### "Most secure content delivery network for website of any size"

April 29, 2021

5.0

I'm using Cloudflare for years and never faced any significant issue. I'm overall happy with their product and services.

Pros

Cloudflare allows many advance features even for free users. Like DNSSEC in Cloudflare DNS, Cloudflare proxy, I'm under attack mode and so on. Further, ClouFlare optimizes the content of the hosted websites by minifying codes and make websites a lot faster.

Cons

Cloudflare free plan and even the business plan doesn't allow users to bring their own SSL certificates. This is a very basic and necessary feature. To upload custom SSL you need to purchase an enterprise plan with a $200/month rental, which is quite costly.

Switched from

[KeyCDN](https://www.capterra.com/p/165740/KeyCDN/)

keyCDN is only a content delivery network and doesn't offer all the features that Cloudflare offers.

### "A must have for security and overall peace of mind"

April 30, 2019

5.0

Pros

Pointing my site to Cloudflare is one of the very first things I do while developing a self-hosted site or when taking over an existing site that either suffers on the performance or the security. This is a classic scenario to face while developing a Wordpress site, the client shows up with a slow and unsafe site, using Cloudflare in this cases is a life and time-saver. With a few clicks, you can cache, activate SSL on your site (bringing customers to trust back) and use their CDN that rocks, especially for Javascript. The DNS changes are instantaneous, making server migration a breeze. The protection against DDOS is vital for high-traffic sites, your IP will be hidden as well and your precious server resources will be safe as well. If everything else fails just switch "I am under attack" mode. Cloudflare is now a must have tool for virtually every site I develop.

Cons

The only thing I don't like is the lack of customization of the 404 and 500 error screens on the free plans. But I guess is fair enough since their plans are not that expensive neither.

### "It used to be a lot better"

October 30, 2019

3.0

It served me well for a very long period, but it never mitigated any of my DDoS attacks. It did helped me when managing DNS was a pain in the ass. BUt eventually I found out that it was slowing my website. Since I moved away from it and got separate services to do what CF used to (DNS, protection, analytics), I got way better services and faster sites.

Pros

It sure makes managing your sites's DNS and main configurations handy by centralizing them. It offers nice redirection features and a whole bunch of features like apps and protection, cdn, etc.

Cons

But the service has been packing so many features that though it looks like advantage when it's not.

### "What i think of Cloudflare"

May 21, 2020

5.0

Cloudflare has saved my business from over one million attacks since i started using it. It has also saved me a whole lot of bandwidth. Cloudflare is super cool.

Pros

Cloudflare's basic security features are totally free. Cloudflare also comes in with an effective anti ddos feature, a keep alive feature, a powerful cache system and a wonderful firewall settings, of which you can add your own firewall rules.

Cons

Its price. Cloudflare's pricing is for established businesses who can afford their premium services. If you can afford it, it is worth every penny. I personally have no major issues with cloudflare

### "A Free Plan Offering Premium Features"

May 9, 2018

5.0

The main reason we first started using CloudFlare within our business was to upgrade all of our sites to SSL effortlessly, in preparation for the new Google HTTPS stricter rules. CloudFlare served this function perfectly, saving us money on advanced SSL certificates as well as time on installing these certificates manually. Since then, we have explored the other features of CloudFlare and impressed has been an understatement. As stated earlier, the benefits of CloudFlare are simply astonishing for a free product.

Pros

The free plan on CloudFlare is simply unbelievable value. For the low cost of nothing, you gain a world class CDN system which offers enterprise level security that rivals many premium, high cost solutions. The variety of features is astonishing too, with free SSL certificates, caching services and advanced analytics included also with the free plan.

Cons

It's hard to fault CloudFlare, but if I were to criticise something it would be that many of the caching features cause severe breakage to a site. For example, whenever I enable the Rocket Loader my WordPress sites are always broken in some form. However, beggars can't be choosers and these issues can simply be averted by not enabling this feature.

