my users because they can use email routing completely free.

Cons

I would say nothing because they offer so much for their free plan even. if you need more granular control you just have to select a plan with more features.

### "Enhancing Website Security, Performance, and Reliability: A Positive Experience with Cloudflare"

February 19, 2023

5.0

Cloudflare is well-regarded as a comprehensive solution for enhancing website security, performance, and reliability. Also, it's free SSL for beginner's websites.

Pros

Cloudflare offers a comprehensive suite of security services, including DDoS protection, web application firewall, bot management, SSL/TLS encryption, etc. These features help to protect websites and applications from a range of threats, including hacking attempts, malware, and phishing scams.Cloudflare's global network of data centres and content delivery network (CDN) can improve website and application performance by reducing latency and delivering content faster. Cloudflare's load balancing and caching features can also help to distribute traffic across multiple servers, improving overall performance and availability.Cloudflare's user interface is intuitive and user-friendly, making it easy for businesses to set up and manage their security, performance, and reliability services.

Cons

While Cloudflare offers a free tier with basic features, more advanced features and services are expensive. I am concerned about the amount of data Cloudflare collects about my websites, particularly if they handle sensitive or confidential information.

Pros

Setting up a reverse proxy is very easy with cloudflare, if you add to that that you can install an ssl certificate, restrict access to your website, only some countries, and you can also manage workgroups, then you have it all!

Cons

### "Excellent tool with MANY different functions "

June 13, 2024

5.0

Great set of tools from a reliable and world leading company, with a great community and a full range of documentation

Pros

Cloudflare is a bunch of different tools and services, always very easy to deploy and with good and in-depth documentation. The price is awesome for what it does. Many many tools are free with very generous caps. Couldn’t leave without once I got into it, it simply does too much and too well to be looking at alternatives.

Cons

My only complaint is really minor: there so many menus that it is easy to navigate, but sometimes I tend to get lost and the fact that they are re-organised often or new services are added, sometime it takes a while to remember where a certain switch or option was