### "One or the best CDNs!"

October 1, 2020

5.0

Pros

The overall experience with them has been great. It’s not only simple to setup, but also they have a huge documentation library where you can get a lot of information: from them, compatibility with other softwares, best configurations, etc. The results you get by just getting their free plan are more than enough for small-medium companies. Also, they hace more than 150 servers around the world, so the performance results are really great, even comparing with some other paid services.

Cons

Nothing to add here. My overall experience was really good. I never had an issue or had to get in touch with support. When ever I had a doubt, I was able to solve them just by checking their documentation library.

Reason for choosing Cloudflare

I use both. Depending on my clients locations. ArganCloud has really good options as well, but the speed you get in some locations is a little bit less than Cloudflare.

### "One of the best CDNs"

One of the best CDN, really is a must have for my business and I really recommend all my clients to use it to protect their website and make it load faster.

Pros

It's really easy to setup, support is really responsive and good, they could help me with an issue I had on a website. Also it protects my websites from hacking attacks. Really a great experience

Cons

Nothing much, it's really a roundup service and tool. I havn't had any major issue.

### "Cloudflare a simplifié l'ajout de HTTPS à mon site Web."

April 12, 2022

5.0

Reason for choosing Cloudflare

J'ai réalisé qu'il existait d'excellentes options au lieu de payer des prix astronomiques à votre fournisseur de services.

### "I don't think that, there is any competitor to CF in market"

December 1, 2022

Pros

The company made a lot of big improvements and innovations in services in the last few years. There is a log improvements for clients websites like Image Resizing, Auto Minify, Brotli, or APO for WordPress. And FREE CDN of course.

Cons

There is nothing like that. Some of our projects wouldn't ever start without CF.

### "Above and Beyond Cloud Security"

August 16, 2023

5.0

I use this for my own businesses, as well as employer organization, and would recommend it to my IT friends and colleagues if they also didn't already use it.

Pros

I was blown away on initial use of Cloudflare and their free tier offerings, and has led me to consider further purchases of their services. Their DNS proxy service alone is invaluable, and I would be remiss to not use it.

Cons

I do wish pricing offered more granularity for smaller organizations, as it can be confusing which products are free until you attempt to set up a service offered.

### "Powerful, wide range of config options"

February 17, 2022

5.0

Good - we use daily for our own sites + client sites

Pros

Helps reduce DDOS, security, latency. We have it configured to help secure Wordpress on many sites.

Cons

Can be complex for a non-security, but there's sort of no way around that, reality is complex - it's not the fault of them - they do a pretty solid job making it all understandable.

### "Good deal with extensive security"

April 14, 2021

5.0

Cloudflare has been easy to work with. Their support is responsive but not always the smartest on things. I think their product has grown a lot and keeps adding complimentary products that have kept us ahead of attacks. Our site is also lot faster using their tool.

Pros

Simple to get going and provide some basic security for a site. Their pricing is agreeable for small businesses that need powerful protection. We have seen DDoS attacks stopped by Cloudflare for years now and it only keeps getting better. They have added more robust features however they do cost extra but its worth it.

Cons

Some of the layer 7 attack prevention methods are not very automatic. It would be great if they auto blocked certain IPs or ASN that went over a certain metric threshold. There is no reason an IP should be able to send 1TB of bandwidth without a challenge. If there was a rule system that could help with these cases.

### "Cloudflare is as good as advertised"

August 11, 2022

5.0

Overall, I enjoyed Cloudflare's security features and capabilities. In terms of DNS management across multiple domains, it's very easy for users of all levels from beginner to advanced to customize and incorporate google records/values. Love their UI as well.

Pros

Plethora of features/benefits and ease of use. Enjoyed video streaming/hosting and easy DNS management.

Cons

Visitor analytics particularly with videos is not straightforward to integrate with google analytics - requires more advanced developer expertise.

### "Amazing CDN and great protection for your website"

March 14, 2021

5.0

We use Cloudflare for caching and CDN primarily, but are also very happy with its DDoS attack protection. All the customers we introduce to Cloudflare are absolutely amazed by how much it improves their website and how well it behaves once behind CDN and solid caching, just by using the free version. Most of them switch to the paid version later on.

Pros

Everything in Cloudflare is amazing and useful for all the websites I make. If I had to pick and choose I would be hard pressed to choose between the CDN and caching. Both work wonders in improving your website speed, which Google rewards with better positioning, and customers reward with longer retention. The best part - basic features are free to use!

Cons

Some of the options are not available in the free version and those options are pricey. Other than that, I have nothing I don't like about Cloudflare. Using the free version is enough for basic protection and caching and that works like a charm.

### "Cloudflare for web application security"

My overall experience is bigger than average. Cloudflare creates a good option for people 's.

Pros

People use cloudflare for their site security and performance. It has wider networks on webs, and also first choise because of security its features. It secured your data with out concealing your identity. Thats why i liked very much. It is also better than vpn.

Cons

I think cloudflare can do better work, but they dont want to check blacklisted users ip address, what they want to show, is exactly what.

Reason for choosing Cloudflare

I dont use any alternative

### "I don't use any other DNS provider for my or my client's sites"

June 8, 2018

5.0

Improves a website's performance and security.

Pros

Cloudflare is my goto DNS, CDN and Security provider. In my opinion, they are the best of the best. If you have a domain on the web, you should be using Cloudflare, it's just that simple. They'll cache your website, compress code, make it faster and secure it all at the same time.

Cons

The pricing is beginning to climb but for what you get I think the value is still there. Even their free version has more going for it than other DNS providers.

### "Best CDN, DNS, static site hosting provider"

July 18, 2021

5.0

I have been using Cloudflare free plan for years. Most features I need are provided for free. I like their services very much.

Pros

Cloudflare optimize my website speed and enhance the security. They update DNS changes quickly, usually within a few minutes. I like Cloudflare Pages, which provides static site hosting with excellent speed and uptime.

Cons

Cloudflare support is helpful but their reply is very slow. The support forum usually cannot help me since I cannot expose some important information such as my server IP address.

### "Great for CDN but some hicups"

June 14, 2022

4.0

Its an inexpensive CDN and free SSL in our experience for small website. If you have larger sites and busy traffics, you have to upgrade to paid options in cloudflare or it wont work for you.

Pros

Free tier is enough for most users' usage. Free SSL's and Free CDN. Not much option is available in the market for services they offer at no cost.

Cons

We found it unstable alot of times, If you are using the SSL, site will display errors more frequently. We were using 2 major clients with lots of traffic and we started to experience more downtimes and cache issues, changes you make wont appear instantly for for many hours based on users locations and you have to manually purge it from cloudflare interface. Ever since switched back the nameservers from Cloudflare back to orignal, most of the issues are gone.

### "Easy to set up, and great added security for almost any website"

April 27, 2019

5.0

Cloudflare is a great solution for beginners looking to secure their website, as we have a couple clients' using their services for smaller websites.

Pros

The biggest feature for Cloudflare lies in its' simplicity to set up with your site and domain. Many hosts and Cpanels now offer Cloudflare integration, which will set up the DNS for you with one click. Once you're set up, Cloudflare runs seamlessly in the background. The DDoS protection (while not necessary for most smaller sites) is great for peace of mind. Most people use Cloudflare for the free SSL encryption, which is great, but it's important to at least do your research on some free encryption services that have surfaced recently (Let's Encrypt, etc.)

Cons

In our uses, we found the 'always live' features, which offers a cached version of your site in the event it goes down, didn't quite work all the time. In the few times our site went down, users were met with a Cloudflare connection error message, which really defeats the purpose... Additionally, in some cases, we had some issues with IP address reporting on our traffic, which caused some conflicts. This was solved by disabling a few settings within the Cloudflare panel.

### "Free version offers some great features"

January 8, 2019

Originally was using to provide free SSL certs, since letsencrypt has became much more common the benefits of this functionality are less than they once were, although still offers some great functionality

Pros

I've used cloudflare on numerous projects, it's very easy to use and provides a host of features, even on a free account Standout features include High availability CDN DDOS Protection SSL certificates

Cons

Prices for paid versions are somewhat expensive if you only want certain features, specifically CDN
